I Always Thank God For You!

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Carla aka Covington Crafter.....congrats, Carla!  When cruising through her awesome gallery, this beautiful quilt card caught my attention.  I love the pieced background, stamped quilt center and scalloped border.  For my card, I used the ODBD Custom Log Cabin Quilt Die with a pattern from the ODBD Americana Quilt Paper Collection. The scalloped border was cut from the ODBD Custom Lacey Layered Squares Dies.  The sentiment from Many Thanks was stamped onto a partial doily cut from the ODBD Custom Doily Dies set.  A white bow and three navy pearls were added as finishing touches.

Birthday Wishing Well

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is a 'miniatures' expert, Minnur!  Wow, there are so many shadow boxes, cards, and creative projects to look at in her gallery.  I loved the country feel, sunflowers, and rich colors of this gorgeous shadowbox, so I incorporated those colors and some country elements in my card.  For my card, I clear embossed the Honeycomb Background on the mustard card base, cut a banner from the ODBD 'Blooming Garden' Paper Collection, cut the sentiment panel from the ODBD Custom 'Pennants' Dies set, stamped the 'Wishing Well' image onto a panel cut with the ODBD Custom 'Ovals' Dies, stamped the bee from the 'Butterfly and Bugs' set, then cut him out with the ODBD Custom 'Butterfly and Bugs' Dies set.  Other than the added pearls, this card is flat and should mail easily.

Apple Season

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper is Julie E. aka Humma......congrats, Julie!!!  Julie's gallery has such a wonderful variety of projects....I chose this beautiful card to re-create using the Our Daily Bread designs "Apples" set, along with the ODBD "Quatrefoil Pattern" die which was used to emboss rather than cut. (To emboss only with any cutting die, use the sandwich recipe you normally would to emboss what you have just die-cut.....cutting plate, die cutting side up, cardstock, embossing mat, embossing plate.)

A Bushel and a Peck!

Hi, everyone!  How about another sneak peek of a new set by Our Daily Bread designs?  This is simply called "Apples".....I LOVE this set and will wear it out for sure!!  Isn't this the sweetest sentiment?!

This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to choose an item from the Eskayel store......I chose this fabric with rust, red, and green patterns.  The Friday Free4 All Challenge was to use primary colors red, blue, yellow, or a combination of them....I used red, blue and blue+yellow=green!

How did I create this scene?  The "Apples" image was stamped in Stazon Jet Black permanent ink onto a square white piece of cardstock and also onto a piece of scratch paper.  The scratch paper image was cut out (just inside the lines) and placed over the image on the cardstock as a mask (to protect the image while the background was sponged).  I cut a long rounded piece from another piece of scratch paper with my craft knife in order to sponge the grassy hill.  The clouds were sponged over the edge of a punched scallop circle.  After all of the sponging was done, the mask was removed from the apple bushel and the image was partially watercolored and the rest was colored with markers. Paper piercing was added, along with baker's twine and red gemstones, then popped up over a rust-colored card.

The Smallest Seed of Faith

Hello there!!!  Three days and counting until the new releases will be revealed over at Our Daily Bread designs, but you are getting a preview right now!  The sentiment I have used is from the new "Apples" set.  I can't wait to show you the entire stamp set......it's amazing!!!!

I used the (retired) "Nested Apples" Spellbinders die set to cut out the apple, stenciled the panel with green ink, free-hand paper pierced it, then adhered it over a blue-jean panel which was cut from a pair of torn jeans which my brother donated to me several years ago.....I have used the jeans for many projects and have plenty of material left to last a couple of more years!!

I will be submitting this card for a couple of challenges around blog land this week:
The Mojo Sketch #308 (at the left).....since I flipped the sketch for my card, I flipped the sample photo so that it was recognizable;
The Word Art Wednesday challenge is "Anything Goes", as long as you share a wonderful message.

Before I go, just wanted to let everyone know that there is a big sale going on at Our Daily Bread designs until the last day of August.  No code needed, but all stamps and dies are 20% off....woo hoo!!!!   Check out the details on this post!

Thanks for stopping by!
