Divinity Designs LLC Birthday Flower of the Month - October

Hi, everyone! Divinity Designs LLC has another fun new Stamp/Die Duo set for the Birthday Flower of the Month.....the Marigold!  I love that these sets have dies for the sentiments as well as the image! Check out how to get yours HERE

For my first sample, the marigold image was heat embossed in white, on one background panel and three separate images.  For the background, I used the Wrinkle Free Distress technique to add the blended colors and the images were water-colored. Other items used: Double Stitched Rectangles, Pierced Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer, Blending Brushes, and Foam Mounting Tape.
For my second sample, I created a shaker card and water-colored the Marigold with pink and red to match the designer paper.  Other items used: Arch Shaker Set Dies, Pierced Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, Scalloped Rectangles, A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer, Foam Mounting Tape, Sequins.

Hello Sunshine!

Hi, everyone! This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use Calypso Coral, Pool Party, and Bermuda Bay with the dessert option of using two extra colors. For my card, I created a panel using the 'Wrinkle Free Distress' Technique with four different shades of aqua.  I used some fun dies from My Favorite Things to cut away from the blue panel and show the coral panel beneath.  A glitter pen was used to highlight the sun and letters plus some gems were added.  The panels were cut out with the Pierced Rectangles Dies and Matting Rectangle Die from Divinity Designs LLC.

Thankful and Grateful

Hi, everyone!  This week's Mix-ability Challenge over at Splitcoast is to incorporate metallics in your mixed media project.  For my card, I began creating the background with the Wrinkle Free Distress (or Smoosh) technique....dab several colors of ink pads onto a craft sheet, spritz with water, then 'dip' your cardstock into the puddle to soak in the colors.  Once dry, the panel was gold embossed with the Leaves Background by Divinity Designs LLC.  The sentiment panel was cut from the original WFD piece.  The sentiment from 'Bountiful Blessings' was gold embossed. The dies used for this card are also from Divinity Designs: Vintage Labels 2, Pierced Vintage Labels 2, Pierced Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, and A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer.  Blackberry Bliss ribbon, gold cording, and gold foil cardstock were also used to coordinate with the gold embossing powder and ink colors.

Be Still and Know

Hi, everyone!  Today I would like to share a card which was created about a year and a half ago but did not get posted anywhere.  (I have about a hundred cards with the same status....life gets in the way of blogging, ya know?)  Today's Friday Free 4 All Challenge is about 'Peace' and the Mixability Challenge is about 'Contentment'....I thought this card fit both of those challenges...my faith brings both peace and contentment.  The background panel (and top cross panel) were created with the Wrinkle Free Distress Technique (some call it the Smoosh Technique), by dabbing ink pads onto a craft mat, spritzing with water, then laying the cardstock in the puddle.  Once dry, the background panel was stenciled with both the Flourishes and Arrows Mixed Media Stencils. The scripture verse from 'Be Still' was heat embossed with pewter onto the 'yellow' Wrinkle Free Distress panel, then cut out with the largest of the Cross Layering Combo Dies set.  Other dies used: Bitty Blossoms, Pierced Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer.  Pewter brads were added to the corners to coordinate with the embossing powder.

A Field of Flowers

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from Calendars.com.  I absolutely loved the color combo of this pocket calendar, so I used purple and aqua ink to create a Wrinkle Free Distress panel. Once the panel was dry, the 'Botanical Beauty' background (from Taylored Expressions) and sentiment from 'Large Peony 4' (from The Ton) were stamped.  The panel was cut out with the Pierced Rectangles Dies from Divinity Designs LLC and layered with the Matting Rectangle. Though the camera did not capture them, there are a few tiny gemstones and some stickles here and there as well.

Happiest of Birthdays

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is embee46 (not sure what her name is).  I chose this awesome card to case today.  I loved the blended colors...the yellows and pinks and how they combined into orange tones, so I created a Wrinkle Free Distress background with So Saffron and Melon Mambo.  Once the panel was dry, I stamped this 'Botanical Beauty' background stamp (from Taylored Expressions) with Melon Mambo.  The sentiment is from 'Bitty Birthday Wishes' (from My Favorite Things).  The sentiment was cut out and framed with the Sentiment Strips 2 Dies from Divinity Designs LLC; the WFD panel was cut with the Pierced Rectangles Dies, layered with the Matting Rectangle Die, also from Divinity Designs.

Rainbow Peek a boo

Hi, everyone!  This week's Ways To Use It Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use water in some way....my peek-a-boo card fits right in!  The background panels were all created with the Wrinkle Free Distress technique with aqua ink.  The rest of the card is simple die cutting and layering (and a couple of stamps).  This is the front view of the card showing one sentiment. Here are the items from Divinity Designs LLC used to create this fun card:  Sentiment Collection 2 stamps and the following dies: Peek-A-Boo Card with Layers, A2 Rainbow and Clouds.
This is the inside view, showing the 2nd sentiment.

Hap-Bee Birthday

Hi, everyone! It's time for another fun Sketch Challenge at Splitcoast! For my card, I began by creating a Wrinkle Free Distress background using mustard and cocoa ink; once dry, the panel was cut out with the largest die from the Pierced Rectangles Dies.  The Quilted Honeycomb Background Die was used with mustard cardstock, then a portion of it was cut by hand for the center of the card.  The rectangle in the center was cut with the Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, using the Die-Resizing Technique to make it taller.  The Honeycomb Mini stamp (retired) was used on the center panel.  The bees and sentiment are from the 'Bee-Lieve' Stamp/Die Duos set.  Other dies used: Double Stitched Circles, Circles, Matting Rectangle, and the A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer.  Linen thread was added at the top and a glitter pen highlighted the bee wings.  This will go into my birthday stash. (Note:  all stamps and dies are from Divinity Designs LLC.)

