Sing To The Lord

Hello!  Just wanted to share a quick and easy one layer card with you this time around.  This week's Featured Stamper at Splitcoast is Allison Cope aka thecircleguru....congrats, Allison!!  What a fabulous gallery she has!  I chose this beautiful card to re-create....I loved the debossed frame with the Spellbinder die and the sponging inside, so I wanted to give it a try.

Our Daily Bread designs "Cardinal Ornament" Designer Angie Crockett

The white cardstock was cut, then scored. so that I could see where the fold would be.  With the embossing mat under the cardstock, I placed the Spellbinders Labels 3 die cut side up on the card, carefully placed the cutting plate on top, then ran it through my Spellbinders Wizard.  I chose the Wizard for this since the plates are thick and I knew I could hold them in place and the die would not move. (I was too lazy to find some post-its to hold the die in place...teehee!)

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Cardinal Ornament' (image), 'Chickadee Ornament' (Sentiment);

Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Stampin Up markers and Marina Mist ink pad;

Almond Blossoms Inspiration

Hi, everyone!  After spending several days out of town, spending a lovely Thanksgiving with hubby's Grandma and family, I am refreshed and ready to do some stamping!!!  The Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast is my fave challenge and always gives me the creative nudge I need to get started.  This week's challenge is to choose an item from GelaSkins......I chose this gorgeous painting from Vincent Van Gogh....the colors are beautiful, plus I wanted to use my new Spellbinders Cherry Blossoms dies for the first time!

Our Daily Bread designs "Chickadee Ornament" Designer Angie Crockett

I chose some Prima designer paper (Annalee) for the background since it had both blue and green hues.  The branches were cut from Creamy Caramel and sponged with Close to Cocoa; the blossoms were cut out of Whisper White and sponged with Barely Banana.  The sentiment is from the "Chickadee Ornament" set by Our Daily Bread designs......since this is a birthday card for a friend, I inked up the word "Blessed" (from the "Blessed is the Season" stamp) with a marker.

Kitten and Butterfly!

Hi, everyone!  Today I have two re-creations to share with you.  The reigning Queen For The Day over at Splitcoast is Gabby aka gabalot....congrats, Gabby!!!  I chose this beautiful card to case.....I loved the layout and tried to keep it as clean and simple as possible....no piercing, no pop-ups other than the butterfly.  This is a birthday for my neice, Madelyn.  I chose the kittie image from the "Cat Sympathy" set and the sentiment from "Mini Tags 3", both from Our Daily Bread designs.  After all, what little girl doesn't love kitties?!

For my next card, I got some creative inspiration from this week's Featured Stamper at Splitcoast, Lee-Anne Cross aka Shadow's Mom.  I chose this gorgeous card......I love the cool CAS design.  This is a birthday card for another niece, Mahalia, who is one of Madelyn's older sisters.  I started off by creating two straight masks with scratch paper, stamped the grunge background from the "God's Love" set in plum, then sponged the edges and over the background with Melon Mambo.  I removed the masks, then stamped the "2-step Butterfly" in Rich Razzleberry and black, then added the sentiment, piercing, pearls, and Glimmer Mist for some sparkle.

Feature Focus - ODBD Elegant Oval Dies

Hi there! Today, over at the Our Daily Bread designs Blog is the monthly "Feature Focus" post. This month's featured item is the ODBD Exclusive Spellbinders "Elegant Ovals" Die Set. Several of my Design Team sisters and I created some new samples using the dies and coordinating stamps too......check out all of the samples HERE!

My first sample features the "Elegant Oval" dies along with the "Eternity" stamp set.  This is a birthday card for my boss.  I stamped the frame twice in navy, cut out the inside shape of one so that there was a 3-d element...the quote from "Eternity" was stamped, the edges sponged then paper pierced (freehand), then popped up with foam tape.  The bottom piece was scored with my Scor-buddy in order to get a bead-board look.  To help with the masculine look, some denim ribbon was added.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs "Eternity";
Cardstock: Stampin Up 'Night of Navy' and 'Whisper White';
Designer Paper: Basic Grey 'Marjolaine';
Accessories: ODBD Exclusive Spellbinders 'Elegant Ovals" Die Set, Zva Creative navy pearls, paper piercer and template, Scor-buddy, foam tape, sponge dauber, Stampin Up Denim Ribbon;
Size: A2.

My next sample is a birthday card for my nephew, on which I used the "Elegant Ovals" die set for the image panel and mat.  In order to get a close mat, I used the largest die to cut the white panel, then I traced the same die onto the Not Quite Navy cardstock and cut it by hand.  Once the image and scripture from "You Are The Potter" were stamped, I added paper piercing and foam tape to the back to pop it up.  The twine was braided along with some copper cord in order to match the copper brads and lovely rich colors of the designer paper.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: You Are The Potter;
Cardstock: Stampin Up 'Not Quite Navy' and 'Whisper White';
Designer Paper: Bo Bunny 'Weekend Market';
Accessories: ODBD Exclusive Spellbinders 'Elegant Ovals' Die Set, Copper Brads, Copper Cord, Twine, Paper piercer and template, sponge daubers, foam tape;
Size: A2.

Thanks so much for visiting today!  Have a wonderfully blessed day!!

