Pink Sky Plains

Hi, everyone!  This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use Powder Pink, Moody Mauve, and Night of Navy.  I had a stack of various silhouette images which were already stamped with Stazon Jet Black, so all I had to do was blend the background with the three colors.  The image is from 'Howdy' and the sentiment is from 'Happy Trails', both from Divinity Designs LLC. Three pink milk dots were added for a simple embellishment.  This card with go into my birthday card stash.

Desire of Your Heart

Happy Friday, everyone!  This week's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is to share our graduation cards.  This clean and simple design was created for a co-worker's daughter.  It only took about 15 minutes to complete.....sweet!!  The stamp set I used, 'As You Graduate', is unfortunately retired from Divinity Designs LLC, but it's still a fave of mine because I love to created a blended sky for the background.  I used the MISTI to stamp the scripture verse onto the card base and it took several layers of ink to get a solid black image for the scene.....LOVE my MISTI!!!  For the scene, I used blending brushes and sponge daubers with lavender, orchid, pink, and yellow ink pads.

CAS Blue Floral Thank You Cards

Hi, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast (and my MISTI) helped me to make a group of thank you cards very quickly. I chose this beautiful navy blue floral bedspread for my inspiration piece. I chose the Flowing Flowers set from Stampin Up and Stazon Navy Blue ink. I am hooked on permanent inks for designs like this since the ink dries instantly and doesn't smear. I absolutely hate ruining a card with ink blobs or smears, dont you?! :)

Hee Haw, It's Your Birthday!

Hi, everyone! This week's Ways To Use It Challenge over at Splitcoast is focused on Leap Day....anything that leaps. I needed a couple of boy birthday cards, so I used this fun set, Darling Donkeys, from Stampin Up. The scene was sponged over scratch paper and the images were colored with markers. The clouds on one of the cards were sponged over a stencil made with the Clouds and Raindrops Dies by Divinity Designs LLC; the other just has random sponging. The cards are mostly the same, other than the color of linen thread used at the top.

Hello There

Hi, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge site over at Splitcoast is Real Fabric.....I chose this swatch as inspiration. I used the Stampin Up set, Nature's Prints, and Stazon Teal ink. I made two identical cards thanks to my beloved MISTI (it truly is the Most Incredible Stamping Tool Invented!) Three gems were added as a finishing touch. Both of these cards will go into my birthday card stash.
This is a photo of the fabric I used for inspiration:

Simply Amazing Sunset

Hi, everyone! This week's Ways To Use It Challenge over at Splitcoast is to incorporate elements using the letters L-O-V-E. For my card, L is for lavender sky, O is for ocean, V is vacation, and E is for evening. Time has been very limited for me due to daily overtime at work, so I have been creating a lot of cards from my recycled wall calendars. This card, from start to finish, only took 15 minutes. The sentiment is from Altenew and the following dies from Divinity Designs LLC were used: Pierced Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, A2 Landscape Card Base with Layer.  Some gems were added as a finishing touch.

Life is Beautiful

Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Giovana aka giogio....congrats, Giovana!! I chose this beautiful card to case today for my neice's birthday. The designer paper I chose is from Stampin Up and the stamps are from Altenew. The flowers were stamped with Stazon Jet Black onto watercolor paper, water-colored with an aquabrush, fussy cut, then popped up with foam tape. I also used the following dies from Divinity Designs LLC: Pierced Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer. Baker's twine and faceted gems were added for finishing touches.

Coneflower Thank You

Happy Friday, everyone!  My card today is one of a group of thank you cards created for those who came to support me during my Dad's funeral visitation earlier this week.  I have combined this week's Splitcoast Color Challenge of Vanilla, Melon Mambo, and Pecan Pie, along with the Friday Free4All Challenge, which was to incorporate anything beginning with a 'B'.....brown is my 'B' word.  I have used the 'Nature's Harvest' stamp set by Stampin Up; the image was stamped with Stazon Timber Brown onto ivory cardstock; the petals were water-colored and the leaves were colored with markers.  I used an air-art tool for adding the 'splatters' once the coloring was finished.

Thank you for visiting with me today!

YOUnicorn

Hi, everyone! This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast was perfect for creating a birthday card for my niece. The stamps and dies are from My Favorite Things. The image was colored with markers and then highlighted with a glitter pen, though the glitter did not show up in the photos. I used thin foam tape and sequin stickers so that it wouldn't cost more to mail.

God's Glory

Hi, everyone! This week's Ways To Use It Challenge is all about The Wild West. I only had time for a quick CAS card, so I used the image from the 'Howdy' stamp set and the sentiment from the 'Happy Trails' set.  The stamping was done in Stazon Jet Black, then Blending Brushes were used for the background. This will be easy to mail for my brother's birthday.

