Five Cards for DTGD!!

Hi, everyone! I was able to complete all five Dare To Get Dirty Challenges today...woo hoo!  Once my work week starts up tomorrow, my stamping will nearly come to a halt and the woo hoo turns into a boo hoo! :)

My first card is for Nancy Littrell's challenge.  I wanted to make a simple card with a powerful message, so I chose the Prayer of St Francis by Our Daily Bread designs.  The background was created by swiping three ink pads onto a craft sheet, spritzing and blending them with water, then using a piece of white tissue paper to absorb the inks. A piece of white cardstock was turned into a sticker using a Xyron sticker maker so that I could adhere the tissue paper.  Once adhered, I used the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies to cut out the panel.  There were some tiny wrinkles but they were smooth enough to get a good stamped image.

My next card was created for the LMcAree challenge.  A small strip of white cardstock was stamped all over with the smallest watermelon image from the 'Thanks A Melon' set, then matted with Melon Mambo cardstock.  A simple sentiment was stamped and the melons were colored. I decided to leave it as-is and not add any embellishments.

Next is a bookmark which I made for the jacquelineA Challenge.  I started by cutting the scalloped panel with the ODBD Custom Bookmarks Dies out of a pretty pattern from the ODBD Shabby Rose Paper Collection then stamped a scripture verse from the 'Bookmarks-Scripture' set.  The designer paper was adhered to pink cardstock; the straight lines were trimmed with a paper cutter and the curved lines were fussy cut by hand.  Baker's twine was added after the hole was cut out.

My next card was created for the Nwilliams6 challenge.  The square panel was cut with the ODBD Custom Pierced Squares dies, then stamped with the Trois Jolies Papillon set (each butterfly was inked then 'stamped off' for a lighter image).  The chipboard butterfly was sprayed heavily with 'Patina' Glimmer Mist.  Once the glimmer was dry, the sentiment panel (stamped with the 'Be Joyful' set) was adhered to the back of the butterfly, and the piece was adhered to the card. Four pearls were added in the corners.

My last card was created for the LuvLee challenge.  All of the rectangles were cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies set; the smallest panel was stamped with the 'Honeycomb Mini' stamp; the scripture and bee are from the 'Bee Happy' set.  The medium panel was dry embossed then lightly inked in yellow.  Glitter pen was added to the bee's wings and yellow baker's twine to the sentiment panel.

Three Cards for DTGD Challenges

Hi, everyone!  If you are not a Fan Club member over at Splitcoast, you are missing out because this is Dare To Get Dirty challenge week!  Each day there are five new challenges, but the details are secret unless you are in the Fan Club. Find out more about the Fan Club HERE.

My first card is for Dina's challenge, which also doubles as a Sneak Peek for the upcoming August release from Our Daily Bread designs.  I have used the Golf Stamp/Die Duos set, along with the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Pennant Flag Dies, ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, and the ODBD Old Glory Paper Collection. For the flag, I adhered some strips of designer paper onto a small scrap of cardstock, then used the flag die to cut it out.  The scene was sponged using a scratch paper mask and the ODBD Custom Clouds and Raindrops Dies.

My second card is for Texas Grammy's challenge.  I will be mailing this out for a friend's birthday this week.  The 'Dahlia' image was stamped in Versamak, white embossed, then sponged with pink and lavender. The sentiment and Blessings die are from the ODBD 'Many Blessings' Stamp/Die Duos set.  Both rectangle panels were cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies set.  Two pink pearls were added in the corner.

My third card is for the StamperSandee challenge.  I broke out one of my fave Stampin Up sets, Unfrogettable, for this card. The image panel was cut out with the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies.  The frog and toadstools were stamped together using masking.  The grass was sponged over a scratch paper mask and the clouds were sponged over a template cut with the ODBD Custom Clouds and Raindrops Dies.  Once everything was colored, google eyes were added to the dragonfly and froggie. (Sorry about the splotchy coloring....I do not have blendable markers yet.)

