Hi, everyone! Today's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Dawn aka Stampinscotsgirl.....congrats, Dawn!!! I chose this beautiful card....I loved the CAS design with the scoring and piercing at the bottom. In place of her flower, a bow was added instead and I totally forgot to round one of the corners...oops! For the top panel, I have used another pattern from the upcoming (March 1st) designer paper pack from Our Daily Bread designs, called "Blooming Garden Collection"......the same set of paper I used yesterday on the dragonfly card. There are two 6x6 pages each of twelve designs which feature images and designs from quite a few ODBD stamp sets. The lines at the bottom were scored using my Scor-buddy and the sentiment is from an upcoming March stamp set, called "Bee Happy". I will also be submitting this to the Dynamic Duo "Triple Threat" Challenge, which is to use Wild Wasabi, Tangerine Tango, and Melon Mambo, all of which this gorgeous designer paper features!! (P.S. In person, the ribbon does match the melon cardstock, but it did not photograph well.)

Dragonfly Birthday
Hi, everyone! Today's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to choose a photo from Wee Folk Studio as your inspiration. Though the stitched artwork there is absolutely amazing, I was drawn to this post with photos of her town after a snow storm......I love, love, love a deep blue winter sky with the sun shining....why can't all winter days be sunny and beautiful?! :) Anyhoo.....when I saw the blues and browns together, I immediately thought of some new custom designer paper from Our Daily Bread designs, called "Blooming Garden Collection" (available March 1st). Hubby and I will be leaving soon to go car shopping (ugh), so I needed to make something quick for my brother in law's birthday. The "Faithful Friend" set by Our Daily Bread designs has the dragonfly image which matches this paper, so I stamped it, fussy cut it out, popped up with foam tape, colored with markers and a glitter pen. The birthday sentiment is from my old standby set for masculine cards, "Dad", also by ODBD.
Thanks for visiting today! Have a fabulous weekend!!

My Heart Leaps for Joy!
Hi, everyone! Today's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Lorraine Aquilina aka yorkshire lass......congrats Lols!! I chose this gorgeous z-fold card since I have been wanting to try this technique for a long time. I used the new ODBD Custom Ornate Heart Die Set, along with "Clean Heart" (sentiment on front) and "Love You Bunches" (sentiment on inside), along with the new "Heart and Soul Collection" designer paper pack, also from Our Daily Bread designs. I followed the instructions from the Swinging Z-Fold tutorial at Splitcoast on the resources page....Beate gives some great tips during the video! (You may have to log in to see the tutorial.)
Since this type of card is very difficult to photograph, I have included four different photos which show different views:
This one is from the front with the card closed....it's dimension is approx 4-1/4 square.
Next is the view as the card is slightly opened:
Next view shows the heart cut out a bit more:
This last photo shows the "inside" of the card with the sentiment panel:
Thanks for visiting today!
God bless!

Keep My Lamp Burning
Happy Saturday, everyone!! For my card today, I have combined a couple of challenges from Splitcoast this week. Firstly, congrats to the super sweet and uber talented Kathy LeDonne for being dubbed Queen for the Day.......I chose this beautiful card to recreate since I haven't used the "Keep My Lamp Burning" set for a long time and I loved her layout and ribbon across the bottom. Since I knew what stamp set I wanted to use, I then went to the Inspiration Challenge to find a great masculine color combo.....I chose this set of throws from West Elm which had a combination of blue, gray, and brown.....perfect!!! The lighthouse and scripture verse were stamped in Navy, the sky was sponged in light blue (and kraft around the edge) and the lighthouse was sponged in kraft to keep the neutral theme going. Kept it simple, added only paper piercing, ribbon, and one silver brad in the compass for embellishments.

Bless Your Heart!
Hi, everyone! Today's Clean and Simple Challenge over at Splitcoast is based on the layout of a card in the latest Stampin Up Catalog, on page 37.....it shows a simple image plus a stair-step effect with the sentiment. I have used the sentiment from "Bless Your Heart", along with one of the dies from the ODBD Custom Ornate Hearts die set and the center flower is from "Clean Heart". I used baker's twine to create a balloon illusion.
I will also be submitting this card to the very first challenge over at the Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge blog, which is to use your signature style......I would have to say that clean designs and paper piercing are my signature.
Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great week!

