Divinity Designs LLC - New Bird of the Month Series!

Hi, everyone!  I hope you enjoyed the Birthday Flowers of the Month series from Divinity Designs LLC last year!  There is a brand new monthly theme for 2025....Bird of the Month Club!!!  Check out how you can get yours HERE!  I love having more options for masculine cards and the Owl set for this month is perfect!  I know I will use this one a lot!!

For my first sample, I chose the pine cone designer paper from the Rustic Christmas Paper Pad since it coordinated with the image.  Here are the additional dies used: Pine Cones & Pine Branches, Pierced Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer.  The owl image was colored with markers and the eyes were coated with a clear glaze pen.

Next is a monochromatic, Mini-slimline design was quick and easy.  The image and sentiments were stamped with Stazon Navy Blue ink; the eyes were colored with a marker then sealed with a clear glaze pen.  Blending brushes were used to color the background.  The Mini Slimline Pierced Frame was popped up with Foam Mounting Tape over the card which was cut with the Mini Slimline Card Base.

For my third sample, the owl was stamped with Kraft ink, the sentiment, blended background, and baker's twine are all navy.  The frame was created by swiping a kraft ink pad across a piece of kraft cardstock, one of several "Faux Wood" techniques.  The panel was cut with the A2 Pierced Frames Dies and popped up with Foam Mounting Tape over a card base cut with the A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer Dies set.

CAS Blue Floral Thank You Cards

Hi, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast (and my MISTI) helped me to make a group of thank you cards very quickly. I chose this beautiful navy blue floral bedspread for my inspiration piece. I chose the Flowing Flowers set from Stampin Up and Stazon Navy Blue ink. I am hooked on permanent inks for designs like this since the ink dries instantly and doesn't smear. I absolutely hate ruining a card with ink blobs or smears, dont you?! :)

10 Minute Birthday Card!

Hi, everyone!  This week's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is to make a quick card.  I created this one layer, monochromatic birthday card for my aunt in about ten minutes.  I love the new 'textured' stamps from Stampin Up since they give beautiful shading and dimension with just one color of ink.  This set is called 'Flowing Flowers' and the ink I used is Orchid Opulence.

Triple Challenge Stencil Stamping

Hi, everyone!  My clean and simple card today covers three challenges over at Splitcoast.  This week's Featured Stamper is one of my Divinity Designs designer sisters, Kathy Schweinfurth aka dani114....congrats, Kathy!  I chose this gorgeous stenciled card to case, changing the stencil, colors, and scripture verse.  Today's Technique Lover's Challenge is to create a monochromatic design....I chose three shades of turquoise for my card.  Today's Clean and Simple Challenge is to use stenciling....I used the 'Stencil Stamping' Technique for my CAS card.  The 'Petals' Mixed Media Stencil was inked with two different shades of turquoise, then spritzed with water and pressed onto a white cardstock panel which was cut out with the DD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies. The scripture verse is from the 'Peach Branch' stamp set and the butterflies were cut out with the DD Custom Bitty Butterflies Dies.  Clear gemstones were added on the butterflies and below the scripture.  This card was so quick and easy that I made two cards just alike....yay!!

Happy Father's Day!

Fishing Shirt from Signals
Hi, everyone!  Since I was unable to stamp yesterday, my card today combines the Inspiration Challenge and Featured Stamper Challenge from Splitcoast. This week's Featured Stamper is Jayne aka Ozpom....congrats, Jayne!  I loved the sponged circle design of this beautiful card plus the cool baker's twine at the bottom.  The Inspiration Challenge is to find inspiration from the Signals site.....I chose this awesome t-shirt for a couple of reasons:  I love to create monochromatic cards (especially in gray),  I LOVE this new stamp set from ODBD, 'Great Catch' Stamp/Die Duo (available April 2nd), plus I'm thrilled to get a head start on my Father's Day cards!  I have also used the following custom dies from ODBD: Double Stitched Rectangles, Circles Dies (to cut mask and reverse mask), plus the Fishing Net Background Stamp was used instead of an embossing folder.

Share In God's Grace

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from the Uncommon Goods store.......if I had a nautical style bathroom, I would buy this awesome shower curtain!  I love the navy blue collage and white space at the top.  My card is floral instead of nautical, but I used the monochromatic style of the curtain.  I know I've been using this 'In My Heart' Stamp/Die Duo from Our Daily Bread designs a lot lately, but it's my new favorite set....the hydrangea is so easy to mask and layer!! I used three masks to stamp this one layer card, using just one navy ink pad.

