Hi, everyone!! This week over at Splitcoast, there were quite a few fun challenges which I did not want to miss, so I have combined them in the making of a birthday card for my sister-in-law, plus a card for a dear friend who is having some health issues.
For my first card, I have used Sketch Challenge 520, plus this week's Color Challenge of Black, White, and Hello Honey. Since I do not have the newest SU colors yet, I used So Saffron which was the closest color I had on hand. The background was stamped with the ODBD Gingham Background stamp, the image from 'Bee Happy' was stamped in So Saffron, then the scripture was overstamped in black. The little bee, also from 'Bee Happy', was stamped, colored, then cut out with the ODBD Custom 'Zinnia and Leaves' Dies set.
The Sketch Challenge 520 (at the top left) could be interpreted in a lot of fun ways.....I chose to use the sketch again but used a heart in the center instead of a circle. Today's Inspiration Challenge is to find a color combo from The Perfect Palette blog....I fell in love with these Homespun Colors....yummy! The Ways to Use It Challenge is to create a Thank You card and the Friday Free 4 All Challenge is 'A CASE of admiration'....case a fellow stamper who encourages and inspires you. I chose this beautiful card by my ODBD design team sister, Cheryl Scrivens aka CherylQuilts. Cheryl is one of the sweetest human beings I have ever known and gives so much of herself to others. Her comments to all are so encouraging and wow, her creativity is inspiring in itself. I am blessed to call her friend.....what an amazing Christian woman!!! (Love you, Cheryl dear!!!) For my card, I have used the ODBD Custom 'Ornate Hearts' Dies, corner dies from the ODBD Custom 'Ornate Borders and Flower' Dies, scripture verse from the 'Thank You' stamp set, and 'lots of hugs' stamp from the 'Mini Tag Sentiments' set, paper from the 'Heart and Soul Paper Collection', all from Our Daily Bread designs.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Glistening Snow and Super Saver Sale!
Hello!!! This week's Clean and Simple Challenge at Splitcoast is to case a project from Janeen's wonderful gallery......I chose this beautiful card since I had not tried this technique before. I used snowflakes instead of leaves, but kept the same layout with three strips and a sentiment at the bottom corner. The strips were cut from three different patterns in the Our Daily Bread designs Winter Paper Collection 2014, the snowflakes were cut away from the designer paper using the ODBD Custom Snowflakes Dies, then a punched snowflake was added to the top of each. The sentiment is from 'Snowflake Sentiments', also by ODBD. Silver stickles were added to the punched snowflakes and across the top of the card.
Before I go, just wanted to make sure that you knew about the Super Saver Sale going on at Our Daily Bread designs, North Coast Creations, and Artistic Outpost. For each store, following the directions below:

Navy Snowflakes
Hello!!! Hope you are enjoying your Sunday!! I did a little stamping before church this morning, to help in celebrating this week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast. Big congrats to Myrna Sweet aka mjs1033!! I chose this beautiful card to case.....loved the one layer, loved the sponged strip plus the overstamping was really cool!! Instead of leaves and fall colors, I masked then sponged a strip of Pool Party, stamped snowflakes in navy blue, then white embossed more snowflakes with white embossing powder. The sentiment is from 'Snowflake Sentiments'; the snowflakes are from 'Snowflake Mini Set' and 'Sparkling Snowflakes', all stamps are by Our Daily Bread designs. To finish, I added some matching baker's twine and some stickles to the snowflakes.

Celebrating You, Tenia!!!!!
Happy Saturday, everyone!!! This week's Queen for the Day is the jazzy and fabulous Tenia Sanders-Nelson.....congrats, Tenia!!!!! Tenia has the most fun and creative style!!! Check out her blog here! It is an absolute honor to help Tenia to celebrate this week!!! I chose this awesome card to case because I loved the cool layout. I did a masculine version, to create a birthday card for a friend, and I did not do the "off the page" technique since I wanted it to fit inside a normal envelope. Today's Inspiration Challenge helped me with the color scheme...I chose these olive soaps....I loved the blue and gray colors and texture of the natural ribbon! Once I got to my stamp room, I realized that I couldn't match the colors exactly, but did the best I could. I started with Naturals White cardstock, designer paper with smoky blues, and cotton ribbon which I trimmed down the center to create a smaller edging. The stamps are from North Coast Creations, called 'King of the Road' and the designer paper is from Our Daily Bread designs, the 'Blooming Garden Collection'.

