Ocean Sunset

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from the At Home online store......I am always drawn to ocean scenes and loved this canvas wall art!  I love how this one image from the Stampin Up 'Waves of Inspiration' stamp set has so many different layers within one piece of rubber!  The wave was placed in my MISTI; a Pool Party ink pad inked the entire image for the first stamping, then different markers were used to highlight different sections of the stamp. A Double Stitched Rectangles Die (from Divinity Designs LLC) cut out the panel; while the die was still in place, Blending Brushes colored the background sunset.  The panel was put back into the MISTI in order to stamp the sentiment.  Coordinating dies were used to cut the seagulls from the blue foil cardstock which came in the bundle. I did not use any other embellishments so that it would be flat for mailing.

God's Glory

Hi, everyone! This week's Ways To Use It Challenge is all about The Wild West. I only had time for a quick CAS card, so I used the image from the 'Howdy' stamp set and the sentiment from the 'Happy Trails' set.  The stamping was done in Stazon Jet Black, then Blending Brushes were used for the background. This will be easy to mail for my brother's birthday.

Relax Your Way

Hi, everyone! This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is perfect for a masculine card: Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Pretty Peacock. I liked this card design so much so I made multiples with different colors; using the MISTI made the duplicates quick and easy! The image from 'A Good Man' by Stampin Up was stamped in Stazon Jet Black, water-colored and sponged, cut out with dies from Divinity Designs LLC, then adhered to a kraft card base with sponged edges.

Sprout, Bloom, Grow

Hi, everyone! This week's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is to get creative with leaves. For my card today, I used leaves to create a border around the image panel. The image from 'Potted Herbs' was stamped with Stazon Jet Black onto a panel of watercolor paper cut out with the Double Stitched Ovals Dies. The sentiment is from 'Sow Seeds' and was cut out with the Sentiment Strips 2 Dies.  I thought the leaves from the Delightful Daisies Dies were similar to the parsley, so I cut out enough to create a wreath.  Each leaf was sponged with a bit of Razzleberry to coordinate with the image and cardstock layer.  The plaid paper is from the 'Garden Gnomes' Paper/Die Duos pack.  Other dies used: Pierced Rectangles, Double Stitched Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, and A2 Portrait Card Base with Layers. (All stamps, dies, and papers are from Divinity Designs LLC.)

Heaven and Nature Sing

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Loretta aka lorettagrace.  I chose this beautiful card from her gallery to recreate. For my card, I used some new goodies from Divinity Designs LLC: Chickadee Calendar stamp set, Petite Plaids Slimline Paper Pad.  Additional items used: Flourishes Embossing Folder, Pierced Rectangles Dies, Matting Rectangle, Sentiment Strips 2, and A2 Landscape Card Base with Layer.  The chickadee was stamped with Stazon Jet Black onto watercolor paper; the beak, feet, eyes, and red berries were colored with markers and sealed with a glaze pen before water-coloring the rest of the image.  Red glitter dots were used to coordinate with the image.

Grateful To Call You Mom

Hi, everyone! This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use Real Red, Lemon Lolly, Pool Party, and Old Olive. I don't have Lemon Lolly yet, so I used Daffodil Delight. This card was created for my Step-Mom. I used some stamps and dies from Papertrey Ink which I picked up earlier this year. All of the flowers and leaves were die cut from white cardstock and colored with sponges or blending brushes....needless to say my hands were super inky!  Multiple flowers were cut out so I will ink up more flowers in different colors and share them with you! The background panel was cut out with the Matting Rectangle Die by Divinity Designs LLC; the Blending Brushes are also from DD.

Birthday Floral

Hi, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from Annie Selke.....I chose this gorgeous photo....the combination of pink and orchid tones in the bouquet got me!  I needed a fairly quick card for my niece, so I stamped the flowers and leaves from the Altenew set, Nostalgic Florals, with pink, then colored the stamen with a yellow marker and sealed them with a clear glaze pen. The coordinating stencils were used to color the images with sponges and Blending Brushes (from Divinity Designs LLC).  A Blending Brush was also used for the edges of the card base. The sentiment is from the XOXO & More Die set from Altenew. Coordinating enamel dots were used for the finishing touch.

Two Challenge Cards

Happy Friday, everyone!  I have two challenge cards to share today.  The Mixability Challenge over at Splitcoast is A Taste of Fall.  For my card, I chose a leafy pattern from the 'Follow the Son' Paper Pad from Divinity Designs LLC.  The rooster from 'Rise and Shine' was stamped in the center with Cajun Craze dye ink, then the sentiment was over-stamped with Stazon Timber Brown.  After coloring the feet and beak with a marker, a clear glaze pen was used to highlight them. Other items used for this card are as follows: Linen Thread, foam tape, sequins, and the following dies from Divinity Designs LLC: Basket Weave Square Background, Squares, Square Card Base with Layer, Double Stitched Circles, Bitty Blossoms.

