Field of Flowers

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Kathy aka laurasbuffy....congrats, Kathy!  I loved the blended background colors of this beautiful card from Kathy's awesome gallery.  For my card, I used a watercolor wash technique with a wide brush.  After the panel was dry, it was stamped with 'Botanical Beauty' background stamp from Taylored Expressions and a sentiment from 'Large Peony 4' by The Ton, then cut out with a Double Stitched Rectangles Die from Divinity Designs LLC.  Lavender baker's twine and rhinestones were added for finishing touches.

Happy Marriage Recipe

Hi, everyone!  Happy Friday!!  This week's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is to 'Put A Heart On It'.  My card today was made for a bridal shower. (The stamps, designer paper, dies, and embossing folder are from Divinity Designs LLC.)  The 'Happy Marriage Recipe' stamp was placed in my MISTI and stamped several times to make sure all of the words had even ink coverage.  The designer paper is from the 'Wedding Flowers' Slimline Paper Pad; the recipe card was cut out with the Recipe Card Die, matted on gold metallic then fussy cut around the edge, then matted on pink and fussy cut again (since there are no layering dies.)  The ivory background panel was dry embossed with the Flourishes Embossing Folder, cut out with the Pierced Rectangles Dies, matted with the Matting Rectangle in gold, and adhered to the card which was cut with the A2 Landscape Card Base with Layer Dies.  Satin pink ribbon and tiny gold hearts (cut with the Clouds and Raindrops Dies) were added for finishing touches.

NFL Birthday x 2

Hi, everyone!  This week's Ways To Use It Challenge theme is 'It's a Banner Day!', so I am posting two birthday cards I made recently, one for a co-worker and one for a friend to give to his brother.  For both cards, I used the same items, but personalized them with added touches to match the official jerseys.  The stripes on the sleeves were drawn with a journal pen and ruler on a separate piece of cardstock and colored with markers, fussy cut, then glued onto the jerseys.  The numbers were fussy cut even though there are coordinating dies.....I didn't want the white outline. For the banners, I used the die re-sizing technique to match the size of the sentiment stamp.  Other than the stars embossing folders, the rest of the items used are from Divinity Designs LLC: All-Star Jerseys Stamp/Die Duos, Rectangles Dies, Sparkling Stars Dies, Pennant Flags Dies, Double Stitched Pennant Flags Dies, Foam Mounting Tape.

CAS Birthday Flowers

Hi, everyone!  This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast was perfect to make a quick birthday card.  The stamp set I chose is 'Flowing Flowers' by Stampin Up.  The image was colored with markers and stamped using the MISTI to make sure I had good coverage.  The leaves were stamped first in green, then I used a marker to add a touch of purple.  The circle frame was cut with the following dies from Divinity Designs LLC: Scalloped Circles and Circles.  I did not add the Color Challenge dessert option of ribbon since I wanted the card to be flat for mailing.

Happy Third Birthday!

Hi, everyone!  Today is '123' day (January 23rd), so today's Clean and Simple Challenge over at Splitcoast is to include numbers in your CAS cards.  My card today is for one of my little nieces.  I used one of the Number Fun sets from MFT, colored with markers and water-coloring.  A few clouds were cut out and added for balance.  The scene was cut out with Double Stitched Squares Dies and Squares Dies from Divinity Designs LLC.

Rainbow In The Clouds

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from the Frankie Print Co's Pinterest board......I chose this photo for today.  This is a birthday card for one of my nieces who loves rainbows, glitter, and all things girly!  I began by cutting the rainbow seven times with the 'Slimline Rainbow and Clouds' Die set by Divinity Designs LLC, once in white and again for each color for the inserts.  The tiny hearts from the 'Clouds and Raindrops' Dies set were cut from the same colors.  The scripture verse is from the 'Rainbow of Hope' stamp set.  Other items used are Rainbow Sherbet Paper Pad, Foam Mounting Tape, a Blending Brush for the clouds, and the following dies: Pierced Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, and the A2 Landscape Card Base with Layer.

New Home Celebration

Hi, everyone!  This week's Friday Free4All Challenge theme over at Splitcoast is 'Celebrate!'.....my card today is for my nephew who just moved into a new home.  I looked up photos of the house online and re-created the actual door; the house is gray and white with black accents, so that is how I created the card. The dies I used are from Divinity Designs LLC: Mini Slimline Scalloped Rectangles, Mini Slimline Rectangles, Mini Slimline Card Base, Letter Board, and the door panels were cut with the Belly Band Dies set. A large silver brad was used for the door knob.

Moonlit Deer

Hi, everyone!  This week's Ways To Use It Challenge theme over at Splitcoast is 'Black and Blue'.  The scenic stamp is 'Silhouette Forest' by Blue Knight Rubber Stamps, the deer are from Stampscapes and the sentiment is from the 'Happy Trails' stamp set by Divinity Designs LLC.  Also from DD are the Sentiment Strips Dies, Circle Die for the moon mask, the A2 Thin Pierced Frame Die, a Blending Brush for the navy ink, and Foam Mounting Tape to pop up the sentiment and frame.

Lakefront Birthday

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from the fun vintage poster collection at Vintagraph.....this poster (shown below) reminded me of the 'Oceanfront' stamp set from Stampin Up.  I wasn't able to add the boy but was able to create a similar scene by using masking (and my MISTI to line up each stamp, of course!)  It was challenging to get everything lined up but it was worth it! The sentiment stamp is from 'Special Moments' and speckles were added to the shore with the oldie but goodie 'Itty Bitty Backgrounds'.  The scenic panel was cut out with a Double Stitched Rectangles Die from Divinity Designs LLC.

Hakuna Matata!

Hi, everyone!  This week's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use 'Zoo Friends' on our projects.  For my card, I used the 'Safari Huge Thanks' set from Hero Arts.  The entire scene was sponged using masking and reverse masking.  Thanks to my MISTI, I was able to get crisp images with the black ink by stamping each image multiple times.  The A2 Thin Pierced Frame from Divinity Designs LLC was popped up with Foam Mounting Tape.

Sweet Thoughts of You

Hi, everyone!  This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use Early Espresso, Mint Macaron, and Sweet Sorbet with a dessert option of something sweet.  I didn't have the exact colors, but got pretty close.  For my card, I chose 'Catching Butterflies' by Stampin Up and a white card base.  The images were stamped with Stazon Jet Black and lightly water-colored to keep the card from warping. The clouds were sponged and a butterfly trail was added with a fine tip marker.
