Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Shelly aka mcschmidty...congrats, Shelly! I chose this super cute card to case today....the cowboy's pose with his arms outstretched reminded me of my favorite 'bratty bear' stamp, plus I LOVE the Faux Wood technique. For my card, I used the 'Under the Stars' set from Stampin Up, along with some letter stamps by EK Success which I bought at JoAnn's more than a decade ago. The bear was stamped and watercolored, then the panel was cut out with the Double Stitched Squares Dies from Divinity Designs LLC. A craft knife was used to cut slits so that the linen thread could wrap around his paws. The card base was swiped with a matching ink pad, creating a 'Faux Wood' background. Silver mini brads were added to the corners.

Our Daily Bread designs September New Release
Hi, everyone! Another new month means that there is another awesome new release from Our Daily Bread designs! This month's theme is music.....check out the amazing stamps, dies, gorgeous paper pack, and blog hop prize info HERE!
Here are the new and previously released items featured in my two cards for today:
My first card is pretty straight-forward. I chose a beautiful pattern from the ODBD Notable Notes Paper Collection, stamped the 'Old Rugged Cross' Background directly to the designer paper, distressed and inked the edges, then adhered to a lavender card base. The layered music notes were cut with the ODBD Custom Musical Notes Dies from the same paper pack. The layered cross in the corner was cut with the ODBD Custom Ornamental Crosses Dies set.
My second card features the drum set image from the 'Jesus Rocks' set which was stamped onto white vellum. The vellum panel was cut at an angle to look like a spotlight and adhered to the lavender background. The banner was created with the ODBD Custom Alphabet Flags Dies. The valance was created by cutting three ovals with the ODBD Custom Ovals Dies (shaped with the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies set); the curtains were cut from the ODBD Custom Curtains and Valance Dies set. The tiny stars were cut with the ODBD Custom Sparkling Stars Dies set. All of the papers (except the black) are from the ODBD Notable Notes Paper Collection.
Thanks for hanging out with us!

Glorify Him
Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Carlene aka Chatterbox-1....congrats, Carlene!! I cruised her entire gallery and finally picked this super cute card. I used the following elements in my card for today: masculine theme, gears, linen thread, banners, and a wonderful message for the recipient. The following items were used in the making of my card today: ODBD God Verses 2, ODBD Custom Large Banners Dies, ODBD Custom Steampunk Gears Dies, and a pattern from the Artistic Outpost 'Vagabond Treasures' Paper Collection. The card base was cut out with the largest banner die using the Shaped Card Technique; the scripture panel was cut out by hand after tracing the inside of the die which was used for the mat.

Precious Little Boy
Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is AJ Bodine aka rutabagapie....congrats, AJ!! I chose this super cute card for inspiration today....I loved the country feel, the designer paper frame, the sponged clouds and adorable heart banner at the top! This helped me to put together this new baby card for a co-worker's new grand-baby on the way. I have used the following items from Our Daily Bread designs in the making of this card: the lamb image from 'The Shepherd', ODBD Custom 'Little Lamb' Die, sentiment from 'Little Boys', ODBD Custom Fence Die, ODBD Custom Clouds and Raindrops Dies (for sponging the clouds), ODBD Custom Pennant Row Dies, 'Pennant Alphabet' stamps, ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies, and the ODBD Shabby Pastels Paper Collection.

Life Is Better With Sisters!
Hi, everyone! Thanks to an awesome Color Challenge (cantaloupe, coral, and saffron) plus a fabulous Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoast this week, I was able to easily put together this birthday card for my sister. The saffron and cantaloupe led me right to the 'Sweet As Perfume' set from Our Daily Bread designs since most of the Plumeria (or Frangipani) blossoms I saw in Hawaii looked just like this (and smelled like heaven!!) The white panels (cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles and ODBD Custom Pierced Squares Dies) were sponged in saffron and cantaloupe, plus the rectangle background was stamped with the image in saffron. The sentiment is also from 'Sweet As Perfume' but I cut it apart to remove the word 'friends' and add the banner instead. The letters were stamped with the 'Pennant Swag Alphabet'; the pennant frame was cut out with the ODBD Custom Pennant Swag Die. Since this card makes me long for another trip to Hawaii, I will submit it to this month's Fan Club Central Theme Challenge (This Land Is My Land). I will also be adding this to the link up for the ODBD Shining the Light Challenge which is 'Anything That Grows...with ODBD'.

Sing From The Soul
Hi, everyone! This week's Sketch Challenge 585 over at Splitcoast was pretty challenging for me.....it took me a long while to figure out my plan of action. I finally settled on the 'Songbirds' set by Artistic Outpost, plus the 'Chalkboard Fan Background' by sister company, Our Daily Bread designs. The fancy frame was stamped in gray, fussy cut around the outside, then stamped the songbirds and sentiment in gray as well, then sponged the edges and birdies with cantaloupe. I went way out of my comfort zone and distressed the edges of the background panels...eek!, then sponged them in gray before adhering them to a white mat which was then paper pierced. I didn't have any ribbon that would work with these colors, so I created a banner for an additional sentiment instead.

