You Are Awesome!
Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Michele Wright aka The Cow Whisperer....congrats, Michele! I chose this awesome card to case using this week's Color Challenge. Instead of a marbled stamp, I created a background with alcohol inks then chose a die cut sentiment instead of images. Since I didn't have any of the new Stampin Up colors, I chose 'Stream', 'Butterscotch', and gold alcohol inks to create a marbled background on Yupo paper. Once the panel was finished, it was cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies. The sentiments are from the 'You Bless Me So' Stamp/Die Duos; the 'You' was cut from black and the sentiment was stamped onto gold metallic cardstock. Since I don't have Nuovo drops or enamel dots for dessert for the Color Challenge, I cut five tiny gold stars with the ODBD Custom Sparkling Stars Dies.

Marbled Hello
Hi, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge site over at Splitcoast is Caspari.....I chose these marbled napkins as inspiration. For my card, the marbled background was created by blending alcohol inks onto a Yupo paper panel which was cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies. The ODBD Custom 'Hello' Die was cut from the panel and twice from brown cardstock for layers to create the Eclipse technique. Pearl sequins were added for simple embellishments. This card will go into my birthday card stash.

Love and Hugs with Alcohol Inks
Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Crystal Komara aka crykomara.....congrats, Crystal!!! Crystal had several awesome cards in her gallery on which she used alcohol inks.....I chose this awesome design to case today so that I could practice with my alcohol inks. I also loved the clever layout with the vellum circle and die cuts. For my card, I began by adding pink, purple, teal, pearl, and gold alcohol inks to Yupo paper, blended them with the mixative, cut the panel with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies, added the vellum circle which was cut with the ODBD Custom Pierced Circles Dies, trimmed the edge, then matted the panel in eggplant. Gold metallic cardstock was used to die cut the larger rectangle, the butterfly from the ODBD Custom Bitty Butterflies Dies, and the 'hugs' from the ODBD 'Hugs' Stamp/Die Duos set. Gold heart sequins were added to coordinate with the other gold touches.

Faithfulness, Mercy, and Love
Hi, everyone! I pray that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday...I sure did! Today I would like to share a quick card which I mailed out earlier this week to a dear friend. The leaf image, sentiment and script background are all from 'Randi's Song' by Our Daily Bread designs, stamped onto an ivory panel which was cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies. To get the different color variations, I used the "stamping off" technique with Cajun Craze, More Mustard, and Rich Razzleberry inks. The script stamp was inked in Crumb Cake, stamped off, then stamped to fill in between the color blocks. The ribbon and card base are Rich Razzleberry.

Watercolor Birthday Balloons
Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Nicole aka cnsteele...congrats, Nicole! I chose this fun card to case today, but instead of Colorburst, I cut my balloons and sentiment from a leftover piece of a Wrinkle Free Distress panel from which I made a card a few months ago. Here are the ODBD Custom Dies used to make this card: Happy Birthday Dies (balloons), Celebrate and Wish, and Sparkling Stars. Since the watercolor panel was already done, this was a super quick card....gotta love that! :)

Nuts About You!
Hi, everyone! My card today combines two Splitcoast challenges: the Clean and Simple Challenge them is 'Ah, Nuts!' and the Technique Lovers Challenge is to use any stenciling technique. I began by choosing a chevron stencil to use with Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, and Night of Navy inks for a gradient look. The acorns from 'Autumn Blessings' were stamped three times, watercolored, then cut out with the ODBD Custom Fall Leaves and Acorn Dies set. The sentiment is from 'Thankful Song'. Both panels were cut out with the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies. The card base was swiped with an ink pad, creating the faux wood look. I will be putting this card in my stash to save it for my hubby's birthday. Good thing he doesn't read my blog! lol!!

Impressed, Amazed, Inspired by You!
Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is LeAnn aka N2SCRAPPIN....congrats, LeAnn! I chose this amazing card from her gallery to case since I needed a birthday card today for my nephew. I used similar colors, three panels, embossed sentiment on black, and black baker's twine. I began by swiping Island Indigo and Old Olive ink pads onto a craft sheet, spritzed with water, then mopped up the ink with a white piece of cardstock (the wrinkle free distress technique). Once the panel was dry, the trees from 'Wide Open Spaces' were stamped in black and the panel was cut into thirds, matted in black, then popped up over an indigo card base. The sentiment from 'Sweet Little Sentiments' was heat embossed in pewter; two pewter brads were added to match the embossing powder. My card is a bit boring compared to LeAnn's work of art, but I think my nephew will like it.

Old Rugged Cross Autumn Collage
Hi, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from Christmas Central.....I chose this gorgeous fall table cover with colorful leaves and red border. 'The Old Rugged Cross' background was stamped in black onto ivory cardstock; after tearing the edges, the panel was sponged with caramel and distressed with espresso brown. The leaves from 'Autumn Blessings' were stamped over the hymn after lifting the colors with Alcohol Lift Ink from a Yupo panel which was inked with multiple alcohol inks. Three of the 'ghosted' leaves were cut out with the ODBD Custom Fall Leaves and Acorn Dies.

Mixed Media Dream
Hi, everyone! Today I stepped out of my comfort zone and played in the Mixability Challenge over at Splitcoast, which was to use different types of text on your card. I am also playing in the Friday Free4All Challenge, which is to use a stamp or stamp set which has never seen ink before, so I chose the 'Elements of Style' set by Stampin Up and a misc text stamp which I bought at a scrapbook store over ten years ago. I began by creating an inked panel using the Wrinkle Free Distress Technique (caramel, kraft, and blush dye inks were swiped onto a craft sheet, spritzed, then mopped up with the cardstock). Once the panel was dry, the text stamp was stamped with Stazon Jet Black. Each section of the stamp was torn, inked, then adhered to a Cherry Cobbler card base. White acrylic paint was lightly painted over the text; the floral image from 'Elements of Style' was stamped with Stazon, then the flowers were colored with Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, and Always Artichoke markers. The 'Dream' letters (from Top Dog Dies) were cut and adhered. I decided not to add any embellishments so that it could be mailed with one stamp.

Our Daily Bread designs November New Release
Hi, everyone! Welcome to the November New Release party for Our Daily Bread designs! Since there was an early pre-order sale on the November Bundles, you have probably seen all of the new goodies for this month, but if not, check out this post on the ODBD Blog to see them all, along with some amazing designer samples.
Here are the ODBD items used in my card sample for today:
I don't know about you, but pink poinsettias are my FAVE! The traditional red and the elegant white varieties are gorgeous, but there is something about the pink ones that really get me! So, of course I had to color my poinsettias light pink. The poinsettias and scripture verse are from the 'Joyful Christmas' Stamp/Die Duos set; the yummy designer paper is from the ODBD Christmas Paper Collection 2018. The other dies used here are the ODBD Custom Quilted Background Die, ODBD Custom Double Stitched Circles Dies, and the ODBD Custom Circles Dies. Three pink pearls and a baker's twine bow were added as simple embellishments.
Here is a helpful tip when using any of the ODBD quilt dies. Cut a cardstock panel a smidge smaller than the quilt frame, make a sticker out of the panel by using a Xyron sticker maker (or by covering the entire surface with adhesive). Carefully adhere the die-cut frame, then place the inside pieces within the frame and press down onto the sticker surface. This is the most efficient way I've found so that each individual piece doesn't have to be glued down one at a time. When finished, make sure to go over each section and press down to make sure they are adhered well. For a quick photo tutorial, see this post. Have fun!
