Divinity Designs LLC - December Birthday Flower of the Month

Hi, everyone!  It's time to share the 12th Birthday Flower of the Month set from Divinity Designs LLC....this past year went fast!  This month's flower is the Narcissus. To find out more about the Birthday Flower of the Month sets, please click HERE.

Instead of making just a card with the December flower, I jumped in with both feet and created a 12x12 scrapbook layout using all twelve flowers!  Each of the flowers and sentiments were stamped on white vellum; the images were colored with markers on the reverse side, then attached to white cardstock using adhesive sheets, then cut out with the coordinating dies.  The header was created using Slimline Rectangles and Slimline Pierced Rectangles; each piece was "resized" in order to fit the letters perfectly.  The letters were cut with the Alphabet Caps Dies.  All of the pieces were popped up with Foam Mounting Tape.

Grand Cayman Turtle Farm

Hi,everyone!  When the new 'Turtle Love' Stamp/Die Duo set was released by Our Daily Bread designs, I had to dig out the photos from our first cruise vacation from 2003 and create a scrapbook layout.  One of our ports of call was Grand Cayman, where we visited a sea turtle farm and I got to hold one!!!  By the way, fifteen years ago, fanny packs were still in style! LOL!!  I had to go with an 8 x 8 layout to fit everything in.  The designer paper I wanted to use from the 'By The Shore' Paper Collection is only 6 x 6, so I cut two corner pieces to make a frame.  The turtles were stamped in Stazon Jet Black, cut out with the custom dies, then watercolored to coordinate with the photos and designer paper.  The following ODBD Custom dies were also used: Alphabet, Numbers, Stitched Ovals, and Double Stitched Rectangles. Our Daily Bread designs February New Release!!

Hi, everyone!  Welcome to the February New Release party for Our Daily Bread designs!!  I myself make over 100 birthday cards a year, so I am super excited with the birthday theme this month.....check out all of the awesome new stamps, cutting dies (including gift cards and boxes!), and gorgeous design team projects HERE!

Here are the products used in my three samples for today:

For my first card, I began by cutting the white panel and designer paper (Birthday Brights Paper Collection) with the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies. The sentiment stamp from 'Celebrating You' was stamped multiple times while inking and 'stamping off' to get the variance in color. The ODBD Custom Leafy Edged Borders Dies set was used to cut the curved border.  The ODBD Custom Birthday Balloons Dies were cut in coordinating colors and tiny stars cut from the ODBD Custom Sparkling Stars Dies set were added as accents.

My next project is a 6 x 6 scrapbook layout using a photo from my niece's first birthday party.  My brother actually made the cupcake shaped cake for her and I knew that I would scrap this photo.....this months sets were a perfect opportunity!!  The cupcake and sentiment are from the 'All God's Blessings' Stamp/Die Duo. A single candle from the ODBD Custom Birthday Candles Dies set was cut and tucked into the cupcake after making a tiny cut with a craft knife.  Here are the additional products used: Old Glory Paper Collection, ODBD Custom Birthday Balloons Dies, ODBD Custom Alphabet Dies, ODBD Custom Large Numbers Dies, ODBD Custom Double Stitched Pennant Flags Dies, ODBD Custom Pennant Flags Dies, ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, ODBD Custom Stitched Ovals Dies, ODBD Custom Double Stitched Ovals Dies.

My third project for today is a quick card which features the 'Today and Everyday' set, ODBD Custom Birthday Candles Dies, ODBD Custom Large Numbers Dies, ODBD Custom Pierced Squares Dies, ODBD Custom Sparkling Stars Dies, and the Birthday Brights Paper Collection.

Cruisin' - Enjoy Every Moment!

Hi, everyone!  Today's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from any card playing idioms.....when I looked at the list, I saw 'Show Your Hand' and I knew what I wanted to do!  I love this photo of my hubby (who is 'showing his hand') from our recent cruise with our favorite bartender, Michael, in the background.  He made the best Bahama Mama's and Pina Coladas.....yeah, we're party animals alright! :)  I have used a mixture of new and previously released goodies from Our Daily Bread designs for this 6x6 layout:  sentiment and bird of paradise from 'Aloha', the ODBD Custom Bird of Paradise Die, ODBD Custom Ferns Dies, ODBD Custom Tropical Leaves Dies, ODBD Custom Pennant Flags Dies, ODBD Custom Bitty Borders Dies, Pennant Swag Alphabet, ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, and the ODBD Boho Bolds Paper Collection.

