Hoppy Birthday x 2

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Marlease aka Lease.....congrats, Marlease!!  I loved this pair of guy cards she created with a whiskey set....I didn't have any whiskey stamps, so I created two cards with the 'Here's To You' stamp set and 'Frosty Beer Mug' Die-namics from MFT.  The first card is fairly simple and flat for mailing.  The kraft card base was stenciled with the Small Brick Wall Stencil, plus the edges of the card were sponged.  The beer mug was cut from white vellum, the beer insert was copper metallic and the foam was cut from Shimmery White.  The pieces of the beer mug were turned into stickers with my Xyron Sticker Maker.  The sentiment was placed in my MISTI and stamped several times to make sure the ink coverage was complete.

The 2nd card will not be mailed, so I used the mug die to cut a foam sheet then adhered the layers to it. Instead of stenciling the whole card, a small piece of ivory cardstock was stenciled, cut out with the Pierced Rectangles Dies from Divinity Designs LLC, and the beer is sitting on a small navy blue panel cut with the Sentiment Strips Dies.  The edges of the card were sponged to give some extra dimension. The MISTI was used with navy ink for stamping the sentiment.

Happy Birthday Balloon

Hi, everyone!  This week's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use Geometric Shapes on your project.  I used lots of circles!!  I loved the colors in this one piece of designer paper from Pretty Patterns 3 from Divinity Designs LLC, so I layered all three dies from the Mini Slimline Pierced Frames Dies and cut them at the same time.  Foam Mounting Tape was added, then the center frame was flipped to make an alternating color pattern.  The sentiment from Happy Trails was stamped onto peach cardstock then cut out with the Sentiment Strips Dies.  The balloon from the Birthday Balloons Dies set was cut out of peach and stenciled with the same colors in the designer paper. Baker's Twine was added as a finishing touch. Other dies used: Mini Slimline Scalloped Rectangles, Mini Slimline Card Base.

So Grateful For You

Hi, everyone!  Today I would like to share a card created for my niece's 18th birthday.  I used the February Inspiration Challenge from Altenew to help with the color choices. The large flowers are from the  'Nostalgic Florals' Complete Bundle, the background 'floral spray' is from the 'Beauty Within' set, and the sentiment is from 'Bold Sentiments'. The Cherry Blossom enamel dots were a free gift with my last order....yay!  The flowers were stamped with Stazon Jet Black, the flower centers and stamen were colored with a yellow marker then coated with a clear glaze pen as a resist; the flowers and leaves were colored with sponges using coordinating stencils, then cut out with the matching dies.  The sentiment and mat were cut out with the Sentiment Strips Dies from Divinity Designs LLC.

Sending You Strength

Hi, everyone!  Today I would like to share a card created for two challenges over at MFT, the Color Challenge 206 and Sketch Challenge 633.  This card began as a rare 'just for fun' card and had the card mostly completed when I got unfortunate news that I needed to send out a sympathy card for a friend.  Instead of using a sentiment from the 'Spread Your Wings' set, I chose a more thoughtful sentiment from 'Essential Sentiments'.  The butterflies were stamped with Stazon Jet Black onto ivory cardstock; a clear glaze pen was used as a resist, then the butterflies were sponged with the three colors for the challenge, then fussy cut and popped up with foam tape. The designer paper is also from MFT but is now retired. (I love getting good deals from the Clearance section!)

On Eagle's Wings

Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Pam MacKay.....congrats, Pam!!! I chose this awesome card from Pam's gallery.  For my card, I combined two stamp sets from Divinity Designs LLC: On Eagles' Wings and Keep Climbing. The mountain stamp was put in my MISTI, each section was colored with markers before stamping; it took a couple tries to get the inks dark enough.  The eagle was stamped in Stazon Jet Black, colored with sponges and markers, fussy cut, then popped up with Foam Mounting Tape.  The clouds were created with a Blending Brush and a die cut cloud, cut with the Clouds and Raindrops Dies.  The dies used for this card are: Pierced Rectangles Dies, Matting Rectangle, and A2 Landscape Card Base with Layer.

Happy New Year Cards

Hi, everyone!  This week's Ways To Use It Challenge theme is 'Warm and Cozy'....I didn't get a chance in December to post photos of all of the Happy New Year cards mailed out, so now is a good time.  I borrowed this fun idea from Lori Helling's blog post here. My cards are not all the same since I goofed when cutting my cardstock....I had the templates backwards on some! :p  The sentiment from 'Snowy Blessings' is the same on each card (thanks to my MISTI, twenty cards were stamped in no time!!), the designer papers are all from Divinity Designs LLC: Rustic Christmas and Christmas Collection 2018. Though not very visible, the ends of the scarfs were fringed with scissors. Instead of bling, the 'buttons' were made with a small circle punch so that the cards were completely flat for mailing.

Another Recycled Calendar Card

Hi, everyone!  Today I would like to share a quick card created for the Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoast.  I used a page from last year's sunset calendar for this card.  The scene was cut with a Pierced Rectangle Die from Divinity Designs LLC, a section was cut out of the center at an angle according to the Sketch Challenge layout, then matted onto a panel cut with the Matting Rectangle.  The sentiment is from MFT; my MISTI was used to line up the stamp and to make sure the inking of the stamp was complete. Brass brads were added before adhering to the card panel.

Let Your Light Shine

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Janine aka Jay_Bee....congrats, Janine!!  I chose this awesome lantern card to case today.  Instead of creating the lantern by hand, I used the Shining Light Lantern Die Set, a scripture stamp from the 'My Light' set, and a sunset pattern from the Landscapes Paper Pad.  For the inside of the lantern, instead of die-cutting and layering the flames, I created stencils with the dies and sponged the colors so that the scripture verse could be stamped onto the panel.  The panel was temporarily adhered to the designer paper and the light rays were sponged over scratch paper to match the sun rays in the background.  The designer paper panel was cut with the Pierced Rectangles Dies, matted with the Matting Rectangle, black brads added to the corners, then adhered to the card which was cut with the A2 Portrait Card Base and Layer Dies. Normally I would have used Foam Mounting Tape to pop up the lantern but I wanted it to be flat for mailing.

Beautiful Bunny

Hi, everyone!  My clean and simple card today was created for both the Color Challenge (Poppy Parade, Pool Party, and Crumb Cake) and the Ways To Use It 'Bunny' Challenge over at Splitcoast this week.  The stamps and dies used are from My Favorite Things. The images were stamped with Stazon Jet Black onto watercolor paper, then cut out with coordinating dies.  The bunny and tire were water-colored and the flowers and butterfly were colored with markers.
