Thanksgiving Blessings

Our Daily Bread designs "Give Thanks", "Wood Background" Designer Angie Crockett

Hi everyone! Today I would like to share a super quick and easy card I made using the Spellbinders Nested Maple Leaves die set, the "Square Lattice" embossing folder by Stampin Up/Sizzix, plus the "Wood Background" stamp and "Give Thanks" set by Our Daily Bread designs. Before cutting, the cardstock pieces were embossed with the Square Lattice embossing folder, then cut out with the dies. The edges were sponged and then I added foam tape to the back of the leaves to stack them up. This was both fun and easy and I can't wait to do another like it!

I will also be submitting this card to the following challenges:

Red, White, Blue, and Gold Olympic Butterflies!

Hi everyone!  Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!!!

I have a fun card to share with you today.  My niece is having an Olympics themed birthday party, so I wanted to use red, white, blue, and gold for her birthday card, plus I wanted to try using negative die cuts for this.  This week's Queen For The Day over at Splitcoast is Loll Thompson.....she is extremely talented and creative....I LOVE everything in her gallery,  but my fave creations of hers are with the "negative die cuts", such as this beautiful card!  If you cruise her awesome gallery, you will see page after page of gorgeousness and creativity! Congrats, Loll, you are definitely a stamping queen in my book!!!

I knew I wanted to use the stars (Creative Memories) and stripes (Moxxie) designer papers along with the gold mirror paper and Cheery Lynn Designs butterfly die,  but I struggled with the design until I saw the sketch at Operation Write Home.  I used a bow instead of a sentiment, and really loved the open space at the right so that the emobssed red mirror paper wouldn't be covered up.  The patriotic butterfly ribbon I found in the $1 bin at Michael's last year....isn't it cute?!

I will also be submitting this card in the following challenges:
Speedy the Fox Friends' Challenge: Use fave technique....paper piercing all the way!!! ( For straight edges, I use a Stampin Up template, for shapes I pierce freehand....see my piercing tutorial HERE);
Raise the Bar: Anything with wings;
Craft Your Passion: Use past challenge...I chose #89 Things With Wings.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: None on outside;
Cardstock: Stampin Up Crumb Cake and Whisper White;
Designer Paper: Mirror Paper (brand unknown)...purchased from Our Daily Bread designs Show Booth, Stars designer paper from Creative Memories, Striped designer paper by Moxxie;
Accessories: Cheery Lynn Designs Exotic Butterflies Small, Bow Easy, Michael's ribbon, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Zva Creative Pearls, paper piercer and template, foam tape;
Size: A2.
Thanks for stopping by today!  God bless!

You Have Blessed My Life!

Hi everyone!  Happy Saturday!!!  This morning I was happy to be able to play in the Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast....one of my fave challenges! The challenge is to choose an item from "French Garden House"......I chose this adorable blue birdie (cappuccino) cup to make a birthday card for my niece.  I'm also excited to be using some brand-spanking-new Spellbinder dies...yay!!  The fancy-cut panel was cut with Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight and the adorable teacup is from "Nested Teacups".  The card was cut out with the Spellbinders Labels Eight, using my Grand Calibur....learn how to cut shaped cards HERE.  Since a lot of teacups have a golden edge or detailing, I used some Smooch paint to line the edges of the cup and all of the decorative cuts from the main panel. I created a "faux teabag" for my sentiment by stamping, scoring, folding, sponging, then stapling some thread in between. Please click on the photo for a close-up.

All Sorts: Layers (I have four total);

