Happy Saturday, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from Serengeti Fashions....I fell in love with the colors and tropical flowers of this ladies top. For my card, I started with watercolor paper plus navy blue, medium blue, and light green inks using the Ink, Spray, and Smash Technique. Once the panel was dry, I used the ODBD Custom Frangipani Dies set and ODBD Custom Tropical Leaves Dies set with scratch paper so that the outside edges of the images could be sponged. Then the dies were placed over the sponged image and the inside patterns were sponged. The word die from the 'Walk By Faith' Stamp/Die Duos set was cut out of the panel plus cut twice with navy blue cardstock, using the Two Tier Eclipse technique (found here at SCS on the Tutorials link....note: you have to be signed in to access this page.) Once the panel was cut and framed with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies set and the Faith word popped up, the only embellishments added were some green pearls.

Carte Postale Throwback
Hi, everyone! This week's Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoast is a fun one....since my job was eliminated last month, I have been purging every room in the house, especially my craft room. While cleaning and organizing, I have fallen in love with my old Stampin Up sets again. For my card today, I have used the 'Carte Postale' set along with the 'Fine Lace' background stamp. This card is a bit of a throwback to an old favorite card which I had created with this set ten years ago...see it HERE. The flowers were colored by using markers direct to the stamp; both the flowers and the bird were fussy cut...there were no matching dies back then! :)

Donut Worry, Be Happy!
Happy Saturday, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from the Hayneedle site....I fell in love with this donut print and tried to 'mostly' recreate it with this birthday card for my niece, Skylee. Though I didn't have any chevron paper, I did find a gingham pattern in the same color in the 'Sweet Shoppe' Paper Collection by North Coast Creations. The donut image and sentiment are from 'Sprinkled With Love' Stamps and Dies set, also by NCC. The icing was colored with Pink Passion and Rich Razzleberry; Smooch pearl paints were used to enhance the sprinkles; a clear glaze pen was used to coat the entire icing layer. The popped up frame and gingham panel were cut with the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Squares Dies set.

The Lord is Good - Name Frame Gift
Hi, everyone! This week's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is to pay tribute to one of your neighboring states with your project. I live in Indiana and my project today features the state of Kentucky in several ways: this nameframe is for my niece who lives in Kentucky, the grassy hills represent the hilly/mountainous regions, plus being in nature in the countryside is so spiritual, hence, the scripture verse. The following items from ODBD were used to create this frame: Scripture Collection 11, Butterfly and Bugs, ODBD Custom Dies: Butterfly and Bugs, Large Letters Dies, Fence Die, Grass Hill Die, Grass Lawn Die, Clouds and Raindrops, Pierced Circles, Circle Ornaments, Flower Box Fillers. The letters were cut out three times each, once from the polka dot pattern from the ODBD 'Rustic Beauty' Paper Collection, once from white, and once from plum.

Play Ball!
Hi, everyone! This week's Ways To Use It Challenge theme is 'summertime fun'. My Buford card from yesterday would have fit this perfectly! Another fave summer past-time is baseball. This card is a belated birthday card for my friend's son, Zach. When asked what type of uniform would he design for himself, he was very creative with the parameters: black and gold, the team name would be the Tornadoes and his fave number is 16. I had a blast customizing this card for him. Here are the items from ODBD used in Zach's card: All-Star Jersey stamps, Pennant Swag Solid Alphabet, and these ODBD Custom Dies: Sports Jerseys Dies, Pennant Swag Die, Alphabet Dies, Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, Double Stitched Pennant Flags Dies, Pennant Flags Dies, and Sparkling Stars Dies. Some leftover strips of the gold metallic cardstock were adhered to the sleeves so that it would look more realistic. I will also be submitting this to the June Fan Club Central Theme Challenge due to the sports theme, plus the white panel was scored using my Scor-buddy.

Buford At The Beach
Hi, everyone! When I saw this week's Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoast, I immediately thought of this sunny beach design from the ODBD 'By The Shore' Paper Collection. To go along with the beach theme, I chose the 'Pool Time Buford' image from North Coast Creations. The sentiment die is from the ODBD Custom 'Inspiration Words' Dies. The framing was cut with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies.

Love and Happiness
Hi, everyone! One of my younger brothers got married on Saturday and this is the card I made for him and his new bride! Their wedding colors were royal blue and lavender, so I used those colors for the card. The floral image panel is just one of ten designs (4 of each design) from the ODBD 'God's Beauty' Coloring Pages set. After water-coloring the flowers, the center of the coloring page was fussy-cut out to create an aperature. The panel was popped up with foam tape for dimension. The sentiment is from 'Wedding Blessings' and the royal blue panel was cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies.

Fearfully and Wonderfully Made
Hi, everyone! My card today combines Splitcoast's Clean and Simple 'Celebration' Challenge plus this week's dreamy Color Challenge : Mint Macaron, Blushing Bride, and Very Vanilla. For my card, I picked three sheets from the ODBD 'Romantic Roses' Paper Collection and a scripture stamp from the 'Today and Everyday' stamp set to create a birthday card for my sister-in-law.

