Child of God

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Betty aka gabbygal....congrats, Betty!!!  It took a long while to decide on just one card from her gallery and finally chose this gorgeous sympathy card and changed it to a birthday card.  For my card, I used the following items from Divinity Designs LLC: 'I Believe' stamp set, a pattern from the Watercolor Paper Pad, and these dies: A2 Landscape Card Base with Layer Dies, Matting Rectangle, Leafy Edged Borders Dies, Fancy Fritillary Dies, and Clouds and Raindrops Dies (tiny hearts).  The butterfly and hearts were embellished with a clear glaze pen.

Hugs for Mom

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from the super fun Joy of Socks website.  My Mom loves California Poppies and for her birthday card I wanted to include one.  Using the Poppy Stamp/Die Duo from Divinity Designs LLC, I stamped, cut out, and watercolored the poppy......a week ago!  I have been staring at it all week trying to figure out what type of card to build around it.  This gorgeous sock, with the delish colors, was the inspiration I needed!  A white panel, cut out with the Matting Rectangles Die, was sponged with Blackberry Bliss, Melon Mambo, and Tangerine Tango.  The Floral Background Die was cut out of white cardstock and adhered to the inked mat, everywhere except for the large flower petals.  For a simple sentiment (and because I can't hug her in person right now), I used 'Hugs' (three layers) from the Inspiration Words Dies set.  Blackberry Bliss ribbon and a bow tied with a Bow Easy were the last touches before adhering the panel to the card which was cut out with the A2Portrait Card Base with Layers Dies set.

Happy Anniversary to Divinity Designs LLC!!!

Hi, everyone!  Today marks the 12th anniversary for Divinity Designs LLC (formerly known as Our Daily Bread designs)!  I joined the design team just seven months after the company was started and I can't believe how time has flown!  It's been exciting to see how just a few stamps sets has turned into a full line of stamps, dies, stencils, embossing folders, and paper collections!!!  It has been a blessing to be a part of this family for so many years.  Now, on to the celebration!!!  To see all of the beautiful stamps, dies, and new paper collection, plus some awesome designer samples, please click HERE.  If you follow us on social media, there may be some free goodies in your future!

For my two card samples today, here are the products featured:

For my first card, I tried a new-to-me stained glass technique to show off the awesome new Floral Background Die and one of the sentiments from "I Believe".  It's not a difficult technique, but it takes several layers of cardstock.  First, I cut two white cardstock panels and adhered them together using my Xyron Sticker Maker.  I used the Floral Background Die to emboss only on this double panel so that I could see where to color.  All of the colored sections you see were water-colored; once dry, a panel was die cut with the Floral Background Die and adhered to frame the colors.  Then, Glossy Accents were used to coat all of the colored area (make sure the glaze touches the framing for a more complete look.)  Another frame was die cut and adhered to give more dimension.  You could add even more layers but I felt that it was good as is.  Since I didn't want to cover up the background, the sentiment from "I Believe" was stamped onto vellum and cut out with the Pierced Circles Dies and glued just inside the border of the circle.  The stained glass frame was adhered to a turquoise panel which was cut out with the Matting Rectangle Die, then adhered to the card which was cut out with the A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer Die.

My next card features another sentiment from "I Believe", a gorgeous pattern from the Watercolor Paper Pad, along with the following items which were previously released: Center Step A2 with Layers Dies, Inspiration Words Dies ("Believe"), Alphabet Flags Dies (the letter "I"), Ornamental Crosses Dies, Bitty Borders Dies, and Double Stitched Rectangles Dies.  The sentiment was gold-embossed onto vellum, cut out with the Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, then turned into a sticker with a Xyron.  The additional die cuts were cut twice (violet and metallic gold) and layered for added dimension.

Two Quick Rustic Birthday Cards

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Pauline aka meisu4....congrats, Pauline!  I was looking for inspiration to help me make some masculine cards and this awesome card did the trick!  I grabbed the 'Seek Me' set by Divinity Designs LLC, along with the 'Wood Background' and created two quick birthday cards.  I began by stamping the Wood Background with Crumb Cake ink onto Crumb Cake card bases, then stamped the trees with Mossy Meadow ink.  On the portrait card, I used a scripture verse from the set, cut with the 'Large Banners Dies'; on the landscape card, I used a scripture from the 'Dad' stamp set (retired).  Both cards were sponged on the edges to give a bit more dimension.

Seaside Thoughts of You

Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Faith aka PeonySnail....congrats, Faith!!!  It was tough to choose just one card to case, but I finally decided on this gorgeous card.  For my card, the white panel was cut with a rectangle die, stamped the seagulls (from SU 'By The Bay'), used a clear glaze pen as a resist on the gulls and sand lines, used a reverse mask to sponge the colors in the circle, then used the circle die to emboss around the scene. The panel was matted with aqua and adhered onto a white card base. Three enamel dots were added for a simple embellishment.

Celebrate Life

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Maura Hibbitts aka onecraftstamper....congrats, Maura!  Maura's gallery is chock full of cool techniques, mixed media, and my fave.....alcohol inks!!!  I chose this card to case today because of the AI background and cute sentiment banners.  The AI panel used for my card was actually created over a year ago while I was at my BFF's house, showing her how to use alcohol inks and lift ink.  The stamps I used for the lift are from Stampin Up but I do not know the name of the set.  I still had the 'So Many Sayings' set on my desk from yesterday's card, so I used it to create the three banners.
