Case by Case!

This week's Case Artist Saturday challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts is for you to choose a card from Singing2Day's gallery to copy. I chose this beautiful card because I loved the Cuttlebugged background and basic layout of the card. The card I have made is a birthday card for my brother-in-law. I used the Our Daily Bread designs' set, "In God We Trust", and the "Inked Cuttlebug" technique using the Stars Embossing Folder. I have also used the Pile It On Challenge, called "Animal-rific"....check out the challenge and their fun site here.

This card I made for Splitcoast's Featured Artist from this past Sunday, Cathy aka Mutnik, who is my STAMPING HERO!! Kathy is not only a talented stamper, but a fantastic artist as well, who is clever, creative, witty, and sooooo much fun!!! She even draws her own comic strips for her cards sometimes!! There was noooooo way to pick just one card from Cathy's gallery, so I am basing this card on her ENTIRE gallery.....you want to see lots of creativity (and funny stuff too), check our her gallery! Anyhoo.....this is a birthday card for my nephew, Conner. Though I have never watched "Family Guy" and probably never will, he had asked for gifts with Stewey on them, so I made a card instead. I used a clip-art photo, traced the lighter parts and paper pieced each and every colored section......I wanted a very solid look, so I chose not to trace the whole thing and color it, but used colored card-stock for everything...this took quite a while. The sentiment stamp really says "With enough coffee, I could rule the world", but I replaced coffee with cake from another stamp. The background is the Cuttlebug Herringbone Embossing Folder.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Have a blessed week!!! (Stay tuned for another round of new releases by Our Daily Bread designs on the 1st!!)

Bible Verse Thursday - Resting In Him

This week's Bible Verse Thursday Challenge theme over at Christian Paper Crafts is "Resting In Him". Today life is so busy that we rarely take the time to rest at all, as He intended for us to do at least one day a week. Not only do we not rest properly, but we forget to run to His arms and "Rest in Him".....we try to do everything on our own and forget that He is there for us. So, this week's challenge is this: use your fave verse about "Resting in Him".....or use a theme of resting/relaxing and a verse of your choosing.
I have also used Jen's Color Monday Challenge of ocean colors, and Gloria's Sketch Tuesday Challenge, which was quite challenging, I have to say!! Yay, Gloria!! The verse is from a Our Daily Bread design's "Scripture Collection 4" and the stamped frames and corners are from "Irownworks Borders". The paper is Memory Box "Frond", sheer ribbon is by May Arts, Pearls are Basic Grey Opaline, and the shimmer is from lots of Pearl Glimmer Mist.

My second card today is for Our Daily Bread designs's "Shining the Light" challenge from last Saturday, to create something with spring or new life in mind. I'm a bit late, since there is a brand new challenge tomorrow, but better late than never!! I have also used Cindy's Fun on Friday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts, which is to use bling, butterlies, beads, or buttons on your project. Pearls plus MANY layers of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist qualify for that!! The violets and scripture are from the Our Daily Bread designs' set, "The Lord Has Risen", the designer papers are from Memory Box "Frond", the satin ribbon by May Arts, pearls by Zva , and the "grass" was made by lining up lines of Scor-tape and adding "Sage" Ultra-fine Flower Soft.

Thanks for stopping by today! Stay tuned tomorrow (Saturday) on the ODBD blog for a brand new challenge by our Challenge Team! And on the first is Release Day for MORE new ODBD stamps!!! Have a blessed weekend!!!

Noah's Ark Birthday

This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to choose an item from "Cutest Food".....you HAVE to check out this site......the food art is amazing!!! I chose "Rainbow Pancakes" for my inspiration for this birthday card for my one year old nephew, Cashian. I used the image from the Our Daily Bread designs' set, "Noah's Ark". (Click on the photo for a closer look.) The Technique Lover's Challenge is Childhood Memories; and the Ways To Use It Challenge is to make a birthday card.