My first sample features the "Dump Truck Birthday" set. The image was stamped onto both red and blue cardstock, then fussy cut and paper-pieced together. Glossy Accents was added to the body and hubs for the appearance of a real paint job. The banner was stamped and cut out by hand since I did not have a die of the right size. The designer paper is from Our Daily Bread designs, called the Patriotic Paper Collection.
My second card features the "I Dig You" set. The background scene is from the previously released "Barn" single, also from North Coast Creations. I thought it would be the perfect backdrop for the tractor image. I stamped half of the sentiment on the front, added three dots, then stamped the second half of the sentiment on the inside.

Anchor the Soul
Happy Hump Day, everyone!! Today's Sketch Challenge and yesterday's Color Challenge (Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip) over at Splitcoast forced me to stamp this morning before work....teehee!!!! The image (and little anchor) from 'Anchor the Soul' (by Our Daily Bread designs) were inked in Pool Party, thumped with a Crumb Cake Marker, stamped onto ivory cardstock, edges sponged, then paper pierced. The little tag was cut from the ODBD Custom Mini Tags Dies set and tied onto the panel with baker's twine.

Red, White, and Blue Birthday
Hi, everyone! I needed a quick card to pop in the mail today and Splitcoast's Inspiration Challenge gave me the inspiration!! I chose this awesome card from Papyrus Online....the two different patterns and layout were just perfect!! The designer paper I used is from the ODBD Patriotic Paper Collection, the sentiment is from Flourished Verses, cut out with the ODBD Custom Pennants Dies set, and the little stars were cut out with the ODBD Custom Sparkling Stars Dies. I only had one postage stamp left, so the card needed to be flat, so I did not add any ribbon or extra embellishments.

I chose this beautiful card to recreate using a verse from Scripture Collection 10, the cross of nails image from a new set, 'Admit One', and the postage stamp die from the new ODBD Custom 'Mini Tags' Dies, all from Our Daily Bread designs. I kept Nancy's design (including the distressed edges which are out of my comfort zone!) but added piercing, a bow, and pearls in the corners.

The Gate of the Lord
Happy Saturday!! Hope you all had a very blessed Thanksgiving!! After a couple of days of "down time", today is the day for stamping!! Yesterday's Friday Free 4 All Challenge at Splitcoast was to use your 'leftovers', any embellishments you've had for a long time...I have an entire storage container full of pearls which I bought five or six years ago, plus I dug in to my hoarded stash and chose one of my fave designer papers from the Memory Box 'Butterfield' collection. I have combined today's Inspiration Challenge, which is to find inspiration from the 'Sur La Table' online store.....I chose these nested planters, which reminded me of an iron gate. For my card, the gate was cut out of metallic cardstock with the ODBD Custom 'Gilded Gate' Die Set, the scripture verse is from 'The Gate', (both will available from Our Daily Bread designs on Dec 1). I did not want to cover up the gorgeous paper too much, so only added piercing, a few die cut clouds, and pearls for embellishments.

Hi, everyone!!! Today's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Audrie aka girlgeek101.....congrats, Audrie!!!! Audrie is the hostess each Saturday for the Inspiration Challenge (my fave!) and has the most amazing, creative gallery which is full of a wide range of styles and techniques!! I chose this gorgeous card to recreate....I loved the framed cutout and the simple but powerful design to help me create another Thanksgiving card to mail out this week for some dear friends. The Fall Flower Pumpkin was stamped onto ivory, cut out with the ODBD Custom Pumpkin and Flowers Die, colored with markers, then popped up over a designer paper panel from the ODBD 'Rustic Beauty Collection'. The sentiment is from the 'Doily Blessings' set and the seam binding ribbon was tied with a Bow Easy.

Copper Embossed Leaves
Happy Saturday, everyone!!! Today's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast will definitely make you hungry.....we are to find inspiration from the Harry and David site.....yummy!!!! I fell in love with this harvest cookie bouquet and had to make a Thanksgiving card! My card's layout comes from this beautiful card by Dianne aka Sarahebo, who was just dubbed Queen for the Day....congrats, Dianne!!! For my card, I used the following items from Our Daily Bread designs: leaves and acorns from the Autumn Blessings set, cut out with the ODBD Custom Fall Leaves and Acorn Dies, the Leaves Background stamp, and sentiment from Serve The Lord (retired). The images, background, and sentiment were all embossed in copper, then colored with sponge daubers in inks which matched the inspiration piece.
