Christian Paper Crafts Scripture Saturday

Ahhhhh...finally Saturday....it's been a long week! Today I am celebrating the weekend with a couple of simple cards, the first for Christian Paper Crafts' Scripture Saturday Challenge. This week's challenge is to use the verse from Psalm 84:12 on your layout, card, or altered item. Since I did not have this verse in a stamp, I printed it out from my pc. The background stamps are Stampin' Up "Artifacts"....an old stand-by for masculine cards!

I have included the following challenges in this card:
DTGD10KimHughes;
DTGD10justwritedesigns02;
Just Add Ink: "man card" with Kraft, Baja, and Chocolate;
Raise the Bar: Use a sticker on your project.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a fun birthday card I made using Spellbinders Nested Butterflies. The Memory Box "Enchanted" designer paper was cut out with the largest die.....the card was cut out by hand after embossing the same die onto the lilac cardstock.....for me, it's easier to cut out the embossed shape rather than trace it. The sentiment from the Our Daily Bread designs' set, Happy Birthday, was cut out by hand, sponged, and popped up. The flower and pearls are by Zva Creative. There are several layers of Pearl Glimmer Mist for a shimmery finish.

I have used the following challenges for this card:
Splitcoast's Inspiration Challenge: I chose this Purple Porched Birdhouse from Birdhouse Blessings Etsy Store;
DTGD10tiffguam;
One Stop Craft Challenge: Patterns;
Paper Play: Anything goes;
Stampin B's: Birthday;
Stampin Royalty: K.I.S.S.= Keep It Simple Sweetie;
Party Time Tuesday: Anything goes Birthday;
Crazy Challenge: Birthday;
Ooh La La: Birthday;
Cowgirl Challenge: Anything Goes.

Thanks for stopping by today!! Come back Sunday morning for Our Daily Bread designs' New Release/Blog Hop........there are six new sets and some brand new very exciting accessories to be released as well......you don't want to miss out!!!!

Bible Verse Thursday - Handmade Flowers

Happy Thursday, everyone!!! This week's Bible Verse Thursday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts is a little different this week......you choose the theme, you choose a Bible verse.....just one catch....you have to use hand-made flower(s) on your card, layout, or altered item. Make your flowers from cardstock, lace, ribbon, gems, etc. or pop up several stamped and cut images for a little paper tole!

For my sample today, I have used one of the new Cuttlebug Flower Quilling Kits, Chrysanthemum, for my hand-made flower....the green center was coated with Ranger Glassy Glaze. The "faux brads" at the bottom were punched with a 1/4" hole punch and coated with Glassy Glaze as well. The scripture verse I used is from an Our Daily Bread designs' set, "Bless This Home". I added several layers of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist for a shimmery finish!

I have also used a few other challenges as well:
DTGD10Blondie090277;
DTGD10justwritedesigns01;
DTGD10JeanneS;
For Fun Challenges: bright summer colors;
Crafty Creations: summer;
Sensational Saturday Sketch: no dsp.

A triple play today! I'm behind on posting, so here are three projects I made this week, some using the Splitcoast "Dare To Get Dirty" challenges for the Fan Club members and also various other challenges around blog-land. I will cut right to the chase.

My second card is with a brand new set from Our Daily Bread designs, "Harvest Blessings", which will be released on August 1st. This is a 3x5 steno pad I decorated for my hubby......I couldn't let him use that ugly, plain ole pad without sprucing it up a bit, could I? Besides, it was perfect timing when he asked since I was trying to squeeze in some special challenges anyway, including:

DTGD10debbiedee;
DTGD10BevMom01;
Speedy the Cat's Friend's Challenge: masculine project.

The stamps used are from Our Daily Bread designs' "Our Daily Bread" and the designer paper is Basic Grey "Max & Whiskers".

I'm really beginning to love doing more CAS style cards.....it's quite a relief not to have to spend 3 hours on each card! Since I had a plan mapped out for this one, it only took me a little over an hour...yay!!

I have used several challenges for this card: The Color Throwdown Challenge #100 is to use Real Red, Regal Rose, Baja Breeze, and Certainly Celery.....this "Que Sera" designer paper by K & Co. has every color in it....I love it!! The Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge is all about rest or peace....I instantly thought of this scripture verse from the Our Daily Bread designs' "Scripture Collection 2".....what a wonderful reminder! The sketch layout is from this week's Corrosive Challenge...out of all of the great sketches out there this week, this one really spoke to me!!!

This week's Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast is to choose one of the antique items from the Blue Carrot Shop.....what a fun store!! Though it was fun to see a lot of household items from my youth, I was very interested to see all of the letterpress blocks, how the letters were stained from different colors of inks......boy, technology sure put an end to a lot of printing presses!!! This set of letters reminded me of this vintage designer paper from K & Co "Madeline". Also at Splitcoast this week, the Free4All challenge is "Show Us What You Got"....show us some new stuff....that would be these awesome 3d flowers!

This week at Christian Paper Crafts, our featured artist for Wednesday Case Artist is the uber-talented Anita! Check out her awesome gallery HERE!!! Today is actually my birthday, however, I have been planning a surprise party for my hubby for today to celebrate his big promotion at work.....he works for Target Distribution Center in Indianapolis, hence, the target card!!!! He thinks that his parents are taking us out tonight for my birthday dinner, but all of his family and mine will be there to celebrate HIM!!! I can't wait to see his face!!!!!

This card was so fun to make......and I was able to squeeze in some challenges for this one as well:

"Bless This House"

My hubby's grandmother.....you've seen her before as "Biker Granny"on this previous post...just received some great news this week that her home is paid for.....what a relief this news would be to anyone! So, I thought she would love a happy card to help celebrate her mortgage freedom!!! She loves everything pink, so pink it is!!!

This week's Technique Lover's Challenge is to make your own flowers....finally I have the chance to break out my new Cuttlebug Quilling Sets!!! This week's Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast is to choose an item from Oompa....the most fun and awesome kid's store! I chose this Little Horse Carpet, because I just fell in love with the bright colors! Also, this past week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Charlene aka cookiebaker.....what an awesome gallery to cruise through!!! I chose this card to case because I loved the CAS design......perfect to break out a new Our Daily Bread designs set, called "Bless This Home". I have also used the following challenges for my cottage card: Sentimental Sundays challenge is about celebrations; the All Sorts challenge is to create a scene; the Etsy Inspired Challenge was to choose an item from the Kimmieprout store...I chose these fun pink buttons; the Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge is to use die cuts (quilled flower); the Magical Crafts Challenge is "Flower Power"; the challenge at Crazy Challenges is "up in the air", so I sponged some clouds; the Pile it On Challenge is to use your favorite things....paper piercing and pearls are definitely my faves!!!

My second card is a quick card I made for my bosses' birthday. I was so happy to have a vision of a clean and simple card for once....my aching back thanked me for this one!!!! I was also happy to be able to squeeze in a few challenges for this as well!!

This week's Color Monday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts is to use celery and brown....hopefully black is considered a neutral! Since this is a "guy card", I didn't add the polka dots!!! The Paper Playtime challenge is "It's a Guy Thing". It's been a while since I've used any Stampin' Up stamps....they are getting a bit dusty.....had to break out one of my faves, "Lovely As A Tree", which is always a good one for masculine cards. (Sorry, I didn't take the time to find the box belonging to the sentiment to see what the name was.)

Thanks for stopping by today! See you on Thursday right here for another Bible Verse Thursday challenge combined with a new Stamping in Time: On Assignment challenge!! God Bless!