Also, over at Christian Paper Crafts, for Case Artist Saturday....this week's featured artist is Jennipher aka Stamptician. Jennipher is such a sweet soul and we so enjoy hanging out with her over at CPC. Jennipher is also hostess for the Scrapbook Inspiration challenges over at Splitcoast. I chose this scrapbook page to case, even though I made a card instead.....I loved the layered layout and thought it would be perfect for the Noah's Ark water scene, which was created by sponging and two of the water layers were made with scalloped scissors.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Stay tuned tomorrow for Bible Verse Thursday!! God Bless!!

Bible Verse Thursday - Attitude of Gratitude

Hello! If you are looking for the Our Daily Bread designs' Blog Hop, please scroll down one post. You have until 8:00 EST on Thursday, March 18 to complete the hop. Good luck!!

Happy Thursday, everyone!!! First of all, thank you, thank you to everyone who helped to celebrate Our Daily Bread designs' 2nd Anniversary with us this week.....you are truly a blessing and make our efforts so worthwhile!!! Thanks to Kelley for being such a generous and loving boss, plus a very good friend!!! Thank you to Grace and Chris, our team coordinators who put in hours and hours to make sure things always run smoothly....thanks for answering a million questions each month!!! For all of you hoppers from yesterday, all those who participated in the challenges, and all of the blog candy winners.....stay tuned tomorrow for a recap of all the winners over at the ODBD blog. Congrats and thanks again!!!

Now that ODBD Anniversary week is coming to a close, it's time to get "back in the groove"....it's Bible Verse Thursday over at Christian Paper Crafts. This week's theme is "Gratitude". So many times it is easy to grumble and complain about the things we don't have or maybe about doors that have been closed to us, but it's important to have gratitude and be thankful for all that we DO have, be thankful for unanswered prayers, be thankful for those closed doors. Our God is sovereign...He is in control....He knows what is best for us, even if we can't understand. Make a list today of all of your blessings (even unanswered prayers), focus on all of the things you are grateful for, KNOW that God gives you what is best for you and He gives you every thing you need. Having gratitude always leads to a happy heart....if you are grateful for everything you have, then there is no time to think about what you THINK is missing!!

Today's Challenge: Use your favorite verse about being grateful or thankful. Make a tag, scrapbook page, altered item, tag...any project you like. We can't wait to see your work...it's very easy to load your projects to the CPC gallery!

For my card today, I have used two of ODBD's new anniversary releases, Scripture Collection 4 and Ironworks Borders, along with K & Co "Madeline" paper, May Arts satin ribbon tied with my Bow Easy, and Basic Grey Opaline Pearls. I have used Jen's Color Monday Challenge of green and brown, which is also the CAS challenge over at Splitcoast. The general layout is from the Splitcoast sketch this week, flipped on it's side. Julia's Ways to Use It challenge is to make a project for encouragement and send it to someone....I will be sending this to a good friend who is going through some tough times right now...hopefully this scripture will bring some peace to her. This week's Stamping Sisters in Christ Challenge is about peace.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Have a very blessed day!!

Our Daily Bread designs' 2nd Anniversary Special Releases and Blog Hop

Woo Hoo!!! The day is finally here!!! Today is Our Daily Bread designs' 2nd Anniversary! Thanks to all those who helped us to celebrate this week by playing in our special Anniversary challenges and for all of your wonderful comments and support! Congrats to all of the winners so far this week....after today's blog hop there will be a few more!! On Friday, March 19, on the ODBD blog, Grace will recap all of the winners for the hop, the challenges, and the blog candy given away as well.

Kelley started a wonderful tradition last year on ODBD's first anniversary by allowing the Design Team members to each choose their favorite verse and have a stamp made from it. Scripture Collections 1 & Scripture Collection 2 were born. This year Kelley has offered the same for anniversary number 2! Not only do we have two new scripture sets for you to fall in love with, Scripture Collections 3 & 4, but Kelley is also releasing two awesome border sets....perfect for verses and sentiments of any shape and size!!! Check them all out below!!!

This year I am blessed to say that I am a part of this wonderful Design Team and have chosen my favorite verse from the book of Mark. I have made two samples using my verse, from Scripture Collection 3, plus two stamps from the Vine Borders sets....two totally different looks! My first card is based on Mercy's Tuesday Sketch and Betty's Color Challenge from Splitcoast to use Razzleberry, Orchid, and Olive, plus swirls for dessert.....a perfect match for this designer paper from Prima, called "Raspberry Pastures". I have combined Spellbinders Labels 3, the cut-out frame from Vine Borders, and Oval Nestabilities. Finished with Zva pearls, May Arts Satin Ribbon (tied with a Bow-Easy), and lots of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist.

