Hello, everyone! Today we are looking back at the awesome August Mid-Month release from Our Daily Bread designs! To see more gorgeous samples, check out the ODBD Blog, or better yet, visit my designer sisters' blogs below:

Here are all of the products from Our Daily Bread designs used in my two samples for today:
My first project is a 6x6 scrapbook page which was built around this awesome photo from my mom and step-dad's vacation to the Alabama shore. When I first saw the new 'By the Sea' stamp set with the cool pelican, I immediately thought of this photo! The background scene is a piece of designer paper from the ODBD By The Shore Paper Collection; the edges were distressed, torn, and inked, then pieces of a recycled onion bag were tucked between the layers and under the photo panel. The photo and sentiment panel were both cut with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies set; the letters were cut with the ODBD Custom Alphabet Dies and numbers cut with the ODBD Custom Numbers Dies.
My second project is an A2 card which features the 'Thanks a Melon' set, coordinating ODBD Custom Watermelon Dies, ODBD Custom Fence Die, ODBD Custom Clouds and Raindrops Dies, ODBD Custom Grass Lawn Die (available Sept.1), ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, and the ODBD Boho Bolds Paper Collection. The watermelons were stamped, cut out with the custom dies, colored with markers, layered over the die cut grass and fence. The sky was sponged over a template cut from the ODBD Custom Clouds and Raindrops Dies, then two clouds were popped up with foam tape for added dimension.

On My Mind, In My Heart
Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Mary Deatherage aka Stamps-n-lingers (what a fun username!)....congrats, Mary!!! I chose this beautiful card to re-create since I LOVE to mask and sponge backgrounds! I used the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies set to cut both my main panel and the mask over which I sponged the olive and blue ink. Once the sponging was done, I taped down the same die and embossed with it to create the pierced border. The wildflower silhouette and sentiment are from the 'Miss You' set, also by Our Daily Bread designs. This is a 'thinking of you' card for my sister's father-in-law who sadly is in hospice care.

What's the Scoop?
Happy Saturday, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge is to create a project based on one of the delicious items from Harry and David....I chose these fun cake pops as inspiration to create this birthday card for my nephew. I loved the cake pop cones and fun sprinkles, so I created an ice cream cone which looked the same. This fun set from North Coast Creations is called 'What's the Scoop?'. The cone was stamped on caramel cardstock; the ice cream scoop was stamped on dark brown cardstock, cut out, covered in Glossy Accents, then beads were sprinkled over the top to mimic the cake pops. The designer paper is from the ODBD Birthday Bash Paper Collection.
Thanks so much for visiting with me today!

Everything Is Better By The Sea
Hi, everyone! Today I have a very quick and easy card to share. The pelican and sentiment from 'By The Sea' were stamped in teal, panels cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles and ODBD Custom Pierced Ovals Dies, sponged with kraft ink while still in the dies, then layered over a piece of designer paper from the ODBD 'By The Shore' Paper Collection. The little pennant was trimmed by hand, then stamped with the 'Rope Background'. Some linen thread and button were added for embellishments. This is a birthday card for a co-worker. I love images like this which look great without coloring...score for me!! :)

Hope Anchors The Soul
Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper is Donna Idlet aka didlet...congrats, Donna!!! I chose this awesome masculine card to case. I have used the following items from Our Daily Bread designs in the making of my card: You Anchor Me Stamp/Die Duos, Rope Background, ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies, ODBD Custom Pierced Circles Dies, Nautical Paper Collection, and the ODBD Custom 'Faith, Hope, and Love' Dies. The anchor was cut out , stenciled with navy, then adhered over the circle which was stamped off then stamped with the Rope Background in kraft ink. Some red hemp twine was added to balance the red elements in the card.
Here is a view of the inside, with the continued message. Since the 'Hope' word die was used on the front, the word 'Hope' from the stamp was masked so that only the 2nd and 3rd line would appear. The tiny anchor at the bottom is from the 'Anchor the Soul' set.

Our Daily Bread designs August Mid-Month New Release!
Hi, everyone! Welcome to a special Mid-Month Release from Our Daily Bread designs!!! The team is super excited about this entire release and we know that you will love it as well.....see the entire mid-month release HERE. If you'd like a chance to win some goodies, follow the instructions below:
* Cathy * Dawn * Lori * Julie * Melissa * Angie (me!)* * Sabrina * Robin * Diana *
Here are the new and previously released products featured in my two samples today:
For my first project, the fun palm tree designer paper was cut out from the 'By The Shore' Paper Collection with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies (the bottom pennant shape was cut by hand). The two circles were cut with the ODBD Custom Pierced Circles Dies. The sandcastle from 'Sending You Sunshine' was stamped, cut out with the ODBD Custom Sandcastle Die, then popped up with foam tape over the scene which was sponged over scratch paper; the clouds were sponged over a template created with the ODBD Custom Clouds and Raindrops Dies. I wanted the sentiment to be curved, so I placed a piece of double sided tape on the acrylic block and manipulated the stamp into a curve before stamping. (If you try this, make sure that you clean off the tape residue right away from your stamp and block.)
My second project features a fun anchor pattern from the 'Nautical' Paper Collection along with the 'You Anchor Me' Stamp/Die Duos set and oldie but goodie 'Fish Background' stamp. The anchor was cut out of kraft, navy, and red, then adhered together for dimension. The rectangle framing and large panel was cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies set. Some knotted baker's twine was added to bring out more of the red from the designer paper.
Thanks for hanging out with us today!!
Blessings,

