Tropical Sunset

Hi, everyone! This week's Sketch Challenge 838 over at Splitcoast will be my last one on the sketch team for this term.  It was a blast creating samples each week but was a big time commitment since I also work full time.  Since the sketch was slimline sized, I chose to use goodies from Divinity Designs LLC to create this card for my honey.  Since it is hard to guess when we might be able to go on a cruise vacation again, due to the pandemic, I created this tropical card for him.  He loves wearing Hawaiian shirts on vacation, so I chose this fun pineapple design from the 'Cool and Casual' Paper Pad; the dark green paper is from the 'Rustic Christmas' Slimline Paper Pad.  The image is from 'Bon Voyage', stamped with Stazon Jet Black, then sponged with yellow, orange and pink.  Here are the dies I used: I Love You, Pierced Circles, Circles, Slimline Card Base, and Slimline Rectangles.

I'm Not Crazy

Hi, everyone!  This week's Ways To Use It Challenge theme is 'Snip and Cut'....use decorative scissors, scissor techniques, or fussy cut.....I chose the latter since I do it often!  My card today was created for a friend at work who LOVES 'The Big Bang Theory' and quotes this line from Sheldon often.  The stamp set is called 'Bazinga' from Ink Road Stamps.  The couch was fussy cut, colored with Cajun Craze, then coated with a clear glaze pen so that it looks like leather.  The pillows were colored with markers to look just like the pillows on the show.  I found a strip of designer paper for the rug.  Side note: any of you who have never watched 'The Big Bang Theory', PLEASE start with season one and binge all twelve seasons.....I promise you will love it!!!!!!!!!

You're Moo-valous!

Hi, everyone!  I tend to go overboard when creating samples for the Sketch Challenges over at Splitcoast, but this week I was successful at creating a simple and quick design!  This designer paper pattern from the 'Weathered Wood Collection' by Divinity Designs LLC was absolutely PERFECT for the sketch.  I just had to use the 'Hogs and Kisses' sentiments and the cute cow from 'Farm Friends' Stamp/Die Duos set.  The panels were cut with the Squares Dies, sponged while still in the die to keep the white frame, matted with Cajun Craze, and popped up with foam tape. This card will go into my birthday card stash until I find the perfect recipient!

Metallic Butterfly Birthday Wishes

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from the Tim Holtz Sizzix Pinterest board.....I thought this card was super cool! Instead of a snowflake, my card has a layered metallic butterfly cut from copper, gold, silver, and black mirror paper with the Butterfly Layering Combo Dies from Divinity Designs LLC.  The background panel was cut with the Pierced Rectangles Dies and spritzed heavily with Copper Glimmer Mist, layered on a Matting Rectangle.  The sentiment and dies are from Wonky Wishes.  Under the sentiment strip are three strands of metallic cord: copper, gold, and silver to coordinate with the butterfly.  The card base was cut with the A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer Dies set.

The Simple Things In Life

Hi, everyone!  This week's Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoast is another "double dare"......simply create a card with this layout on the front....OR try a 'Die Cut Gate Fold' with a Belly Band, which is what I did!  Check out the tutorial HERE.  I saw some pretty Prima butterfly paper in my stash which hasn't seen the light of day for several years so I chose it for my panel layers, along with some Bordering Blue cardstock from my beloved retired Stampin Up stash.  The butterfly sentiment panel was cut with the mat from the Fancy Fritillary Dies (by Divinity Designs LLC); the sentiment is from 'Little Things'.  The shape was cut from white, sponged with yellow and peach, dotted with a white gel pen, then layered onto a mat which I traced and cut out by hand.  Blue pearls were added for a simple embellishment.  Other dies used from Divinity Designs LLC: Leafy Edged Borders Dies, Pierced Rectangles, and Belly Band.