My second card was very simple to make. I stamped the border and verse directly on the designer paper from Memory Box, called "Spearmint". Added paper piercing, sponging, some Basic Grey Opaline Pearls, satin ribbon, and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist. This design was based on the CPS sketch this week.

And now......on to the BLOG HOP!!!!
If you have hopped here from Kathy's blog, you are right on target. ODBD 2nd Anniversary Challenges Continue

Today is the last day for you to participate in the Our Daily Bread designs' 2nd Anniversary Challenges, which were posted in advance on the ODBD blog in this post. Today's challenge is to use your favorite stamp set by Our Daily Bread designs. It was an extremely tough decision for me to choose, since there are so many that are dear to my heart. I eventually chose the lotus blossom from "Mother Teresa" and the quote by Mother Teresa is from the set, "Let Us Begin".

For the general design of my card, I have used Gloria's Sketch Tuesday Challenge from Christian Paper Crafts. The designer paper is SEI "Pink Lady Pearl". The lotus was colored with SEI chalk inks. The embossed border is a Cuttlebug flower border which was sponged with cocoa and Basic Grey Opaline Pearls were added for a little extra accent. The poly-twill ribbon is by May Arts (tied with my Bow Easy), and the entire card was sprayed multiple times with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist.

For the China Inspiration Challenge on Sunday, I was one of several on the Design Team with blog candy to offer. Out of all of the comments left on my post, the random winner is:

southernscraps! Congrats, Fonda!!

Please contact me at angelladcrockett@yahoo.com by Saturday, March 20 at midnight EST to claim your blog candy.

My blog candy consists of the card which was made for the China Challenge, plus some other goodies which include a hand-made cross made by my father-in-law, Basic Grey brads, and three types of May Arts ribbon.

Welcome to day 2 of Our Daily Bread Designs' 2nd Anniversary Celebrations! Hopefully you have checked out the challenge details which were posted in advance on the ODBD blog and SCS Member Forum, to give you extra time to play! Each challenge lasts only one day, so make sure you check out the "Heads Up" post HERE. Yesterday's challenge theme was "Cotton"......today's challenge is an inspiration challenge all about china ware, since china is the "Contemporary Gift" for 2nd Anniversaries. Choose one of the photos below or just the general theme of china as inspiration for your project. Link your project to Mr. Linky on the ODBD post HERE by 8:00 EST Monday. Please link the challenge in your post and new work only please....no previous work. The winner will receive a $20.00 Gift Certificate toward ODBD stamps!

My Card Details:

The Case Artist Saturday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts is to choose a project from Michelle Orr's gallery....congrats to Michelle for being featured this week!! I chose this gorgeous card because it looked like a picture hanging on a wall-papered wall....such a clever idea! I had been struggling with ideas for the ODBD China Anniversary Challenge....until I saw this awesome card......thanks so much, Michelle, for the inspiration!!!

I used some new paper from the Memory Box "Spearmint" line for my "wall-paper". Since I still had my package of paper doilies out from my Bible Verse Thursday card earlier this week, I colored one with a Copper Leafing Pen for the China Challenge. The center of the china platter was cut out with a circle Nestabilities die, the violets from "The Lord Has Risen" were stamped in Brilliant Blue, colored with Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, and Summer Sun, then the entire piece was clear embossed with Ranger Clear Embossing Powder for an enamel looking finish. The sentiment is from "Happy Easter".

To see the samples from the rest of the team, please visit the links listed below! There is HIDDEN BLOG CANDY on some of the blogs, but you must leave a comment to be eligible to win. Those with candy from the China Challenge will announce the winners on Tuesday's post. Just in case you miss that, on March 19th all of the winners from our Anniversary Celebrations will be mentioned on the ODBD blog! Each challenge will have a winner, the Blog Hop on the 17th will have more prizes, plus there is hidden Blog Candy for each challenge as well! Good luck!!

