NEW RELEASE / BLOG HOP / DT COLOR CHALLENGE / GUEST DESIGNER CONTEST

WOW, July is here already!!! And that means brand new sets from Our Daily Bread Designs!!!! This set is called, "Let Us Begin", one of two beautiful sets which feature Mother Teresa's brilliant words. We girls on the ODBD Design Team, lovingly called "The Breadsticks", were given a challenge to use three colors ONLY from the Our Daily Bread Designs ink pad collection. I chose Olive, Terra Cotta, and Sunflower. The background scene was sponged with my three colors onto watercolor paper. The layout is Splitcoast's Sketch Challenge today....a little tricky for the set I wanted to use!! The lotus flowers were colored with a blender pen and ink, and then painted with Buttercream Shimmerz.....don't forget....Shimmerz is on sale this week at ODBD!!!
Finished with LOTS of paper piercing, Hero Arts black pearls, and satin ribbon by May Arts.

Amazing Grace Sneak Peek

Here is another sneak peek from Our Daily Bread Designs, called, of course, "Amazing Grace". This single stamp, along with four other sets, will be released on July 1st. DON'T FORGET TO COME BACK ON THE FIRST FOR THE ODBD BLOG HOP!!!!!
This week's featured stamper over at Splitcoast is Dawn Lusk, an uber -talented and very sweet gal, who happens to be on the Dirty Dozen design team right now. Check out her awesome and creative work here. I was inspired by a tag Dawn made, using Flower Soft, so I thought I'd give Flower Soft another shot. Instead of using the oval frame, I chose the square Flower Soft frame but cut out the corner scrolls instead of using the whole frame. The layers of the card are Barely Banana and Basic Grey "Porcelain", punched with the EK Success Scalloped Scallop Border Punch. I used Peach and Green Flower Soft, Hero Arts Pearls, and Irridescent Gold Glimmer Mist.
NOTE: This week's Super Special Sale at Our Daily Bread Designs is all Shimmerz 25% off, until Friday night at midnight. Each Saturday a new sale begins....check out the ODBD store now!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a blessed day!!!

The Will of God - Inspiration Challenge and Sketch

Another sneak peek for the new releases from Our Daily Bread Designs, due out on July 1st. The sentiment is from "Grow in Grace". Check out the ODBD card gallery for some of the other Breadsticks' creations!
This card was made with three challenges in mind. Today's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast was to choose a photo from "The Charm School Dropout". I was inspired by this photo because of the vintage feel and I loved the plum colored flowers. Also, yesterday over at Christian Papercrafts Magazine, the Fun On Friday Challenge was to use butterflies on your project.....no problemo, I LOVE my Martha Stuart butterfly punch, especially "duded up" with pearls and Glimmer Mist! The third is a sketch challenge from CPS (Card Positioning Systems). I flipped the sketch on its side for this project. The frames and flower are from my new Spellbinders Decorative Frames set. A set of frames was cut from Very Vanilla and Basic Grey "Wisteria" paper, to alternate each layer. I used Perfect Plum and Always Artichoke to stencil the frames. The leaves are from some May Arts suede ribbon....I just cut two of the leaves from the roll. The sheer ivory ribbon is also from May Arts....I layered three pieces of it, just for somethin' different! After many layers of foam tape and a few pearls, I sprayed the entire project with "Glacier" Glimmer Mist. I'm addicted to the stuff!!! Who doesn't like a little sparkle?

Don't forget.....the Super Sunday Special at ODBD for 25% off Prism paper ends tonight at midnight! BTW, each week's special is listed on ODBD's homepage!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a blessed day!

"Dream Big" Tri-Fold Grizzly

Today's card was a fun one! Today's Limited Supply Challenge from Splitcoast is called "Chinese Take-Out", to choose one item from each menu given by Wendybell.....the three "menus" I chose are: non-floral nature, greens/browns color scheme, and ribbon plus brads. Um....I used ribbon sliding letters instead of stamping a sentiment....the challenge police may come and get me for that one! I used Wildlife Reserve and Wide Open Spaces for this card, plus a little grass stamp of unknown origin. This was very fun to make...I love scenery cards!!!

BTW, don't forget that Christian Papercrafts is now an open site, just like Splitcoast....all you have to do is sign in with your username. Please come on over and join in on the Bible discussions, daily devotions, friendly chit-chat, and don't forget the papercrafts!!! There are daily challenges, tips and tutorials, product discussions, and a wonderful gallery to cruise!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a blessed day!

Mother Teresa Sneak Peek

As I mentioned on yesterday's post, this may be one of my fave months yet as a designer for Our Daily Bread Designs......because of the incredible sets coming out on July 1st. I have always loved Mother Teresa and I think she was one of the most brilliant and wise human beings God ever created.....what a blessing she was to sooooo many people! Now I am the one blessed to be able to use her words on these stamps to bless others!
This set is simply called "Mother Teresa". Several of her loved quotes are featured in this set, along with the beautiful lotus flower. (Okay, I called it a water lily, Kelley!)
I stamped the quote and lotus directly on the Kraft card with Stazon Jet Black, colored with sponge daubers using masks, then colored the blossoms with a Sakura gel pen for that ceramic glazed look that I love so much! The border punch was EK Success' Dotted Scallop and the photo corner is also EK Success. It was a relief to make a one layer card.....sigh!!!