Sea Turtle Inspiration

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from a Rock Art Pinterest Board.....it was so tough to choose, but I finally settled on this awesome photo!  I bought this cool sea turtle stamp by Gray Wolf Graphics several months ago at the Indy stamp show and haven't had a chance to use it.  I dug through my box of misc stamps and found this Hero Arts sentiment which I haven't used in years.  I started by stamping the turtle in Brilliant Blue on a panel cut with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies; stamped it again on scratch paper to make a mask, and again on white cardstock so the shell could be cut out and popped up.  After masking the turtle, I used a stencil to create the background around it.  For the bottom panel, I inked up an embossing folder and used it as a stamp for a subtle swirly look without being too busy.  Along with the Inspiration Challenge, I will be submitting this to the DTGD17JustWriteDesigns challenge.  All of the Dare to Get Dirty challenges' details are a secret, unless you are a Fan Club member!!

Let Faith Be The Bridge

Hi, everyone!  This week's Ways To Use It Challenge over at Splitcoast is 'Two For Tea'...use anything tea related or use the letter 'T'....I chose to use the letter, which is part of the ODBD Custom 'Faith Border' Die.  The stamp set used is 'Safe Travels' and the panels were cut out with the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, ODBD Custom Double Stitched Circles Dies, and ODBD Custom Circles Dies. This was a very quick card since there was no coloring involved.

Hope Anchors The Soul

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Kelly Santi aka MiamiKel4....congrats, Kelly!!  I chose this awesome CAS card to recreate using the 'Anchor the Soul' set from Our Daily Bread designs.  This card only took 15 minutes to make.....yay!!!  The white panels were cut with the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Circles Dies and ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies.  Instead of sequins, I used two navy pearls in the corners.

To My Friend

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Donna aka pink_lady....congrats, Donna!!!  I was drawn to this gorgeous card because the white embossing looks so cool on the kraft cardstock!  For my card, a kraft panel was cut with the ODBD Custom Pierced Squares Dies, the images and sentiment from the ODBD set, 'To My Friend', were embossed in white, the edges were sponged, then the panel was matted with white.  Three white sequins and linen thread were added for embellishments.

Two Dress-Inspired Cards

Tumblr "I Don't Wear Dresses"
Happy Saturday, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from the 'I Don't Wear Dresses' tumblr site.  I chose two different dresses and made two cards.

I fell in love with the rich blackberry colors in this dress and it made me think of tulips for some reason....winter has just begun but I'm ready to see my spring flowers popping up!  For my card, I mixed an 'oldie but goodie' stamp, 'Tulip Corner', with a new die cut, the ODBD Custom 'Happy Birthday Script' Die, plus the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, and little hearts from ODBD Custom Umbrellas Dies (all items are from Our Daily Bread designs).  The image was stamped in Stazon Jet Black, then water-colored with Blackberry Bliss, dark at the base and gradient toward the tips of the petals. Once I was finished with the water-coloring, I flicked the wet paintbrush over the ivory panel.  The word die was cut in half so that it would work with this image. Instead of dotting the I, a tiny heart was placed there instead. I will also be submitting this to the Less Is More 'Ombre' Challenge and ODBD Shining the Light Color Challenge (I chose the three shades of purple on the left).

Tumblr "I Don't Wear Dresses"
My second card is based on this blue floral dress......I cannot pass us royal blue flowers!!!!  For my card, I cut out a panel with the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, stamped it all over with the image from 'A Happy Hello', added a border cut with the ODBD Custom Deco Border Die plus thin satin ribbon.  The sentiment was cut out with the ODBD Custom Stitched Ovals Dies, matted with the ODBD Custom Ovals Dies.  Three tiny pearls and a bow were added for simple embellishments.

Faux Wood Birthday Wishes

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Holly Brown aka hbrown...congrats, Holly!  I chose this awesome masculine card to recreate using the following items from Our Daily Bread designs: 'Living Water' stamp set, ODBD Custom Double Stitched Circles Dies, and the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies.  Instead of the crumpled background technique, I used the Faux Wood technique to create the background panel....started with mustard cardstock and swiped two different brown ink pads directly across the cardstock.  I also loved the interesting ribbon treatment of Holly's card, so I was happy to give it a try; I used a small circle punch at first for the ribbon slots, but the ribbon wouldn't cooperate, so I punched around the circles with a small square punch.  This will be a birthday card for my boss next week.

