A Great Big Happy Birthday "Smooch"

This is a birthday card I made for my Mother-in-law, Jean! I am so blessed to have such wonderful, loving in-laws who treat me like a daughter, not just a daughter-in-law! I chose this Basic Grey Wisteria paper since it has her favorite colors....blues and purples, plus I wanted to try out some of the new Smooch colors!! And this watering can bouquet from the ODBD set, "Happy Birthday" is so detailed and so fun to paint!!! The image was stamped with Stazon Jet Black and painted totally with Smooch Pearlized Paints. If you've never heard of Smooch before, check out the Smooch Product Review and Tutorial I did for Our Daily Bread designs.

Today's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use one of the GORGEOUS items from the Franz Porcelain collection.....get your drool bib ready!! I chose this gorgeous vase because of the beautiful colors and flowers. I have also used Julia's Ways to Use It challenge, to use purples on your project. Moxie Fab World has a "Plum" challenge going on until November 16th. And lastly, Alisa gave us the most awesome sketch this week over at Christian Paper Crafts, so I HAD to use it.....perfect for extra butterflies!!! Speaking of Christian Paper Crafts, we would LOVE for you to join us......what a wonderful, inspirational community there! Check out Natalie's Book of John study, Marcelle's Daily Bread devotionals, weekly paper-crafting challenges, and much more!!

Thanks for stopping by today! Come on back tomorrow morning at 8:00 EST for the ODBD Blog Hop and Scripture "Scavenger Hunt" contest!!! Have a blessed day!!!

Bible Verse Thursday.... "Saved"

This week's Bible Verse Thursday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts is to use a verse about being saved, plus use an item that you have been hoarding in your stash for a special occasion. Most of you will probably use a verse about Jesus and how he has saved us through his sacrifice, so why not use your special supplies just for Him?

I have used Matthew 1:21 from a new set, "Christmas Verses", which will be released November 1st from Our Daily Bread Designs. The items I have been saving in my stash are the brass brads and copper cord. The gorgeous designer paper is SEI "Moravia", the ribbon is May Arts, and the whole card was sprayed with "Irridescent Gold" Glimmer Mist. Click on the photo for a closer look since the Glimmer Mist is camera shy!!

I have also used Roxie's sketch challenge from Splitcoast this week. Check it out HERE.

Don't forget....ODBD Blog Hop and contest on Sunday, November 1st! Be there, or be......the one who doesn't win the prizes!!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!! Many blessings to you!

3M Post-it Craft Paper and ODBD Sneak Peek

Here is another project I made for the vendor spotlight on Christian Paper Crafts, using the new 3M Post-it Craft Paper. This paper is like a full page Post-it note, but in a variety of colors. It can be used in your Cricut, or in your die-cut machine, or used with punches. The olive layers shown on my card are the 3M paper, cut with punches and Spellbinders Nesties. The white panel is actually stamped vellum adhered to the sticky-side of the 3M paper.....who needs a sticker maker when you have 3M Post-it paper? No vellum adhesive marks this way!!! The vellum and 3M paper stayed together beautifully, even after die-cutting and embossing!!! See additional photos HERE. Also at CPC today, Heather's Color Monday challenge is to use monochromatic colors of green, brown, or pink.....couldn't resist but include her challenge in this card!

This poinsettia is a sneak peek of a November release from Our Daily Bread Designs called "Blessed Christmas". The leaves were colored with a marker; the flower was colored with a Stardust Gelly Roll Glitter Pen to match the glittery SEI designer paper. Click on the photo for a close-up!

Stay tuned this week for more sneak peeks from ODBD and exciting info about a Blog Hop AND another Design Team challenge......both with awesome prizes!!!! Woo hoo!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!! Have a blessed week!!!

Que Sera Challenge Combo

My card today covers four challenges from this week.....I was so happy to be able to play today since I was out of town all last weekend, working at a stamp show for Our Daily Bread designs. I was so excited to be able to use this K and Co "Que Sera" paper for the first time today....it's so funky and colorful!!! Heather's Color Monday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts was to use Bashful Blue, Barely Banana, and Pumpkin Pie. Today at CPC is the Saturday Case Artist challenge.....today's featured artist is sewstampfun....I chose this card.....loved the simple style, plus I wanted to incorporate Julia's Ways To Use It Challenge from Splitcoast, to make a patchwork card. Lastly, Stef's Inspiration Challenge over at SCS was to choose an item from Anthropologie for your inspiration. I loved these funky reading glasses and they also matched the colors I wanted to use.

