Hee Haw, It's Your Birthday!

Hi, everyone! This week's Ways To Use It Challenge over at Splitcoast is focused on Leap Day....anything that leaps. I needed a couple of boy birthday cards, so I used this fun set, Darling Donkeys, from Stampin Up. The scene was sponged over scratch paper and the images were colored with markers. The clouds on one of the cards were sponged over a stencil made with the Clouds and Raindrops Dies by Divinity Designs LLC; the other just has random sponging. The cards are mostly the same, other than the color of linen thread used at the top.

Hello There

Hi, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge site over at Splitcoast is Real Fabric.....I chose this swatch as inspiration. I used the Stampin Up set, Nature's Prints, and Stazon Teal ink. I made two identical cards thanks to my beloved MISTI (it truly is the Most Incredible Stamping Tool Invented!) Three gems were added as a finishing touch. Both of these cards will go into my birthday card stash.
This is a photo of the fabric I used for inspiration:

I Smell Old People!

Hi, everyone! This week's Ways To Use It Challenge over at Splitcoast is to create something funny, punny, or silly. This card is for a co-worker who has a fantastic sense of humor and a laugh that carries through our whole building! This is a hodge-podge of companies: the designer paper is from Stampin Up, the sentiment is from My Favorite Things and the following dies are from Divinity Designs LLC: Large Numbers, Pierced Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer, Mini Slimline Tri-Shutter (sentiment panels).

Coneflower Thank You

Happy Friday, everyone!  My card today is one of a group of thank you cards created for those who came to support me during my Dad's funeral visitation earlier this week.  I have combined this week's Splitcoast Color Challenge of Vanilla, Melon Mambo, and Pecan Pie, along with the Friday Free4All Challenge, which was to incorporate anything beginning with a 'B'.....brown is my 'B' word.  I have used the 'Nature's Harvest' stamp set by Stampin Up; the image was stamped with Stazon Timber Brown onto ivory cardstock; the petals were water-colored and the leaves were colored with markers.  I used an air-art tool for adding the 'splatters' once the coloring was finished.

Thank you for visiting with me today!

Ocean Sunset

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from the At Home online store......I am always drawn to ocean scenes and loved this canvas wall art!  I love how this one image from the Stampin Up 'Waves of Inspiration' stamp set has so many different layers within one piece of rubber!  The wave was placed in my MISTI; a Pool Party ink pad inked the entire image for the first stamping, then different markers were used to highlight different sections of the stamp. A Double Stitched Rectangles Die (from Divinity Designs LLC) cut out the panel; while the die was still in place, Blending Brushes colored the background sunset.  The panel was put back into the MISTI in order to stamp the sentiment.  Coordinating dies were used to cut the seagulls from the blue foil cardstock which came in the bundle. I did not use any other embellishments so that it would be flat for mailing.

Relax Your Way

Hi, everyone! This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is perfect for a masculine card: Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Pretty Peacock. I liked this card design so much so I made multiples with different colors; using the MISTI made the duplicates quick and easy! The image from 'A Good Man' by Stampin Up was stamped in Stazon Jet Black, water-colored and sponged, cut out with dies from Divinity Designs LLC, then adhered to a kraft card base with sponged edges.

At the Lake

Hi, everyone! This week's Clean and Simple Challenge at Splitcoast is all about Landscapes. I used the Oceanfront set from Stampin Up. Each part of the scene was lined up in my MISTI; I used a scratch piece to make sure the stamps were lined up correctly, then replaced it with the card panel. This took a bit longer switching the pieces but I didn't want to waste a card. This card is for a co-worker who loves to fish.

Floral Blessings

Hi, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast takes us to Decorator's Warehouse. I fell in love with the jewel tones of this pretty bouquet and chose cardstock and a designer paper scrap to match. Life has been hectic lately, so most of my cards have been simple designs. This card took less than fifteen minutes....I think I will make several more like this but with different colors, so stay tuned. The designer paper is from Stampin Up, the word dies are from Altenew and the sentiment from the 'Ornate Border Sentiments' set and the rhinestones are from Divinity Designs LLC.

You've Got Style

Happy Friday, everyone!  This week's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is to 'Put A Wheel On It'.  I needed a quick birthday card to put in the mail, so I grabbed the 'Driving By' set by Stampin Up.  The car image was stamped with Stazon Jet Black, colored with markers, highlighted with a white gel pen.  The background was sponged over a cloud stencil and the road was sponged over a piece of scratch paper. It took less than fifteen minutes to complete this card....I love that!!!

CAS Thank You Card

Hi, everyone! This week's Clean and Simple Challenge is to create a CAS Thank You card.  The stamps are from the Stampin Up set, Flowing Flowers, and I placed each stamp in my MISTI, inked with coral, then sponged razzleberry on the edges of the stamps a little at a time until it was just right. Once the flowers were done, the sentiment was stamped with razzleberry. I'm happy that I chose the ivory card instead of white.

