Clean and Simple Thank You Card Set

Hi everyone! Today I would like to share another Sneak Peek for the upcoming June 1st new release from Our Daily Bread designs.  A friend at work needed some thank you cards to send to her church friends who helped their family in a time of need, so I was happy to be able to come up with a clean and simple design for these.

I started out with white cardstock, embossed one corner with the "Elegant Bouquet" Embossing Folder by Stampin Up, stamped the scripture verse from the new "Thank You" set, rounded the bottom corners, sprayed with "Pearl" Glimmer Mist, then highlighted the flower centers with Stardust Stickles.  The cards and envelopes fit perfectly in a re-purposed clear stamp box.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Thank You' (available June 1st);
Cardstock: Stampin Up Whisper White;
Ink: Stazon Jet Black;
Accessories: CM Corner Rounder, Stickles, 'Pearl' Glimmer Mist;
Size: A2.

Thanks for visiting!  Just two more days until the June New Release Blog Hop from ODBD...woo hoo!!

Have a very blessed day!

Shabby Chic Butterfly Heart

Hi everyone!

Since tomorrow is a holiday, I'm staying up late!!!  Woo hoo!

The Clean and Simple Challenge at Splitcoast is Love. Plus, the Technique's Lovers Challenge is to use "distressing" on your card.....I didn't use a distressing tool, but I inked the edges of the butterflies and Kraft panel....hope that's okay 'cause using a distressing tool (or a sanding block) gives my spine a tingle!!! Eek!  The Our Creative Corner Challenge is Shabby Chic.

This is a birthday card I made for a friend at work.....the "Friendship" set by Our Daily Bread designs was perfect for this butterfly heart!!!  I know....two pink cards in a row, but sometimes I just can't help myself.....there is something about Stampin Up's Pink Pirouette that flips my switch!!! :)

Card details:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs "Friendship";
Cardstock: Stampin Up Pink Pirouette, Crumb Cake, Whisper White:
Designer Paper: Basic Grey "Capella" designer paper;
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Chocolate Chip;
Accessories: Polka Dot Embossing Folder, CM Corner Rounder, Zva Creative Pearl, Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch, "Pearl" Glimmer Mist, Paper Piercer and template.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit!  See you tomorrow!!  God bless!

Our Daily Bread designs "For The Love Of...." Blog Hop!

Happy Thursday, everyone!!!  Woo hoo, it's time for another Our Daily Bread designs "For the Love Of...." Blog Hop, hosted by our fabulous Alumni Team, and joined by some of the Design Team and Challenge Team!!!  The theme this time around is "For the Love Of.....Celebrations!"  During the hop today, you will see many different types of celebratory projects, for example, weddings, babies, graduations, anniversaries, and so on!   For a chance to win, hop to each of the blogs, leave a comment on each, then head to the ODBD Blog to let us know that you have hopped to each spot.  You have until Wednesday, June 6th at 6pm EST to complete the hop!

By the way, if you have hopped here from Sabrina's fabulous blog, you are right where you want to be.  If you just stopped by for a visit, please make sure you head over to the ODBD Blog and start at the beginning and to see all of the deets, including the entire link list.

For my hop sample today, I have used the "Love" set, shown below, in order to make a 20th Anniversary card for my hubby!  Since we celebrated our anniversary by going on a cruise, I thought a beach scene card would be appropriate.

The main panel of my card was cut at 5-3/8 square (since the card base itself was 5-1/2 square).  I placed a scratch paper mask just about half way down the panel, and sponged the water first.  Using the same ink, I sponged clouds over a punched scallop circle, then used a Stamp-a-ma-jig stamp positioner to stamp the sentiment from the "Count The Waves" set.  The beach was created by cutting a piece of Kraft cardstock, then the top edge was torn for an uneven look.  The "Happy Anniversary" sentiment was stamped onto the cardstock, adhered to the main panel, then the shell sticker was added.  Ultrafine Flower Soft "Sand" was then used to cover the Kraft panel all over so that the sentiment looks as though it was written in the sand.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Love' and 'Count The Waves';
Cardstock: Stampin Up Early Espresso (BROWN), Whisper White, and Crumb Cake (Kraft);
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Stampin Up Pool Party;
Accessories: May Arts Twill Ribbon, Stampin Up Buttons, Baker's Twine, Sea Shell Sticker, Ultrafine 'Sand' Flower Soft, Flower Soft Glue, Paper Piercer and Template, Foam Tape, Sponge Dauber;
Size: 5-1/2 x 5-1/2.