My second card is for the Friday Free4All Challenge, 'Go To the Corner'. This is a card I made for a co-worker to give to his mother-in-law. All of the products used are from Divinity Designs LLC.  The flowers are from the Beautiful Blossoms 4 Paper/Die Duos set, the floral paper is from the Beautiful Blossoms Set 4 and 5 Coordinating Paper Pad. These are the dies used: Lattice Background, Pierced Ovals, Ovals, Family Names, Matting Rectangle, and A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer.  The satin ribbon was tied with a Bow Easy and foam tape was used to pop up the layers.

Thanks for visiting with me today!

Have a blessed weekend!

Faith Mountain

Hi, everyone!  This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use Pebbled Path, Lost Lagoon, and Wild Wheat.....I do not have these SU colors yet but since I keep all of the retired colors from the past I can always find something similar. I began by choosing sage cardstock for the mountain and card base, then a cool pattern from the Heavenly Skies Slimline Paper Pad.  The sky and the center layer of the mountain was cut from the same piece of dsp. Before adhering the layers of the mountain, the sentiment from 'Move Mountains' was stamped onto the sage layer.  The Get Well sentiment was sponged with three colors to match the dsp, in a gradient fashion. Here are the dies used for this card, all from Divinity Designs LLC: Slimline Mountain Silhouettes, Cowboy and Cactus Silhouettes (birds), Slimline Card Base, Slimline Pierced Rectangles (and Pierced Layering Rectangles), Get Well Soon and Layers.

You Make Me "Toadily" Happy!

Hi, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge is to find inspiration from RebsFabStash.....I saw this adorable frog and thought of these Penny Black stamps which I picked up at a scrapbook store in my first year of stamping; the dragonfly is from Stampendous. This card is for one of my nephews for his birthday. The images and sentiment were stamped in Stazon Jet black onto a panel which was cut out with a Double Stitched Squares Die by Divinity Designs LLC. A clear glaze pen was added to the frog's eyes to protect them from the background inking.  Blending Brushes were used to partially color the background (with the panel still in the die), then the images were colored with markers.  This week's Clean and Simple Challenge theme is 'Fun with Puns', so I will be submitting for that challenge as well.

Divinity Designs LLC October New Release!

Hi, everyone! Welcome to the New Release party for Divinity Designs LLC! Below are just a few of the MANY new goodies from the New Release which I have used in my samples for today. To see them all, please visit the store HERE!
For my first sample, I used blue foil cardstock, white shimmer paper, and silver metallic cardstock to make it as ICY as possible!!  The new Snowflake Layering Combo 2 Dies are so fun!!  I love that you can use as few or as many layers as you want....I only used five of the six.  On the bottom background layer, you can see a hint of a pattern from the Watercolor Winter Slimline Paper Pad....I chose it for the blue tones. The Square Card Base with Layer Die set was used for the card base and the sentiment from the Penguins Stamp/Die Duos set was layered onto a Pierced Circle and Circle for a mat.  A Blending Brush added light blue ink to the panel. Foam Mounting Tape was used for each layer to give dimension.
My second card design was in my mind the moment I saw these awesome Stained Glass Pumpkins Square Card Fronts!  I didn't want to waste any of the scene, so I used three Square Dies to cut apart the scene, lined the edges with a gold pen, then popped them up with Foam Mounting Tape onto a card base cut with the Square Card Base with Layer Die set. The largest panel has one layer of foam tape, the 2nd has 2 and the center has 3 layers.  I chose the Thank You with Layers Dies for the sentiment with gold foil and copper foil cardstock. Three gold brads were added as a simple embellishment.

Sparkly Butterfly Birthday

Hi, everyone! This week's Ways To Use It Challenge over at Splitcoast is to share your projects featuring Stickles, Nuvo Drops, or some type of accent ink. For my card today, I added Stickles to the butterfly and flowers. This is a birthday card for one of my nieces....most little girls love glitter, right? For my card, I used the following items from Divinity Designs LLC: Better Place Stamp/Die Duos set, one die from the Butterfly Trio Dies set, Foam Mounting Tape, Gemstones, and the following dies: Petal Square Background Die, Scalloped Circles, Squares, Square Card Base with Layer.  To save paper, the sentiment was stamped onto the square piece of designer paper, then the center was cut out to layer on the top.  The square panel of dsp was rotated so that the colors were opposite from the sentiment panel.