"Keep Climbing" Reflection Card

Hi everyone!  Today I would like to share a fun reflection card I made with the new "Keep Climbing" set by Our Daily Bread designs.  A couple of years ago, I bought a "reversing stamp" from Repeat Impressions at a craft show, and I had to dig it out from my stash to create this reflection scene.  Some stamps are easy to create a reflection, such as trees or items which are fairly symmetrical, however this scene was a bit different.  A "reversing stamp" is a large rubber stamp which is totally flat.  Ink up your stamp, stamp it onto the reversing stamp, then quickly stamp the reversing stamp onto the paper.  I would suggest practicing a few times in order to get it just right.....and make sure your ink pad isn't dry or there won't be enough ink to transfer. After your reflection is just right, then carefully link up the original stamp (I use a Stamp-a-ma-jig stamp positioner), and stamp it above the reflection.  Now you're ready to cut and finish your panel!
I will be submitting this card for the following challenges:
Perfect Sentiments: All Creatures Great and Small (eagle);
Papertake Weekly: Anything Goes, with the option of a non-square card base;
Crafty Cardmakers: Winged Things (eagle);
All Sorts: Anything But Square;
Crafty Pad: Anything but Square.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Keep Climbing';
Cardstock: Stampin Up 'Creamy Caramel' (retired) and 'Whisper White';
Designer Paper: Bo Bunny 'Welcome Home';
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Stampin Up 'Always Artichoke', 'Bashful Blue', 'Apricot Appeal', 'Creamy Caramel';
Accessories: Spellbinders Grand Labels One, Basic Grey Button, Stampin Up Linen Thread and Word Window Punch, paper piercer (freehand piercing), sponge daubers, foam tape;
Size: Approx 5-1/2 x 5-1/2.

Operation Write Home Holiday Challenge Cards!

Hi everyone! Still working on the Operation Write Home challenges from the weekend! It seems that I'm usually out of town for the "stamping holidays", like World Scrapbooking Day or World Card-making Day, etc., so it's been fun to be a part of an event like this, especially when our troops will be blessed by it!
Our Daily Bread designs "Angel" Designer Angie Crockett
Both of these cards today are for Sybrina's challenge, which is to create a holiday card for one of our Heroes, plus create a holiday card which can be mailed home to a child.
I will also be submitting this to the Crafty Cardmakers "Winged Things" Challenge and the Aud Sentiments Christmas Challenge.
Our Daily Bread designs "Angel" Designer Angie Crockett
Card 'Ingredients' for the Angel card:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Angel';
Cardstock: Stampin Up Mellow Moss;
Designer Paper: Memory Box 'Mistletoe';
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Stampin Up Inks and Markers (the angel's gown was colored with a sponge dauber and burgundy ink);
Accessories: Zva Creative Pearls, paper piercer and template;
Size: A2.
Our Daily Bread designs "Warm Wishes" Designer Angie Crockett
 Since I don't have many stamps for children (other than dinosaurs and dump trucks!), I used the Our Daily Bread designs "Warm Wishes" set for this one. Even though Stickles are allowed, I know that the glitter can still rub off at times, so I decided to do a bit of sponging instead, and leave it plain.

Cowboy Kid for OWH Challenge

Hi everyone! Here is another card for the Operation Write Home Virtual Card Making Party! If you'd like to play along, visit the Master Challenge Thread HERE! Sandy's challenge is to create a western-style card with a cowboy or horse on it.

Stampin Up Set Unknown Designer Angie Crockett

The pieces of this card were already stamped (from a Stampin Up stamp camp several years ago...eek!), but not assembled, so I'm not sure of the stamp set name. How about an explanation: well, you see, I stamp at a pace slower than a snail, so any time I go to a stamp camp, I usually have to take my pieces home to finish them!!! Sad, huh? So.....I added some paper piercing and gold star stickers and put this baby together!

Thanks for visiting!  Have a very blessed day!

Our Daily Bread designs "Lilac"

Our Daily Bread designs "Lilac" Designer Angie Crockett

My card sample for today features the "Lilac" set.  The background was stamped with the Lilac image, using Versamark ink.  For the focal point, the Lilac image was stamped onto Kraft cardstock, using Stazon Jet Black ink, then the panel was cut out using a Spellbinders Oval Nestabilities die.  An extra image was stamped then cut out with paper snips and my craft knife so that it could be popped up with foam tape.  The Lilac blossoms, leaves, and stems were "painted" with bleach, using a fine paintbrush,  in order to create a lighter color.  Once the cardstock was dry, the blossoms only were "dotted" with a Signo White Gel Pen.  To finish, the oval was matted with a Spellbinders Lacey Oval die, then some paper piercing was added.   May Arts Crocheted Lace and Satin Ribbon (bow was tied with a Bow Easy), and some Zva Pearls were the final embellishments.  I may attach a sentiment tag at a later time, or I may leave it as is....who knows?!

Our Daily Bread designs "Lilac" Designer Angie Crockett

Just thought I'd throw in a photo of my lilacs......these are why I chose white for my card today!
