Trust In God! (Sneak Peek!)

Hi everyone!  Today's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast this week is Linda Callahan....congrats, Linda!!!  I had a blast cruising through her gallery....there were too many beautiful cards in there and it was tough to choose, but I finally decided on this one because of the cool layout.  Mind turned out a little out of proportion because of the size of the doily die I chose, but tried to keep the sketch intact.

The stamps I used are in a new set from Our Daily Bread designs, called "Fortress" and will be released on Tuesday, May 1st.  The cutting die is the 'Nautical Wheeler Doily' by Cheery Lynn Designs, which will be added to the ODBD store sometime this weekend.  Stay tuned Monday for a Product Review/Tutorial on the ODBD Blog on the latest editions of Cheery Lynn Designs cutting dies added to the ODBD store.
Supplies used on this card:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Fortress' (available May 1st);
Cardstock: Stampin Up Not Quite Navy and Whisper White;
Designer Paper: Prima 'Madeline';
Ink: Stazon Jet Black and Stampin Up Early Espresso (sponging);
Accessories: 'Nautical Wheeler Doily' cutting die by Cheery Lynn Designs, Spellbinders Circle Nestabilities, Cuttlehug XL Metal Spacer by Cheery Lynn Designs (helps to cut the intricate details of the doily dies), May Arts Satin Trim, Zva Creative Pearls, 'Pearl' Glimmer Mist, CM Corner Rounder, paper piercer and template;
Size: 6 x 5-1/4.

Snoopy's Chopper Nameframe and Card

Happy Saturday, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is super fun!!  Choose an item from Rosenberry Rooms (a kid's store) for your inspiration....I chose this motorcycle pendant with flames since it reminded me of my Snoopy's Chopper stamp which I haven't used in a long time.  I'm down to the wire to make a card and gift for my nephew's party this afternoon and wasn't sure what I was going to do until now.....it's great to have a little nudge to get me going....I love challenges!!!

For both the nameframe and the card, I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder with some silver metallic cardstock for a quick and easy background.  The letters on the nameframe are Stampin Up....after cutting out the stamped letters, the edges were 'distressed' with gray ink.  Snoopy's Chopper was stamped, colored with markers, cut out with paper snips and craft knife, then popped up with foam tape. The sentiment is from the "Time" set by Our Daily Bread designs.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Time' and 'Snoopy's Chopper' by Stampabilities;
Cardstock: Stampin Up Marina Mist, Basic Black, Whisper White, and Silver Metallic;
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Stampin up Marina Mist, Going Gray, and Summer Sun;
Accessories: Cropodile Hole Punch, Making Memories Screw Eyelets, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (unknown company), paper piercer and template;
Size: A2.

Edited to add: Here is the birthday boy himself! This frame will look really good in his room!!! :)

Doggie Sympathy Card

Hi everyone!  Sympathy cards are never fun to make, but they are necessary as we go through life.  Not only do we miss our family members and friends, but pets can be like family members also.  My friend had to make a tough decision and said goodbye to her doggie of 14 years yesterday, so I made a card for her using the "Dog Sympathy" set from Our Daily Bread designs.  I know how much she loved him, so I used some heart cutting dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.

Once I decided which cardstock to use, I cut the heart frame first, then measured to see what size panel to cut for the scene.....after stamping and coloring with markers and ink pads, I glued the frame onto the panel with craft glue, since any adhesive strips would show through.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Dog Sympathy' (image) and 'Paw Prints' (sentiment);
Cardstock: Stampin Up Poppy Parade, More Mustard, and Whisper White;
Designer Paper: Basic Grey 'Max and Whiskers';
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Stampin Up markers and ink pads;
Accessories: Cheery Lynn Designs 'Sweetheart Frame' Die and 'Celtic Heart' die (coming soon to the ODBD store), Zva Creative Pearls, paper piercer and template foam tape;
Size: 5-1/2 x 5-1/2.

ODBD "For the Love Of....Flower Sets" Blog Hop!

Welcome to the "For the Love of......Flower Sets" Blog Hop, hosted by our amazing Alumni Team, and joined by various "Breadsticks" from the Design Team, Challenge Team, and Scrapbook Team....one big happy family! :)

These fun hops happen twice a month and give you another chance to win a gift certificate to the Our Daily Bread designs store!  The theme for this hop is ODBD Flower Sets!!

If you have hopped here from Rosemary's amazing blog, you are in the right place.....if you just happened to stop by, please head over to the ODBD Blog and start at the beginning.  All of the blogs are listed there....hop along with us, leaving comments as you go, for a chance to win!  You have until Wednesday, May 9th at 6pm Eastern, to complete the hop.

