Hey, Chick!

Country Door Stylish Hen Pillow
Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge site over at Splitcoast is Country Door....I thought that this pillow was so cute and tried to recreate the look with the Stampin Up set, 'Hey, Chick', and some designer paper which I found at Goodwill many years ago.  The chicken image was stamped directly onto the designer paper, then fussy cut and popped up with foam tape over the black panel which was cut out with the Divinity Designs Pierced Squares Dies set.  The sentiment was stamped onto an ivory piece from the same designer paper pack, then cut out with the DD Treat Tags Dies set, using the Die Re-sizing Technique so that the die cut fit the sentiment size perfectly.  The striped panel was cut with the DD Pierced Rectangles Dies set; baker's twine was added as a simple embellishment.  I will save this in my birthday stash, either for one of my nieces or maybe my sister-in-law.

Hi, everyone! The summer months are flying by!  It's August 1st already and that means that there is another fabulous new release from Our Daily Bread designs!  You can see the entire new release, prize information, plus all of the amazing designer samples RIGHT HERE.

Here are the ODBD products featured in my two samples for today:

ODBD Great Care Stamp/Die Duos ODBD Custom Get Well Soon Dies

ODBD Custom Fancy Circles Dies ODBD Custom Circles Dies

ODBD Custom Bitty Butterflies Dies ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies

ODBD Easter Card Collection 2016 ODBD Pastel Paper Pack

My first card features the new ODBD Custom Get Well Soon Dies, ODBD Custom Bitty Butterflies Dies, and the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies.  The background panel was colored with yellow, green, and aqua inks using the Wrinkle Free Distress technique (swipe ink pads onto a craft sheet or washable surface, spray with water to blend, then blot up the ink with your paper.)  The same colors were used to sponge the butterflies.  Aqua gems and baker's twine were added as simple embellishments.

My second card features the 'Great Care' Stamp/Die Duos set, ODBD Custom Fancy Circles Dies, ODBD Custom Circles Dies, ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies, ODBD Easter Card Collection 2016, and the ODBD Pastel Paper Collection.  The scrubs image was stamped onto polka dot and pink designer paper then fussy cut and paper pieced together. The small rectangle panel was cut using the die-resizing technique to give me the exact width I needed for this design. The only embellishment added was pink baker's twine.

The Extra Mile

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from Audrie's 'Beautiful Baskets' Pinterest Board.  I absolutely LOVE the colors in this gorgeous basket!  The design of this card began with the fun and colorful alphabet designer paper from the Artistic Outpost 'Vagabond Treasures' Paper Collection, which led to plum cardstock and mustard ink for sponging. This new 'School Bus Driver' set by Our Daily Bread designs is so fun! The bus was stamped on yellow and again on white so that I could cut out and paper piece the sections together.  The sentiment was stamped on panels cut with the ODBD Custom Pennant Flags Dies (the top pennant was re-sized to fit the word perfectly).

Here are the new and previously released items used in my projects for today:

ODBD School Bus Driver ODBD Pennant Swag Alphabet

ODBD Sunday School Teacher ODBD Custom Crosses Dies

ODBD Custom Pennant Flags Dies ODBD Custom Bookmarks Dies

ODBD Custom Ornate Ovals Dies ODBD Custom Deco Border Dies

ODBD Custom Pierced Squares Dies ODBD Custom Squares Dies

Artistic Outpost Vagabond Treasures Paper Collection ODBD Americana Quilt Paper Collection

For my first card, I used the fun new 'School Bus Driver' set, but transformed the 'School Bus' into a 'Church Bus' by stamping individual letters with the 'Pennant Swag Alphabet' set.  After the letters were stamped, the rectangle was cut out then the edges were lined with a black marker.  The bus was stamped on red cardstock and again on white so that the various pieces could be cut out and paper-pieced together.  The stop sign was white embossed on white, then colored with a red marker, cut out and adhered. Red and yellow gemstones were added for the lights at the top.  The fun designer paper is from the ODBD Americana Quilt Paper Collection; the panels were cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Squares Dies and ODBD Custom Squares Dies.

Next up is a bookmark and card which was created with the new 'Sunday School Teacher' set and the coordinating ODBD Custom Crosses Dies.