The verse I used is from "With Heartfelt Sympathy" from Our Daily Bread Designs. Stay tuned for some sneak peeks of November releases.....just received my stamps 10 minutes ago...yay!!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a blessed weekend!!!!

Smooch + Crackle Accents = Icy Goodness!

This card was a total blast to make!!!! I've been trying to figure out a way to get the shimmery look of an icy pond.....with three easy steps, I "got 'er done!!" Please see the Product Review for Ranger Crackle Accents HERE on the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog for the whole enchilada! I started with watercolor paper, sponged night of navy ink, painted half of it with Moonlight Smooch, then coated the "Smooched" area with Crackle Accents. I also painted the trees and ground with Smooch for some extra shimmer and dotted it to make the snow as well. The designer paper I chose is Basic Grey "Marrakech" and the pearls are Basic Grey Opaline Pearls, which come in many gorgeous colors! This scene and sentiment are from the October ODBD release called "With Deepest Sympathy". Once again I'm going to mention how versatile the stamp sets are from Our Daily Bread Designs....I have made several non-sympathy cards from the new sympathy sets this month. Kelley does such a fabulous job at choreographing each set!!

Thanks for stopping by today!!! Stay tuned next week for some November sneak peeks!!!!

Bible Verse Thursday - Recycled and Renewed

This week's Bible Verse Thursday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts is to use something recycled on your project, plus use a verse about being reborn or renewed. I chose one of my fave verses, Isaiah 40:31.

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

For the recycled items, I used an old manilla folder to cut the Nestie scalloped circle and Lattice Borderabilities. The scalloped circle was embossed with the new Cuttlebug "Victoria" embossing folder, then was saturated with "Suede" Glimmer Mist. The rest of the card was sprayed with "Irridescent Gold" Glimmer Mist. This designer paper is K and Company "Madeline", the pearls are Basic Grey Opaline, and the border punch is Martha Stuart's Doily Lace.

I also used Alisa's sketch challenge this week......check it out HERE. I noticed that Korin's Sweet Stop Sketch this week also incorporates recycling.....but I already had my heart set on Alisa's sketch from Christian Paper Crafts.

Hey, while you're over at Christian Paper Crafts today, check out the new profile badges to dress up your profile line.....you can even send them to other members as gifts!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!! Have a blessed day!!

Bible Verse Thursday Challenge - Seasons

This week's Bible Verse Thursday challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts is to use a fall theme and a verse about seasons. My inspiration for this challenge is two-fold: first, this time of the year with all of the amazing colors outside just reminds me how good our God is. He helps us transition into winter, with beauty and peace, just like in the transition from life to death. Secondly, I have been spending more and more time in the Word and am finding so much peace there. Reading in Psalm Chapter one, I fell in love with these first three verses:

"1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."

The law was given to us as a gift to help us live a healthy and blessed life. So many promises and blessings if we just follow His "Ultimate Guidebook to Life".

In the making of this card, I have used Alisa's Sketch Tuesday layout plus Lynn's Technique Lover's Challenge from Splitcoast to make an easel card. It was so fun and so easy....you'll have to give it a try!! The verse I printed from my pc, the designer paper is "Indian Summer" from Basic Grey, the border punch is Martha Stuart Doily Lace, the button is also Basic Grey.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Many blessings to you!

Busy Weekend!

I love that I am part of a large family, however, when "birthday season" comes around, I am one busy girl!!!

This card (I wanted to keep for myself) I made for my brother, Patrick. Pat is super cool and sweet and has a very creative style. So, I wanted to make a card for him that was cool. I just LOVE this dsp from Making Memories (I found the paper plus matching ribbon and brads in the clearance section at Archiver's!) The design was cased from Cindy Coutts, founder of Christian Paper Crafts....Cindy was the featured artist Saturday at CPC! I chose this fun card to case. I have also entered this in the "Gradient is Radiant" challenge on Moxie Fab World's blog.

This card I made for my brother, Sean, who is one of my heroes in that he does not let fear keep him from stepping out in faith in anything that he does. In the making of his card, I did a tutorial for Christian Paper Crafts, showing how to use the new 3M Post-It Craft Paper for masking. Though crafters love using this paper in their Cricut, I wanted to show how well it works for masking! The stamped images and sentiment are from the "With Heartfelt Sympathy" set from Our Daily Bread Designs......don't you love the versatility of their sets? I love that I can make birthday or uplifting cards with ODBD's sympathy sets!!!

