Hi, everyone! Along with quite a few Dare To Get Dirty Challenges, I was able to create a card for the Featured Stamper challenge over at Splitcoast. This week's artist is one of my fave Aussie's, Helen aka helekins....congrats, Helen! My hubby and I are counting the days to next year's cruise vacation, so I was instantly drawn to this beautiful card, plus it was perfect to use stamp_momma's DTGD challenge as well. (Can't share any DTGD challenge details...you have to sign up for the Fan Club first!) Since the monthly Fan Club theme for July is 'This Land is My Land', I will submit my card to that thread as well since this is another vacation themed project. Since my palm tree scene was horizontal, I flipped her layout to the side, but it is still basic rectangles. This is the Happy Retirement set by Our Daily Bread designs; also used were the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles and Pierced Ovals Dies. The background was sponged and the trees colored with markers.
My next card is for the DTGD vasunshine challenge. This is my first attempt using Colorburst watercolor powder....not the greatest result but I kept my first try since I couldn't stand to make more of a mess than I did with the first attempt. I will definitely break out the craft mat next time! lol! The items used in my card are all from Our Daily Bread designs: stamps from Vintage Bird Labels, ODBD Custom Vintage Labels Dies, ODBD Custom Trellis Strip Die (trimmed down to fit the top panel), and the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies.
My next card is for the DTGD UnderstandblueA challenge. I love this new 'Birdhouse' set....the baby birds remind of Suzy's Zoo characters! Along with the Birdhouse set, I also used the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Squares Dies, ODBD Custom Rectangles Dies, and the ODBD Birthday Brights Paper Collection.
The last card for this post was created for the DTGD susieaustralia challenge. The new ODBD Custom Art Deco Die was cut from white cardstock, then cut in half to be used as a border on each side. The center panel (Prima designer paper) was stamped with the 'Bookmarks-Prayers' set, then the word die from the 'Many Blessings Stamp/Die Duos' was added at the top. Paper piercing was added before popping up the center panel.
Thanks for visiting with me today!

Dare To Get Dirty Week Begins!
Happy Saturday, everyone! Saturday is my fave day of the week to stamp, but today is extra special....the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges begin today...yay!!! All Fan Club members at Splitcoast get to "rub elbows" with the Dirty Dozen alumni and participate in a boat load of challenges for a full week!!! Every Saturday brings along my favorite Splitcoast Challenge each week, the Inspiration Challenge. This week's challenge is to find inspiration from the Paper Art Pinterest Board....I loved the butterflies carved from the book HERE (2nd project down). To begin, I stamped the Prayer of St. Francis (from Our Daily Bread designs) onto cream cardstock, then positioned the butterfly dies from ODBD Custom 'Butterfly and Bugs' Dies and ODBD 'Tres Papillons' Dies over select parts of the script. After cutting, they were sponged with Ranger Antique Linen ink and popped up over the black card base. The fancy strip was cut out with my brand new ODBD Custom Flower Lattice Die. The die cut word and sentiment are from the Thanks for Everything Stamp/Die Duo. I had planned to have an ivory background like the inspiration photo, but when I saw how cool the die cut looked against the black, I changed in mid-stream....that's a stamper's prerogative, right?! :) Along with today's Inspiration Challenge, I will also be submitting this to Dina's DTGD challenge. One down, forty-some challenges to go!
Thanks for stopping by! Get ready for extra posts from me for the next week....lots of stamping to do!

Birthday Roses
Hi, everyone! This will be my last sample for the Sketch Challenge team at Splitcoast...it was such an honor to be on the team for a few months!! My card today will be sent to a very special lady. You all know Lori Ulrich aka SaintsRule (my design team sister at Our Daily Bread designs). Her mom is turning 80 and Lori wanted to surprise her with a boatload of birthday cards....I can't wait to hear how many she gets!! On my card, I have used the following items from Our Daily Bread designs: the 'Smell the Roses' stamp set (image and sentiment), ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, ODBD Custom Double Stitched Squares Dies, ODBD Custom Double Stitched Circles Dies, ODBD Pastel Paper Pack, and the ODBD Easter Card Paper Collection 2016. The squared circle was created by first cutting a stitched rectangle, then cut out the partial circle with the stitched circle die.

