A Year Full of Adventures

Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Caterina aka caterinafmig......congrats, Caterina! When I saw this awesome card in her gallery, my first thought was to create something tropical, however, when I looked at the calendar pages in my stash, I chose this camping scene with all of the orange tones and the sun. This was perfect to create a birthday card for my nephew who loves the outdoors! Using the recycled calendar pages makes card-making so quick and easy...I love it!! The scene was cut out with a Pierced Rectangle Die then placed in my MISTI in order to stamp the sentiment which is from 'Happy Trails'. (Since the paper is a bit slick, the MISTI lets you stamp multiple times to get good ink coverage.) Other dies used were the Matting Rectangle and A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer. Some linen thread was added for a simple embellishment.

Happy BEE-lated Birthday

Hi, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from Primitives by Kathy...I loved these coffee tumblers with the bees and awesome blue background...if I didn't already have a Yeti coffee cup, I would buy these! My card today is a mini slimline design, a belated birthday card for my sister-in-law. The sentiment is from 'Bee Mine', the honeycomb paper and bee paper is from the 'Buzzing Gnomes' Paper/Die Duos set. After finishing the sentiment panel, I saw the small scalloped die in the set and cut out one of the cute bees with it for an extra embellishment. The mustard grosgrain ribbon was added for balance and the bow was tied with a Bow Easy.  The following Divinity Designs LLC custom dies were also used: Mini Slimline Card Base, Mini Slimline Scalloped Rectangles, Mini Slimline Rectangles, Scalloped Circles, and Circles. Blending Brushes were used for the sentiment panel and the layers were popped up with Foam Mounting Tape.

With Deepest Sympathy

Hi, everyone!  This week's Ways To Use It Challenge theme over at Splitcoast is 'Make It Monochrome'.  This card was designed around my fave Stampin Up color, Blackberry Bliss....yummy!!  This gorgeous floral pattern from the 'Beauty in Bloom' Paper Pad matched the cardstock beautifully.  The Spiral Sphere Die, top layer of the 'With Deepest Sympathy' and Layers Dies, plus the square mat were all cut from a shimmery white cardstock.  Other dies used: Double Stitched Squares, Squares, Square Card Base with Layer; Foam Mounting Tape was used to pop up the die cut frame (created by nesting two stitched dies) and sentiment.

God Made The Horse

Happy Saturday, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from Lumas.....when I saw this awesome photo, it reminded me of one of the calendar pages I saved from last year. This was perfect to make a birthday card for my horse-loving niece! The scene from the calendar page was cut with a Pierced Rectangle Die, layered on an ivory panel cut with a Matting Rectangle.  The quote is from 'Saddle Up'; (stamps and dies are from Divinity Designs LLC)'.  Brown gingham ribbon was added for the finishing touch; a Bow Easy was used for the bow.

The sentiment is from the 'Perk Up' Stamp/Die Duos set.  Other dies used: Slimline Grasses, Slimline Card Base, Slimline Scalloped Rectangles, Slimline Pierced Rectangles, Slimline Pierced Layering Rectangles, Clouds and Raindrops (tiny hearts).  Foam Mounting Tape was used to pop up the gnomes.
