Pink Sky Plains

Hi, everyone!  This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use Powder Pink, Moody Mauve, and Night of Navy.  I had a stack of various silhouette images which were already stamped with Stazon Jet Black, so all I had to do was blend the background with the three colors.  The image is from 'Howdy' and the sentiment is from 'Happy Trails', both from Divinity Designs LLC. Three pink milk dots were added for a simple embellishment.  This card with go into my birthday card stash.

Hello Sunshine!

Hi, everyone! This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use Calypso Coral, Pool Party, and Bermuda Bay with the dessert option of using two extra colors. For my card, I created a panel using the 'Wrinkle Free Distress' Technique with four different shades of aqua.  I used some fun dies from My Favorite Things to cut away from the blue panel and show the coral panel beneath.  A glitter pen was used to highlight the sun and letters plus some gems were added.  The panels were cut out with the Pierced Rectangles Dies and Matting Rectangle Die from Divinity Designs LLC.

Hi, everyone!  This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is number 1000!  I am honored to be a guest designer for the Color Challenge team for May and was super excited to be a part of this monumental challenge!  There are six past color challenges to choose from.  Each of the hostesses listed will be giving away goodies to some lucky participants!  Check out the challenge details HERE!  Hope you have a chance to play along!

For my card, I chose previous challenge# CC908: Basic Gray, Fresh Freesia, Bermuda Bay, with the dessert option of dies.  For my card today, I used some 'oldie but goodie' items from Divinity Designs LLC.  The fun designer paper is from the Notable Notes Paper Pad and I based the other elements around the colors in the paper.  The saxophone image is from 'Marvelous Things', colored with markers (using my MISTI); the sentiments are from 'Rock Star'.  The musical notes are from the 'Musical Notes Dies' set.  Other dies used are Pierced Squares, Pierced Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, and the A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer Dies set.

Coneflower Thank You

Happy Friday, everyone!  My card today is one of a group of thank you cards created for those who came to support me during my Dad's funeral visitation earlier this week.  I have combined this week's Splitcoast Color Challenge of Vanilla, Melon Mambo, and Pecan Pie, along with the Friday Free4All Challenge, which was to incorporate anything beginning with a 'B'.....brown is my 'B' word.  I have used the 'Nature's Harvest' stamp set by Stampin Up; the image was stamped with Stazon Timber Brown onto ivory cardstock; the petals were water-colored and the leaves were colored with markers.  I used an air-art tool for adding the 'splatters' once the coloring was finished.

Thank you for visiting with me today!

Flowers for Mom

Hi, everyone!  This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is one of my mom's favorite color combinations!  I did not go with the dessert option of 'sunflowers'.  The floral and 'Mom' dies are from Papertrey Ink; the Blending Brushes and Matting Rectangle Die are from Divinity Designs LLC.

YOUnicorn

Hi, everyone! This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast was perfect for creating a birthday card for my niece. The stamps and dies are from My Favorite Things. The image was colored with markers and then highlighted with a glitter pen, though the glitter did not show up in the photos. I used thin foam tape and sequin stickers so that it wouldn't cost more to mail.

Relax Your Way

Hi, everyone! This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is perfect for a masculine card: Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Pretty Peacock. I liked this card design so much so I made multiples with different colors; using the MISTI made the duplicates quick and easy! The image from 'A Good Man' by Stampin Up was stamped in Stazon Jet Black, water-colored and sponged, cut out with dies from Divinity Designs LLC, then adhered to a kraft card base with sponged edges.

Grateful To Call You Mom

Hi, everyone! This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use Real Red, Lemon Lolly, Pool Party, and Old Olive. I don't have Lemon Lolly yet, so I used Daffodil Delight. This card was created for my Step-Mom. I used some stamps and dies from Papertrey Ink which I picked up earlier this year. All of the flowers and leaves were die cut from white cardstock and colored with sponges or blending brushes....needless to say my hands were super inky!  Multiple flowers were cut out so I will ink up more flowers in different colors and share them with you! The background panel was cut out with the Matting Rectangle Die by Divinity Designs LLC; the Blending Brushes are also from DD.

