Da Brains Go In Here

Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Michelle aka mcstamperNE....congrats, Michelle! I absolutely loved the triple window slimline design of this awesome card....so fun!  I stuck with green and purple but used different shades and flipped the slimline to landscape instead of portrait.  My card is for one of my sisters, who loves horror movies. The images from 'Zombie Boy' by Whimsy Stamps were stamped onto watercolor paper with Stazon Jet Black, then water-colored with an aquabrush. A clear glaze pen was used on the jar, tongue, and eyeballs.  The following dies from Divinity Designs LLC were used for the card base and framing: Slimline Rounded Window, Sentiment Strips 2, and Slimline Card Base.

Life is Beautiful

Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Giovana aka giogio....congrats, Giovana!! I chose this beautiful card to case today for my neice's birthday. The designer paper I chose is from Stampin Up and the stamps are from Altenew. The flowers were stamped with Stazon Jet Black onto watercolor paper, water-colored with an aquabrush, fussy cut, then popped up with foam tape. I also used the following dies from Divinity Designs LLC: Pierced Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer. Baker's twine and faceted gems were added for finishing touches.

Heaven and Nature Sing

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Loretta aka lorettagrace.  I chose this beautiful card from her gallery to recreate. For my card, I used some new goodies from Divinity Designs LLC: Chickadee Calendar stamp set, Petite Plaids Slimline Paper Pad.  Additional items used: Flourishes Embossing Folder, Pierced Rectangles Dies, Matting Rectangle, Sentiment Strips 2, and A2 Landscape Card Base with Layer.  The chickadee was stamped with Stazon Jet Black onto watercolor paper; the beak, feet, eyes, and red berries were colored with markers and sealed with a glaze pen before water-coloring the rest of the image.  Red glitter dots were used to coordinate with the image.

Be Amazing - 3D Lion

Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Brian aka ZPaw.....congrats, Brian!! I chose this awesome lion card from Brian's gallery to case today.  The image from Gray Wolf Graphics and the word dies from Top Dog Dies are unfortunately unavailable to buy these days since both companies are out of business. The lion image was stamped multiple times, fussy cut, and layered to create a 3D look.  A clear glaze pen coated the eyes to make them look realistic.  For the card base, a Cajun Craze Ink pad was swiped across creating a Faux Wood look. A small hole punch was used to create the faux brads.  The image was framed with the following dies from Divinity Designs LLC: Oval Stitched Rows and Ovals.

Faux Wood Masculine Birthday Card

Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splicoast is Kathy aka Muscrat....congrats, Kathy! Her gallery is HUGE (nearly 3100 cards!) and it was tough to decide which card to case. I went to the earliest uploads in her gallery and fell in love with this masculine card. For my card, I kept the blue/gray combo but added some kraft ink and used different stamps. The stamps are from 'Living Water' by Divinity Designs LLC; dies used: Double Stitched Rectangles and Double Stitched Circles. The wood-grain layer was created with the Faux Wood Technique, by swiping gray and kraft ink pads onto gray cardstock.  Navy Baker's Twine was added instead of ribbon.

A Year Full of Adventures

Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Caterina aka caterinafmig......congrats, Caterina! When I saw this awesome card in her gallery, my first thought was to create something tropical, however, when I looked at the calendar pages in my stash, I chose this camping scene with all of the orange tones and the sun. This was perfect to create a birthday card for my nephew who loves the outdoors! Using the recycled calendar pages makes card-making so quick and easy...I love it!! The scene was cut out with a Pierced Rectangle Die then placed in my MISTI in order to stamp the sentiment which is from 'Happy Trails'. (Since the paper is a bit slick, the MISTI lets you stamp multiple times to get good ink coverage.) Other dies used were the Matting Rectangle and A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer. Some linen thread was added for a simple embellishment.

Clean and Simple Masculine Card

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Susan aka MDO Susan. I chose this beautiful card from her gallery but changed it into a one layer masculine design.  The set I chose is Nature's Prints from Stampin Up. I used the MISTI since I colored each stamp with a marker; using the MISTI ensures the ink coverage that you want.  A mask was used in order to stamp the second foliage stamp.  As a finishing touch, the outside edge of the card base was sponged.