Birthday Floral

Hi, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from Annie Selke.....I chose this gorgeous photo....the combination of pink and orchid tones in the bouquet got me!  I needed a fairly quick card for my niece, so I stamped the flowers and leaves from the Altenew set, Nostalgic Florals, with pink, then colored the stamen with a yellow marker and sealed them with a clear glaze pen. The coordinating stencils were used to color the images with sponges and Blending Brushes (from Divinity Designs LLC).  A Blending Brush was also used for the edges of the card base. The sentiment is from the XOXO & More Die set from Altenew. Coordinating enamel dots were used for the finishing touch.

You Make Me "Toadily" Happy!

Hi, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge is to find inspiration from RebsFabStash.....I saw this adorable frog and thought of these Penny Black stamps which I picked up at a scrapbook store in my first year of stamping; the dragonfly is from Stampendous. This card is for one of my nephews for his birthday. The images and sentiment were stamped in Stazon Jet black onto a panel which was cut out with a Double Stitched Squares Die by Divinity Designs LLC. A clear glaze pen was added to the frog's eyes to protect them from the background inking.  Blending Brushes were used to partially color the background (with the panel still in the die), then the images were colored with markers.  This week's Clean and Simple Challenge theme is 'Fun with Puns', so I will be submitting for that challenge as well.

Be The Person Your Dog Thinks You Are

Hi, everyone! Today I would like to share a card which I personalized for my nephew's birthday. I will be submitting this for the 2023 "Card Design Superstar: Clean and Simple Genius" Challenge over at My Favorite Things. My nephew's pup is a Spanish Waterdog, with curly fur, so I water-colored tiny circles with caramel ink onto the image from the 'You Make My Tail Wag' set.  I chose a lime green card base instead of plain ole white and chose a fun plaid pattern from an MFT paper pad on which to stamp the doggie bed.  My MISTI was used to center and line up the sentiment stamp.

Flowers for a Friend

Hi, everyone! This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use Yellow, Coral, and Pumpkin. The 'dessert' option is to use another color, I chose aqua to blend onto the card base behind the flowers. The flowers are from a Simon Says Stamp set I bought over a year ago and the sentiment is from a Memory Box/Simon Says Stamp exclusive from two years ago. The flowers were stamped in my MISTI to get good coverage, then they were fussy cut and sponged with the three colors. A clear glaze pen was used on some of the stamens and leaves for a 'Glaze Pen Resist' effect.

You're a Gem

Happy Monday, everyone! The Clean and Simple Challenge over at Splitcoast is all about 'Kindness'. For my card today, I used one of the Ephemera sets which I received as a free gift from Altenew. The only work I had to do for this card was sponge the oval and add splatters to the background......oh, and some tiny gemstones were added to the watering can.  I used thin foam tape behind the image and sentiment so it would still be easy to mail.

Stay Cool!

Happy Monday, everyone!  This week's Clean and Simple Challenge over at Splitcoast is to incorporate the color 'orange' in your card.  My nephew loves orange, so I created some sunglasses for his birthday card.  The dies and stencils are from My Favorite Things, purchased in a retirement sale.

Cocktails on the Beach

Happy Friday, everyone! This week's Friday Free4All Challenge theme over at Splitcoast is 'Let's Chill'. For my card today, I chose the 'Cocktail Mixer' set by Newton's Nook to create a birthday card for my niece. The cocktails were stamped onto a white card base, the clear glass portions were highlighted with a light blue marker; the colored sections were sponged using reverse masking; the tiny pieces were colored with markers.  A clear glaze pen was used to seal in the colors, then the background scene was sponged.

At the Lake

Hi, everyone! This week's Clean and Simple Challenge at Splitcoast is all about Landscapes. I used the Oceanfront set from Stampin Up. Each part of the scene was lined up in my MISTI; I used a scratch piece to make sure the stamps were lined up correctly, then replaced it with the card panel. This took a bit longer switching the pieces but I didn't want to waste a card. This card is for a co-worker who loves to fish.

Happy 1st Birthday!

Hi, everyone!  This week's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is a tribute to Neil Armstrong's walk on the moon....incorporate either the moon or footsteps on your project.  My card is for my little niece who just turned one.  I love this adorable set from My Favorite Things, "Number Fun - 1".  The image and sentiment were stamped onto a white card base using my MISTI.  Using masking and reverse masking, the scene was colored with sponges for a softer look. Some pink gingham ribbon was added to coordinate with the pink "blankie".