ODBD Anniversary Week - My Three Favorite Cards
Hi, everyone! As ODBD's Anniversary week is winding down, we have a super fun post for today. Some of my Sistah Sticks and I have picked out three of our personal favorite creations from the past year to share with you. See all of our faves together in this post.
If you'd like to be one of three winners of a gift certificate, follow the instructions below:
* Angie....that's me! * Cathy * Chris * Dawn * Grace * Julie * * Lisa * Lori * Robin * Sabrina * Sandee *
**For each of my three cards, I have copied and pasted the details from the original blog posts (since I was too lazy to re-write them all! lol!!)
My first card was a birthday card for my niece. Here is what I wrote, "She requested purple, green, and black....no problem! Usually it takes me a while to design a card, but this time I instantly thought of the following items from Our Daily Bread Designs which would work together: the awesome butterfly from 'Boho Blessings' (cut out with the largest of the ODBD Custom 'Fancy Fritillary' Dies), the leaf pattern from the 'Beautiful Boho' Paper Collection, the ODBD Custom 'Boho Background' Die, a quote from 'Quote Collection 4', individual letters from the 'Pennant Row Alphabet' set, and the ODBD Custom 'Pennant Row' Dies set. After cutting the ODBD Custom 'Boho Background' out of black cardstock, I cut a TON of little pieces of foam tape in order to pop it up over the designer paper....so worth the time!! The pennant and butterfly were popped up as well. (I am a foam tape addict!!) My niece is an aspiring artist, which is why I chose this particular quote and the word 'Inspire'."
My second fave card was super tedious, but a blast to make....here are the details:
"My project below features the 'Father's Day Tools' single, ODBD Custom 'Workshop Tools' Dies, ODBD Custom 'Tool Time' Dies, and 'Wood Background' stamp. This card was super fun to make, although the fussy cutting the image (and applying foam tape) took four hours total, over the span of several days. The card itself was super easy....it began as an A2 card, then the corners were cut and an oval die was used for the cut out. The card base and front panel were stamped with the ODBD 'Wood Background' stamp, then the edges were sponged for a bit more dimension. The little screws are eyelets which I bought in my first couple months of stamping (15 years ago or so)....I didn't even know what eyelets were, but I loved that they were little screw heads, so I bought them!!! lol!!! The tools were cut from the ODBD Custom 'Workshop Tools' dies and the ODBD Custom 'Tool Time' Dies, then tucked into the pocket which was raised with foam tape."
Here is a close up of the fussy cutting:
My third favorite was a birthday card for my nephew, who loves anything in camouflage and wants to be a soldier when he grows up. Here are the card details:
"My sample today features the new 'Pennant Row Alphabet', the ODBD Custom 'Pennant Row Dies' set, 'Special Boy', 'Fishing Net Background', ODBD Custom 'Pennants' Dies, ODBD Custom 'Stitched Ovals' Dies, and ODBD Custom 'Ovals' Dies. To create the cammo pennant, the ODBD Custom 'Pennant Row Die' was cut from Kraft cardstock, the letters from the 'Pennant Row Alphabet' were stamped on white with green, then trimmed by hand and adhered to the die cut piece. Using the same die, I traced the outline onto the cammo designer paper, then cut out by hand. Two little stars cut with the ODBD 'Sparkling Stars' Dies were the anchors for the ends. The monster truck from 'Special Boy' was stamped on white and also on the cammo paper; parts of the truck were colored with markers and the cammo section was cut out and paper-pieced onto the image. The banners were cut with the ODBD Custom 'Pennants' Dies, the army net background was stamped with the 'Fishing Net Background' stamp, and the scene behind the truck was sponged in kraft and aqua."

Palomino Beauties
Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Cheri aka cburry....congrats, Cheri!! I chose this fun card to recreate...loved the simple layout and I'm a sucker for a cloud background! For my card, the horse image from Saddle Up (by Our Daily Bread designs) was stamped onto a white panel and again on a small piece of white cardstock in order to fussy cut the image and pop it up for dimension. The flowers were colored, then clear-coated using a Glaze Pen. Once the glaze was dry, using masking, the grassy area was sponged in green (the glaze resisted the green ink); the clouds were sponged in aqua over a template created with the ODBD Custom Clouds and Raindrops Dies set. The same glaze resist technique was used on the horses' manes, tails, and other white portions; once the clear glaze was dry, caramel ink was sponged to create the Palomino look.

The designer paper and ivory panel were cut with the ODBD Custom 'Leafy Edged Borders' dies, then paper pierced (freehand on the curve but the straight lines were pierced with a template.)
