Flowers for a Friend

Hi, everyone! This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use Yellow, Coral, and Pumpkin. The 'dessert' option is to use another color, I chose aqua to blend onto the card base behind the flowers. The flowers are from a Simon Says Stamp set I bought over a year ago and the sentiment is from a Memory Box/Simon Says Stamp exclusive from two years ago. The flowers were stamped in my MISTI to get good coverage, then they were fussy cut and sponged with the three colors. A clear glaze pen was used on some of the stamens and leaves for a 'Glaze Pen Resist' effect.

Cocktails on the Beach

Happy Friday, everyone! This week's Friday Free4All Challenge theme over at Splitcoast is 'Let's Chill'. For my card today, I chose the 'Cocktail Mixer' set by Newton's Nook to create a birthday card for my niece. The cocktails were stamped onto a white card base, the clear glass portions were highlighted with a light blue marker; the colored sections were sponged using reverse masking; the tiny pieces were colored with markers.  A clear glaze pen was used to seal in the colors, then the background scene was sponged.

Queen Bee

Hi, everyone!  This week's Friday Free4All Challenge theme is 'All Things New'.....I am using a brand NEW stamp set, along with a spring theme for my card. The stamp set is 'Queen Bee' and the following dies from Divinity Designs LLC were used: Treat Tags, Pierced Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer, plus a Blending Brush.  The images were all stamped in Stazon Timber Brown, colored with markers, then coated with a Clear Glaze Pen.  Barely Banana ink was brushed onto the center of the card before adding the SU sequin stickers and gold tag with baker's twine.  Also, the crown was stamped onto the same gold foil cardstock and fussy cut....unfortunately I didn't get the right angle with the camera to capture the shiny gold crown.  This will be an anniversary card for my co-worker to give to his wife in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for stopping by!

Unicorn Blessings

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to choose a color collection from Design Seeds to inspire your project.  Since my first card was so quick and easy, I'm back for another round!  This time I chose this awesome color palette to help in creating a birthday card for one of my nieces who asked for a purple card with a unicorn.  Purple...no problem!  Unicorn....eek!  Since I did not have a unicorn stamp, I dug out one of the very first horse stamps I ever bought and drew a horn. Note: this is the extent of my artistic ability....lol!!!!  All of the white areas were colored with a clear Glaze Pen then the rest was sponged with lavender.  Though the camera did not capture it, the horn and hooves were colored with a glitter pen.  I have also used these items from Our Daily Bread designs: ODBD Pennant Flag Verses, ODBD Custom Double Stitched Pennant Flags Dies, ODBD Custom Pennant Flags Dies, ODBD Custom Double Stitched Circles Dies, ODBD Custom Circles Dies, ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, ODBD Custom Clouds and Raindrops Dies (template to sponge clouds). The paper I chose is from an older Prima collection....I loved the swirled colors and thought it had sort of a fantasy-type look to it.