Celebrate!
Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Jen Carter....congrats, Jen! I chose this awesome card for inspiration to help me to create a birthday card for my brother in law. I have used the following items from Our Daily Bread designs in the making of this card: Patriotic Paper Collection, ODBD Custom Celebrate and Wish Dies, ODBD Custom Sparkling Stars Dies, ODBD Custom Leafy Edged Borders Dies, and the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies. I chose the striped paper so that I may also join the Ways to Use It 'Simply Stripes' Challenge this week.

Pottery Inspired Fishing Creel
Happy Saturday, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to choose a piece of pottery from the Bowls Pinterest Board for your inspiration. Not only did I swoon over the colors of this awesome piece, but the woven basket on top and the beads on the front reminded me of this fishing creel image and fishing lures in this 'Fishing Basket' stamp from Our Daily Bread designs. The scripture verse is from 'The Waves on the Sea'; the card base was stamped with the 'Fishing Net Background' and the panels were cut out with the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies. Some linen thread was knotted and strung across the top of the image panel.

Life Is Better With Sisters!
Hi, everyone! Thanks to an awesome Color Challenge (cantaloupe, coral, and saffron) plus a fabulous Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoast this week, I was able to easily put together this birthday card for my sister. The saffron and cantaloupe led me right to the 'Sweet As Perfume' set from Our Daily Bread designs since most of the Plumeria (or Frangipani) blossoms I saw in Hawaii looked just like this (and smelled like heaven!!) The white panels (cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles and ODBD Custom Pierced Squares Dies) were sponged in saffron and cantaloupe, plus the rectangle background was stamped with the image in saffron. The sentiment is also from 'Sweet As Perfume' but I cut it apart to remove the word 'friends' and add the banner instead. The letters were stamped with the 'Pennant Swag Alphabet'; the pennant frame was cut out with the ODBD Custom Pennant Swag Die. Since this card makes me long for another trip to Hawaii, I will submit it to this month's Fan Club Central Theme Challenge (This Land Is My Land). I will also be adding this to the link up for the ODBD Shining the Light Challenge which is 'Anything That Grows...with ODBD'.

Buford Smiles For A Selfie!
Hi, everyone! I love vacation days because I get to play along with the challenges at Splitcoast!! Today's Clean and Simple Challenge theme is 'Hey, Sunshine!' and the Technique Lover's Challenge is to create a Stamp Selfie card. In order to combine the two challenges, I used the 'Pool Time Buford' image from North Coast Creations along with these items from sister company Our Daily Bread designs: ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies, ODBD Custom Pierced Squares Dies, 'You Bless Me So' Stamp/Die Duo, and the ODBD Birthday Brights Paper Collection. Buford was stamped onto the die cut square, covered with a mask, then the scene was sponged behind him. I will also be submitting this to the Fan Club Central Theme Challenge 'This Land is My Land' (road trip / vacation) and the Word Play Challenge: H=hot weather; O=ocean; M=masking; E=embossed die cuts.

Fishers Of Men
Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Vickie Y.....congrats, Vickie!!! I chose this awesome CAS (clean and simple) card as inspiration for this birthday card for my nephew. The 'Fishing Basket' image, scripture verse from 'The Waves On The Sea', 'Fishing Net Background' and ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies are all from Our Daily Bread designs. The image was stamped in Stazon Black, water-colored and highlighted with markers, then aqua and brown inks were sponged around the image.