Butterfly Hello

Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper is Joanne Allison aka Angelnorth....congrats, Joanne!!  I chose this amazing dragonfly card because of the cool watercolor background and wanted to step outside of my comfort zone to make something a little messy.  I started with a piece of watercolor paper, brushed plain water over it here and there, then touched a paintbrush with blue reinker to the water and the colors ran through.  I was going to use two colors, but the blue separated into lavender, so yay for me!!!  Some flecks from the paintbrush were added after the ink was done running.  Once the panel was dry, it was cut out with the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies.  The butterflies from 'Butterfly and Bugs' was stamped in Stazon Jet Black, then watercolored with the same blue ink.  The ODBD Custom Hello Die was added instead of stamping a sentiment.  I will also be submitting this to Lydia's Dare to Get Dirty challenge from Saturday, which is a secret unless you are a Fan Club member! :)

Sea Turtle Inspiration

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from a Rock Art Pinterest Board.....it was so tough to choose, but I finally settled on this awesome photo!  I bought this cool sea turtle stamp by Gray Wolf Graphics several months ago at the Indy stamp show and haven't had a chance to use it.  I dug through my box of misc stamps and found this Hero Arts sentiment which I haven't used in years.  I started by stamping the turtle in Brilliant Blue on a panel cut with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies; stamped it again on scratch paper to make a mask, and again on white cardstock so the shell could be cut out and popped up.  After masking the turtle, I used a stencil to create the background around it.  For the bottom panel, I inked up an embossing folder and used it as a stamp for a subtle swirly look without being too busy.  Along with the Inspiration Challenge, I will be submitting this to the DTGD17JustWriteDesigns challenge.  All of the Dare to Get Dirty challenges' details are a secret, unless you are a Fan Club member!!

Sand Between My Toes

Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Vicky White aka Miss Vicky.....congrats, Vicky!!  I fell in love with this beautiful sympathy card due to the masking, sponging, and spritzing and wanted to give it a try!  I began by cutting both the ivory panel and a mask with the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies set , sponged the exposed area then spritzed with a water bottle.  Once the water was dry, the image and sentiment from 'Sending You Sunshine' was stamped. I decided to add a little pop of color so the flags were colored red and some tiny hearts cut with the ODBD Custom Umbrellas Dies set were added.

Inspired Tropical Birthday

Photo from Cuaros Pinterest Board
Happy Saturday, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge is to find inspiration from the Cuaros Pinterest Board.....I just about fell outta my chair when I saw this amazing piece!!  I was hoping to find some inspiration to help me with my brother in law's birthday card and this was absolutely perfect!  The silhouettes and sentiment from 'Bon Voyage' were stamped in Stazon Jet Black (plus extra sponging in black at the bottom), a die from the ODBD Custom Circles Dies set was used for the mask and reverse mask for sponging the scene, then the panels were cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies.  I did not add any embellishments so that it would look like framed art.  I will also be submitting this to the July 'Time To Relax' Fan Club challenge....what's more relaxing than a tropical sunset?!

Sure and Steadfast

Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Cindy Weeks aka Weekend Warrior....congrats, Cindy!!  I chose this amazing card to recreate today using the 'Anchor' set and 'Nautical Paper Collection', both from Our Daily Bread designs. Since I used speckled cardstock, I did not add any splatters like Cindy's card. I chose not to add any gems so that it's not lumpy for mailing.

Happy Retirement, Mom!

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from the Jennifer McGuire Ink Blog....wow, what an awesome new discovery...no shortage of inspiration there!  I love all of her ink blending techniques and was drawn to this gorgeous card since it reminded me of a sunset.  My mom is retiring and I thought that a sunset paradise would be just right.  We have worked together for 26-1/2 years and I will sure will miss seeing her every day! (Pass the tissues!)  For her card, I stamped the silhouette and sentiment from the 'Bon Voyage' set with Stazon Jet Black; the sun was sponged using a cut-out from a circle die, then the sun was masked before sponging the background.  Since Mom loves Hawaii, I added a tropical flower cut with the ODBD Custom Frangipani Dies set. The frames were cut with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies. I will also be squeezing this in at the last minute to the Sunrise/Sunset Fan Club challenge.