And I'm going to remind ya'all again to sign up for the e-newsletter again at ODBD, so just in case I don't post for a while, you will know what the Super Sunday Special is for the week. I can fill you in: All Prism Cardstocks are 25% off, while supplies last! This includes Prismatic Packs, Simply Smooths, and Metallics! Sale ends Saturday night, June 27, at midnight. Note: Sale prices will be reflected in your shopping cart.

One more thing: Check back on July 1st for another fun blog hop....with candy!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a blessed day!!!

Wow, another month has flown by!!! The good news is that Our Daily Bread Designs has some AWESOME new sets coming out on July 1st!!! This may be one of my fave months yet!!! I have used "Grow in Grace" for this card....sorry, no peeks at the sentiments....just yet! For once I wanted to keep it fairly simple....I may add a sentiment tag later. Anyhoo....this layout is from Splitcoast's sketch challenge today....it's not often that I get to play on the same day of a challenge, so Woo Hoo! Also, today over at Christian Papercrafts, the "New to You" Wednesday challenge is to use glitter on your project. Since glitter and I don't get along, I used Stickles instead!!

Ten Minute Thank You Card

We had a company cookout on Friday to celebrate Father's Day. Jon, our controller, and Daren, our sales rep organized the whole thing and stood in the hot sun grilling all of the food for us. So, to show my appreciation for the hard work that went into it, I made a couple of quick Thank You cards. The grill is from a $1.00 set from JoAnn's and the Thank You sentiment is from Stampin' Up, but I forgot to look up the name...oops! The photo does not show, but the sky was sponged with Ballet Blue, before sponging the clouds in Craft White. Oh, the card is Kraft cardstock.

Have you signed up for the ODBD newsletter yet? Signing up for the newsletter is the very best way to find out what the Super Sunday Special is each week, since I may not post anything here for days at times. But today, I can fill you in: All Prism Cardstocks are 25% off, while supplies last! This includes Prismatic Packs, Simply Smooths, and Metallics! Sale ends Saturday night, June 27, at midnight. Note: Sale prices will be reflected in your shopping cart.

Now, on to the Quadruple Challenge Card:

Today's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to choose a pair of shoes from Bugaloo as your inspiration......they are all so cute, but I chose the little green elephant since it reminded me of the elephant from the Stampendous "Baby Invite" clear set. The Ways To Use It challenge was to use texting on your project, so I used Alphabits for the background. The layout is from this week's sketch challenge over at Christian Papercrafts Magazine. Also, the "Fun on Friday" challenge at CPCM was to make a baby card with non-traditional pink or blue.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a blessed weekend!!!

Little Layers Anniversary Card

My friend, Robin, needed an anniversary card to give to his wife, who adores her fishes. He asked me to replicate a previous card from my gallery, but I modified it a bit to be a little more girlie....and mushy!
I started out with Stampin' Up "Little Layers" for the fish, used a reverse stamp to get the second fish, added extra stripes and colored with a gel pen and popped up on foam tape. The seaweed and shells are from SU "On The Beach". The sentiment is from Sugar Loaf See-D's clear stamps, called "Love, Love, Love". The background was sponged using scratch paper masks. If you click on the photo for a close-up, you can see the Pearl Glimmer Mist which was sprayed over the layers. Added Hero Arts heart-shaped pearls for the bubbles, paper piercing, and double ribbon to finish.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a blessed day!

Quiet Waters Sumtoy CASE

Well, we're back from vacation....already! Boy, time flies when you're.....not at work!!!

This week's featured stamper over at Splitcoast is Roseann aka sumtoy! Wow, it took a while to cruise her immense gallery! Sooooo many great cards....it was hard to make a decision, but I finally chose this card to case. I loved the layout and the center panel....unfortunately I miscalculated on the size of my image panel and it turned out much larger than Roseann's. My second error was to make a square card....it wasn't very balanced so I added blue pearls.
This card also fits Judy's Limited Supply Challenge from Friday, to use only colors of water or sand....blues, greens, and browns......perfect! Plus we were to use piercing, ribbon, and brads (I saw others cheat by using pearls instead of brads, so I jumped on board too!!!) Please don't crack my knuckles with a ruler, Judy!!! lol!!!

Now for the card details: This set is called "Quiet Waters", new this month from Our Daily Bread Designs. The image was stamped on watercolor paper with Stazon Jet Black, an extra tree stamped on the right side, and the rest of the scene I sketched in before watercoloring with an Aquapainter. After it was dry, I painted over the water with Pearl Glimmer Mist to give it a sparkle. The deer were highlighted with a Signo Gel Pen. The background dsp is Basic Grey Wisteria. Finished with Hero Arts blue pearls and ribbon from May Arts.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I will post some vacation photos later this week! Have a blessed day!

