Have a Sweet Day!

Hi, everyone!  Today I have a "sweet" card I would like to share with you.  This is a birthday card I made using the "What's The Scoop?" set by North Coast Creations.  To create the Neopolitan triple scoop, the ice cream  scoop was stamped onto vanilla, light pink, and cocoa.....the cone was stamped on caramel cardstock.  All of the pieces were cut out and popped up over a panel which was scored with my Scor-buddy.  The cherry was stamped, colored with markers, cut out, then added Ranger Glossy Accents.  Paper piercing, grosgrain ribbon, and cocoa colored pearls were added as finishing touches.

Proud to be an American (ODBD Sneak Peek!)

Hi, everyone!  This week's Clean and Simple Challenge over at Splitcoast is to feature feathers on your clean and simple card....I hope that it's okay that my feathers are attached to an eagle!  This is a perfect opportunity to share a sneak peek of another June 1st release by Our Daily Bread designs, called "Home of the Free".  The die cuts are from the ODBD Exclusive "Elegant Ovals" die set.  After embossing the middle section of my card with the stars, I scored lines above and below with my Scor-buddy to give it a finished look without causing the design to be too busy.  I chose not to use ribbon for the same reason.  In this case, I felt that less was more.

I will also be submitting this card in the CAS-usual Fridays "Red, White, and Blue" Challenge and the Pink Elephant "Stars and Stripes" challenge.

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Walk In The Truth (ODBD Sneak Peek!)

Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is the talented Vicki Burdick aka justcrazy.....congrats, Vicky!!!!  I chose this adorable card to re-create using an new June 1st release by Our Daily Bread designs called "Precious Girl".  I love making one layer cards when I can....they are not easy for me, but with Vicki's inspiration, I was able to pull it off (though the layout was reversed).  The little girl's gown was paper-pieced using the ODBD Gingham Background stamp.

Stay tuned tomorrow.....I will have another sneak peek from Our Daily Bread designs......this time it will be for a new patriotic set!

Hello, My Friend!

Happy Saturday, everyone!  Today's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to choose an item from the Etsy store, jennspendants.  I chose this beautiful Bird Necklace Scrabble Tile Pendant.....I absolutely love pink and green together!  These colors reminded me of some Pink Paislee designer paper in my stash which I have been hoarding.  The design of the card I borrowed  from this gorgeous card by  Emily aka Stamp Muse, who was crowned Queen For The Day this week......congrats, Emily!

ODBD "Cathedral Window Marble", "Sentiment Collection 2", Card designer Angie Crockett

The three "faux pendants" on my card were stamped with the ODBD Cathedral Window - Marble stamp, then the individual sections were cut out, colored, and framed with a Creative Memories punch which I have had for many years but have not used before.  The sentiment is from the ODBD "Sentiments Collection 2" set.

Before I sign off, just wanted to let you know that Our Daily Bread designs will be discontinuing quite a few stamp sets and you can pick them up, while supplies last, at a 40% discount......check them out HERE on the Retired/Clearance page.

Have a beautiful weekend!!

Girls Love Fishing Too!

Hi, everyone!  Happy Friday!!  This week's Shining the Light Challenge over at the Our Daily Bread designs Blog is "Sky or Water.....easy peasy with this month's Fishing theme! Today's Friday Free4All Challenge at Splitcoast is to repeat an item on your project.  Though I was not able to repeat my stamps here, I did use multiple strands of Baker's Twine, plus I added a second coral button at the top corner to match the other button.  This week's Clean and Simple Challenge is "That Smells Good" (ocean air!). This is a birthday card for a dear friend of mine who belongs to a ladies fishing club.  Who says outdoor stamps have to be for guy cards only?!  The image is from "The Waves on the Sea"; the sentiment is from "Fishing", both from Our Daily Bread designs.

I need to thank one of my dear sweet "Sistah Sticks", Diana Nguyen, who inspired me with a gorgeous card (which is not in her gallery as of yet).....the sponged strip with the image going above and below was ingenious....thanks, Diana!!!

Thanks for visiting today!  Tomorrow is the first day for sneak peek projects for Our Daily Bread designs June sets.....yay!!  I hope to have something ready for you!

For my first sample, I have used the new "You're The Bomb" set!!!

North Coast Creations "You're The Bomb"

This is an anniversary card for my hubby......tomorrow is our 21st Anniversary!  After cutting out and coloring the popsicles, I covered them (and the little heart) with Ranger Glossy Accents.  I'm so proud of myself that I was able to let them dry for a couple of hours without "testing" them to see if they were dry.....I have ruined so many projects due to impatience!! :)  The background was stamped with the "Wood Background" from NCC's parent company, Our Daily Bread designs.  I love how easy it is to mix and match the stamps from both companies!!

North Coast Creations "You're The Bomb" Card Designer Angie Crockett

Our next super fun set is "What's the Scoop?"  Who doesn't like ice cream, right?!  I plan to use both of these new sets for kid cards, however, I have quite a few adults in mind as well!