Double Feature for Featured Stamper
Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is amymay98....congrats, Amy!! I couldn't decide on just one card, so I created two!! My first card was cased from this beautiful CAS design. I used an upcoming set from Our Daily Bread designs (Aug. 17), called 'Thanks a Melon', the ODBD Custom Watermelon Dies set, along with the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies for both cutting and dry embossing.
My second card was based on this awesome monochromatic card.....I loved the simple but striking layout! For this card, I have used the 'Sending You Sunshine' set by Our Daily Bread designs (avail. Aug. 17), along with the 'Rope Background', ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies and ODBD Custom Pierced Squares dies. The image and sentiment were stamped in Stazon Timber Brown, then Baked Brown Sugar was used to color and sponge the scene. The wavy thread is actually thick baker's twine which was unwoven into three strands. I originally chose to unwind it so it wouldn't be so thick, but then I fell in love the waviness of it!!

Wings of Time
Happy Saturday, everyone!! I had a blast playing in the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge this morning! We were to choose a photo from the Retro Color Block Pinterest Board and I chose this stunning dress due to the striking color contrast. To create the same color pattern from the dress, I started with a piece of copy paper, adhered the colored cardstock in strips, then die cut the panel using the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles Dies set. The same set was used to frame the 'Woodpecker' image, but for the sentiment sections, I used the ODBD Custom Log Cabin Quilt Die since some of its sections were just the right size, plus the edges were stitched also. I chose to separate the sentiment since it added more of the color blocking element.

Stamping With Celery Leaves!
Hi, everyone! I was unable to complete all of the Dare To Get Dirty Challenges last week at Splitcoast, but here is my last group of cards to share before the time limit expires. The four cards below were stamped with an actual celery leaf.....I loved the first card so much that I made three more with different colors and different messages. For each card, I used a different leaf from the celery plant.....after inking and 'stamping' multiple times, the leaf will get a little wilted. All four will be submitted to the DTGD16Cook22 challenge.
For the first card, I used a light purple (Almost Amethyst) ink and matching cardstock. The die-cut word and sentiment are from the 'Many Blessings' Stamp/Die Duos set by Our Daily Bread designs.
The second was inked in aqua (Pool Party) with matching cardstock, along with the 'Thanks for Everything' Stamp/Die Duos set from Our Daily Bread designs. The three dots were die cut from the ODBD Custom 'Wishing' Die since my attempt at drawing three periods needed to be covered up! :)
The next card was stamped with Crisp Cantaloupe ink, used matching cardstock, plus the 'With Sympathy' Stamp/Die Duos set from Our Daily Bread designs.
And lastly, this card was stamped with Pistachio Pudding, matching cardstock strip was added, flower stamp from the 'Vintage Bird Labels' set, plus the die and sentiment from 'Sending My Love' Stamp/Die Duos set from Our Daily Bread designs.
Thanks for visiting!

Love is Patient, Love is Kind
Hi, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Mandi Mance aka mandianna....congrats, Mandi! I chose this beautiful card to recreate, but changed the butterflies to hearts. The three large hearts were cut from the ODBD Chalkboard Paper Collection using the ODBD Custom Mini Stitched Hearts Dies, The small heart was cut from black cardstock with the same die set. The scripture verse is from the 'Birdhouse' set, also by Our Daily Bread designs. I will also be submitting this to the DTGD16cathymacA challenge.

He Restores My Soul
Hi, everyone! Happy Saturday! My card today combines this week's Inspiration Challenge plus a couple of Dare To Get Dirty Challenges as well. The Inspiration Challenge is to choose a photo from the Plaster Art Pinterest Board.....I fell in love with this work of art...the white flowers against the gray background is super striking! To match the wall, I chose Stampin Up's Basic Gray cardstock, one of my fave shades! The Lilac Single from Our Daily Bread designs was heat-embossed in white on a gray panel which was cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies. The larger gray panel was pierced around the edges to coordinate with the die cut. The ODBD Custom Trellis Strip Die was cut with white, stenciled in gray, cut down the center, and used for a border strip on each side of the card. The scripture from the 'Porch' set was stamped in gray on white, then trimmed to layer over the image panel. Three tiny pearls were added for an embellishment.

Chocolate Malt
Hi, everyone! This is a fun card I made for the DTGD16albitas challenge. The malt image from the North Coast Creations set, 'Ice Cream Shoppe' was stamped, fussy cut, watercolored, then popped up over an oval frame cut out with the ODBD Custom Ovals Dies, matted with one of the ODBD Custom Layered Lacey Ovals Dies. I thought that the swirly pattern in the die cut matched the strip of designer paper from the ODBD Birthday Bash Paper Collection.