My last card today was made for my little sis, Rebecca. Her fave colors are hot pink and black.....and what teenage girl doesn't like sparkle? My camera did not tell the truth here, but this card is saturated with Pearl Glimmer Mist!!! I used Heather's Color Monday challenge over at CPC: pink, olive, and lt blue.

Heaven Scent Birthday

Happy, Happy Birthday to my dear friend, Lorelie!!!! I hope your day is totally blessed!!!!!
(Had to take care of the important stuff first!!!)
In the making of Lorelie's birthday card, I used the sketch challenge from Splitcoast this week. I've been hoarding this gorgeous K and Co "Wild Raspberry" dsp for a special occasion....today is the day! The sentiment is from one of my fave SU sets, Heaven Scent. Though not very visible, I sprayed everything with Pearl Glimmer Mist....after all, Lorelie IS the Glimmer Girl!!! I've been calling her this for months and Tattered Angels figured it out too.....she's the featured artist for October!!! Check out Lorelie's work HERE!

My next project is a nameframe I made for a friend to give as a new baby gift. Though I knew the color scheme, I was having trouble coming up with a plan UNTIL I saw Stef's Inspiration Challenge. These coasters reminded me of some gorgeous dsp I had in my stash that would match the baby's room perfectly! The letters are Sizzix Lollipop, the borders were punched with Martha Stuart doily lace, the satin ribbon is May Arts, the pearls are Basic Grey Opaline, and the entire thing was saturated with my fave.....Pearl Glimmer Mist!!! (Darn, that stuff will NOT photograph!)

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a blessed weekend!!!

Congratulations! The Grand Prize Winner of the stamp set donated by Our Daily Bread Designs will be announced later this morning on "Wait For The Lord CARDS"! I'm so excited....can't wait to see who the winner is!!

Today is Bible Verse Thursday over at Christian Paper Crafts. Since I have been reflecting a lot lately about my life....where I have been and where the Lord is leading me to, I decided to make today's challenge about reflections. Very loose rules for this one: either use a scene with a reflection plus a verse, or choose a scripture which causes reflection in you.....let the Lord lead you wherever you wish to go with this!

For my card today, I have used a new set from Our Daily Bread Deisgns, called "With Deepest Sympathy". I LOVE the versatility of all of the ODBD sets....the scenes and scriptures can be used for so many more things than their titles!! Using masking, I colored the scene with sponge daubers and ink pads; popped up the images with foam tape for dimension. The cardstock is SU retired Vintage Violet; the designer paper and brads are Basic Grey "Wisteria".

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a blessed day!!

"Wait For The Lord Cards" First Blog Hop

The past year the Lord has opened doors for me that I could never imagine. I've always known that I was supposed to help others with their health through essential oils, herbs, and vitamins, however, I now know that I am equipped to lead others to Christ. After being re-baptized last year, my life started changing.....the Lord has blessed me with several opportunities to do what I love, which is stamping, while lifting up and encouraging others at the same time. When Kelley from Our Daily Bread Designs invited me to be on the DT, I was totally floored....months later another surprise from Cindy at Christian Paper Crafts.....now I am totally blessed to be a part of something huge..."Wait For The Lord Cards"! Chelsea Cook, whose love for Jesus is such an inspiration for me, founded "Wait For The Lord Wednesday", a weekly card give-away to someone in need. This wonderful endeavor which Chelsea started has turned into quite a ministry which I am certain will continue to grow each week. There is a now a team of Christian ladies who are helping in this ministry. If you would like to donate cards (or stamps) to fill the prayer requests received, please contact Chelsea HERE.

Now, on to the BLOG HOP!!! If you have hopped here from "Wait For The Lord Cards", you are in the right place! If you are here by chance, please start HERE at the beginning to hear all of the beautiful details from Chelsea.
Kelley from Our Daily Bread Designs has sponsored our first Blog Hop! Just leave a comment on each blog by 11:59 CST October 7; each winner will be announced on Thursday morning, October 8.

Your next stop will be with HEATHER. I pray that this blog hop will be a blessing to you! (In case there are any missing links, please go to Wait For The Lord Cards for the complete hop list.)