North Coast Creations "What's the Scoop"

My second sample today is a Mint-Chocolate Chip treat created with the "What's The Scoop?" set......I LOVE this set.....it makes me silly and giggly!!!!  I used masking to create the layered look.....when you do masking, make sure you cut your mask just inside the lines, so that when you stamp the next piece, the stamped lines will match up with no gaps.  The ice cream and cone were colored with sponge daubers and the chocolate pieces were cut from brown cardstock and glued on randomly. The background was stamped with the "Gingham Background" stamp from Our Daily Bread designs.....who needs designer paper when you have great background stamps?!

Thanks for hanging out with us today!  Hope you have enjoyed all of the fun projects!!!  For more samples, visit the Samples Gallery at North Coast Creations!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hi, everyone!  Thanks to a bunch of fun challenges this weekend, I was able to create all three of my Mother's Day cards in one evening......one for Mom, my step-mom, and mother-in-law.  The Our Daily Bread designs Shining the Light Challenge is to use four out of five letters of S.P.R.I.N.G......S=sunflowers, P=paper piercing, R=replicated (it's a case, plus I made three), I = insects, N=nature, G= glitter pen.  This week's Queen For The Day at Splitcoast is Sandy aka Stampingwriter.....what a fun gallery....I chose this beautiful CAS card to re-create.  The Friday Free 4 All Challenge is all about Mother's Day.  I didn't have a clue what I was going to use for my Mother's Day cards until I saw the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast....choose an item from Wedding Decor....I chose this honey scented soap set as inspiration.

The little bee on the front is from the "Happy Mother' Day" set, but ODBD now has a matching "Stamped By" single stamp for the back of our cards.....love it!!!  This one is the "Bee Mini"The Mom sentiment on the ODBD Elegant Ovals panel is from the "Mom" set and if you look close, you can see the Honeycomb Background stamp on the yellow card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Happy Mother's Day and God bless!

Serenity

Hi, everyone!  I used the  Shining The Light S-P-R-I-N-G Word challenge over at the Our Daily Bread designs Blog (S=shaped card, P=Paper Piercing, R=rounded edges, I=Ink, N=Nautical, G = 'Guy Card' to create a birthday card for my hubby's uncle. The general layout is from the Sketch Challenge at Splitcoast and I have also used the Ways To Use It Challenge which is to "Discover It".....I believe this is the first time I have used this color combo....baby blue and Antique Linen....I wasn't sure about it when I started, but I'm pretty pleased at how it turned out!

ODBD "The Waves On The Sea" and "Fishing Net Background" Designer Angie Crockett

The card base and main panel were cut out using Spellbinders Labels Eight and the side panels were cut with Labels One.  The stamps I have used are "The Waves On The Sea" and "Fishing Net Background" by Our Daily Bread designs.....I am in LOVE with these new sets!!

On the back of the card, I stamped the "Swirly Bird Mini" stamp and signed my name.  Our Daily Bread designs now has a large collection of "Stamped By" stamps using some images from past sets, plus several new images too!!

Father's Day Fishing Boat

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Gayatri Murali aka Scrapawayg3.....congrats, Gayatri!!!!  I chose this beautiful card as inspiration for this Father's Day card.....I will be making two more just like it.....one for dad, step-dad, and father in law.  I should be more creative and make originals for each dad, but this way I can remember what card I made for them last time!

ODBD "Waves on the Sea" and "Fishing Net" Background , Card Designer Angie Crockett

The fishing boat image and sentiment are from the "Waves On The Sea" set; the "Fishing Net" Background was stamped both on the card base and the cork layer.....both the set and background are new this month from Our Daily Bread designs.

Quatrefoil Blessings!

Hi, everyone!  After a couple of crazy-busy weeks, I am so happy to play along in a challenge this morning!  The Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast is to choose an item from the YUMMY Godiva Chocolate online store, so I chose these sunflower chocolate decorations for my inspiration.  I used the Quatrefoil Pattern Design die from Our Daily Bread designs along with a sentiment from the Sweet William - Small set.  The Prima flower was ivory, but a few sprays of 'Lemon Zest' Glimmer Mist gave me just the color I wanted. The "Fanciful Flourish" swirl by Cheery Lynn Designs was in leu of the olive ribbon in the photo. The white pearl center of the flower was replaced by some cocoa colored pearls by Zva Creative.  When it was all put together, I used my fave 'Pearl' Glimmer Mist all over.

ODBD Cathedral Window - Marble
ODBD Exclusive Spellbinders Cathedral Window and Border Dies

For my project today, I have used the Cathedral Window - Marble stamp and the ODBD Exclusive Spellbinders Cathedral Window And Border Dies set.  The window stamp was stamped multiple times in versamark on white cardstock, then embossed with clear embossing powder, then colored with a sponge dauber in pink and accented with a pink marker.  Four window frames total were cut out with the custom die set, two of which were hand trimmed for the side of the Center-step design, the other two make up the "door". (I had to cut two separate frames so that the swinging door had a frame top edge and the top arched piece also had a framed edge at the bottom.)    The sentiment at the bottom, plus the stamped frame are from the "Mini Tags 1' set.  For the finishing touches, Zva Creative pearls and roses were added, along with some Cheery Lynn Designs 'Fanciful Flourish' small and large and satin ribbon.  To learn how to create a center-step design, check out the tutorial HERE on the ODBD Blog.

(For those of you wondering, the photo is my own wedding photo from twenty-one years ago! Oh, to be so young and HOT again! lol!!!!)
