Smooch'd Apple Orchard for Dare To Get Dirty Challenges!
Hi everyone! Long time, no write!!! Life does get in the way of blogging at times, but I'm back in the groove just in time for the Dare To Get Dirty Challenges over at Splitcoast Stampers. If you don't belong to the Fan Club, you are missing out......there is an entire week CHOCK FULL of challenges, and mega prizes if you complete them all!!! Good thing for me that combining challenges is okay!!!
I really enjoyed making this card.....I broke out some new Memory Box cutting dies which haven't been used yet....they cut like a dream!! The "Orchard Tree Frame" was cut out of Stampin Up Chocolate Chip and the "Country Landscape" was cut out from a scrap of Memory Box designer paper, sponged with Garden Green, then the leaves, apples, trees, and houses were painted with Smooch pearlized paint. The quote stamp is from the Our Daily Bread designs "Apple Seeds" stamp single. For the background, I traced around the outside of the frame die and trimmed it down to fit, then sponged the clouds over a scalloped circle. Scotch Craft Glue was used to adhered the panels together, then Scotch Foam Tape was used to pop up the panel over Stampin Up Red Riding Hood cardstock. The only extra embellishment I used was "Pearl" Glimmer Mist....I love how it shows up well on darker cardstock! :)
I will be submitting this card for the following challenges:
DTGDKittie747 at Splitcoast (it's a secret....only the Fan Club Members know!);
Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast: I chose these adorable apple earings from BeautySpot.....they reminded me that I had not used this apple tree die yet;
Friday Free4All Challenge at Splitcoast: Seeing Double....I used two cutting dies;
Secret Crafter: Bright and Cheerful;
Dutch Dare: use three colors from color chart....red, green, brown;
Daring Cardmakers: The House That Jack Built;
Fab-n-Funky: No Stamped Images;
The Pink Elephant: Summer.
Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Apple Seeds';
Cardstock: Stampin Up Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, and Whisper White;
Designer Paper: Memory Box;
Ink: Stazon Jet Black and Stampin Up Garden Green and Bashful Blue;
Accessories: Memory Box 'Orchard Tree Frame' and 'Country Landscape', 'Siren' and 'Luscious Lime' Smooch paints, Scalloped Circle Punch (for sponged clouds), sponge daubers, foam tape;
Size: A2.
Before I go, just wanted to remind you that Our Daily Bread designs is having a HUGE "Dog Days of Summer" sale this weekend only! All stamp sets are a whopping 30% off.....check it out HERE!!!