I have used the Daisy set for my sample today, along with a Cheery Lynn Designs "Large Sunflower Doily" die. I wanted the Daisy and doily to be the focus, so I didn't add a sentiment or many embellishments.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Daisy';
Cardstock: Stampin Up Always Artichoke, Daffodil Delight, and Whisper White;
Designer Paper: Prima 'Sun Kiss';
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Stampin Up Markers and Ink Pads;
Accessories: Cheery Lynn Designs 'Large Sunflower Doily' cutting die, Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly Punch, Zva Creative pearls, May Arts Crocheted Lace and Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, 'Pearl' Glimmer Mist, Paper Piercer and Template, Sponge Daubers (for coloring flower centers), Foam Tape;
Size: 5-1/2 x 5-1/2.

I really love this new doily die (which will be added soon to the ODBD store).  It  measures 5-1/4 across, which is perfect for the square cards I usually make....5-1/2 card base, 5-3/8 mat, and 5-1/4 designer paper layer.....the doily is just right!!

Thanks so much for hanging out with me and the other Breadsticks today!  Head over to the ODBD Blog now and let us know with your comment that you have completed the hop and let us know if there were any blogs on which you could not comment.

Have a very blessed day!!

Monochromatic Masculine Card

Hi everyone! Today's Ways To Use It Challenge at Splitcoast is to make a Monochromatic card.  I am still so excited about this set, "The Mighty Sea", from Our Daily Bread designs, which was released in February! This set is perfect for masculine cards!!! This card I made for a co-worker...it's a bit on the plain side....I have trouble "finishing" a card sometimes, but I like the mono-chromatic look.

 Though it' s not very visible, the black layer was embossed with a SU "Square Lattice" embossing folder for a little texture.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'The Mighty Sea';
Cardstock: SU Crumb Cake, Basic Black, and Whisper White;
Designer paper: Basic Grey 'Little Black Dress';

By His Wounds

Happy Thursday, everyone! Today I would like to share a fairly simple card created with the "He Will Rise" set from Our Daily Bread designs. The image panel was cut out with the ODBD/Spellbinders 'Elegant Ovals' die, then the image was stamped and colored while the cardstock was still in the die. The image was stamped a second time in order to cut out and pop it up with foam tape. The satin bow was tied with a Bow Easy.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'He Will Rise';
Card Stock: SU Lavender Lace, Very Vanilla;
Designer Paper: Memory Box 'Enchanted';
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Lavender Lace, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso;
Accessories: ODBD Elegant Ovals dies, EK Success Dotted Scallop border punch, Zva Creative pearls, Bow Easy, May Arts Satin Ribbon, 'Pearl' Glimmer Mist;
Technique: Paper Tole, Paper piercing, Coloring with Sponges;

Flower Soft 'Fuzzy Friends'!

Hi everyone! This is a super quick and easy card I made for a Flower Soft Video/Tutorial for Our Daily Bread designs....check out the video and article HERE. I fell in love with Flower Soft the very first time I saw their products, but since the release of their Ultra-fine line a couple of years ago, I am VERY much in love with their products!! The card toppers and kits with the animals are super adorable and the Ultra-fine Flower Soft looks exactly like fur!!!

Here is a close-up of the adorable teddy bear friends from the "Recipes for Friends Card Making Kit", which includes eight cards, a 3d piece for each, plus enevelopes and foam squares! For my card here, I did cut one of the cards in half and just used the front part as a layer on top of navy cardstock. When covering the bears, I covered each section with Flower Soft Glue, covered with either "Sand" or "Earth" Ultra-fine Flower Soft (from the Teddy Bears Textures Kit), then used a paper piercer to fine tune the Flower Soft around the edges of the image. I had both bears covered in a matter of minutes. Aren't they adorable?

Card 'Ingredients':
Cardstock: Stampin Up Night of Navy;
Accessories: Flower Soft 'Recipes for Friends Card Making Kit', 'Teddy Bear Textures' Ultra-fine Flower Soft Kit, Grosgrain Ribbon, Paper Piercer and template, Zva Creative Pearls;
Size: 4 x 4.

'Francis of Assisi' CAS Scrap-ling Card

Happy Resurrection Day, everyone! Here is a little "scrap-ling" card I made this morning for the Featured Stamper Challenge over at Splitcoast. This week's artist is Ali aka Albongo....she has the most amazing Clean and Simple gallery....wow!!! I chose this beautiful card to re-create. Though my version is not as tall, I kept it to a similar scale, but a smaller size so that I could use up a lot of paper scraps on my desk...which is why I called it a "scrap-ling". Since I make a lot of 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 cards, I have a lot of three inch strips of cardstock leftover...perfect for this one!!!

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Francis of Assisi' (quote and birds are separate stamps in the set);
Cardstock: 3 x 11 strip of Stampin Up Daffodil Delight, scored in half;
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Certainly Celery, and Bordering Blue (sponging);
Accessories: Spellbinders Lacey Circles and Circle Nestabilities, Zva Creative Pearls, May Arts Satin Ribbon, Paper Piercer and Template, Sponge Daubers, Foam Tape;
Size: 3 x 5-1/2.
