Lose Yourself In Nature

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from the Sherwin Williams site....I chose this wallpaper sample....the colors and silhouette really spoke to me!  For my card, I chose the 'Find Beauty' set by North Coast Creations.  The stamp was inked up with lime green and wisteria to match the sponged background.  This panel was actually my second try....I first used lime and gray as in the photo but it did not look good at all, so I chose a smoky purple instead...I could have finished the original, but it is very likely that I would never send it to anyone. Once the panel was sponged and stamped, it was cut out with a tall rectangle die from the Divinity Designs Custom Lever Card Layers Dies set. Purple sequins and baker's twine were added as finishing touches.

Divinity Designs LLC Color Combo Design Team Challenge

Divnity Designs January Color Combo Design Team Challenge

Hi, everyone!  Last week a new feature was introduced on the Divinity Designs LLC Blog....a monthly color challenge for the design team.  It's week two and now it's my turn to share a sample.  The challenge colors coordinate with the gorgeous Romantic Roses Paper Pad...it's one of my favorite paper collections!  The following products from Divinity Designs were used in my card: Romantic Roses Paper Pad, Flourishes Embossing Folder, Double Pierced Vintage Labels Dies, Vintage Labels Dies, Pierced Rectangles Dies, Leafy Edged Borders Dies, and the Vintage Bird Labels stamp set.  The image and sentiment were stamped in black; the panel was colored with sponges and ink with the three challenge colors, then cut out and matted.  Pearls and satin ribbon (tied with a Bow Easy) were added as simple embellishments.

Let Me Sow Love

Hi, everyone!  My card today was created for two challenges over at Splitcoast: FridayFree4All (love themed with no hearts) and the Mixability 'Text/Script' Challenge.  I began by swiping three different ink pads onto a craft sheet, spritzing it with water, then mopped up the colors with a piece of white tissue paper.  This is the 'Tissue Paper Watercoloring' Technique.  The tissue was pressed onto a white panel which had been run through a Xyron Sticker Maker, then the panel was cut out with the DD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies.  The 'Prayer of St. Francis' was stamped, then the butterfly from 'Butterfly and Bugs' was stamped then colored with colored pencils with coordinating colors. This was a very quick card to make....yay!

CAS Notecard Set with Belly Band

Hi, everyone!  Today I would like to share a set of four clean and simple note cards plus a belly band which holds them all together.  The belly band was cut with the DD Custom Belly Band Dies out of aqua cardstock (which matches the sponging on each card).  The top layer of the belly band is watercolor paper which was embossed with the DD Flourishes Embossing Folder and lightly inked with aqua.  The three flowers were cut out with the DD Custom Bitty Blossoms Dies (these are also found in the DD Custom Festive Favors Dies set.)  The word die is from the 'Thanks For Everything' Stamp/Die Duos set.

This is a photo of all four cards together, including the belly band in the center.

All four CAS cards were made from watercolor paper.  Each image was stamped in Stazon Jet Black, colored with markers and water-coloring, then coated with a clear glaze pen.  Aqua ink was sponged around each image as a highlight.  The first card features the 'Peach Branch' stamp set from the January release.

This card features the 'Apple Branch' set.

This image and sentiment are from the 'Peach Branch' set, but I colored the fruit as plums instead of peaches.

This card features the 'Lemon Branch' set.  (This card was shown here a few weeks ago as a sneak peek, so you may recognize it.  This card gave me to the idea to make a four card set.)

Sending Lots of Love

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper is Marge Yoon....congrats, Marge!!  I chose this gorgeous card to case today.  I used a different stencil, different colors, and a different sentiment, but kept the basic design the same.  After stenciling the panel with coral and pear, watered-down acrylic paint was splattered with a paintbrush before adding the word die and sentiment from the 'Sending My Love' Stamp/Die Duo set from Divinity Designs. The small sentiment was white embossed on black cardstock as on Marge's card and the word die was shadowed with black.  The two rectangles were cut out with the DD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies set.  Clear sequins were added as a finishing touch.  I will also be submitting this card to the Mixability 'Coral' Challenge and Ways To Use It 'Resolution' Challenge...I resolve to be brave and use more mediums on my projects this year. This card will be mailed out to a dear friend who is having health issues.

Chocolate Hearts Treat Bag

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from birdhouses found on Etsy.  My search ended when I saw this adorable Valentine themed birdhouse with the heart opening since it reminded me of the the heart inset die in the Festive Favors die set from Divinity Designs.  The treat bag was cut out of Cherry Cobbler to match the strip of designer paper from the Heart and Soul Collection.  The Layering Hearts Dies and Clouds and Raindrops Dies were used to cut out the added heart decorations. The sentiment on the tag is from the Festive Favors Tag Sentiments clear set.

Lots of Hugs / Stacked Stencils

Hi, everyone!  My card today was created for both the Technique Lover's 'Stacked Stencils' Challenge and the Clean and Simple 'Circles' Challenge over at Splitcoast.  I began by stacking a tiny circle stencil over a large circle stencil and sponged daffodil and cantaloupe inks.  Once the panel was finished, it was cut out with the Divinity Designs Custom Large Banner Dies set.  The word and sentiment are from the DD 'Hugs' Stamp/Die Duos set.  I have a spool of extra thick cantaloupe baker's twine, which makes cards a little too lumpy in the envelope, so I separated the strand into three sections to make it thinner.  I love that it becomes wavy once you unravel it!  The banner panel was matted in cantaloupe and adhered to a daffodil card base.  These bright colors were chosen since I am way over this dreary winter weather and can't wait for some sunshine! :)