Double Feature for Featured Stamper

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is amymay98....congrats, Amy!!  I couldn't decide on just one card, so I created two!!  My first card was cased from this beautiful CAS design.  I used an upcoming set from Our Daily Bread designs (Aug. 17), called 'Thanks a Melon', the ODBD Custom Watermelon Dies set, along with the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies for both cutting and dry embossing.

ODBD Thanks A Melon, ODBD Custom Watermelon Dies, ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, Card Designer Angie Crockett

My second card was based on this awesome monochromatic card.....I loved the simple but striking layout!  For this card, I have used the 'Sending You Sunshine' set by Our Daily Bread designs (avail. Aug. 17), along with the 'Rope Background', ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies and ODBD Custom Pierced Squares dies.  The image and sentiment were stamped in Stazon Timber Brown, then Baked Brown Sugar was used to color and sponge the scene.  The wavy thread is actually thick baker's twine which was unwoven into three strands.  I originally chose to unwind it so it wouldn't be so thick, but then I fell in love the waviness of it!!

Napkin Inspired Royal Coneflower

Happy Saturday, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from a Napkin Board on Pinterest.  I'm a sucker for royal blue, so I chose this awesome photo as inspiration for my card today. I focused on the gingham, silver, and royal blue.  The silver (mirror paper) frames were cut out with the ODBD Custom Layered Lacey Ovals Dies; the white ovals were cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Ovals Dies and matted in blue ovals cut with the ODBD Custom Ovals Dies set.  The coneflower and partial sentiment from 'Forever Friends' were stamped in blue. For bonus points (to incorporate a monogram), the 'F' from 'Flourished Alphabet' was stamped, then a portion of the sentiment stamp was inked with a marker to complete the word.  The Gingham Background was stamped then cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies (resized to be half of the rectangle width); the white panel was cut with the same die. The three silver hearts used as embellishments were by-products from the sentiment frame...can you see all of the tiny hearts? LOVE this die!!

Ombre Blue Thanks

Happy Saturday, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to choose a color combination from the given Pinterest board and design your project around it.  I'm a sucker for blue tones so I chose this Blue Tile combination for inspiration.  I started with a white rectangle, sponged the different shades of blue all over from light to dark, then used the ODBD Custom Majestic Medallion Dies set to cut out the pattern.  Lots of tiny pieces of foam tape were added to the back of the die cut piece to pop it up over the panel which was stamped with the Medallion Background stamp (after stamping off for a lighter color).  The sentiment panel was stamped with the Medallion Sentiments set, cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies, then matted with the ODBD Custom Filigree Frames dies.  I didn't want to cover up the die cut or gradient colors, so only pearls were added as embellishments.

My two card samples below also feature the follow items from Our Daily Bread designs:

ODBD Beautiful Boho Paper Collection ODBD Wood Background

ODBD Custom Stitched Ovals Dies ODBD Custom Ovals Dies

My first card was so fun to make!  The two adult owls and tree branch from 'Who Loves You?' were stamped in black, colored with markers, then cut out with the NCC Custom 'Owl Family' Dies set and popped up over the yellow moon (cut with a circle die). The brown cardstock was stamped with the ODBD Wood Background stamp, then an oval was cut out with the ODBD Custom 'Ovals' Dies so that it looked like the sentiment was carved into the tree. Paper piercing, metallic yellow brads, yellow baker's twine, and heart pearls were added as finishing touches.

My next sample features the new NCC Custom 'Happy Birthday' Die, NCC Custom 'Flourished Vine Die', the floral image from 'Floral Sentiments 5', the ODBD Custom 'Stitched Ovals' Dies, and a flourish pattern from the ODBD 'Beautiful Boho' Paper Collection.  The 'Flourished Vine Die' was cut out of navy blue, the 'Happy Birthday' Die was cut from the same designer paper as the left panel.  The image was stamped in navy blue, then watercolored with a lighter shade of blue to give it a monochromatic look.

Thanks for hanging out with us today!!
