Play Ball!

Hi, everyone! My card today is for the Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoast....instead of the tag element, I created a home plate. Baseball season began yesterday here in Indy....it may snow here today but everyone is still in the mood for baseball!!  Since I don't have a cutting die, I cut and matted the home plate just with a paper cutter.  The sentiment is from Teamwork and the baseball is from the Baseball Stamp/Die Duo set from Divinity Designs LLC.  The umpire's brush was created with a cheap paintbrush which I dis-assembled; the wooden handle is designer paper from the Weathered Wood Collection.  The main panel was covered with an Adhesive Sheet; the home plate, umpire brush, and A2 Thin Pierced Frame were added, then the adhesive sheet was covered in Flower Soft to look like dirt.

Flower Soft Asian Style

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper at Splitcoast is Rose aka rokale....congrats, Rose!  I chose this beautiful card for inspiration!  It reminded me of the many Flower Soft 3d Scenic Windows kits that I've had in my stash for a long time.  My mom loves Asian designs, so I will save this for her birthday.  Though the photo does not show the 3d layers very well, there are three layers of the scene which have to be cut out and popped up with foam tape, then multiple colors of Flower Soft sprinkles were added to the scene.  As in Rose's card, I used red and gold with a gold cord accent.  The gold mat was cut out with the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies; the sentiment panel was cut out with the ODBD Custom Stitched Ovals Dies and stamped with a sentiment from Doily Blessings.

Birthday Bunnies with Paper Tole

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Michele G.....congrats, Michele!!!  There were so many gorgeous cards to choose from, but I finally decided on this adorable card.  I love the circular design with the partial fence at the bottom...super cute!!  For my card, I printed out a digi card kit I bought from Flower Soft several years ago, fussy cut and popped up all of the paper tole pieces.  The fence is the ODBD Custom Fence Die and the sentiment is from 'Doily Blessings'.  This will be a birthday card for my niece who loves bunnies and her fave color is pink.  Since I don't have any bunny stamps, this digi kit was the way to go!

Here is another view which shows the layers of the paper tole.....took a while to cut them all out and place foam tape on the back, but it's well worth the effort to create such dimension. (Click on the photo for a close up.)

Flower Soft Scenic Window Card

Hi, everyone! Today's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is focused on anything that flies.....planes, kites, butterflies, birds, and so on. This card I had made five years ago for a Flower Soft tutorial for Our Daily Bread designs, but never posted it to my gallery. Today seems like the perfect day to do so. I used one of the Flower Soft Scenic Window 3d kits...cut out the pieces, pop them up with foam tape, then added Raspberry Fizz and Citrus Crush UltraFine Flower Soft to embellish the pre-printed scene.  The peel-off stickers are also from Flower Soft (not sure if they still carry them.) The sentiment is from 'Nest' from Our Daily Bread designs. I sent this card to my aunt who had just moved.

Flower Soft Magnet

Hi, everyone! Today's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is all about pot.....haha, wanted to see if you were paying attention!!! I'm talking about flower pots of course....happy spring!!!

I created this magnet five years ago for a Flower Soft Tutorial on the Our Daily Bread designs Blog, but never posted it on my own blog or gallery.  I used Flower Soft Gold Peel Off Stickers, Country Taglets, original 'Lilac' Flower Soft, along with 'Raspberry Fizz' and 'Citrus Crush' Flower Soft from the Ultra Fine line, an EK Success Scripture Sticker, and May Arts Satin Ribbon (tied with a Bow Easy).

Play Time With Lucky 3D Card

Happy Saturday, everyone!  What a glorious day here in Indiana....another "open up the windows" day!!!

Today's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to choose an item from the Kids section at M & S.....when I saw the image on this puzzle packaging, it reminded me of the shaped cards in some Flower Soft Digital Kits I bought last year but have never used.  Ha, I thought that this would be a quick and easy card to make, however, once the shaped card and pieces were printed, it took over an hour to cut out the 3d pieces and layer them with foam tape....lol!!!  It was worth it in the end, but I won't do another one of these for a while! :)

This kit was from "Play Time With Lucky" from the Elisabeth Bell - Simpler Times collection....I ordered it directly from Flower Soft.  This next photo shows all of the 3d layers which gives it some great dimension.

"Be Joyful!" Flower Soft Scrap It Frame!

Hi everyone! Today I would like to share another Flower Soft "Scrap It Frame It" project which I made for the tutorial for the Our Daily Bread designs Blog last month...click HERE to see the video and article, plus the other samples. These frames are so fun that I made three for the tutorial....I just couldn't help myself! I wanted to show how they could be used in many different ways.

This frame features photos of my hubby and me.  I was holding the camera myself and was wavering all over the place, which is why we were laughing.  He never dreamed that the photos would turn out!  The "Mwaah" stamp in the "Be Joyful" set was included by Kelley (owner of ODBD) because of my hubby.  He had included Mwaah in his notes to me for many years......I started using it when writing to Kelley and my sisters at Our Daily Bread designs, and it became "part of the landscape", so to speak.  So....I just had to use the "Be Joyful" set along with the photos of us, especially the "Mwaah" stamp!

Supplies used:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs "Be Joyful" (flowers and sentiments);
Cardstock: Stampin Up 'Pool Party' and 'Whisper White';
Accessories: Flower Soft 'Scrap It Frame It' kit'Orange Blossom' Ultrafine Flower Soft (in the centers of the inset flowers), grosgrain ribbon, Scor-tape, Stampin Up markers'Pool Party' and 'Lucky Limeade',  and 'Barely Banana' ink pad (sponging).