Faith Mountain

Hi, everyone!  This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use Pebbled Path, Lost Lagoon, and Wild Wheat.....I do not have these SU colors yet but since I keep all of the retired colors from the past I can always find something similar. I began by choosing sage cardstock for the mountain and card base, then a cool pattern from the Heavenly Skies Slimline Paper Pad.  The sky and the center layer of the mountain was cut from the same piece of dsp. Before adhering the layers of the mountain, the sentiment from 'Move Mountains' was stamped onto the sage layer.  The Get Well sentiment was sponged with three colors to match the dsp, in a gradient fashion. Here are the dies used for this card, all from Divinity Designs LLC: Slimline Mountain Silhouettes, Cowboy and Cactus Silhouettes (birds), Slimline Card Base, Slimline Pierced Rectangles (and Pierced Layering Rectangles), Get Well Soon and Layers.

Foiled Flower Petal Birthday

Hi, everyone! This week's Color Challenge colors over at Splitcoast are very close to the pastel foil cardstock pack which I got from Michael's, however, I did not go with the dessert option of 'spooky'. My card today is for my great niece's birthday. The following dies from Divinity Designs LLC were used: Flower Petals Layering Combo, Flourished Square Background, Family Names 3, and the Square Card Base with Layer set.  Foam Mounting Tape was used to pop up the layers.  Some of the gold die cut pieces from the background die were used to embellish the corners, along with gemstones.

Flowers for a Friend

Hi, everyone! This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use Yellow, Coral, and Pumpkin. The 'dessert' option is to use another color, I chose aqua to blend onto the card base behind the flowers. The flowers are from a Simon Says Stamp set I bought over a year ago and the sentiment is from a Memory Box/Simon Says Stamp exclusive from two years ago. The flowers were stamped in my MISTI to get good coverage, then they were fussy cut and sponged with the three colors. A clear glaze pen was used on some of the stamens and leaves for a 'Glaze Pen Resist' effect.

Hooray, You're Two!

Hi, everyone! This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use Pool Party, Cherry Cobbler, and Old Olive. I needed a quick card to put in the mail this morning and these colors were perfect. The stamps are from 'Number Fun 2' from My Favorite Things. The image and sentiment was stamped on plain white cardstock, then water-colored. In hindsight I should have used watercolor paper but didn't have time to start over.

Blossoms In Bloom

Hi, everyone!  This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is Flamingo, Curry, and Pear.  My go-to stamp set for 'quick cards' is Blossom in Bloom by Stampin Up.  Using the MISTI makes a card like this super easy since you can add more ink and stamp multiple times.  Some clear gems were added as a finishing touch.  I made two identical cards to mail out to two of my friends who do not know each other! :)

CAS Birthday Flowers

Hi, everyone!  This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast was perfect to make a quick birthday card.  The stamp set I chose is 'Flowing Flowers' by Stampin Up.  The image was colored with markers and stamped using the MISTI to make sure I had good coverage.  The leaves were stamped first in green, then I used a marker to add a touch of purple.  The circle frame was cut with the following dies from Divinity Designs LLC: Scalloped Circles and Circles.  I did not add the Color Challenge dessert option of ribbon since I wanted the card to be flat for mailing.

Sweet Thoughts of You

Hi, everyone!  This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use Early Espresso, Mint Macaron, and Sweet Sorbet with a dessert option of something sweet.  I didn't have the exact colors, but got pretty close.  For my card, I chose 'Catching Butterflies' by Stampin Up and a white card base.  The images were stamped with Stazon Jet Black and lightly water-colored to keep the card from warping. The clouds were sponged and a butterfly trail was added with a fine tip marker.

I Dig You!

Hi, everyone!  This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast was perfect for a dino birthday card for my nephew.  I used the 'Dinoroar' set by Stampin Up for the dinosaur and grass, sponged the clouds over a stencil, sponged the ground over a piece of scratch paper, then cut out the panel with a Double Stitched Square Die from Divinity Designs LLC. No embellishments were added so it would be easy to mail.
