Divinity Designs LLC - December Birthday Flower of the Month

Hi, everyone!  It's time to share the 12th Birthday Flower of the Month set from Divinity Designs LLC....this past year went fast!  This month's flower is the Narcissus. To find out more about the Birthday Flower of the Month sets, please click HERE.

Instead of making just a card with the December flower, I jumped in with both feet and created a 12x12 scrapbook layout using all twelve flowers!  Each of the flowers and sentiments were stamped on white vellum; the images were colored with markers on the reverse side, then attached to white cardstock using adhesive sheets, then cut out with the coordinating dies.  The header was created using Slimline Rectangles and Slimline Pierced Rectangles; each piece was "resized" in order to fit the letters perfectly.  The letters were cut with the Alphabet Caps Dies.  All of the pieces were popped up with Foam Mounting Tape.

Along with the new stamps and dies above, here are the other items featured in my post today:

My first project is a 12x12 scrapbook layout features the ODBD Custom Sunburst Background Die, sponged with yellow and layered with the sun image from 'Hello Sunshine' and clouds cut with the ODBD Custom 'Clouds and Raindrops' Dies. The quote from 'Sunshine Blessings' was stamped in brown, then cut apart, sponged with yellow, and popped up with foam tape. The little letters from 'Pennant Swag Alphabet' were stamped in brown, cut out, sponged in yellow, then layered onto the ODBD Custom 'Pennant Swag' Die at the top and adhered to the back of the photo at the bottom. The cloud background was sponged in blue over one of the cloud die cuts. The butterflies from 'Butterfly and Bugs' were stamped in brown, cut out with the ODBD Custom 'Butterfly and Bugs' Dies, then colored with yellow and orange. The edges of the main panel plus the photo panel were paper pierced to coordinate with the piercing from the Sunburst Background die. The photo shows my niece, Madilyn, leading her alpaca, Brody. Most of my nieces and nephews will be showing either alpacas or llamas for 4H this year.

My second project features the 'Father's Day Tools' single, ODBD Custom 'Workshop Tools' Dies, ODBD Custom 'Tool Time' Dies, and 'Wood Background' stamp. This card was super fun to make, although the fussy cutting the image (and applying foam tape) took four hours total, over the span of several days. The card itself was super easy....it began as an A2 card, then the corners were cut and an oval die was used for the cut out. The card base and front panel were stamped with the ODBD 'Wood Background' stamp, then the edges were sponged for a bit more dimension. The little screws are eyelets which I bought in my first couple months of stamping (15 years ago or so)....I didn't even know what eyelets were, but I loved that they were little screw heads, so I bought them!!! lol!!! The tools were cut from the ODBD Custom 'Workshop Tools' dies and the ODBD Custom 'Tool Time' Dies, then tucked into the pocket which was raised with foam tape.

For my sample today, I chose to create a 12x12 scrapbook page in tribute of my Kitty, who passed away a couple of months ago......she was 20 years old.....it sure was tough getting used to her not being here after all that time! When the new pet sympathy sets were revealed to the team, I knew that I had to make a page for Kitty! (Sorry for the dark photos......this was the best I could do without a glare on the Kitty photos!)

Here is a closer view without the outside edges. I'm so excited that I was able to use many stamp sets for my page embellishments.....not one store-bought embellie here....all are stamped!! (I love a good challenge!)

smARTworks Winter Gallery

Thanks again to Susan Trask of smARTworks, who was our very first sponsor a few months ago at Christian Paper Crafts. Our DT was supplied with the most awesome package full of designer paper, cardstock, punched flowers, charms, ribbon, items to alter, and several sets of stamps. Many awesome projects were posted then in the smARTworks gallery at CPC HERE, but we saved some holiday treats to post in December. Check out all of the smARTworks winter uploads HERE.
Though I'm absolutely not a scrapbooker and have only done a few pages EVER, I gave it a shot since there were so many awesome supplies in our smARTworks package to do so. I know, I know....it's not a winter spread, but it comes from the heart.....every winter I dream about spring to keep away the winter time blues! Everything you see here was provided by smARTworks, except for the fence punch, scalloped circle punch, and Sizzix letters for the title. (How do you like the trees I made with a zebra background stamp?!)

This quick and easy card was also made using these smARTworks materials: watercolor note card and matching envelope, pink satin ribbon, pink gemstones, sentiment from the "God Bless" set, and the wreath was stamped with a tiny branch stamp (name unknown).