I Love Coffee!

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from a scrapbook projects Pinterest board.....I fell in love with this cool page because of the repeated (stamped?) background, pennant flags, and fun layout with the die cut words.  I chose a photo of me from last month on our 25th anniversary cruise....I was enjoying my cuppa joe while relaxing on a bench in Central Park on the ship.  I started by stamping the sentiment from 'I Love Coffee' many times onto a tan piece of designer paper from the ODBD Ephemera Essentials Paper Collection (The polka dot paper is also from this collection).  The stamping alone was a bit plain as is, so I created a reverse mask and sponged red into each heart.  Here is a list of the other dies used in my 6x6 scrapbook page: ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, ODBD Custom Double Stitched Pennant Flags Dies, ODBD Custom Mini Stitched Hearts, ODBD Custom Alphabet Dies, ODBD Custom 'Faith, Hope, and Love' Dies (unfortunately are now retired). Below are the new and previously released items from Our Daily Bread designs which are featured in my card and scrapbook layout today:

I know that one of the themes this month is coffee, but the moment I saw the ODBD Custom Beverage Cup Dies, I knew I HAD to make a chocolate chip cookie card!! (***Pssst...this is one of the most versatile ODBD die sets EVER!!!)  The cookies were cut from caramel cardstock using the ODBD Custom Circles Dies, sponged on the edges, then many chocolate chips were die cut and adhered.  The "bite mark" was cut with one edge of the scalloped heart in the ODBD Custom Ornate Hearts Dies set.  The sentiment panel, stamped with a sentiment from 'Rise and Shine' was cut out with the ODBD Custom Stitched Ovals Dies set; the caramel mat and plaid design (from the ODBD Ephemera Essentials Paper Collection) were cut with the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies set.  I created a five-layer button by cutting out five circles with the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Circles Dies set, glued the layers together, used a heavy duty hole punch, then coated the top with Glossy Accents.  If you'd like to see a tutorial to make your own buttons, click HERE.

My second project is a 6x6 scrapbook layout.  My hubby and I LOVE to cruise and this is a photo he took of me as I was enjoying a cuppa joe the morning that we came to port in Labadee, Haiti earlier this year. (Sorry about the poor photo quality but I was in the shade of our balcony.)  I chose a fun pattern from the ODBD Nautical Paper Collection for the background, then pulled the red and tan from the pattern for the framing which was cut with the ODBD Custom Ovals, ODBD Custom Pierced Ovals and ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies.  The banner letters were stamped with the 'Pennant Alphabet' set, trimmed by hand, sponged, then layered over the pennant cut with the ODBD Custom Pennant Row Dies.  The awesome sentiment is from the 'Rise and Shine' set.

Looking Back at the ODBD August Mid-Month New Release

Here are all of the products from Our Daily Bread designs used in my two samples for today:

My first project is a 6x6 scrapbook page which was built around this awesome photo from my mom and step-dad's vacation to the Alabama shore.  When I first saw the new 'By the Sea' stamp set with the cool pelican, I immediately thought of this photo!  The background scene is a piece of designer paper from the ODBD By The Shore Paper Collection; the edges were distressed, torn, and inked, then pieces of a recycled onion bag were tucked between the layers and under the photo panel.  The photo and sentiment panel were both cut with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies set; the letters were cut with the ODBD Custom Alphabet Dies and numbers cut with the ODBD Custom Numbers Dies.

My second project is an A2 card which features the 'Thanks a Melon' set, coordinating ODBD Custom Watermelon Dies, ODBD Custom Fence Die, ODBD Custom Clouds and Raindrops Dies, ODBD Custom Grass Lawn Die (available Sept.1), ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, and the ODBD Boho Bolds Paper Collection.  The watermelons were stamped, cut out with the custom dies, colored with markers, layered over the die cut grass and fence.  The sky was sponged over a template cut from the ODBD Custom Clouds and Raindrops Dies, then two clouds were popped up with foam tape for added dimension.