Our Daily Bread designs "For The Love of ODBD Embossing Plates" Blog Hop!
Happy Thursday, everyone! Welcome to the "Our Daily Bread designs 'For the Love....' Blog Hop"! This time around we are focusing on the three gorgeous embossing plates by Our Daily Bread designs! As you hop around to each designer today, you will see various styles and techniques used with the embossing plates.
If you have hopped here from Connie McCotter's awesome blog, you are in the right place.....if not, please head over to the ODBD Blog, where you can start at the beginning. All of the details are there about how to win a prize, plus the full link list in case you get lost along the way. You have until Wednesday, August 1st to complete this hop. One commenter will be chosen to win a $15 gift certificate to the Our Daily Bread designs online store....yay!!
I went hog-wild and made a sample using each of the three ODBD Embossing Plates, since I couldn't decide on just one! The first is with the Butterfly Embossing Plate, which I paired up with some Cheery Lynn Designs Butterfly dies and the "Birthday Blessings" set. I used "Basic Dry Embossing" to create the butterfly background....check out the instructional video and "sandwich recipes" HERE to get the best results with the embossing plates.
Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Birthday Blessings';
Cardstock: Stampin Up 'Pink Passion' (retired) and Whisper White;
Designer Paper: Basic Grey 'Green at Heart';
Ink: Stazon 'Fuschia Pink';
Accessories: ODBD Butterfly Embossing Plate, Cheery Lynn Designs 'Exotic Butterflies Small', 'Star Dust Stickles', Zva Creative Pearls, Paper Piercer and template, foam tape;
Size: A2.
Challenges used in the making of this card:
Clean and Simple Fall-to Sketch;
Moxie Fab Birthday Challenge;
Stampin Royalty: Anything Goes.
My second sample features the Fish Embossing Plate and the "Surging Sea" stamp set. The technique I used for the background is "Inked Debossing". The basics of "de-bossing" are the same as "dry embossing", but the opposite side of the cardstock, the negative impression, is utilized instead of the raised impressions. To get the effect shown on my sample below, I carefully inked the raised surface of the plate with a navy blue ink pad, laid the cardstock on top, laid one embossing mat on top, then ran through my Grand Calibur to de-boss the fish pattern into the cardstock. The edges were torn then inked for a more rustic look which matched the ship image.
Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Surging Sea';
Cardstock: Stampin up 'Night of Navy', 'Cajun Craze', and 'Very Vanilla';
Ink: Stampin Up 'Night of Navy' and 'Cajun Craze';
Accessories: ODBD 'Fish Embossing Plate', May Arts Twill Ribbon, Stampin Up Linen Thread, Zva Creative Navy Pearls, Foam Tape, Sponge Daubers;
Size: A2.
I will be submitting this card to the ODBD Bible Verse Thursday Challenge at the ODBD Forum....this week's challenge is Finding Strength and Contentment in the Lord.
My last sample for today features the "Vintage Border Embossing Plate" and the "Porch" stamp set. The Vintage Border stamp in the "Porch" set was cut out with a custom "Vintage Border Die" ....check out all of ODBD's custom cutting dies HERE. The technique I used for the background is the "Wax Paper Resist" technique....check out some fun techniques with Wax Paper Resist HERE in this video tutorial I did for the ODBD Blog. Here is the Grand Calibur 'sandwich' I used: Base Plate, scratch paper, embossing plate face up, wax paper, scratch paper, one (thin) embossing pad, Pink Top Plate. Note: the two layers of scratch paper were used to keep the wax paper off of the plates and embossing pad. Run through the Grand Calibur die cut machine and the pattern from the embossing plate transfers to the wax paper. Use an iron to transfer the wax paper pattern to glossy card stock (once again, use scratch paper between the wax paper and iron to keep your iron clean). Use a sponge or brayer to color in the background of the glossy paper and your background is done!!
Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Porch';
Cardstock: Stampin Up 'Lavender Lace' (expired) and Whisper White;
Ink: Stampin Up 'Lavender Lace';
Accessories: ODBD 'Vintage Border Embossing Plate', 'Vintage Border' custom cutting die, Spellbinders Fancy Tags, Cheery Lynn Designs Fanciful Flourish and Exotic Butterflies Small, Zva Creative pearls and roses, Star Dust Stickles, Wax Paper, Iron, Sponge Daubers, Paper Piercer and Template, Prima Flowers;
Size: A2.
I have used the following challenges in the making of this card:
Stampin Sisters in Christ: Sparkle;
Papertake Weekly: All Things Girly;
ABC Challenge: T is for2 of something....I used two stamps.
Now....on with the hop!!!! Get ready to be amazed! Sweet Grace Nywening has some incredible samples to share with you!!!
Enjoy the rest of the hop! Have a very blessed day!!!

Football Birthday Card
Hi everyone! My nephew, Caleb, will be playing football for the first time at the end of the summer, so I thought I would get him fired up by creating a football-themed birthday card!
I have used a couple of challenges in the making of this card:
The awesome and extremely creative and talented Sophie La Fontaine was dubbed Queen for the Day on Thursday over at Splitcoast....I'm a bit late, but wanted to help her celebrate. I chose this cute card from her gallery since I loved the layout and it allowed me to use this football stamp three times instead of one!!
Speedy the Fox's Friends' Challenge: Masculine Birthday;
Sentimental Sundays: "Rough Around the Edges"....I used tearing on the bottom and ink distressed around the designer paper panel;
Cards for Men: Happy Birthday.
Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Stampin Up 'So Many Sayings' and Stampabilities 'Football';
Cardstock: Stampin Up 'Really Rust' (retired) and Whisper White;
Designer Paper: SEI 'I'm An Athlete';
Accessories: Stampin Up Word Window Punch, Ribbon from Target $1 Spot, Brass Brads, Paper Piercer and template;
Size: A2.
Thanks for visiting today! God bless!