Shabby Steno Pad
Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Jeri aka stampmontana....congrats, Jeri! Instead of a card, I chose to case this beautiful steno pad since I need a pad to keep track of all of my to-do lists. Instead of die-cutting a butterfly like Jeri did, I chose a butterfly pattern from the ODBD Shabby Rose Paper Collection and die cut an 'A' with the ODBD Custom Letter A Die out of two sheets from the ODBD Shabby Pastels Paper Collection. To see how quick and easy these steno pads are to decorate, see my tutorial HERE.

Sending You Sunshine
Hi, everyone! This week's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is 'Vacation View'. Nothing says 'vacation' like a beach scene!! The stamps I used are from the 'Sending You Sunshine' set. The sandcastle was stamped with Stazon Jet Black onto watercolor paper then cut out with the ODBD Custom Sandcastle Die. The sandcastle was water-colored and popped up with foam tape over a panel which was cut out of watercolor paper with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies set. The panel was left inside of the die while the sand and sunset were sponged. The red panel was cut from the ODBD Custom Circle Scalloped Rectangles Dies set. A bow tied with linen thread was added as the only embellishment.

You Bless Me!
Hi, everyone! This week's Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoast is very versatile....you can make it as CAS or as layered as you wish! I went with a CAS angle, using a vanilla card base, two rectangles and a square cut from the same pattern from the ODBD 'Blushing Rose' Paper Collection. The designer paper panels were cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Squares and Pierced Rectangles Dies; the butterfly was cut out of vanilla cardstock with the ODBD Custom Fancy Fritillary Dies and sponged with pink, green, and brown. The sentiment is from 'Sentiments Collection' and was stamped in Stazon Timber Brown. Three brown pearls were added to balance out the card. This card was super quick and easy....I plan to make two more of the same design and put them back for Mother's Day next year.

Turtley Awesome Birthday
Hi, everyone! This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use Dapper Denim, Tangerine Tango, and Sahara Sand. For my background, I used Sahara Sand and Dapper Denim with the ink spray and smash technique; once dry the panel was cut out with the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies. The sea turtle from 'Turtle Love' Stamp/Die Duo was stamped with Stazon Jet Black, cut out with the custom die, and water-colored with Dapper Denim and Tangerine Tango. The sentiment panel was cut out with the ODBD Custom Stitched Ovals Dies and sponged with Sahara Sand. Baker's twine was the only type of embellishment used.

Happy Birthday, Brother
Hi, everyone! My card today combines the Technique Lover's Challenge (coffee painting) and the Clean and Simple Challenge (use banners) from Splitcoast. My background was created by using the ink, spray and smash technique with a bit of ink and lots of instant coffee granules. After the panel was dry, the silhouette from 'Brother in Christ' was stamped in black and the panel was cut with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies set. The sentiment was cut out with the ODBD Custom Large Banners Dies, using the die re-sizing technique to make the banner shorter. Across the top is a strand of embroidery floss....the six strands were un-woven from the thread and stretched separately across.

Tickled Pink
Hi, everyone! I'm back with another card for the Featured Stamper Challenge over at Splitcoast. Since my first card only took 10 minutes, I went back to Cindy's gallery for more CAS (clean and simple) inspiration to help me catch up on my birthday card list. This time around I chose this super cute flamingo card for inspiration. I used the 'Tickled Pink' set from Our Daily Bread designs. The sentiment was masked so that each word could be stamped separately. The sky was sponged over a template cut from the ODBD Custom Clouds and Raindrops Dies set; the 'water' was sponged over a piece of scratch paper; a white chalk marker dotted the top of the water line at the flamingo's feet. This card is for a dear friend of mine who will be 88 years young this week (I swear she stopped aging at 70!) I will be submitting this to the 'Less is More' Friendship Challenge as well.

Hello My Friend
Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Cindy aka cdk22968...congrats, Cindy!! I fell in love with this awesome CAS design from Cindy's gallery. I changed the stencil, color, and sentiment, plus I added three sequins. I do not know the name of the stencil, but the stamp is from 'Sentiments Collection 2' from ODBD. I will also be submitting this card to the 'Less is More' Friendship Challenge this week.