Divinity Designs LLC Mid-Month Release!

Hi, everyone!  Welcome to the 2nd New Release party for Divinity Designs LLC for September!  To see all of the new items and gorgeous designer samples, visit THIS POST.

Here are the new items I have used for my two card samples for today:

My first card is a Slimline design which features the new Lacey Leaves Stamp/Die Duos set, the new Slimline Rounded Windows Die and the following items: Many Blessings Stamp/Die Duos, Flourises Embossing Folder, Pierced Rectangles Dies (matted with the Sentiment Strips Dies), Slimline Scalloped Rectangles Dies, and the Slimline Card Base.

Peeking through the triple window is a Wrinkle Free Distress panel (using the same color inks as the leaves) which was embossed with the Flourishes Embossing Folder.  All of the leaves (and the sentiment) were copper embossed then sponged with various inks.  Copper cardstock and copper cording were used to accentuate the copper embossing.

This is a view of the inside, which features two more of the copper embossed leaves, the Slimline Pierced Frame Die, Scalloped Ovals Dies, Pierced Ovals Dies, Ovals Dies, and a sentiment from the Seasons Change Stamp/Die Duos set.

My second card features the new Pumpkin Layering Combo Dies (LOVE), a pretty design from the Festive Fall Slimline Paper Pad, the largest of the Pierced Frames Dies set, the 'Happy' Stamp/Die Duos set, Sentiment Strips Dies, and the A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer Dies set.  Peeking through the gold layering of the pumpkins is an alcohol ink panel of red, orange, and gold tones.  The sentiment was gold embossed to match the gold cardstock used.  Golden yellow sequins, linen thread, and burlap ribbon were used as embellishments.

Appreciate The Journey

Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Kelly aka sunstamper....congrats, Kelly!!  I really loved these two dragonfly cards, so I chose them both for my case.  Instead of designer paper, I created a Wrinkle Free Distress panel with turquoise and purple inks for the background.  The dragonflies and sentiment are from the 'Friend to Friend' Stamp/Die Duos set by Divinity Designs LLC and the background panel was cut out with the Double Stitched Rectangles Dies. Matching baker's twine was added for a simple embellishment.  No foam tape was added since this is going in the mail for a friend's birthday.

God is Good All the Time!

SplitcoastStampers Sketch Challenge 809
Hi, everyone! You guessed it......time for another Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoast!!  For my card this week, I began by creating a Wrinkle Free Distress Panel with Navy, Green, and Brown ink pads.  Once the panel was dry, it was cut out with the Pierced Rectangles Dies.  The sentiment and image are from the 'God's Timing' set by Divinity Designs LLC; the clock image was inked with markers using the Thumping method and then stamped multiple times onto the card base and again on white then cut out with the Pocket Watch Dies set.  The sentiment was cut out of the background panel with the Large Banners Dies, using the Die-Resizing Technique to create just the perfect size....check out this technique HERE. Burlap ribbon and linen thread were added as finishing touches.

Sand and Surf Vacation Shirt

Hi, everyone!  Today's Ways to Use It Challenge over at Splitcoast is 'Sand and Surf'.  For my card, I began by creating a Wrinkle Free Distress (or 'Smoosh') panel with two shades of brown and two shades of aqua.  (Simply swipe ink pads onto a craft sheet, spritz with water, then smoosh your paper into the ink.)  After the panel was dry, it was cut out with the 'Everyday Shirt' Dies by Divinity Designs LLC, stamped with the 'Footsteps' Stamp/Die Duos set, and adhered to the card base cut out with the 'Couture Collection' Dies.  This was so fun to make...and easy too!  The toughest part was handling the tiny, tiny buttons!! :)

Divinity Designs LLC May New Release

Hi, everyone! Welcome to the new release party for Divinity Designs LLC!!! It's another super fun, creative release.....check out all of the new products HERE, plus designer samples and info on how you can win some goodies!!

Here are the products I've used in my two new samples for today plus the sneak peek from earlier this week:

My first card features the new 'Everyday Shirt' Dies set, the new 'Cool and Casual' Paper Pad, part of the exclamation point from the new 'Alphabet Caps' Dies, and some previously released dies: Couture Collection, Pierced Circles, and Sparkling Stars.  When I saw the southwestern paper pattern, I knew I wanted to create a shirt with a bolo tie....the circle and star was easy but it took me a while to figure out what to use for the tie ends which are usually metal......until I looked on my desk and saw the exclamation point in the new alphabet set!!!  Perfect shape and size...yay!!!

For my next card, I began by creating a Wrinkle Free Distress (or "smoosh") panel by smudging two aqua and two brown inks on a craft sheet, spritzed some water, then mopped up the color with a piece of watercolor paper (you can also used regular cardstock).  Once dry, the panel was cut out with a Pierced Rectangle Die, then stamped with the 'Footsteps' Stamp/Die Duos set.  I wanted the footsteps to be inset, so I cut out the foot prints with the custom die and set them aside.  Several layers of cardstock were layered behind the panel and the die was used to cut the layers through the same openings.  The panel was adhered to the white mat which was cut with the Matting Rectangle, then the foot prints were sponged a little darker and adhered into the die cut openings.  The turquoise card was cut out with the A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer Dies.  For the finishing touches, some linen thread was added, along with some shrink plastic foot prints which were stamped with Stazon Timber Brown, cut out with the die, then heated with a heat gun to shrink.

Some of you may have seen this card a few days ago....it was a sneak peek of the Alphabet Caps Dies and a tropical pattern from the 'Cool and Casual' Paper Pad.  If you'd like to read more about how it was created, click HERE.