Thank You Daisies
Happy Saturday!! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is for all of us flower lovers out there! Choose an arrangement from the Petals website for inspiration for your card or project. I needed to make a thank you card for my sister for organizing a party for my 50th birthday last weekend. She loves anything yellow and summer-y so I chose the Shasta Daisies for inspiration. I started out by stamping the 'Daisy' image from Our Daily Bread designs, die-cutting the frame/image panel around it with the ODBD Custom Ornate Ovals Dies, sponged the oval edges with green and kraft (like the photo) while still inside the die (the daisies were masked), then removed the mask and colored the image with markers. Since the flowers in my inspiration photo were on a wooden counter, I used the 'Wood Background' stamp with Versamark on a Kraft card base, stamped the sentiment from 'Forever Friends' and popped up the image panel with foam tape. I could have added ribbon and bling, but I liked it simple and plain, especially so that I could mail it with one stamp. :)

Crocheted Poppies
Hi, everyone! This week's Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoast was challenging for me at first since it had quite a few different elements, but once I decided on the Crocheted Circle Poppy (and ODBD Custom Crocheted Circle Die), it went together pretty easily. The Crocheted Border was stamped in black, cut out with the ODBD Custom Crocheted Border Die, then was trimmed into sections by hand and placed around the bottom edge. The yellow panel was cut out with the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies set; a rectangle was cut first, then the angled edge was cut with the same die, using the "out of the box" technique. The squares were cut out with the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Squares Dies (to match the rectangle). Both the card base and yellow panel were stamped in Versamark with the matching Crocheted Background stamp for a little texture. The sentiment is from 'Doily Blessings'.

To Thoughtful You, From Thankful Me
Hi, everyone! For my card today, I have combined the Featured Stamper and Inspiration Challenges over at Splitcoast. The Inspiration Challenge was to choose a photo from the Black and White Pinterest Board....I loved this photo and thought that I could find a frilly die cut to mimic the awesome cuff on the shirt. Today's Featured Stamper is Rita aka Scootsv....congrats, Rita! Once I saw this beautiful card, I knew that it was perfect to go with the Inspiration photo I had chosen. For my card, I used the ODBD Custom Decorative Corners Dies, ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies (resized to make a corner), the ODBD Custom Fancy Fritillary Dies, along with a sentiment from 'Thank You Sentiments'.

Birthday Silhouette
Hi, everyone! This week's 600th Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoast gives everyone the choice to pick a sketch from 500-599....see the entire Sketch Gallery (since the beginning) HERE! For my sample, I chose SC520 since I love the more simple layouts. I used the closest colors I had to match the colors from this week's Color Challenge 590: Soft Sky, Pacific Point, Wild Wasabi, and Crumb Cake. The silhouette and sentiment from North Coast Creations' 'Heaven's Masterpiece' was stamped onto a square white panel, then the two blues and green were sponged. To match the frame, which was cut out with the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Squares Dies and ODBD Custom Double Stitched Circles Dies, I used the same circle die to dry emboss around the focal image. The square panel was sponged on the edges, then popped up with foam tape. I wanted to keep this fairly flat, so I only used pearls for embellishments.

Napkin Inspired Royal Coneflower
Happy Saturday, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from a Napkin Board on Pinterest. I'm a sucker for royal blue, so I chose this awesome photo as inspiration for my card today. I focused on the gingham, silver, and royal blue. The silver (mirror paper) frames were cut out with the ODBD Custom Layered Lacey Ovals Dies; the white ovals were cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Ovals Dies and matted in blue ovals cut with the ODBD Custom Ovals Dies set. The coneflower and partial sentiment from 'Forever Friends' were stamped in blue. For bonus points (to incorporate a monogram), the 'F' from 'Flourished Alphabet' was stamped, then a portion of the sentiment stamp was inked with a marker to complete the word. The Gingham Background was stamped then cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies (resized to be half of the rectangle width); the white panel was cut with the same die. The three silver hearts used as embellishments were by-products from the sentiment frame...can you see all of the tiny hearts? LOVE this die!!