Chickadee Window

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Well, it's officially winter....it was snowing a couple of days ago here in Indiana!!! Since it was 70 over the weekend, the ground was not cold enough for the snow to stick, but the reality of winter has now set in! Perhaps I should have created a snowy scene for this card instead of blue sky and clouds?!

Our Daily Bread designs "Chickadee Ornament", "ODBD Window Die Set" Designer Angie Crockett

For my card today, I "fussy cut" the chickadees from the "Chickadee Ornament" set by Our Daily Bread designs to create a scene with the ODBD Windows Die set to make a birthday card for my brother. I traced the window die shape onto white cardstock, sponged some clouds (although they are not very visible here), then glued the chickadees and pinecones onto the panel before popping up the window frame over them with foam tape.

Pink Elephant: use punches or dies.

Wishing You Peace / CASE-ing Chris!

Happy Saturday, everyone!  I have incorporated several challenges for my card today.  My dear sweet  ODBD Design Team sister, Chris Olsen, was dubbed Queen for the Day at Splitcoast a couple of weeks ago....I was swamped with "life stuff" then and didn't have a chance to re-create one of her cards. Better late than never, right?  I chose this gorgeous card from her amazing gallery as my inspiration, along with this week's Shining the Light Challenge, which is to make an all white card....this was a bit challenging for me!  I will also be submitting to the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast.....I chose this beautiful lacy gown from Angelic Dreamz for inspiration.

Our Daily Bread designs Christmas Flourished Verses Designer Angie Crockett

The beautiful sentiment I used is from the "Christmas Flourished Verses" set by Our Daily Bread designs....I absolutely love the swirly font!!!  The card base was cut out with Spellbinders Grand Labels One using my Grand Calibur and the layers are Labels One and Decorative Labels One.  The sentiment tag is from the Spellbinders Fancy Framed Tags One set.  Though I did not use flowers as Chris did, I had to include the "Fanciful Flourish" by Cheery Lynn Designs!

"Be Joyful!" Flower Soft Scrap It Frame!

Hi everyone! Today I would like to share another Flower Soft "Scrap It Frame It" project which I made for the tutorial for the Our Daily Bread designs Blog last month...click HERE to see the video and article, plus the other samples. These frames are so fun that I made three for the tutorial....I just couldn't help myself! I wanted to show how they could be used in many different ways.

This frame features photos of my hubby and me.  I was holding the camera myself and was wavering all over the place, which is why we were laughing.  He never dreamed that the photos would turn out!  The "Mwaah" stamp in the "Be Joyful" set was included by Kelley (owner of ODBD) because of my hubby.  He had included Mwaah in his notes to me for many years......I started using it when writing to Kelley and my sisters at Our Daily Bread designs, and it became "part of the landscape", so to speak.  So....I just had to use the "Be Joyful" set along with the photos of us, especially the "Mwaah" stamp!

Supplies used:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs "Be Joyful" (flowers and sentiments);
Cardstock: Stampin Up 'Pool Party' and 'Whisper White';
Accessories: Flower Soft 'Scrap It Frame It' kit'Orange Blossom' Ultrafine Flower Soft (in the centers of the inset flowers), grosgrain ribbon, Scor-tape, Stampin Up markers'Pool Party' and 'Lucky Limeade',  and 'Barely Banana' ink pad (sponging).

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  God bless and Mwaah to you!!! :)

"For the Love of Family" Blog Hop!

Hi, everyone!  Welcome to the "For The Love of Family" Blog Hop, hosted by our fabulous Alumni Team and joined by some of my sister "Breadsticks" from Our Daily Bread designs!  Our theme this time around is FAMILY.  As you hop around to the participating blogs, you will see a wide variety of projects and stamp sets.....all focused on family!

If you have hopped here from Jan's lovely blog, you are in the right place.  If not, please head over to the ODBD Blog and start from the beginning (and check out all of the deets).....we don't want you to miss a thing.  You have until Wednesday, November 21st at 6 pm EST to complete the hop.  One blessed hopper will win a gift certificate to the Our Daily Bread designs store....yay!!

I chose to use the "Dad" set for my sample today.  I love the variety of stamps and scripture verses in this set, but my fave is the Happy Birthday sentiment.  I use this on most of the masculine birthday cards I make.....I really love the font used!

Our Daily Bread designs "Dad" set

The general layout of my card is from the Sketch Challenge over at Operation Write Home. (Oops....I did it from memory, so the sketch is not exactly as it should be!)   I really love clean and simple sketches, which inspire me not to "over-do-it" on every card....only some of them! :) Also at Operation Write Home, this month's Our Daily Bread designs Challenge is to use a tool which you haven't used in a long time......I broke out my deckled scissors for this card....I can't remember the last time I had used them!

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Dad';
Cardstock: Stampin Up 'Island Indigo' and 'Whisper White;
Designer Paper: Making Memories 'Just Chillin';

Faith As A Mustard Seed

Hi, everyone!  Today I am playing along with the Featured Stamper Challenge #300 over at Splitcoast, along with a few other challenges.  This week's featured artist is Jen Mitchell......I had a blast cruising through her gallery and chose this beautiful card since I had never used this type of design before.  I needed to make an uplifting card for a young man (16) who is going through treatments for lung cancer.....the "Keep Climbing" set by Our Daily Bread designs was first to come to mind when I heard about Kevin through a stamping friend.
