Field of Flowers

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Kathy aka laurasbuffy....congrats, Kathy!  I loved the blended background colors of this beautiful card from Kathy's awesome gallery.  For my card, I used a watercolor wash technique with a wide brush.  After the panel was dry, it was stamped with 'Botanical Beauty' background stamp from Taylored Expressions and a sentiment from 'Large Peony 4' by The Ton, then cut out with a Double Stitched Rectangles Die from Divinity Designs LLC.  Lavender baker's twine and rhinestones were added for finishing touches.

Hello, Lovely

Hi, everyone!  This week's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is to create a spring-time card.....I cannot wait for my Magnolia trees to bloom!!!  For my card today, I gold embossed the sentiment and magnolia branch from 'Magnificent Magnolia' by The Ton on watercolor paper.  The image and background were water-colored with Stampin Up re-inkers and an aquabrush.  Once dry, the panel was cut out with a Pierced Rectangle Die from Divinity Designs LLC, matted with gold cardstock, then added gold cord and tiny Crystal Pixie Gems.  This is a birthday card for my niece.

Sunny Yellow

Hi, everyone!  This week's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is 'Sunny Yellow'.....it's been bitter cold here in Indiana and I'm happy to think about sunny days!  I found this background panel in my stash, stamped the Taylored Expression 'Botanical Beauty' background and the sentiment from 'Large Peony 4' from The Ton (since they were both still on my desk from this card), cut the panel out with the Divinity Designs LLC 'Double Stitched Rectangles' Dies, and layered onto a yellow card. Three rhinestones were added for a simple embellishment.  This will be a birthday card for a dear friend who will definitely appreciate the 'sunny yellow' right now!

A Field of Flowers

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from Calendars.com.  I absolutely loved the color combo of this pocket calendar, so I used purple and aqua ink to create a Wrinkle Free Distress panel. Once the panel was dry, the 'Botanical Beauty' background (from Taylored Expressions) and sentiment from 'Large Peony 4' (from The Ton) were stamped.  The panel was cut out with the Pierced Rectangles Dies from Divinity Designs LLC and layered with the Matting Rectangle. Though the camera did not capture them, there are a few tiny gemstones and some stickles here and there as well.

Amazing Day

Hi, everyone!  Brrrr...it's only 15 degrees here in Indiana today, but I'm dreaming of my magnolia trees being in full bloom....hurry up, spring!!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from Kia's Afternoon Tea Pinterest Board.....I chose this beautiful set as my inspiration piece.  A few month's ago, at a stamp show, I picked up a couple of stamp sets from 'The Ton' stamp company , which I had never heard of before.  Today I am inking one of them up for a birthday card for a friend.  The magnolia image and sentiment were gold embossed on watercolor paper; the blossoms and background were water-colored.  Since the tea cup and saucer had gold rims, I used gold metallic paper for mats and gold cording to coordinate with the gold embossing powder.  The main panel was cut out with the Pierced Rectangles Dies from Divinity Designs LLC. The pretty gemstones are also from DD.