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  God bless and Mwaah to you!!! :)

Perfect Gift

Happy Saturday, everyone! Today I have a fun card to share with you.  I hope you aren't tired of seeing Flower Soft creations yet!  Once I open up my Flower Soft stash, I get a little crazed and have to keep using it!! :)  When I spotted these adorable bears with shopping bags (from the Flower Soft 'Recipes For Friends' Kit), I thought this image would go so well with this scripture from "The Perfect Gift" stamp set by Our Daily Bread designs.  I love to use sets in other ways than originally intended......"The Perfect Gift" was designed for Christmas, but due to the versatility of this and all other ODBD sets, there are so many more options!

I will be submitting this card to the following challenges:
Splitcoast's Inspiration Challenge: I chose these fun earrings from Agate Christina because of the gorgeous color combination.....after digging through my designer paper stash, I found this My Mind's Eye paper to be a perfect match....yay for designer papers!!
The Shining the Light "L.E.A.F." Challenge at the Our Daily Bread designs blog......L = leaves on the designer paper, E = 'Earth' Flower Soft sprinkles, A = Adhesive Pearls, F = floral designer paper.
Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge is "Texture", which was accomplished by using Flower Soft.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'The Perfect Gift' (scripture verse);
Cardstock: Stampin Up 'Real Red', 'Pool Party', and 'Whisper White';
Designer Paper: Flower Soft Image from 'Recipe For Friends' Card Making Kit, 'My Mind's Eye 'Miss Caroline: Dolled Up';

Peace, Joy, Love, and Flower Soft!!!

Hi, everyone!!  Though it still felt like summer in Indiana yesterday, we all know that winter is so very close.....so, I gave in and made a wintery card to help me get ready!  The sentiment is from the "Perfect Gift" set by Our Daily Bread designs and the image is a pre-printed card topper by Flower Soft (link below).

I will be submitting this card to a couple of challenges:
The Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge is about Peace, so this sentiment was perfect;
the Shining the Light "L.E.A.F. Recipe" Challenge over at the Our Daily Bread designs blog is to use elements on your project which start with three of the four letters....L = lamp-post, E = embossing (dry embossing on die-cuts), F = Flower Soft.

I can't say enough about how much I love Flower Soft products!  Their beautiful pre-printed card toppers save sooooo much time, plus....they're just plain gorgeous!!  This beautiful light post scene is from the Vintage Christmas kit, which has many varieties and sizes of 'card toppers' which can be cut out with Spellbinder dies.......to find out how to cut out the card toppers with the coordinating Spellbinder dies, check out the tutorial I did for Our Daily Bread designs HERE.

Our Daily Bread designs "For The Love Of...." Blog Hop!

Happy Thursday, everyone!!!  Woo hoo, it's time for another Our Daily Bread designs "For the Love Of...." Blog Hop, hosted by our fabulous Alumni Team, and joined by some of the Design Team and Challenge Team!!!  The theme this time around is "For the Love Of.....Celebrations!"  During the hop today, you will see many different types of celebratory projects, for example, weddings, babies, graduations, anniversaries, and so on!   For a chance to win, hop to each of the blogs, leave a comment on each, then head to the ODBD Blog to let us know that you have hopped to each spot.  You have until Wednesday, June 6th at 6pm EST to complete the hop!

By the way, if you have hopped here from Sabrina's fabulous blog, you are right where you want to be.  If you just stopped by for a visit, please make sure you head over to the ODBD Blog and start at the beginning and to see all of the deets, including the entire link list.

For my hop sample today, I have used the "Love" set, shown below, in order to make a 20th Anniversary card for my hubby!  Since we celebrated our anniversary by going on a cruise, I thought a beach scene card would be appropriate.

The main panel of my card was cut at 5-3/8 square (since the card base itself was 5-1/2 square).  I placed a scratch paper mask just about half way down the panel, and sponged the water first.  Using the same ink, I sponged clouds over a punched scallop circle, then used a Stamp-a-ma-jig stamp positioner to stamp the sentiment from the "Count The Waves" set.  The beach was created by cutting a piece of Kraft cardstock, then the top edge was torn for an uneven look.  The "Happy Anniversary" sentiment was stamped onto the cardstock, adhered to the main panel, then the shell sticker was added.  Ultrafine Flower Soft "Sand" was then used to cover the Kraft panel all over so that the sentiment looks as though it was written in the sand.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Love' and 'Count The Waves';
Cardstock: Stampin Up Early Espresso (BROWN), Whisper White, and Crumb Cake (Kraft);
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Stampin Up Pool Party;
Accessories: May Arts Twill Ribbon, Stampin Up Buttons, Baker's Twine, Sea Shell Sticker, Ultrafine 'Sand' Flower Soft, Flower Soft Glue, Paper Piercer and Template, Foam Tape, Sponge Dauber;
Size: 5-1/2 x 5-1/2.

I have included the Perfect Sentiments Challenge also, which was to create a masculine card, with a sentiment of your feelings, plus no designer paper.

Now, the moment you've been waiting for....on with the hop!!!!!

Your next stop with be with the uber-talented Lori!!!  Enjoy the rest of the hop!!!!

God bless!