I have included the Perfect Sentiments Challenge also, which was to create a masculine card, with a sentiment of your feelings, plus no designer paper.

Now, the moment you've been waiting for....on with the hop!!!!!

Your next stop with be with the uber-talented Lori!!!  Enjoy the rest of the hop!!!!

God bless!

Light of the Lord - ODBD Sketch Challenge!

Hi everyone! Have you seen this week's Shining The Light Sketch Challenge over at Our Daily Bread designs?! There are so many different ways this sketch can be interpreted...I had fun with it while I was making this card for a dear friend and co-worker.  Instead of using rectangles behind the main panel, I used a Spellbinders Labels 8 die with My Mind's Eye designer paper, then cut the panel in half. The image and scripture from "The Light of Life" was also framed with the Labels 8 set.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Light of Life';
Cardstock: Stampin Up Always Artichoke and Whisper White;
Designer Paper: My Mind's Eye;
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Stampin up Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze, Barely Banana, Going Gray, Creamy Caramel;
Accessories: Spellbinders Labels 8, Stampin up Artichoke Denim Ribbon, paper piercer, foam tape, sponge daubers;
Size: 5-1/2 x 4-1/2.

On the inside of the card, I used a strip of the leftover designer paper for a little extra "oompf"! Using those extra strips keeps my dsp scrap heap from taking over my room! :)

Thanks for stopping by today!  God bless!

Breakers Of The Sea

Happy Monday, everyone!!  Today's Technique Lover's Challenge over at Splitcoast is to either use a brayer or sponges for your background.  I own a brayer, but it is buried somewhere...or maybe it is hiding since we do not get along....it's jealous of my sponge daubers!  lol!!!  The top of this scene was sponged, using masking, then the scripture from "The Mighty Sea" was stamped in the sunset.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'The Mighty Sea'
Cardstock: Stampin Up Bravo Burgundy, Crumb Cake, and Whisper White;
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Stampin Up markers and ink pads; Accessories: Baker's Twine, Button, Stampin Up Embossing Folder and Corduroy button, sponge daubers, paper piercer and template, foam tape; Size: 5-1/2 x 5-1/2.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a blessed week!!

Butterfly Sympathy Card

Hello, everyone!  I hope your weekend was blessed! I am happy since I got quite a bit done for once.  Half of Saturday was spent cleaning my stamp room, which looked like a tornado zone!  I made a total of  nine cards this weekend....I would say that that is a record for me, however, seven of the nine were very CAS and identical, so I don't think that counts! ;)

This card I made for the Featured Stamper Challenge at Splitcoast....this week's artist is the SUPER SWEET Candace (Mitchell) Pierce, one of my former DT sisters from the Christian Paper Crafts era.  There were several cards I wanted to re-create, but I chose this beauty in order to make a sympathy card for my hair-dresser, who lost her father last week. (I goofed on the sketch a bit....the smaller side was supposed to be on the right....I guess I shouldn't have done this by memory!)

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Scripture Collection 7';
Cardstock: Stampin Up Calypso Coral and Whisper White;
Designer paper: Bo Bunny 'Gabrielle';
Ink: Stazon Jet Black and Stampin Up 'Early Espresso' (sponged edges);
Accessories: Cheery Lynn Designs 'Exotic Butterflies 2' dies, Corner Rounder, paper piercer and template, Zva Creative Pearls, Foam Tape, sponge dauber;
Size: A2.

Thanks for stopping by!  God bless!

It's The Simple Things

Hi everyone!!!  Woo hoo, it's the weekend!!! I love starting off each Saturday with the Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast....this week's challenge is to find inspiration from the Red Envelope online store.  I also wanted to combine the Ways To Use It Challenge, to use opposites on the color wheel, and the Clean and Simple "Three Panel Technique" Challenge.  I chose these gorgeous butterfly feeders since they were opposite colors and this My Mind's Eye designer paper was a perfect match....who said having a room full of designer paper was a bad thing?! :)

Along with the Splitcoast challenges, I have also used the following challenges from Blogland:
Papertake Weekly: "In The Garden";
Pile It On Challenge: Clean and Simple;
Our Creative Challenge: Inspiration Photo with orange and blue.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Little Things';
Cardstock: Stampin Up Tangerine Tango and Whisper White;
Designer Paper: My Mind's Eye 'On The Bright Side - Two';
Ink: Stampin Up Bordering Blue (sponging) and Stazon Jet Black;
Accessories: Stampin Up Linen Thread and button, paper piercer and template;
Size: A2.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a blessed weekend!!