Ask, Seek, Knock Flowery Columns

There were too many fun challenges this week both on Splitcoast and Christian Papercrafts Magazine.....there were three that fit together for this project perfectly. First, Dawn's sketch challenge had me stumped for a few days, until Julia's Ways To Use It Challenge was to create something from stamps, die-cuts, etc other than what the items were originally intended for. I knew then that I had to make columns! And thirdly, Chrissy's New To You Wednesday Challenge over at CPCM was to try the grid technique...this was a real challenge, since I don't have a scor-pal or boning tool. (I use my Fiskars paper cutter and a Pampered Chef pan scraper to do my scoring!!!) Anyhoo....after scoring criss-cross lines across a 3" x 5" pc of Whisper White, I cut the three columns at 1 inch. I cut and embossed three times with the Labels 4 Spellbinder die, cut each in half long ways to make the top and bottom caps of each column, and sponged all of the pieces with Sahara Sand. The background scene was sponged with Sahara Sand, Old Olive, and Bashful Blue. The sentiment tag was also cut with Labels 4, stamped with one of the verses from "Ask, Seek, Knock", a new release from Our Daily Bread Designs. Finished everything off with Hero Arts pearls and Flower Soft.

Thanks for stopping by! We're leaving in a few wee hours for vacation, so see you next week!!! God Bless!

Marcelle Case and Blog Awards

Each Saturday, Christian Papercrafts Magazine features one talented and inspiring artist from their gallery. Last week's featured artist was my new and dear friend, Marcelle! If you haven't found a reason yet to subscribe to CPCM, then Marcelle is it! She writes the "Daily Bread" column and has a fantastic lesson every day! Marcelle is a true inspiration to me......she loves the Lord and wants to help others overcome their strong-holds so that they can walk closer with the Lord. And another thing, she is an AWESOME paper-crafter! Marcelle has such an elegant, beautiful style! I chose this gorgeous card to case. I changed the colors, paper, type of ribbon, etc. but tried to keep the design as close as possible. This "Serenity Prayer" is from Our Daily Bread Designs, along with the Basic Grey Porcelain dp, Basic Grey Opaline Pearls, Glacier Glimmer Mist, EK Success Scalloped Scallop border punch, Spellbinder nestabilities, and Spellbinder Floral Accents. The cardstock is SU Barely Banana and Elegant Eggplant. The velvet ric-rac is from May Arts.

Wanted to send a warm thank you to both Kim MacNutt and Grace Nywening for leaving blog awards for me. I will try to post them and pass them along before I go on vacation on Monday! You girls really are special and your awards mean a lot! Thanks again!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Don't forget to check out the daily challenges and Bible lessons and discussions over at Christian Papercrafts Magazine! God Bless!

White-washed Door Inspiration Challenge

I know! I'm using this set again!!! This is a birthday card for my brother-in-law, Mike, who is desperately waiting for a Youth Pastor position to open up for him. At the same time, he is looking for a better job, even during this economic crisis. I chose this verse, because it is very fitting for his situation. When we desire something for our life, we are not commanded to "Ask".....then "Wait"! It takes action on our part! What I admire about Mike is that he doesn't let fear or doubt hold him back.....he's not afraid of change in order to make things happen. How many of us stay in our comfort zone because we're too afraid of failure? God considers faithfulness as righteousness......if we step out in faith and BELIEVE that we will receive what we ask....it is ours!

Now for the card details. This set, "Ask, Seek, Knock" is one of the new releases this month from Our Daily Bread Designs. The Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast today is to choose a photo from the Design Dazzle website. I chose the Garden Gate Wall Decor because I LOVED the white-washed look on the wooden gate! This card was also made in tribute of two awesome stampers: Roxie aka Rox71 was featured stamper last Sunday, so I chose this card to CASE. Also, I am dedicating this to Karen aka imastampin, because this is the very first time I used distressing on a card!!! I teasingly call Karen "Wolverine" because she uses her fingernails to distress her edges! So, I jumped clean out of my comfort zone and allowed myself to be a little rough around the edges!!!

Card Details: The door image was stamped on Kraft with Stazon Jet Brown, then "painted" with Craft White ink with an aquapainter. After it dried, the verse was then stamped with Stazon. I used a piece of corrugated cardboard for one of the layers. The dp is retired SU, called Outlaw. The key charm is made by 7Gypsies.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a blessed weekend!!!

Quiet Waters Sketch Card

I am totally in love with the news sets from Our Daily Bread Designs! If you haven't yet, you have to check out the ODBD Card Gallery! Not only are there awesome creations by our design team, but from customers also!
This set is "Quiet Waters". I split the verse into two sections and used only a portion of the scene in order to participate in this week's Sketch Challenge over at Christian Papercrafts Magazine. I am also using CPCM's Monday Color Challenge of Kraft, Basic Black, and Baja Breeze. Since I don't have Baja Breeze, I used Basic Grey "Marrakech" instead. The punched border is from EK Success Fleur De Lis punch. Pretty simple....added paper piercing and brads to finish....no ribbon!
This card is for a friend and co-worker, Clarence....I hope he likes it!!!
Thanks again for stopping by! Have a blessed day!
