Hi, everyone! Happy Mother's Day to all you Moms out there!!! Today I would like to share two different Mother's Day cards created with the same set from Our Daily Bread designs, 'The Greatest Gift' Stamp/Die Duo. For the first card I am using the Splitcoast April Fan Club sketch with a 'Perfect Blend' of purple and yellow to match the floral designer paper from the Whimsical Wildflowers Paper Collection. The designer paper was shaped with the ODBD Custom Leafy Edged Borders Dies and ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies. The butterflies were stamped on white with Stazon Jet black, cut out with the custom dies, then sponged with yellow and purple using a reverse mask.
The second version uses the same stamps, designer paper and border die, but the sentiment was stamped onto a panel cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Circles Dies set. Baker's twine and sequins were used as a contrast to the lavender card base.

Happy Retirement, Mom!
Hi, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from the Jennifer McGuire Ink Blog....wow, what an awesome new discovery...no shortage of inspiration there! I love all of her ink blending techniques and was drawn to this gorgeous card since it reminded me of a sunset. My mom is retiring and I thought that a sunset paradise would be just right. We have worked together for 26-1/2 years and I will sure will miss seeing her every day! (Pass the tissues!) For her card, I stamped the silhouette and sentiment from the 'Bon Voyage' set with Stazon Jet Black; the sun was sponged using a cut-out from a circle die, then the sun was masked before sponging the background. Since Mom loves Hawaii, I added a tropical flower cut with the ODBD Custom Frangipani Dies set. The frames were cut with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies. I will also be squeezing this in at the last minute to the Sunrise/Sunset Fan Club challenge.

ODBD Sneak Peek - Plough the Fields
Happy Saturday, everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderfully blessed Thanksgiving!!! After a few days of "down time", I'm back in the stamping groove!!! Today's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to choose a photo from your Favorites Gallery to recreate. I picked this awesome card by Lois aka clownmom....I love the sponged panel with the silhouette....so striking! I am using an upcoming set by Our Daily Bread designs, 'Plough the Fields', plus two new dies sets (ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies and ODBD Custom Double Stitched Circles Dies) which will all be available on December 1st. I love this stamp set so much, especially since I'm always needing help in creating masculine cards. I started by cutting the white rectangle, masked the top and bottom, sponged the center portion with rust, olive, blue, and purple, removed the masks and stamped the image in black. Though Lois' card was very CAS, I added linen thread, the die cut circle for the sentiment, plus three metallic dots in the corner.
Thanks so much for visiting!

Cruisin' CAS Style!
Hi, everyone!! Today's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use the colors of the swatch shown at the left, with the dessert option of making a Thank You card. Hubs and I will be going on another cruise in a few months, so this was a perfect opportunity to make a few Thank You cards (for tips for our wait staff and room steward). I bought this adorable stamp a couple of years ago from Stamper's Best to use for scrapbooking some of our cruises.....haha, out of four cruises in ten years, I've created TWO layouts! At this rate, I'll be a hundred before I get one scrapbook made!! lol!! Anyhoo, the ship was stamped onto the card base and again on scratch paper so that I could cut out a mask. The scene was sponged in the three colors, then highlighted with a white gel pen. The sentiment is from the 'Thank You' set by Our Daily Bread designs.

CAS Inspiration from Birgit
Happy Saturday, everyone!!! Today's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to choose your inspiration from Birgit's blog, Rapport fran ett Skrivbord, which translated to English means "Report from a Desk". Birgit (aka Biggan) is one of my all time fave stampers/artists over at Splitcoast.....her style is so artsy and creative!!! I chose this beautiful card to re-create, using masking with scratch paper and sponging. The silhouette and sentiment are from "Find Beauty" from North Coast Creations (sister company to Our Daily Bread designs).
Thanks so much for visiting with me today!

Hello My Friend!
Hi, everyone!! This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is Old Olive, Calypso Coral, and Real Red. On a white panel, I sponged red, coral, and olive over a silhouette mask (Prima Co.). The CAS (Clean and Simple) Challenge this week is stitching/faux stitching, so I paper pierced the edges and used the Faux Stitching technique by connecting the pierced holes with a white chalk marker. The silhouette was spritzed in olive by using my Air Art Tool and an olive marker. The sentiment is from "Sentiments Collection 2" by Our Daily Bread designs. Olive pearls were added as the only embellishment. I made this card in about 25 minutes....yay, another record for me!!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Birthday!
Hello! My nephew chose Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the theme of his birthday party, so I had to figure out a way to create a matching card. I searched around for ideas, but ended up printing off a free on-line coloring page onto white cardstock, colored and cut out the Michaelangelo image and popped him up over a scene which was sponged over scratch paper. The sentiment is from the Our Daily Bread designs "Special Boy" set.