Stenciled Pansies

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Lori aka ArtzadoniaStudio...congrats, Lori!!  I chose this gorgeous card to case from Lori's gallery (flipped the layout to horizontal).  My intention was to use the same shaved pencil technique but I could not find my pencil sharpener ANYWHERE! (Grrr!)  So, I used ink and sponges instead.  The stencil I used is one I bought over 22 years ago to decorate/paint my new mailbox when we moved.   The stencil was taped down to watercolor paper; a yellow marker was used to color the pansy centers then a clear glaze pen sealed the yellow in to protect it from the purples.  Olive, lavender and razzleberry inks were sponged. Once the stencil was lifted, yellow was sponged in the center (which unfortunately smeared some of the razzleberry.)  The panel was cut out with the DD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies and the sentiment from 'My Friend' (also from Divinity Designs) was stamped in Stazon Gothic Purple.  Since I used three different mediums and one of the oldest craft items in my stash, I will also submit this to the MIX311 challenge from Friday.  Since the stencil used was re-purpsed for paper-crafting instead of a painting stencil for home decor, I will also submit this to the December Fan Club 'Flea Market Flip' Challenge.

Triple Challenge Stencil Stamping

Hi, everyone!  My clean and simple card today covers three challenges over at Splitcoast.  This week's Featured Stamper is one of my Divinity Designs designer sisters, Kathy Schweinfurth aka dani114....congrats, Kathy!  I chose this gorgeous stenciled card to case, changing the stencil, colors, and scripture verse.  Today's Technique Lover's Challenge is to create a monochromatic design....I chose three shades of turquoise for my card.  Today's Clean and Simple Challenge is to use stenciling....I used the 'Stencil Stamping' Technique for my CAS card.  The 'Petals' Mixed Media Stencil was inked with two different shades of turquoise, then spritzed with water and pressed onto a white cardstock panel which was cut out with the DD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies. The scripture verse is from the 'Peach Branch' stamp set and the butterflies were cut out with the DD Custom Bitty Butterflies Dies.  Clear gemstones were added on the butterflies and below the scripture.  This card was so quick and easy that I made two cards just alike....yay!!

Apple Basket Half-Shutter Card

Hi, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from The Spruce.....I chose this rustic apple basket photo.  For my card, I have used some new goodies from Divinity Designs (formerly Our Daily Bread designs).  The card base was cut out with the Half-Shutter Card with Layers Dies; the stamps are from 'Fruit of the Spirit'and the other dies used are: Ornate Ovals, Ovals, Sewing , and Lavish Layers. The red polka dot designer paper is from the 'Old Glory' Paper Collection.  To keep with the country feel, burlap ribbon was used behind each panel and faux buttons were die cut, coated with a glaze pen, then linen thread was added.  For the rectangle panel, three strips of ribbon were adhered to the back, then trimmed for a frame.

Divinity Designs LLC January New Release

Hi, everyone!  Welcome to the January new release party for Divinity Designs LLC (formerly known as Our Daily Bread designs).  If you haven't heard about the name change yet, please visit this post.  I am super excited about this month's release, especially about the new embossing folder and mixed media stencils....yay!!  See the entire new release HERE, along with info on how you could win some goodies!

Here are the products featured in my projects for today:

My first card is a fancy fold which includes a matching belly band. There are several views below showing the different sections.  The purple card base was cut out with the Half-Shutter Card with Layers Dies, layered with shimmery white paper which was embossed with the new 'Flourishes' Embossing Folder.  The first photo shows the Belly Band Die Set which is embellished with a flower and leaves from the Festive Favors Dies (these can also be found in the Bitty Blossoms Dies set).  All of the ovals in this project were cut out with the Layered Lacey Ovals and Ovals Dies.  All of the stamps shown on this fancy fold card are from the 'Peach Branch' stamp set.

This view is the front of the card without the belly band.

The peach branch image was stamped in Stazon Jet Black, then water-colored then sponged around the edge.

This view shows the entire card plus the belly band in front. The dies used on the 3rd section are Lavish Layers and Pierced Rectangles.  I chose this cut out frame design for the last section so that the beautiful embossed layer would be visible underneath.

My next project is an open sided gift bag, cut out with the Festive Favors Dies.  The gift pouch, tag, circle opening and flower spray were all cut with this die set.  The designer paper used for the flap is from the Christmas Collection 2015 and the sentiment is from the Festive Favors Tag Sentiments set. (The goodies inside are 'soft-stick' peppermint from Cracker Barrel....yummy!)

The next four cards are a set, created with the new stencils and each of the four new stamp sets this month.  The first card features the 'Lemon Branch' set, along with the 'Circles' Mixed Media Stencil.  For this background, I used sponge daubers and ink to sponge through the stencil, then cut out the panel with the Pierced Rectangles Dies.  The images on each of the four cards colored with markers, sponging, and water-coloring and were cut out with the Pierced Ovals Dies, matted with the Ovals Dies.  Sequins were added to each for simple embellishments.

My next card features the 'Peach Branch' set, along with the 'Petals' Mixed Media Stencil.  For this background, two different ink pads were swiped directly onto the stencil; the stencil was spritzed with water and pressed onto white cardstock.

Next is a card which features the 'Fruit of the Spirit' set and 'Circles' Mixed Media Stencil.  This stencil was used with basic gradient sponging through the stencil openings.

My last card features the 'Apple Branch' set, along with the 'Petals' Mixed Media Stencil.  This background was also created with 'Stencil Stamping' as in the peach card above.

Thanks for hanging out with us today!

God bless!