Cardinal Get Well

This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Vera! Not only does Vera have an amazing gallery, but she leaves the most wonderful comments for everyone and participates in the favorites thread each week. I chose this gorgeous card because I loved the layout and Kraft card base. A friend asked if I could make a get well card to give to her friend, so I have used the cardinal from the ODBD set, "Sing For Joy", and the get well sentiment from "Get Well", along with Basic Grey "Indian Summer" and Ranger Antique Linen for sponging.

Have you started working on your projects for the Our Daily Bread designs' 2nd Anniversary Celebrations Challenges? The challenge details have been listed here in advance on the ODBD blog.....each challenge lasts only ONE DAY, however, you can get started now. Here are the challenges:
Saturday only, 3/13: Cotton Challenge

Bible Verse Thursday - Pure Delight

Happy Thursday, everyone!! Time for Bible Verse Thursday over at Christian Paper Crafts! This week's theme is DELIGHT! I chose this one word since it is used in many great verses in the Bible.....the Lord delights in us, we delight in Him, we delight in His word, and so on. So choose your favorite verse using the word "delight" ....or design your project around something which brings delight into your heart, plus a verse of your choosing.

This week for Case Artist Saturday over at Christian Paper Crafts, Candace aka candylou, is the featured artist. Check out her awesome blog here. I chose to case this gorgeous card to case because of the CAS layout. I have also used Jen's Color Monday Challenge to use pink, white, and a touch of yellow. As I was creating this, I realized it also fits for Gloria's Sketch Tuesday Challenge! The Technique Lover's Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use vintage style. The Ways to Use It Challenge is to use something new (the dsp from Memory Box). Also, the Clean and Simple Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use layered shapes. And last but not least, the Moxie Fab Challenge is to use Doilies and Lace....too fun.....I hope paper doilies count!!

The verse is from a new set from Our Daily Bread designs, called "Easter Blessings". The designer paper is Memory Box "Gossamer" and the embroidered ribbon is by May Arts and was tied using my new best friend, the Bow Easy.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: If you haven't already heard, Our Daily Bread designs' 2nd Anniversary Celebration Challenges start on Saturday.....the challenge rules and details have already been posted on the ODBD blog.....each challenge lasts only one day.....head over to the blog now and get creating!!! You don't want to miss out on the extra chances to win, do you?

Thanks for stopping by today!!! Have a blessed day!!

Bible Verse Thursday - SonShine Challenge

Maybe it's the harsh winter and an overdose of snow, but I haven't been very patient waiting for spring to get here!!! Then yesterday, here in Indiana, it was 41 degrees and the sun was shining!!!! Yahoo...it seemed like a heat wave!!!

So.....for the Bible Verse Thursday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts, how about a little "Son-Shine" challenge? You have two choices: either use a verse about "The Son" plus any image or theme you would like....OR a scene or theme about sunshine plus any verse you choose.....how easy is that? I'm sure most of us here in the States are waiting to create some spring-y cards!!!

I have also used Gloria's Sketch Tuesday Challenge from CPC as well! The verse I chose is from a new set by Our Daily Bread designs, called "The Lord Has Risen". All three designer papers are from the Basic Grey "Sugar Rush" collection. The chipboard butterfly is a Framed Fonts Nature Butterfly, sprayed generously with Sunflower Glimmer Mist, then sponged with brown ink around the edges.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!! Don't forget to check in over at the ODBD blog on Sunday, March 7th for a head start on our anniversary challenges! Have a blessed week!!

Framed Violets

Hi everyone! Today I would like to share a quick and simple project I made featuring one of the new gorgeous floral sets by Our Daily Bread designs, called "The Lord Has Risen". The violet image and this verse are quickly rising to the top of my fave list for ODBD! I ran across this metal frame that I bought at Target several years ago and thought it would be perfect for this project, especially since it has a hint of amethyst. The verse and image were both stamped on watercolor paper with Stazon Jet Black. The violets were colored with markers; I stamped some extras to attach to the outside as an embellishment. Since there was no room for pearls under the glass, both the stamped piece and violet embellishment were sprayed multiple times with "Glacier" Glimmer Mist....unfortunately the glimmer is a little camera shy!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a blessed week!!!
