Hi, everyone! This week's Clean and Simple Challenge over at Splitcoast is to focus on backgrounds, whether it be designer paper, background technique, embossing folder, etc. I chose to use some gorgeous new designer paper from the ODBD Wedding Wishes Paper Collection, along with an upcoming stamp set, called 'Happily Ever After'. The designer paper was cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies and matted with the largest die from the ODBD Custom Snowflake Sky Dies. It's crazy how quick and easy this card was to make. One stamp, two dies, and designer paper....I will definitely make more like this!!

The Extra Mile
Hi, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from Audrie's 'Beautiful Baskets' Pinterest Board. I absolutely LOVE the colors in this gorgeous basket! The design of this card began with the fun and colorful alphabet designer paper from the Artistic Outpost 'Vagabond Treasures' Paper Collection, which led to plum cardstock and mustard ink for sponging. This new 'School Bus Driver' set by Our Daily Bread designs is so fun! The bus was stamped on yellow and again on white so that I could cut out and paper piece the sections together. The sentiment was stamped on panels cut with the ODBD Custom Pennant Flags Dies (the top pennant was re-sized to fit the word perfectly).

A Friend Loves At All Times
Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Shirley N aka snn....congrats, Shirley! I chose this awesome CAS card from Shirley's gallery to recreate. I used the 'To My Friend' set and the 'Birthday Brights' Paper Collection, both by Our Daily Bread designs. The dandelion images were first inked in yellow and mustard using the 'rock and roll' technique, then with light and dark gray. A small strip of designer paper was adhered to the card base, then the top panel was popped up with foam tape.

Anchor of My Soul
Hi, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge is to find inspiration from Autumn's Sew Paper Paint Blog.....wow, I'm an instant Fan Girl....her work is amazing!!!!! I was super inspired by her vintage creations and awesome techniques and will go back to do some studying, but for today's challenge, I chose this awesome card for my inspiration. I chose to use the 'You Anchor Me' Stamp/Die Duos set from Our Daily Bread designs to match the same layout features. Since I need two masculine birthday cards, I decided to make two of the same card but different colors. Instead of watercoloring the background, I used sponges to blend the colors, then spritzed with water and flicked larger droplets with a paintbrush. Once dry, the scripture was stamped and the panels were cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies, then matted with black.

Mother's Day Blessings
Hi, everyone! This week's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is to make a normal card for you, but with less layers....a more simple version. I went very CAS with my Mother's Day cards this year, but I really like how they turned out. The kraft card base was stamped in Versamark with the Pussy-Willow Background; the buds were painted with Pearl Glimmer Mist. I cut three strips of white cardstock, sponged kraft and aqua ink over them, then created the borders by cutting them with the ODBD Custom Flower Lattice Die (since the die cuts' edges are a bit delicate, I sponged the colors before cutting so I wouldn't bend the edges.) The die was adhered to aqua cardstock then the edges were trimmed with paper snips. The sentiment is from 'Mother's Day'. (All stamps and die are from Our Daily Bread designs.) Three brown pearls were added for a simple embellishment.

Our Daily Bread designs May New Releases
Hi, everyone! Welcome to the Our Daily Bread designs May New Release party!!! This month's theme is about school, Sunday School, teachers, and bus drivers.....see all of the super fun stamps and dies HERE. If you'd like a chance to win some goodies, please follow the instructions below:
* Cathy * Kathy * Dawn * Sandee * Angie (me) * Julie * Lisa *
* Chris * Diana * Robin * Sabrina * Helen * Lori *
Here are the new and previously released items used in my projects for today:
For my first card, I used the fun new 'School Bus Driver' set, but transformed the 'School Bus' into a 'Church Bus' by stamping individual letters with the 'Pennant Swag Alphabet' set. After the letters were stamped, the rectangle was cut out then the edges were lined with a black marker. The bus was stamped on red cardstock and again on white so that the various pieces could be cut out and paper-pieced together. The stop sign was white embossed on white, then colored with a red marker, cut out and adhered. Red and yellow gemstones were added for the lights at the top. The fun designer paper is from the ODBD Americana Quilt Paper Collection; the panels were cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Squares Dies and ODBD Custom Squares Dies.
Next up is a bookmark and card which was created with the new 'Sunday School Teacher' set and the coordinating ODBD Custom Crosses Dies.
I fell in love with this designer paper from the Artistic Outpost 'Vagabond Treasures' Paper Collection, so I based my color scheme around it. The cross and sentiment from 'Sunday School Teacher' were heat embossed with espresso powder onto ivory cardstock. The cross was cut out with the ODBD Custom 'Crosses' Dies; the sentiment panel was cut from the ODBD Custom 'Ornate Ovals Dies'; both were popped up with foam tape. Dark brown embroidery thread was braided for both the card and bookmark. The ODBD Custom Deco Border Die was cut from ivory and sponged with rust and brown.
For the bookmark, the same piece of designer paper was used with the ODBD Custom Bookmarks Dies; the mat was trimmed by hand. As with the card, the scripture and cross were heat embossed. Instead of using a brad for the center of this cross, I used a metallic cut out from a previous project so that the bookmark would be flat inside the Bible or whichever book the recipient chooses to read.
Thanks for hanging out with me and my Sistah Sticks today!
God bless!