Warm and Beachy

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Erin aka erinbh....congrats, Erin!  I chose this awesome palm tree card to case today.  I had a scrap piece of SU designer paper just large enough to use a rectangle die to cut the edges.  I used the MISTI to line up the stamps from 'Paradise Palms' so that I could stamp onto the card base multiple times and onto the designer paper multiple times in order to get full coverage.  The palm tree stamps were inked with markers so it took a couple of rounds to get the colors I wanted.  I didn't pop up the layer so that it would be flat for mailing.

Sponges and markers were used for the coloring and shading.

Hoppy Birthday x 2

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Marlease aka Lease.....congrats, Marlease!!  I loved this pair of guy cards she created with a whiskey set....I didn't have any whiskey stamps, so I created two cards with the 'Here's To You' stamp set and 'Frosty Beer Mug' Die-namics from MFT.  The first card is fairly simple and flat for mailing.  The kraft card base was stenciled with the Small Brick Wall Stencil, plus the edges of the card were sponged.  The beer mug was cut from white vellum, the beer insert was copper metallic and the foam was cut from Shimmery White.  The pieces of the beer mug were turned into stickers with my Xyron Sticker Maker.  The sentiment was placed in my MISTI and stamped several times to make sure the ink coverage was complete.

The 2nd card will not be mailed, so I used the mug die to cut a foam sheet then adhered the layers to it. Instead of stenciling the whole card, a small piece of ivory cardstock was stenciled, cut out with the Pierced Rectangles Dies from Divinity Designs LLC, and the beer is sitting on a small navy blue panel cut with the Sentiment Strips Dies.  The edges of the card were sponged to give some extra dimension. The MISTI was used with navy ink for stamping the sentiment.

On Eagle's Wings

Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Pam MacKay.....congrats, Pam!!! I chose this awesome card from Pam's gallery.  For my card, I combined two stamp sets from Divinity Designs LLC: On Eagles' Wings and Keep Climbing. The mountain stamp was put in my MISTI, each section was colored with markers before stamping; it took a couple tries to get the inks dark enough.  The eagle was stamped in Stazon Jet Black, colored with sponges and markers, fussy cut, then popped up with Foam Mounting Tape.  The clouds were created with a Blending Brush and a die cut cloud, cut with the Clouds and Raindrops Dies.  The dies used for this card are: Pierced Rectangles Dies, Matting Rectangle, and A2 Landscape Card Base with Layer.

Let Your Light Shine

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Janine aka Jay_Bee....congrats, Janine!!  I chose this awesome lantern card to case today.  Instead of creating the lantern by hand, I used the Shining Light Lantern Die Set, a scripture stamp from the 'My Light' set, and a sunset pattern from the Landscapes Paper Pad.  For the inside of the lantern, instead of die-cutting and layering the flames, I created stencils with the dies and sponged the colors so that the scripture verse could be stamped onto the panel.  The panel was temporarily adhered to the designer paper and the light rays were sponged over scratch paper to match the sun rays in the background.  The designer paper panel was cut with the Pierced Rectangles Dies, matted with the Matting Rectangle, black brads added to the corners, then adhered to the card which was cut with the A2 Portrait Card Base and Layer Dies. Normally I would have used Foam Mounting Tape to pop up the lantern but I wanted it to be flat for mailing.

Field of Flowers

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Kathy aka laurasbuffy....congrats, Kathy!  I loved the blended background colors of this beautiful card from Kathy's awesome gallery.  For my card, I used a watercolor wash technique with a wide brush.  After the panel was dry, it was stamped with 'Botanical Beauty' background stamp from Taylored Expressions and a sentiment from 'Large Peony 4' by The Ton, then cut out with a Double Stitched Rectangles Die from Divinity Designs LLC.  Lavender baker's twine and rhinestones were added for finishing touches.

Your Strength is an Inspiration

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Amy aka Shirleysgirl....congrats, Amy!!  This super cute card inspired me to ink up this awesome wave from the 'Waves of Inspiration' set from Stampin Up.  The wave stamp was put into the Misti and several different inks were used to color the wave, starting with the lighter colors and adding the darker colors here and there. The panel was cut out with a Double Stitched Rectangles Die from Divinity Designs; matching baker's twine was the only embellishment so it would be fairly flat to mail.

Happy Beer Day!