Rev Up Your Engines!
Hello! Today's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Curt O'Brien aka indycurt....congrats, Curt! There were so many wonderful cards in his gallery with fun scenes, so I chose this one to recreate for a quick birthday card for my nephew's party this afternoon. He asked for a card with a dog, so Snoopy it is!!! Since I wanted to make a one-layer card, there was a lot of masking involved, but I love the tedious stuff!
The sentiment is from "Special Boy" by Our Daily Bread designs, the "Snoopy's Chopper" image is by Stampabilities, the dirt specks are from a Stampin Up classic, "Itty Bitty Backgrounds", and the trees are by Inkadinkado.
Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your Sunday!!

A Bushel and a Peck!
Hi, everyone! How about another sneak peek of a new set by Our Daily Bread designs? This is simply called "Apples".....I LOVE this set and will wear it out for sure!! Isn't this the sweetest sentiment?!
This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to choose an item from the Eskayel store......I chose this fabric with rust, red, and green patterns. The Friday Free4 All Challenge was to use primary colors red, blue, yellow, or a combination of them....I used red, blue and blue+yellow=green!
How did I create this scene? The "Apples" image was stamped in Stazon Jet Black permanent ink onto a square white piece of cardstock and also onto a piece of scratch paper. The scratch paper image was cut out (just inside the lines) and placed over the image on the cardstock as a mask (to protect the image while the background was sponged). I cut a long rounded piece from another piece of scratch paper with my craft knife in order to sponge the grassy hill. The clouds were sponged over the edge of a punched scallop circle. After all of the sponging was done, the mask was removed from the apple bushel and the image was partially watercolored and the rest was colored with markers. Paper piercing was added, along with baker's twine and red gemstones, then popped up over a rust-colored card.
Thanks for visiting! Come back tomorrow for the ODBD New Releases!!
Oh, don't forget.....today is the last day for the Dog Days of Summer Sale over at Our Daily Bread designs.....20% off of all in-stock stamps and dies!!!!!

This super cute stamp is "Pool Time Buford" from North Coast Creations......their line of Crazy Critter stamps are so fun!! The sentiment is from another NCC set, "Heaven's Masterpiece". Thank You So Much!
Hello! Here is a quick thank you card I made using the layout from this beautiful card by Laura Nehring aka the craftysister, who was last week's Featured Stamper.....thanks again for the inspiration, Laura!!!
The butterfly is from Our Daily Bread designs.....it comes as a single or within the Butterfly Corner set, plus there is a matching custom die for it as well. The sentiment is from "Thank You Sentiments". I like to color with sponge daubers for a smooth look (since I don't have Copics or blending markers), so I stamped an extra butterfly, sponged coral and razzleberry, then cut around the image and adhered it to the die cut.
Before I sign off, just wanted to remind you all that both Our Daily Bread designs and North Coast Creations are having a special sale which run through Sunday.....check out the details on the ODBD Blog and NCC Blog.

Heaven's Masterpiece
Hi, everyone! Today I have another birthday card to share. This week's Queen for the Day over at Splitcoast Stampers is the sweet and talented Faith aka yabbadodo......congrats, Faith!!! After cruising through her amazing gallery, I chose this beautiful card to re-create using the North Coast Creations set, "Heaven's Masterpiece". The Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast is to choose an item from "Lilly Pulitzer" for your inspiration.....I love the colors in this beautiful dress, so I sponged aqua, coral, and pink for the background of my silhouette scene.
Thanks for stopping by today!! Before I go, I just want to remind you that you will no longer see my posts in your Google reader since it will disappear after today. If you are subscribed via Google reader, please head over to my blog and subscribe via email instead.

North Coast Creations June New Release Blog Hop!
Hi, everyone! Welcome to the North Coast Creations June New Release Blog Hop! This month there are three amazing new silhouette stamp sets.....I will be sharing two of those sets with you here today!
Please visit each of the designers listed below, to see some gorgeous samples of the new sets. Once you have visited them all, please head over to the NCC Blog and let us know that you have finished. You have until June 17 at 9 pm EDT to complete the hop. There will be two winners of a $10 gift certificate to the NCC store towards stamps; winners will be announced on the NCC Blog on June 18th.
My first sample features the "Find Beauty" set, which includes a beautiful silhouette, three sentiments and one quote. I used various dies from the Spellbinders Labels One and Grand Labels One sets to cut out the card and layers. The top panel was colored with sponge daubers with green, coral, and pink ink pads. The designer paper in the background is Bo Bunny "Little Miss". The butterfly "trails" were paper pierced with an ornare piercer and the outside of the panel was pierced by hand with my standard sized piercer.
My second sample today features "Heaven's Masterpiece", another gorgeous silhouette set; this one includes one image, four sentiments, and two lovely quotes! The espresso brown shaped card was cut out with the Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Squares die set and the matting and image panel were cut out with Square Nestabilities. The image was stamped in dark brown ink and the background was sponged in pink.

