I Dig You!

Hi, everyone!  This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast was perfect for a dino birthday card for my nephew.  I used the 'Dinoroar' set by Stampin Up for the dinosaur and grass, sponged the clouds over a stencil, sponged the ground over a piece of scratch paper, then cut out the panel with a Double Stitched Square Die from Divinity Designs LLC. No embellishments were added so it would be easy to mail.

With Sprinkles On Top

Hi, everyone!  This week's Clean and Simple Challenge theme over at Splitcoast is 'Sweet'.....I've had this 'Sweet Ice Cream' set from Stampin Up for a year and finally inked it up for a friend's birthday.  I stamped each section and used the coordinating punches, but I didn't like the white borders so I fussy cut them off.  The center of the white card was sponged with yellow before adhering the ice cream cone sections to it.

More Fun Samples from May New Release!

Hi, everyone!  Today I would like to share two more samples created with the May new releases from Divinity Designs LLC.

My first card gave me the giggles when it was finished!  It features the Dinosaur Stamp/Die Duos set, along with the Geometric Paper Pad and the following dies: Bethlehem (trees), Slimline Tree and Hill Silhouettes, Floating Frame Front, Matting Rectangle, A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer, and Clouds and Raindrops (sponged clouds). The frame and dino's were popped up with Foam Mounting Tape for dimension and Blending Brushes were used for most of the coloring. (My secret for coloring is to use a clear glaze pen on all of the items which will stay white, then colored the dino's with blending brushes in different yellow and green tones.  Since I don't have Copics, this method is my fave way to get a smooth look.)

I had fun creating my second card as well.  I began with Blending Brushes and ink on a slimline sized panel to create the water and sunset, then used the Pierced Waves Background Die twice in order to create enough for the three sections. The trees were cut with the Bethlehem Dies, the "sandy dune" was cut with the Slimline Tree and Hill Silhouettes Dies, and the sentiment was stamped and cut with the All Occasions Stamp/Die Duos set.  The Slimline Pierced Large Windows Frame was popped up with Foam Mounting Tape over the scene. Other dies used are the Slimline Pierced Rectangles and Slimline Card Base.

Happy 30th Anniversary!

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Karen aka ksenzak1....congrats, Karen!!  I chose this adorable cas card for inspiration today.  Tomorrow is Anniversary number 30 for hubby and I, so I created this card for him using the 'Wish You Were Hare' set by My Favorite Things.  He knows how busy I am since I work full time plus design for Divinity Designs, so he doesn't want me to spend a lot of time on cards for him. This set was perfect for a one layer card.  The image was stamped with Stazon Jet Black; the ears and nose were colored with a pink marker; a clear glaze pen coated the pink plus any of the spaces I wanted to stay white; lastly, the scene and image were colored with blending brushes and sponges using masking, reverse masking, and stenciling.  Cutting several masks took a little while, but I love how it turned out.  Since I don't have Copics, this is my fave way to color to achieve a smooth look.  I used a journaling pen to add the 30 to the heart.  The colors I used in my card are from the MFT Color Challenge, so I will be submitting to this as well.

Divinity Designs LLC May New Release!

Hi, everyone!  Welcome to the Divinity Designs LLC May New Release party!!!  To see the full release plus some AMAZING designer samples, please click HERE.  Also, if you follow DD on Instagram, there is an Instagram Hop today....with prizes!!

Here are the new items used in my three samples for today:

My first card features the Pierced Waves Background Die, Bold Blessings Stamp/Die Duo set, Pierced Vintage Labels 2 Dies, along with the Matting Rectangle, A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer Dies, Foam Mounting Tape, and Gemstones. The pattern in the background die reminded me of a peacock, so I found some pretty embroidery thread and cardstock which coordinated with it.  It took several days to do the stitching but I love how it turned out.  The purple layers are metallic so this looks really cool in the real!!  For the sentiment, I cut an extra layer with back as a shadow layer for more dimension.

My second card is a shaker card, featuring the adorable Dinosaurs Stamp/Die Duo set, Slimline Pierced Large Windows Die, along with the Slimline Pierced Rectangles Dies, Slimline Card Base, a fun pattern from the Beautiful Beaches Slimline Paper Pad, Foam Mounting Tape, and Sequins.
Last but not least, I created this fun fancy fold design with the All Occasion Stamp/Die Duo set, Pierced Vintage Labels 2 Dies, along with the Accordion Fold with Layers DiesVintage Labels 2 Dies, Bethlehem Dies (palm trees), Belly Band Dies, Park Silhouettes Dies (couple), Cowboy and Cactus Silhouettes Dies (bird), and two pieces of the same sunset pattern from the Sunset Skies Slimline Paper Pad. For the belly band design, the palm trees were cut from the black panel to show the sunset pattern beneath, then the trees were adhered to the scene on the card panel.

Hug A Cactus

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from Party Swizzle.  When I saw these super cute wine charms, I thought of this punny 'Let's Stick Together' stamp set from My Favorite Things.  My brother and I are known for our bear hugs, so I made this card for him. The image was stamped directly onto the kraft cardstock and colored with markers.  I used the pointillism technique for the ground.  The edges of the card base were sponged for a little more depth.

Simple Bouquet 'Perfect Birthday'

Hi, everyone!  This week's Clean and Simple Challenge theme over at Splitcoast is 'Blooms'......I am obsessed with this 'Blessings of Home' bundle from Stampin Up so I made another card with the similar colors as my last.  The image was stamped onto the card base with Versamark but the camera did not capture it well.  The image was then stamped with Stazon Jet Black onto watercolor paper and colored with an aquapainter.  The sentiment was cut out with the Sentiment Strips 2 Dies from Divinity Designs LLC and popped up with Foam Mounting Tape.
