Summer Veggies

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from the Clocks Inspiration Pinterest Board.  When I saw this fun clock, I didn't have to look any further. (Photo is below.) I picked up the 'Farmer's Market' stamp set from Altenew a year ago during the Black Friday sales but had not inked it up....until now.  Each stamp was placed in my Misti, one at a time, and inked several times until I was happy with the colors.  I created four cards just as easy as one, since I used the Misti!!  Two were white and two were on craft cardstock. I diluted some blackberry ink and used a paintbrush to add splatters over each card. I am happy that these will mail easily since they do not need any bumpy embellishments.

Recycled Wall Calendar

Hi, everyone!  This week's Technique Lovers Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use something recycled....another chance to use one of the pages from last year's wall calendar.  I created this get well card with a beautiful sunset calendar page and the following dies from Divinity Designs LLC: Slimline Pierced Rectangles, Slimline Scalloped Rectangles, Slimline Card Base, and Thinking of You and Layers.

Your Strength is an Inspiration

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Amy aka Shirleysgirl....congrats, Amy!!  This super cute card inspired me to ink up this awesome wave from the 'Waves of Inspiration' set from Stampin Up.  The wave stamp was put into the Misti and several different inks were used to color the wave, starting with the lighter colors and adding the darker colors here and there. The panel was cut out with a Double Stitched Rectangles Die from Divinity Designs; matching baker's twine was the only embellishment so it would be fairly flat to mail.

Tropical Sunset

Hi, everyone!  Right now it's a whole 3 degrees outside, so I'm going tropical!  This week's Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from the Puzzle Warehouse.....this gorgeous tropical scene reminded me of last year's wall calendar which I disassembled for re-purposing into cards. In order to capture the full scene, I had to make it slimline sized. The dies I used are from Divinity Designs LLC: Slimline Pierced Rectangles, Slimline Card Base, and Sentiment Strips.  The sentiment is from MFT.

Thankful and Grateful

Hi, everyone!  This week's Mix-ability Challenge over at Splitcoast is to incorporate metallics in your mixed media project.  For my card, I began creating the background with the Wrinkle Free Distress (or Smoosh) technique....dab several colors of ink pads onto a craft sheet, spritz with water, then 'dip' your cardstock into the puddle to soak in the colors.  Once dry, the panel was gold embossed with the Leaves Background by Divinity Designs LLC.  The sentiment panel was cut from the original WFD piece.  The sentiment from 'Bountiful Blessings' was gold embossed. The dies used for this card are also from Divinity Designs: Vintage Labels 2, Pierced Vintage Labels 2, Pierced Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, and A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer.  Blackberry Bliss ribbon, gold cording, and gold foil cardstock were also used to coordinate with the gold embossing powder and ink colors.

Be Fierce!

Hi, everyone!  This week's Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoast reminded me of a lion, so I dug out this 3D stamp which I bought from Gray Wolf Stamps at a stamp show many years ago. (I think they are out of business now, unfortunately.)  The lion was stamped four times and the layers were fussy cut and popped up with Foam Mounting Tape after being colored with markers. I didn't have a sentiment to match, so I cut out the individual letters and made my own sentiment.  This is for my teenage nephew who is into martial arts....this is very fitting for him. The dies used for this card are from Divinity Designs LLC: Oval Stitched Rows, Ovals, Pennant Flags, Double Stitched Pennant Flags, Double Stitched Rectangles, Pierced Rectangles, and Letter board. Black metal brads were added to the corners and a clear glaze pen was used on the eyes.

Happy Beer Day!

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Heather aka Gadabout.....congrats, Heather!  This super cute guy card inspired me to use some MFT products I picked up months ago, 'Frosty Beer Mug' Die-namics, 'Here's to You' stamps, and 'Small Brick Wall' Stencil.  The beer mug was cut twice from vellum and embossed with a stylus; the insert piece is also vellum, sponged with mustard ink to look like beer.  The foam on top was cut out of shimmery white.  The background was stenciled and the 'countertop' is a piece of dsp from the Divinity Designs LLC 'Weathered Wood' Paper Pad.  These items are also from Divinity Designs LLC: Blending Brushes, Foam Mounting Tape, Dies: Large Banners, Pierced Frame, A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer.  The brick panel was placed in my Misti, both to line up the sentiment and to get a solid inked image by stamping multiple times with navy ink.

Oceans of Happiness

Hi, everyone!  This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use purple, aqua, and green.  I did not choose the 'sparkle' dessert option since this card is for my nephew.  The designer paper is from the 'Beautiful Beaches' Slimline Paper Pad; also from Divinity Designs is the Pierced Rectangle Die, the Matting Rectangle Die, and the A2 Portrait Card Base and Layer Dies.  The seahorse and greenery were cut from the Sea Life Dies by Stampin Up.  The sentiment is from the Seas The Day set, also by Stampin Up.

You're A Great Catch!

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from Paper Hearts Designs.....I chose this awesome color palette to help me create this bluegill card for my hubby's birthday.  Since I water-colored the fish, the colors aren't as bright as in the photo.  I picked up the bluegill stamp many years ago at a stamp show, from Gray Wolf Graphics (I think this company does not exist anymore.)    They also sold the fish eyeball stickers at the same booth.  I looked for some designer paper to match the dark blue cube in the palette and found an old Basic Grey paper pad with some manly designs.  The remaining items used are from Divinity Designs LLC: Weathered Wood Collection Paper Pad, sentiment from 'Great Catch' Stamp/Die Duos set, Foam Mounting Tape, and the following dies: Vintage Labels 2, Pierced Vintage Labels 2, Pierced Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, Treat Tags, and A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer.