Sun and Shield
Hi, everyone! This is a birthday card for my brother-in-law, which I created using the "oldie but goodie" stamp set "With Heartfelt Sympathy" (cattails and dragonfly) along with a scripture from the "Bookmarks - Scriptures" set, both from Our Daily Bread designs. The card design was cased from this lovely card by this week's Queen For The Day, Phyllis aka Tater.....congrats, Phyllis!! I am also using the ODBD Shining the Light Challenge, to create a masculine or Father's Day card.
The background was sponged, using scratch paper masks and sponge daubers. After matting, paper piercing and grosgrain ribbon was added. I love masculine cards......they like 'em plain and not too many "doo-dads", although I did use a glitter pen on the dragonfly! :)
Thanks for stopping by today!

Burst Into Song, You Mountains!
Hi, everyone! Happy Saturday!! I will be working on taxes this weekend (ugh), but had to squeeze in the Inspiration Challenge from Splitcoast before I get started. I chose this Biking book from Patina for inspiration. This is a birthday card for a co-worker. I wanted to make a CAS (clean and simple) card, so I went to the gallery at Splitcoast and searched for both "CAS" and "Masculine" and I discovered this beautiful card by Karen Dunbrook to CASE (copy and share everything)....thanks for the design inspiration, Karen!!
The stamps used are from the "Keep Climbing" set by Our Daily Bread designs. I used 2 pieces of scratch paper (and non-permanent adhesive) to mask off the stamped and sponged area. Some baker's twine and a button were all the embellishments needed. I will definitely make more like this.....quick and easy!!!
Thanks for visiting! Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Happy Retirement.....by the Sea!
Hi there! Today I would like to share a "soothing" card which I made for my wonderful mother-in-law, who just retired. I am so happy for her....she has been waiting for a long time and now the day has come! I knew I wanted to use the "Happy Retirement" set from Our Daily Bread designs and used one of my fave color combos.....aqua and corals! Today's Free For All Challenge at Splitcoast is to use your favorite colors, so here they are!
This was a quick and easy scene.....stamped the beach scene, added the sentiment in the sand, colored the sky and sand with sponge daubers and ink pads, colored the rest with markers, added paper piercing around the edges, and for a finishing touch I went with May Arts twine and a seashell charm. Since the twine was pretty thick, I added two layers of foam tape to the back of the panel to pop it up.

Inspiration Challenge Birthday Card
I was beginning to have "Challenge Withdrawal"! I've been working to get my magazine projects finished for the December issue of Christian Papercrafts Magazine, that I haven't even looked at any challenges this week......until I realized that I needed a birthday card for today for my nephew, Caleb. The inspiration challenge today over at Splitcoast was to choose an item from the TracyPorter website......wow, a lot of awesome stuff on there!! I wasn't sure what to make for a four-year-old's birthday card, UNTIL I saw the colors of this dinner set....perfect for a southwestern scene with Lightning McQueen from CARS!
I cut Lightning and the banner from a birthday invitation since I didn't have a stamp, sticker, or anything else to use. The background scene was sponged using some masks I cut a few months ago to make this birthday card for my mom.
Ooooh, by the way, Our Daily Bread Designs website is back up, but there are a few bugs to work out. If you would like to order anything from the store, please call Kelley directly with your order and it will ship out the next business day. Thanks so much for your patience!!
Thanks for stopping by today! Have a blessed weekend!

Little Layers Anniversary Card
I started out with Stampin' Up "Little Layers" for the fish, used a reverse stamp to get the second fish, added extra stripes and colored with a gel pen and popped up on foam tape. The seaweed and shells are from SU "On The Beach". The sentiment is from Sugar Loaf See-D's clear stamps, called "Love, Love, Love". The background was sponged using scratch paper masks. If you click on the photo for a close-up, you can see the Pearl Glimmer Mist which was sprayed over the layers. Added Hero Arts heart-shaped pearls for the bubbles, paper piercing, and double ribbon to finish.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a blessed day!

ODBD Sketch Challenge- Purple Mountain Majesty

Our Daily Bread Designs is hosting their third sketch challenge, which ends on the 15th. Check out the ODBD Blog for details about winning BLOG CANDY!!!
This quote comes from a brand new release from ODBD, called "In God We Trust".....you HAVE to check out the new patriotic sets and the awesome projects made with them at ODBD.
This is my first attempt at Flower Soft...please go easy on me! I love how the willow tree turned out, but the little flowers were a little more difficult! I've been wanting to make a willow tree for a while, especially after receiving my first Flower Soft order. Then comes along the Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast, to use one of the Faviana prom dresses as your inspiration. As soon as I saw this dress, I was on my way. And why not kill two birds with one stone and use Our Daily Bread's sketch challenge?
I first sketched out the tree and scene on scratch paper, cut the sections out with an exacto knife, and sponged one part at a time onto the card panels with sponge daubers and ink pads. (The ovals were cut and embossed using Spellbinders Nestabilities.) Once the sponging was finished, I drew some flower petals, then applied Flower Soft glue and Flower Soft. The colors I used were Shamrock Green, Fuschia, Lemon, and Baby Peach. This was easy to apply.....the hard part was WAITING for the glue to dry completely....argh!!!
Thanks for stopping by today! Don't forget to check out the Sketch Challenge at ODBD! Have a blessed weekend!!!
