Bible Verse Thursday Challenge - The Wilderness

Bible Verse Thursday / ODBD Stamping In Time Challenge Combo!

'Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.' Proverbs 31:25-30

Happy Thursday, everyone! This week's Bible Verse Thursday Challenge theme over at Christian Paper Crafts is "Treasure Hunt"....please see the deets below!

"The LORD is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.
And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure." Isaiah 33:5-6

"Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me." Mark 10:21

There are many things here on earth we consider "treasures", however, the true treasure is found through Christ! Today's challenge theme is all about treasure, either the earthly or heavenly kind....things or people in your life that you treasure, words or scripture that you treasure, something you would find in a treasure chest such as gems, gold, pearls, etc. We can't wait to see your take on the challenge!!

Sneak Peek- Design Team Delights Gallery

The DT at CPC has been giving sneak peeks all week to give you a taste of what will be in the DTD gallery....today is my turn for a sneak peek. My card and layers were cut from Spellbinders Blossoms 3 dies, the designer paper is Bo Bunny "Vicki B", the May Arts satin ribbon was tied with a Bow Easy, the pearls are by Zva Creative, and there are several sprays of "Pearl" Glimmer Mist, and the scripture stamp is from last year's release, "Happy Mother's Day". If you would like instructions on how to cut a shaped card with Spellbinders cutting dies, check out this post.

Bible Verse Thursday Challenge - Planting Seeds

"For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands." Isaiah 55:10-12

As we Christians share in our faith, seeds are planted into the hearts and minds of others. It is our joyful duty to plant those seeds....it is up to the Lord whether they grow right away....or lay dormant for a time. We should never be frustrated when they "don't get it", because the Lord did say that His word will not return void. Hallelujah!!!

And so, this week's Bible Verse Thursday Challenge theme at Christian Paper Crafts is "Planting Seeds"! Create a card, layout, altered item, or gift using this theme in any way you choose. Choose your favorite verse which would be good advice (or good seeds, if you will) for a friend or loved one. Use an image of something you plant or what grows because of seeds....veggies, fruits, flowers, etc. Or, if you feel like going over the edge, use real seeds on your project! Let's see your creative take on the challenge....have fun!!

If you are not yet a memeber of Christian Paper Crafts, you can still play along with any of the challenges by linking your project to the Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog.....HERE is a direct link to this week's Bible Verse Challenge. If you haven't had a chance yet to check out our wonderful community at Christian Paper Crafts, you have a chance to sign up as a "Blessed Believer" (general member) for free during Resurrection Week, April 20-27. Why is there normally a fee to become a member, you ask? While the Bible Studies and Daily Devotionals are free to the public, the community forums and galleries were changed to members only first of all to prevent spamming, plus to create a safe environment in which our members share private information through prayer requests and chat forums. Not only is Christian Paper Crafts is a wonderful place to fellowship with other Christians, but there is lots of paper crafting inspiration as well for those who love to bless others with hand made cards and gifts. Come on over and make yourself right at home!!!

ODBD April New Release Blog Hop!!

Happy April 1st, everyone! Hope you make it through the day without any April Fool's tricks!!! No tricks around here.....it's time for the Our Daily Bread designs April New Release Blog Hop....yay!!!! Make sure you check out the New Release post HERE to see all of the new sets, plus a new custom cutting die!!! For my sample today, I have used a fabulous new set, designed by our DT sister, Dawn Lusk, called "Bird and Butterfly Labels". There are four images in this set, which all coordinate with the Spellbinders Labels 18 dies....how cool is that? The designer paper is Memory Box "Frond", the satin ribbon is from Michael's and was tied with a Bow Easy. The cardstock is SU Early Espresso (Brown), the pearls are Zva Creative, and there are several layers of my fave "Pearl" Glimmer Mist. The "Mother" sentiment is from another new April new release, "Mother's Day". Here is a close up which shows off the shimmer from the "Pearl" Glimmer Mist over the panel which was stamped in Stazon Timber Brown and colored with a sponge dauber and Certainly Celery ink pad! My second project was featured on the Our Daily Bread designs blog on Thursday for a "Time With" segment....this time it was my turn! Some of you have already seen the transformation of the $2.50 birdhouse from Target, but if you would like to see the before & afters plus more views, please check out this post.