I have used the following challenges in the making of this nameframe:

Basic Grey Challenges: 'Fun in the Sun';
Dutch Dare: Tic-Tac-Toe: Bright Colors, Flowers, Summer Fun.
Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Stampin Up 'Headline Alphabet';
Cardstock: Stampin Up Pink Passion (retired) and Whisper White;

He Will Direct Your Paths!
Hi everyone! Happy Monday! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! We're still praying for rain here in Indiana, and praying for the rest of our nation as well! Until it cools down, I have plenty to do inside.....like play in my stamp room!!!
This is a graduation card I made for my 2nd cousin, Taryn, who just graduated....her fave colors are purple and black, so I instantly thought of the mirror paper which I picked up from the ODBD show booth last year. To create the frame, I cut the eggplant piece at 5-1/4 x 5-1/4, then centered a Spellbinders Square Nestabilities die, holding it in place with some scotch tape while running it through my Spellbinders Grand Calibur. The Grand Calibur is not only big enough to cut several things out at a time, but there is rarely a need to use the embossing mat since the pressure during the cutting embosses it too! Yay! The black inside mat to the frame was cut out in black mirror paper with the next smallest square die. The white cardstock mat was stamped with the Our Daily Bread designs "Bird Border and Corners" set, the scripture is from "For the Graduate", and the congrats sentiment is from the "As You Graduate" set. The "Italian Flourish" doily and "Exotic Butterfly Small" are from Cheery Lynn Designs......Our Daily Bread designs carries quite a few of their detailed cutting dies....you'll have to check them out!
I have used the following challenges in the making of this card:
Splitcoast's Inspiration Challenge: I chose this lavender body butter from the Indulgence by SV Soaps Etsy store.....their soaps look like desserts.....check them out!!!;
Splitcoast's newly dubbed Queen For The Day, Angela aka Arizona Maine....wow, what an amazing gallery......I chose this gorgeous card because of the layout and cut out frame;
ABC Challenge: S = Surprise = Anything Goes
Moxie Fab "Congratulations Challenge": create a congrats card.
Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'As You Graduate', 'For The Graduate', 'Bird Border and Corners', 'Scripture Collection 2' (inside card);
Cardstock: Stampin Up Elegant Eggplant, Basic Black, Whisper White;
Designer Paper: Purple and Black Mirror Paper (from the ODBD Stamp Show Booth);
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Elegant Eggplant;
Accessories: Spellbinders Square Nestabilities, Cheery Lynn Designs' 'Italian Flourish' and 'Exotic Butterfly - Small' dies, Cropodile (to punch 'faux' brads from the mirror paper), foam tape;
Size: 5-1/2 x 5-1/2.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! If you haven't seen it yet, there is a brand new color of Flower Soft which Our Daily Bread designs has added to their store.....there is a Flower Soft sale this week as well....all Flower Soft products are 10% off!!! Have a very blessed week!

ODBD "For The Love" Blog Hop!
Hi everyone! Welcome to the Our Daily Bread designs bi-weekly "For the Love" Blog Hop, hosted by our fabulous Alumni Team and joined by me and other ODBD sisters! This time around our hop is featured around ODBD's Christmas sets.
If you have hopped here from Betty's amazing blog, you are in the right place....if not, please head over to the ODBD Blog and start from the beginning...we don't want you to miss a thing! Hop to each of the designers' blogs, leave a comment, then let us know at the ODBD blog that you have finished. You have until Wednesday, July 18th, at 6pm EDT, to complete the hop....the winner of a $15.00 gift certificate to the ODBD Store will be announced during the new hop post on the 19th.
For my sample today, I have used the "Baking Tag Set", along with the custom "Tag Die" which cuts out the Tag Stamp perfectly! My tag has three layers....here is how I achieved that: First, I stamped the Tag Stamp, image, and sentiment onto Crumb Cake (Kraft) cardstock, then trimmed around the edge of the stamped line. Second, I used the "Tag Die" to cut out a tag from Very Vanilla cardstock. Thirdly, I traced the outside of the "Tag Die" onto the hunter green cardstock, then cut it out by hand. So, by combining the cutting die, plus a little hand-trimming (which was easy), my tag has two matted layers. (Note: some may ask, so thought I would let you know that these are Toll-House chocolate chip cookies....I follow the recipe on the bag of chips, other than the fact that I use real butter and sea salt....makes a huge difference in the taste! YUM!!)
Now.....on with the hop! Your next stop is with my dear sweet and oh-so-talented DT sister, Sabrina!!! Enjoy the rest of the hop!!!!
Blessings to you,
