Hi, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from Fine Gardening. This past week I stamped and cut out this 'Your Mercies' bible journaling stamp from Divinity Designs LLC to use with the new Slimline Dies but didn't have time to color and finish it. When I saw the yellow Trumpet Creeper flowers, they gave me the push I needed to get it finished. I had intended to color them purple like the wild ones I remember as a child, but these yellow beauties changed my mind! Here are the dies used: Slimline Card Base, Slimline Scalloped Rectangles, Slimline Rectangles, Slimline Layering Rectangles, Slimline Flower Petal Background, and Clouds and Raindrops (for the sponged clouds). The die cut background was popped up on foam tape over a white panel on which the Wrinkle Free Distress technique was used with yellow ink. Matching baker's twine was added for a simple embellishment.

Find Refuge / Gouache Watercolor
Hi, everyone! Today I stepped way out of my comfort zone and tried a new technique, for the Mixability Challenge over at Splitcoast, which was a bit messy and my fingers are stained....eek! (Next time I will wear rubber gloves! lol!) The technique is called 'Gouache Watercolor'.....since I do not own any Gouache paint, I created my own by mixing watercolor re-inkers with acrylic paint. With a wet sponge, the different colors of the hybrid paint mixtures were dabbed onto the panel. Since my hands were already messy, I created several more panels to use in the future. Once the panel was dry, it was cut out with the Divinity Designs Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies. The Friday Free4All Challenge theme at SCS is 'I might use this someday'......I dug into my scrap bin and found this 'Find Refuge' Bible Journal image, already cut out, plus a bunch of feathers. All I had to do was color them...yay!!

A Look Back at the ODBD January New Release
Hi, everyone! Today we are re-visiting this month's awesome releases from Our Daily Bread designs. This has been a super fun release to work with all month! Here are the new and previously released goodies which are featured in my two projects for today's post:
My first project for today is a card which features the new Bible Journaling stamp, 'His Timing'. Since I do not have a journaling Bible yet, I'm enjoying creating bookmarks and cards from these awesome stamps! I paired this stamp with the cool new ODBD Custom Steampunk Gears Dies since they fit the theme of the vintage clocks. I cut several gears out of scratch paper, glued the edges together and made my own stencil in order to sponge the background panel (cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies). Then, more gears were cut out of black and copper to place inside the frame cut out with the ODBD Custom Lavish Layers Dies. The gear dies were introduced last week along with the Artistic Outpost new releases. (Psst.....some of you may not know, but Our Daily Bread designs, North Coast Creations, and Artistic Outpost are sister companies. You can order from all three companies in one store, with only one shipping charge....check them out HERE!)
My second project is a "cookie basket" created with the ODBD Custom Bountiful Basket Dies. These little baskets are so fun and easy to make.....you can stamp them, use designer paper, or leave them plain....there are so many ways to decorate them!!! Since I had fresh toll-house cookies for my basket, I chose to use the 'Baking Tag Sentiments' (cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Ovals Dies), the Gingham Background stamp for the layers, and red brads to match the heart on the sentiment.
Please visit the ODBD Blog and my Designer Sisters' blogs for more inspiration:

Under His Wings
Happy Saturday, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from the 'Altered Diaries' Etsy site.......I thought that this journal was very cool and it reminded me of one of the new Bible Journaling stamps from Our Daily Bread designs, 'Find Refuge'. After my card was finished, I realized that I should have used banana cardstock instead of ivory for a better match to the inspiration photo, but what's done is done! :) Since the journaling stamp is 5-1/4 tall, there was not room to put designer paper at the top and bottom, so I put the strips down each side instead. The designer paper is from the ODBD Vintage Ephemera Paper Collection; the feathers were watercolored to coordinate with the paper. Some baker's twine was added to mimic book binding.

You Will Find Refuge
Hi, everyone! Today's Ways To Use It Challenge at Splitcoast is 'Something old, new, borrowed, and blue'. The old part is covered by the antique copper brads which I bought when I first discovered stamping. The new is the Bible Journal stamp, 'Find Refuge'. The borrowed part is the design which was borrowed from this awesome card by Marilyn....I love the eagle with just the blue sky and no scene...very powerful with the scripture verse! The blue part is the sponged sky. My card today is a birthday card for a co-worker who loves eagles. As soon as I saw the new Bible Journaling stamp, 'Find Refuge', from Our Daily Bread designs, I knew that I had to use the 'On Eagles' Wings' along with it. The scripture was stamped on a white panel which was cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies; the clouds were sponged over a template cut out with the ODBD Custom Clouds and Raindrops Dies; the eagle was fussy cut, colored, then popped up with foam tape over the rustic burlap-type ribbon. Three metal brads were added as a subtle embellishment without taking the attention off of the scripture and eagle.