I fell in love with this designer paper from the Artistic Outpost 'Vagabond Treasures' Paper Collection, so I based my color scheme around it.  The cross and sentiment from 'Sunday School Teacher' were heat embossed with espresso powder onto ivory cardstock.  The cross was cut out with the ODBD Custom 'Crosses' Dies; the sentiment panel was cut from the ODBD Custom 'Ornate Ovals Dies'; both were popped up with foam tape. Dark brown embroidery thread was braided for both the card and bookmark.  The ODBD Custom Deco Border Die was cut from ivory and sponged with rust and brown.

For the bookmark, the same piece of designer paper was used with the ODBD Custom Bookmarks Dies; the mat was trimmed by hand.  As with the card, the scripture and cross were heat embossed. Instead of using a brad for the center of this cross, I used a metallic cut out from a previous project so that the bookmark would be flat inside the Bible or whichever book the recipient chooses to read.

Saturday Stamping....my Fave!!

Happy Saturday, everyone!!!  Saturday morning is my most favorite time to stamp, since I don't have to go to work (yay!) and also because I LOVE to play along with the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast.  Today's challenge is to find an item from the Winter Water Factory store......I really like the crisp navy and white design of this adorable dress, so I created a birthday card with the "Fishing Net Background" and "The Waves on the Sea" stamps from Our Daily Bread designs.

Also this morning, I created a card using the pine branch from the "ODBD Fancy Foliage" die set as a tree.....I love using stamps and dies in ways which they were not originally intended!  I love getting the most out of every stamping tool I own!  Though I'm a bit late, this card is for the Featured Stamper Challenge from last Sunday.....Joyce aka ashjoy has a fabulous gallery and I fell in love with this super cute card.  The scripture verse I have used is from the "Pickles" set.  The designer papers I used are both from the Prima "Sunkiss" 6x6 pack.....I love the country feel to it!

Thanks for visiting with me today!

Have a very blessed weekend!!

Case by Case!

This week's Case Artist Saturday challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts is for you to choose a card from Singing2Day's gallery to copy. I chose this beautiful card because I loved the Cuttlebugged background and basic layout of the card. The card I have made is a birthday card for my brother-in-law. I used the Our Daily Bread designs' set, "In God We Trust", and the "Inked Cuttlebug" technique using the Stars Embossing Folder. I have also used the Pile It On Challenge, called "Animal-rific"....check out the challenge and their fun site here.

This card I made for Splitcoast's Featured Artist from this past Sunday, Cathy aka Mutnik, who is my STAMPING HERO!! Kathy is not only a talented stamper, but a fantastic artist as well, who is clever, creative, witty, and sooooo much fun!!! She even draws her own comic strips for her cards sometimes!! There was noooooo way to pick just one card from Cathy's gallery, so I am basing this card on her ENTIRE gallery.....you want to see lots of creativity (and funny stuff too), check our her gallery! Anyhoo.....this is a birthday card for my nephew, Conner. Though I have never watched "Family Guy" and probably never will, he had asked for gifts with Stewey on them, so I made a card instead. I used a clip-art photo, traced the lighter parts and paper pieced each and every colored section......I wanted a very solid look, so I chose not to trace the whole thing and color it, but used colored card-stock for everything...this took quite a while. The sentiment stamp really says "With enough coffee, I could rule the world", but I replaced coffee with cake from another stamp. The background is the Cuttlebug Herringbone Embossing Folder.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Have a blessed week!!! (Stay tuned for another round of new releases by Our Daily Bread designs on the 1st!!)

smARTworks Winter Gallery

Thanks again to Susan Trask of smARTworks, who was our very first sponsor a few months ago at Christian Paper Crafts. Our DT was supplied with the most awesome package full of designer paper, cardstock, punched flowers, charms, ribbon, items to alter, and several sets of stamps. Many awesome projects were posted then in the smARTworks gallery at CPC HERE, but we saved some holiday treats to post in December. Check out all of the smARTworks winter uploads HERE.
Though I'm absolutely not a scrapbooker and have only done a few pages EVER, I gave it a shot since there were so many awesome supplies in our smARTworks package to do so. I know, I know....it's not a winter spread, but it comes from the heart.....every winter I dream about spring to keep away the winter time blues! Everything you see here was provided by smARTworks, except for the fence punch, scalloped circle punch, and Sizzix letters for the title. (How do you like the trees I made with a zebra background stamp?!)

This quick and easy card was also made using these smARTworks materials: watercolor note card and matching envelope, pink satin ribbon, pink gemstones, sentiment from the "God Bless" set, and the wreath was stamped with a tiny branch stamp (name unknown).

Thanks for stopping by today!! Stay tuned tomorrow for another Bible Verse Thursday Challenge! God Bless!