Hi, everyone! I have a confession.....I am totally addicted to American Ninja Warrior!!! Not only are the obstacle courses very challenging and the athletes are all amazing, but I love to hear each of the contestant's stories, plus the announcers make it even more fun! Why am I bringing this up, you ask? Recently Akbar Gbaja-Biamila (one of the announcers) wore the most beautiful blue suit with a yellow shirt under it. Each time the camera pointed at Akbar, I wanted to run to my stamp room to make a card!!!! When I saw the Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast, I knew that today was finally the day that the inspiration came to life! This week's Inspiration site is Lang by Calendars.....this gorgeous blue and yellow calendar jumped right out at me!! For my card, I chose one of the floral prints from the ODBD God's Beauty Coloring Pages, colored the flower centers with yellow then coated them with a clear glaze pen. The flowers were water-colored with Brilliant Blue ink. Once the leaves were colored with an Old Olive marker, the center of the coloring page was fussy-cut out and the panel was popped up on foam tape over a Barely Banana panel which was cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies. The word dies are from the ODBD Custom Inspiration Words Dies set and the tiny hearts are from the ODBD Custom Umbrellas Dies set. I will also be submitting this to the May Fan Club 'Mother May I?' Challenges since I will be saving this for my Mom's birthday....these colors will melt her as they did me!!

A Mighty Warrior
Hi, everyone! This week's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is to make a Father's Day card or a masculine card. Since my three Father's Day cards are finished, I created a birthday card for my brother-in-law who is a chaplain for the Indiana National Guard. His favorite color is green, so I combined Always Artichoke and Crumb Cake for his card. The soldier and scripture are from the ODBD set, 'Not Forgotten'; the backgrounds were stamped with the 'Rope Background' stamp; the little cross was stamped with a retired 'Stamped By Me' stamp, the Wood Fish Mini (which has three crosses...I cut one of the smaller crosses out to fit on the tiny banner.) The banners were all cut with the ODBD Custom Large Banners Dies set; the scripture panel was cut down using the die-resizing technique to make it a perfect fit for the verse. The tiny stars are from the ODBD Custom Sparkling Stars Dies set. I will also be submitting this to the 'Boys of Summer' challenge over at the CAS-ual Fridays challenge blog.

Smile
Hi, everyone! This week's Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoast is number 700! What a landmark!! Challenge #700 is a throwback to sketch #1. I've been deep-cleaning my craft room this week and fell in love again with the retired color Marigold Morning, so I had to use it for today's challenge. The 'Daisy' single was stamped twice onto white cardstock, then portions were cut out with the ODBD Custom 'A Gift For You' Dies set, matted with the same set. The shasta daisies were watercolored with Marigold Morning, Lucky Limeade, and Pool Party. I used one of the smaller dies from the ODBD Custom Large Banners Dies set to cut four pieces which made up the background strip. The sentiment was cut with the ODBD Custom Inspiration Words Dies. White satin ribbon and Lucky Limeade baker's twine finished off the tags. I will also be submitting this to the May Fan Club Central Theme 'Mother May I?' since these are some of her fave colors, she loves shasta daisies, plus she makes me 'smile'!

Gone Fishing!
Happy Saturday, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from the Caron's Beach House site. I needed to make a birthday card for one of my nephews and this 'Gone Fishin' wall art was just the help I needed. For my card, I started the 'Great Catch' Stamp/Die Duos set, stamped and cut out the bass and lures with the custom dies, colored the lures with markers, but water-colored the bass. I cut out a circle with the ODBD Custom Pierced Circles Dies, then sponged the scene with sponges using reverse masking and the sponged sky technique. The 'Fishing Net Background' was stamped in Versamark onto the card base and the kraft panel which was cut out with the ODBD Custom Large Banners Dies set. For the sentiment banner, I used the die-resizing technique to make the die-cut a bit larger so that the 'Gone Fishing' stamp would fit. A paper piercer was used to poke a hole in the lure so that the linen thread could be threaded through it.. The last finishing touch was to add a bit of clear glaze pen to the fish's eye.

Our Daily Bread designs June New Releases
Hi, everyone! Welcome to the June New Release party for Our Daily Bread designs! This month Kelley has released more beautiful dies, stamps, and another collection of Coloring Pages!!! See the entire release HERE, instructions regarding prizes, plus some amazing samples from my designer sisters!
Here are the products featured in my two samples for today:
My first card features one of the floral patterns from God's Beauty Coloring Pages. The flowers were colored with light yellow and light pink markers; the center of the page was fussy-cut out and the edges trimmed off. The coloring page was popped up with foam tape over a vanilla panel which was cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies set. The bible verse is from Scripture Collection 3, which I chose to coordinate with the 'Believe' word die from the ODBD Custom Inspiration Words Dies set.
My next project is a fancy fold card which features the new 'Brother in Christ' stamp set, along with the following items: ODBD Custom Lever Card Dies, ODBD Custom Lever Card Layers Dies, ODBD Custom Sparkling Stars Dies, ODBD Custom Double Stitched Squares Dies, ODBD Custom Fence Die, and the Stars and Stripes Paper Collection. The image was stamped in Stazon Jet Black, then sponged with red and navy. This is the front of the card, closed and ready for an A2 envelope.
This is the open view of the lever card. The sentiment panel was sponged with the same inks to match the image panel and the same designer paper was used throughout.
Thanks for hanging out with us today!