Blessings Come Down
Hi, everyone! I'm up late due to unusual insomnia, so I'm celebrating this week's new Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast, Kathleen Curry.....congrats, Kathleen!!! I chose this beautiful card from Kathleen's amazing gallery to recreate. I really liked the arrows in her design....since I don't have an arrow punch or die, I used a chevron border punch instead. I punched out six chevrons, then trimmed them down so that they would be graduated sizes. The sentiment is from the Blessings set by Our Daily Bread designs; the arrows were colored with a chalk marker. The three circles at the top were punched from the same designer paper as the chevrons. This card will only cost 49 cents to mail...woo hoo!!!! That is quite unusual for me!!
Enjoy your Sunday!

The Wind and the Sea
Hi, everyone! Another frigid day with light snow here in Indiana, so it's stamping time for me! Today's Inspiration Challenge is to choose an item from Bed, Bath and Beyond for inspiration. I needed to make a couple of masculine birthday cards and was looking for a color combination......this awesome painting with gray and brown tones really did the trick! My card design is based on this beautiful card by Sherry Kushibab aka Kushabella, who was this week's Featured Stamper.....congrats, Sherry!!! I used the same set, "The Waves on the Sea", by Our Daily Bread designs, for the image, but left the card base plain so that I could stamp on it. The angled panel was stamped with the Fishing Net Background, also from ODBD. Since I didn't have any charms, I used an anchor die cut from a Spellbinders set. I liked Sherry's card so much that I made two cards exactly the same since the recipients do not know each other. :)
Thanks for visiting with me today! Have a wonderful weekend!

Beautiful Wishes
Hi, everyone! Today's Ways To Use It Challenge is to do some coloring on your project. I know that white is not a color, but I did spend a good while coloring the dry embossed flowers with a chalk marker....does that count? This is a birthday card for a co-worker who loves anything purple, but doesn't like a big fuss, so I cased one of my own CAS cards which I made a few months ago, but in pink instead of purple....check it out HERE. The stamp I used is from the Our Daily Bread designs "Sentiments Collection 2", embossed in white. If you look close, you can see a bit of Pearl Glimmer Mist....I love how it looks against colored cardstock...yummy!

Lattice Framed Quatrefoil Heart
Hi, everyone! It's another "snow day" for me, so instead of going to work this morning, I headed to my stamp room to finish this tribute to my dear sweet designer sister, Robin Clendinning aka stamperrobin, who was dubbed Queen For The Day over at Splitcoast Stampers......congrats, Robin!!!! Her gallery is full of amazing techniques and so many different styles....eye candy for everyone!!! I chose this gorgeous card as inspiration for my card. I originally planned to keep the all-white theme, but decided to mix in some pink since I will be sending it to Kelley for the ODBD show booth (she loves pink!!) For this card, I have used some new dies from Our Daily Bread designs. The frame was created by cutting out four lattice borders from the ODBD Custom Beautiful Borders Die Set, stenciled each with pink ink, then a mitre cut was used on the corners in order to piece them together. The scalloped heart frame was cut out by combining the two largest dies from the ODBD Custom Ornate Hearts Die Set. The small pink heart in the center was cut by hand after tracing the outside edge of the die which cut out the flourish heart from the "Bless Your Heart" set. The Quatrefoil Pattern Die, cut in white, was trimmed to fit and adhered to the back of the scalloped heart frame and then popped up with foam tape for dimension.
I will also be submitting this for this week's ODBD Shining the Light 'L-O-V-E' Challenge....L = lattice border, O=Ornate Hearts,V=Valentine, E=embossed die cuts.
Thanks for stopping by today!

God's Blessings To You
Hello there! I am regrettably late in creating a card, but could not pass up the chance to celebrate a previously crowned Queen for the Day over at Splitcoast, one of my designer sistahs over at Our Daily Bread designs, Cheryl Scrivens aka CherylQuilts!!! Cheryl is one of the sweetest people I have ever met.....she has the biggest heart and it's made of gold! It was an absolute honor to case one of her beautiful cards! If you have not before, you have got to visit her Splitcoast gallery or ODBD gallery and check out her amazing God-given talents!!! I really loved the clean layout and punched border of this gorgeous card so I chose it for inspiration for a birthday card for a mentally disabled friend who's favorite color is orange (and she likes cats). The kitty image is from the ODBD set, Cat Sympathy, and the sentiment is from Mini Tags 3(retired). The grass was sponged over a piece of scratch paper and the clouds were sponged over a scalloped circle.
Thanks again for stopping by!