* Sandy * Cathy * Dawn * Lori * Robin * Melissa * Julie * Sabrina * * Diana * Angie...that's me! * Chris * Grace * Lisa * Jan *
Here are the new and previously released items from Our Daily Bread designs which are featured in my two projects today:
My first project is an 8 x 8 scripture journal scrapbook page.....this is the 2nd page I've created for my scripture scrapbook.....see my first page HERE. For this page, I started by printing out the entire 6th chapter of Ephesians plus 2 other verses onto a piece of cardstock in my stash which resembled parchment. One it was trimmed to 8x8, the edges were torn and inked heavily with gray ink. The letters from the ODBD Custom Alphabet Dies set were cut and adhered at the top; the scripture from 'Full Armor' was stamped directly onto the page; the knight from 'Armor of God' was stamped on white cardstock, water-colored, fussy cut, then adhered onto the page which was matted with gray cardstock.
My second project is an A2 card which also features the 'Armor of God' and 'Full Armor' sets. The knight from 'Armor of God' was stamped three times on white cardstock so that different sections could be popped up for dimension. The scripture from 'Full Armor' was stamped on white, then each line was fussy cut, sponged with gray, then popped up with foam tape. The blue framing was cut out with the ODBD Custom 'Lavish Layers' Dies; the designer paper from the ODBD Americana Quilt Collection was cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies. Silver brads were added to two corners.
Thanks for hanging out with us today!
God bless!

My First Try At Bible Stamping
Hi, everyone! This week's Ways To Use It Challenge is to use book pages or print for your project. I am submitting this for the challenge since I actually stamped IN a book....a new bible for my nephew's 18th birthday. This was a little nerve-wracking since I had never done any bible journaling and was afraid that I would mess it up, but it turned out okay....whew! All three stamps are from Our Daily Bread designs: the eagle is from 'On Eagle's Wings', the verse is from 'Scripture Collection 1', and the mountain image is from 'Keep Climbing'.

Bible Bookmark
Hi, everyone! Today I would like to share another bookmark I will be submitting for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast. I literally gasped when I saw the amazing colors in these bath salts....so gorgeous! I made this with another of the new Bible journaling stamps by Our Daily Bread designs, called 'Your Heart'. Since this stamp was too long to use with the ODBD Custom Bookmarks Dies, I used one of the ODBD Custom Vintage Labels Dies to cut the top of the bookmark only.....see my tutorial on how I did this HERE....this is so easy, you won't believe it! Choose the die with the width you want, cut your paper strip so that it will fit within the die frame, then follow the instructions on the tutorial. Once my strip was die cut, stamped, and colored, I used a corner rounder at the bottom. I traced the top of the die onto aqua cardstock, cut by hand, trimmed the sides with a paper cutter and used a corner rounder for the bottom. This was so quick and easy that I will make more of these to give out at church!

Blessed Is The Nation
Happy Saturday, everyone!! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from the Uncommon Goods online store....I fell in love with the regal colors of this pedestal jewelry dish and thought that they would be perfect for a scripture bookmark with the 'The Nation' bible journaling stamp from Our Daily Bread designs. Since I do not own a journal-type bible, I have been having a blast making cards and bookmarks with the journaling stamps instead. I started by cutting a white bookmark with the ODBD Custom Bookmarks Dies set, stamped 'The Nation' in eggplant, colored with a yellow marker (and a clear glaze pen), then sponged navy blue onto the edges. For the mat, I traced the top of the bookmark die onto eggplant cardstock, cut the straight edges with a paper cutter, then trimmed the top and bottom by hand after adhering the bookmark.

Your Mercies Are New Every Morning
Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Gunilla aka gunilla.holmqvist. Congrats, Gunilla!!! Wow, what an amazing gallery....I'm in love with her creative clean and simple style!!! I chose this beautiful card to case....loved the cut out words, loved the aqua/purple/green color combo and the birdie was a perfect touch! I am using one of the new Bible journaling stamps from Our Daily Bread designs, Your Mercies, along with the greenery flourish from the Belles Vignes set around the edges. Since I do not have a journaling Bible, I have been creating bookmarks and cards with the journaling stamps. The Your Mercies stamp was stamped twice in Stazon; the largest bird and all of the words were fussy cut and popped up for dimension onto the rectangle base which was sponged in aqua and the 'Belle Vignes' vines stamped on the edges. The dimensions of this card are 6 x 3-1/2...good thing I have lots of 12x12 cardstock in my stash!

Mint Chocolate Refuge
Happy Saturday, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from a Winter White Pinterest board......I fell in love with the color combo from this photo of hot cocoa, so I used mint green, espresso brown, and a touch of light blue in my card. The 'My Refuge' stamp is one of seven new Bible Journaling stamps from Our Daily Bread designs. Since I do not have a journaling Bible, I made a card instead. The stamp was inked in mint green, then the scripture was colored in brown with a marker before stamping onto white. Once the panel was trimmed, light blue and brown were sponged around the edges. The border die is from the ODBD Custom Beautiful Borders Dies set and the little flowers on the card base were stamped with the Boho Love set. To mimic the cocoa sprinkles from the photo, some brown ink was spritzed over the image.