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Heather aka Gadabout.....congrats, Heather!  This super cute guy card inspired me to use some MFT products I picked up months ago, 'Frosty Beer Mug' Die-namics, 'Here's to You' stamps, and 'Small Brick Wall' Stencil.  The beer mug was cut twice from vellum and embossed with a stylus; the insert piece is also vellum, sponged with mustard ink to look like beer.  The foam on top was cut out of shimmery white.  The background was stenciled and the 'countertop' is a piece of dsp from the Divinity Designs LLC 'Weathered Wood' Paper Pad.  These items are also from Divinity Designs LLC: Blending Brushes, Foam Mounting Tape, Dies: Large Banners, Pierced Frame, A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer.  The brick panel was placed in my Misti, both to line up the sentiment and to get a solid inked image by stamping multiple times with navy ink.

Dino-mite!

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Gerry aka vegasgem....congrsats, Gerry!  I chose this fun dino birthday card to case today....I loved the fun colors and the three cute dinosaurs.  For my card, I went with similar colors but changed the layout so that I could use this cute set from Divinity Designs LLC, Dinosaurs Stamp/Die Duos.  The paper is from the Birthday Brights Paper Pad and here are the dies used: Pierced Frames, A2 Thin Pierced Frame, and the A2 Landscape Card Base with Layer.  The dinos were colored with markers and popped up with Foam Mounting Tape.

Happy Birthday, Niece!

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Ona aka wombat146.....congrats, Ona!! Wow, what an amazing gallery!!  I was drawn to this gorgeous digital masterpiece....the colors were absolutely stunning!!  For my card, I chose a colorful pattern from the  Watercolor Paper Pad by Divinity Designs LLC and paired it with an orchid shade of foiled cardstock (since the edges of her flower looks purple).  I used the Thinking of You and Layers Dies; first the 'shadow' die was used to cut the opening in the designer paper, then the word dies were cut from those cut-outs so that when I adhered the words, they would blend with the flower image.  Other dies used: Pierced Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer, Treat Tags Dies, Mini Tags Dies, the 'To My Favorite' stamp set, and Pixie Gems.

Happy 30th Anniversary!

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Karen aka ksenzak1....congrats, Karen!!  I chose this adorable cas card for inspiration today.  Tomorrow is Anniversary number 30 for hubby and I, so I created this card for him using the 'Wish You Were Hare' set by My Favorite Things.  He knows how busy I am since I work full time plus design for Divinity Designs, so he doesn't want me to spend a lot of time on cards for him. This set was perfect for a one layer card.  The image was stamped with Stazon Jet Black; the ears and nose were colored with a pink marker; a clear glaze pen coated the pink plus any of the spaces I wanted to stay white; lastly, the scene and image were colored with blending brushes and sponges using masking, reverse masking, and stenciling.  Cutting several masks took a little while, but I love how it turned out.  Since I don't have Copics, this is my fave way to color to achieve a smooth look.  I used a journaling pen to add the 30 to the heart.  The colors I used in my card are from the MFT Color Challenge, so I will be submitting to this as well.

Birthday Bouquet for Mom

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Wendy aka Mingo.....congrats, Wendy!! I was inspired by this beautiful floral card, with the lavender color and leaves stamped under the popped up flowers.  For my card, I chose lavender for the card base, stamped the image in Versamark onto the card base.  The stamps and dies are from the 'Blessings of Home' bundle, from Stampin Up.  The image and sentiment were stamped onto watercolor paper with Stazon Jet Black; the image was water-colored and the sentiment was cut out with the Sentiment Strips 2 Dies from Divinity Designs LLC.

Rustic Wooded Birthday x 3

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Gayle aka fostergaylej....congrats, Gayle!!  This awesome scenic card reminded me of the 'Reflections' set by The Greetery which I picked up during the Black Friday sales last fall but had not used yet.  Using the MISTI, I duplicated this scene on three different background panels.  I used a piece of scratch paper to make sure each layer stamp was lined up correctly, then inserted each of the good panels and made three cards easily by doing this!! One scene was stamped on a wood-grain pattern from the 'Weathered Wood' Paper Collection by Divinity Designs LLC, one scene was stamped onto white cardstock (overstamped with the Wood Background Stamp by Divinity Designs LLC), and one was stamped onto kraft cardstock (overstamped with the Wood Background as well).  The panels were cut out with the Pierced Rectangles, matted with the Matting Rectangle and adhered to cards cut with the A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer Dies (all dies from Divinity Designs LLC.)