Hi, everyone!  This is my second card for today's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast.....for this card I chose this delish photo.....I love the yellow and green color combo, plus the pattern, green trim and blue handle on the cup reeled me in!  For my card, I stamped the ODBD 'Chalkboard Fan Background' in yellow, cut out the panel with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies, then cut out the aperature with the ODBD Custom Ovals Dies.  The white panel was sponged using a piece of scratch paper for the water and the clouds were sponged over a template cut with the ODBD Custom Clouds and Raindrops Dies.  The image and sentiment are from the 'Aloha' set.  Two of the flowers were stamped on the bottom panel and one was stamped then cut out with the ODBD Custom Bird of Paradise Die to pop up over the frame. Stand Firm In The Faith

Photo from Pinterest Board: Dessert Bites: Macarons and Meringues
Happy Saturday, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is not only fun but super delicious!  We are to find inspiration from the Dessert Bites: Macarons and Meringues Pinterest Board......there are so many creative desserts there, but I fell in love with these adorable flamingos!! I just discovered a few days ago that I had purchased some 'Flirty Flamingo' cardstock so this is a perfect opportunity to use it! (I know I'm not the only stamper who buys things and forgets about them!)  Anyhoo.....I have used the 'Tickled Pink' set for the flamingos and scripture verse, cut the images out with the ODBD Custom Flamingos Dies, then popped them up with foam tape over a panel cut with the ODBD Custom Circle Scalloped Rectangles Dies.  The scripture panel was cut with the ODBD Custom Pierced Ovals Dies, matted with the ODBD Custom Ovals Dies. The scalloped panel needed a little somethin' somethin', so I added a black panel underneath and added a black pennant cut with the ODBD Custom Pennant Flags Dies to help balance out the colors. I didn't add any embellishments so that this would be easy to mail.

Cruisin' - Enjoy Every Moment!

Hi, everyone!  Today's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from any card playing idioms.....when I looked at the list, I saw 'Show Your Hand' and I knew what I wanted to do!  I love this photo of my hubby (who is 'showing his hand') from our recent cruise with our favorite bartender, Michael, in the background.  He made the best Bahama Mama's and Pina Coladas.....yeah, we're party animals alright! :)  I have used a mixture of new and previously released goodies from Our Daily Bread designs for this 6x6 layout:  sentiment and bird of paradise from 'Aloha', the ODBD Custom Bird of Paradise Die, ODBD Custom Ferns Dies, ODBD Custom Tropical Leaves Dies, ODBD Custom Pennant Flags Dies, ODBD Custom Bitty Borders Dies, Pennant Swag Alphabet, ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, and the ODBD Boho Bolds Paper Collection.

Everything Beautiful

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Beverly aka kraftyaunt.....congrats, Beverly!  I chose this gorgeous card because of the stunning colors, stitched dies and cool layout. For my card, I kept the green and yellow theme and layout, but chose to use the 'Chalkboard Vine Background' stamp instead of designer paper.  All of the panels were cut with the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, the scripture verse is from the 'Aloha' set, and the tropical flower was cut with the ODBD Custom Frangipani Dies set.

Flourish Like A Palm Tree

If you are looking for the July New Release party for Our Daily Bread designs, scroll down one post or click HERE.

***************************************************************************************************

Happy Saturday, everyone!!  This week's Inspiration Challenge is all about designer paper.  I chose a turquoise polka dot pattern from the ODBD Boho Bolds Paper Collection, cut it to 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 (same size as my card base), then centered and nested two dies from the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies.  The outside (leftover) rectangle was adhered to the inside of my card (you can see it peeking out). The silhouette and scripture verse from 'Bon Voyage' were stamped in Stazon Jet Black, the sky was sponged with blue, magenta, and tangerine. The polka dot frame was popped up with foam tape; the flower cut from the ODBD Custom Hibiscus Dies and ODBD Custom Ferns Dies was popped up in the corner. Two blue gems were added for a simple embellishment.  I will also be submitting this to the Sunrise/Sunset Fan Club Theme Challenge.