Clean and Simple Masculine Card

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Susan aka MDO Susan. I chose this beautiful card from her gallery but changed it into a one layer masculine design.  The set I chose is Nature's Prints from Stampin Up. I used the MISTI since I colored each stamp with a marker; using the MISTI ensures the ink coverage that you want.  A mask was used in order to stamp the second foliage stamp.  As a finishing touch, the outside edge of the card base was sponged.

Queen Bee

Hi, everyone!  This week's Friday Free4All Challenge theme is 'All Things New'.....I am using a brand NEW stamp set, along with a spring theme for my card. The stamp set is 'Queen Bee' and the following dies from Divinity Designs LLC were used: Treat Tags, Pierced Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer, plus a Blending Brush.  The images were all stamped in Stazon Timber Brown, colored with markers, then coated with a Clear Glaze Pen.  Barely Banana ink was brushed onto the center of the card before adding the SU sequin stickers and gold tag with baker's twine.  Also, the crown was stamped onto the same gold foil cardstock and fussy cut....unfortunately I didn't get the right angle with the camera to capture the shiny gold crown.  This will be an anniversary card for my co-worker to give to his wife in a couple of weeks.

Warm and Beachy

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Erin aka erinbh....congrats, Erin!  I chose this awesome palm tree card to case today.  I had a scrap piece of SU designer paper just large enough to use a rectangle die to cut the edges.  I used the MISTI to line up the stamps from 'Paradise Palms' so that I could stamp onto the card base multiple times and onto the designer paper multiple times in order to get full coverage.  The palm tree stamps were inked with markers so it took a couple of rounds to get the colors I wanted.  I didn't pop up the layer so that it would be flat for mailing.

Blossoms In Bloom

Hi, everyone!  This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is Flamingo, Curry, and Pear.  My go-to stamp set for 'quick cards' is Blossom in Bloom by Stampin Up.  Using the MISTI makes a card like this super easy since you can add more ink and stamp multiple times.  Some clear gems were added as a finishing touch.  I made two identical cards to mail out to two of my friends who do not know each other! :)

Birthday Bouquet

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Dina Kowal aka dini....congrats, Dina!!  I chose this beautiful card to case today.  I used the same soft colors but different stamps, plus my card is a one layer card.  The stamps are from the 'Blessings of Home' set by Stampin Up. Sponges and markers were used for the coloring and shading.

CAS Birthday Flowers

Hi, everyone!  This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast was perfect to make a quick birthday card.  The stamp set I chose is 'Flowing Flowers' by Stampin Up.  The image was colored with markers and stamped using the MISTI to make sure I had good coverage.  The leaves were stamped first in green, then I used a marker to add a touch of purple.  The circle frame was cut with the following dies from Divinity Designs LLC: Scalloped Circles and Circles.  I did not add the Color Challenge dessert option of ribbon since I wanted the card to be flat for mailing.

Lakefront Birthday

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from the fun vintage poster collection at Vintagraph.....this poster (shown below) reminded me of the 'Oceanfront' stamp set from Stampin Up.  I wasn't able to add the boy but was able to create a similar scene by using masking (and my MISTI to line up each stamp, of course!)  It was challenging to get everything lined up but it was worth it! The sentiment stamp is from 'Special Moments' and speckles were added to the shore with the oldie but goodie 'Itty Bitty Backgrounds'.  The scenic panel was cut out with a Double Stitched Rectangles Die from Divinity Designs LLC.

Sweet Thoughts of You

Hi, everyone!  This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use Early Espresso, Mint Macaron, and Sweet Sorbet with a dessert option of something sweet.  I didn't have the exact colors, but got pretty close.  For my card, I chose 'Catching Butterflies' by Stampin Up and a white card base.  The images were stamped with Stazon Jet Black and lightly water-colored to keep the card from warping. The clouds were sponged and a butterfly trail was added with a fine tip marker.

Your Strength is an Inspiration

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Amy aka Shirleysgirl....congrats, Amy!!  This super cute card inspired me to ink up this awesome wave from the 'Waves of Inspiration' set from Stampin Up.  The wave stamp was put into the Misti and several different inks were used to color the wave, starting with the lighter colors and adding the darker colors here and there. The panel was cut out with a Double Stitched Rectangles Die from Divinity Designs; matching baker's twine was the only embellishment so it would be fairly flat to mail.

Oceans of Happiness

Hi, everyone!  This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use purple, aqua, and green.  I did not choose the 'sparkle' dessert option since this card is for my nephew.  The designer paper is from the 'Beautiful Beaches' Slimline Paper Pad; also from Divinity Designs is the Pierced Rectangle Die, the Matting Rectangle Die, and the A2 Portrait Card Base and Layer Dies.  The seahorse and greenery were cut from the Sea Life Dies by Stampin Up.  The sentiment is from the Seas The Day set, also by Stampin Up.
