Bible Verse Thursday - Looking Out My Window

For this week's Bible Verse Thursday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts, I wanted to make it fun and easy....ANYBODY can do this one!!! The challenge theme is "Looking Out My Window"....you can take that any way you wish! Your project could be about weather, about nature, about wildlife, about vacations,.....anything you can see looking out your window, PLUS a verse of your choice, hence, Bible Verse Thursday! See, how easy is that?!

I also used Gloria's Sketch Tuesday Challenge.....I am totally loving her sketch style!!!! Instead of popping up some flowers , I decided to use this gorgeous floral paper from SEI and popped up some Martha Stuart Monarch Butterflies instead. The butterflies were punched out of Chocolate Chip, then covered with Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist...yummmm!!. The verse is from a new set from Our Daily Bread designs on March 1st, called "The Lord Has Risen". The pink pearls are Basic Grey Opaline. Wow, I just realized I didn't use any ribbon!! This also qualifies for the Belli Challenge to use butterflies or dragonflies...thanks for the heads up, Liz!!!

Thanks so much for visiting today! Just in case I don't post for a few days, I want to give you heads up about the ODBD Release Day and Blog Hop on Monday, the 1st....lots of fun and prizes! Plus, there will be some exciting announcements about some special challenges for ODBD's anniversary month. Stay tuned!!

Have a very blessed day!!!

Featured Artists of the Week!

My post today celebrates two uber-talented featured artists this week......jovialjudi over at Splitcoast and debbiedee over at Christian Paper Crafts! For both cards, I have used a special color challenge from Splitcoast...the "Olympic Color Challenge Event". There are different "events" to choose from.....what a fun twist to the color challenge! You'll have to check it out for yourself!

I have chosen to case this gorgeous CAS card from Judi's gallery. Check out her awesome gallery HERE! I have used a new set from Our Daily Bread designs, "Easter Blessings", which will be released on March 1st. I colored the leaves with Always Artichoke, then painted the blossoms and leaves with Pearl Glimmer Mist. The card base was embossed with the Victoria embossing folder, the image panel was punched with the Martha Stuart Floral Vine border punch, added paper piercing, then sponged the edges with Ranger Antique Linen distress ink. For a finishing touch, I added sheer ribbon and a Scripture Sticker from Jolee's Boutique (for a touch of silver for the Olympic color challenge.)

From Debbie's gallery at CPC , I have chosen to case this awesome card because of the cool layout. I have also used the SCS color challenge for this one....okay, I may be taking liberties here since there is pink on my card! I am using another new set from Our Daily Bread designs, "The Lord Has Risen", to be released on March 1st. I thought this verse went very well with the design of Debbie's card.....I used the circle layer as a rising sun. The violets were colored with markers, then the blossoms were popped up and painted with Pearl Glimmer Mist for some shimmer. I also used satin ribbon by May Arts, Basic Grey "Lemonade" paper, and Zva Pearls.

Thanks so much for visiting today! Have a blessed week!!!

Shining the Light Challenge- Secret Admirer

This week's "Shining the Light" challenge over at the ODBD blog is to case (copy and share everything) a project from your favorite artist, changing only two things from the original. I couldn't make a decision on who I would case, since I have sooooo many favorites, especially on our own ODBD teams. So, I decided I would re-create one of Kelley's cards. If it weren't for Kelley stepping out in faith and creating this wonderful, spirit-filled business, I honestly feel empty thinking about where I would be without Our Daily Bread designs! Being able to create cards and gifts for others, while sharing the Word.....what better mission could there be?

The card I chose to re-create is HERE. I had to choose this one since it is Kelley's favorite stamp. The two things I changed were the papers and I added some bling (Glimmer Mist and Stickles). The verse and dogwood flowers are from "Sing To The Lord", the paper is Basic Grey "Cappella", the corners are Tim Holtz Idea-ology. The stick pin is from Around The Block.....I stamped one of the dogwood flowers, colored with markers, glued the stamped piece to the back of the pin, added Ranger Antique Linen Stickles, then Ranger Glassy Glaze on top of that to seal everything in. The bow was tied using my new best friend, my Bow-Easy!!! And for the grand finale, I sprayed Irridescent Gold Glimmer Mist over everything!!!!

Though Kelley stays extremely busy with daily business operations, she does make time to stamp once in a while!! Check out her ODBD gallery!!! Thanks once again to Kelley for all that she does for our team and for the stamping community as well! I can't wait to see what the future holds.....many, many blessings to come, I'm sure!!!

Along with the ODBD challenge, I have used Christian Paper Crafts color challenge of 2 browns, pink, and optional is green. Also, the Fun on Friday challenge was to use bling...I chose stickles and Glimmer Mist.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Stay tuned tomorrow for some SNEAK PEEKS of the new March releases!!!! God Bless!!!!

Cardinal Joy

Happy Friday, ya'all!!!! I'm so excited that the weekend is near, except for the fact that we are expecting 10 more inches of snow this weekend!! As long as I get to the grocery first, let it snow!!

Today's card features another gorgeous bird set from Our Daily Bread designs, called "Sing For Joy". I love how the cardinal looks against this Basic Grey Wassail dsp. I have used the Sweet Stop Sketch this week for the basic layout.

Tonight I will be working on Betty Wright's "Stamping In Time" challenge.....you still have time to play as well....it's open until Wednesday, February 24th, 8 EST. You could win $15 towards ODBD stamps....how cool is that?

Plus, Saturday morning there will be a new weekly challenge posted on the ODBD blog from our Challenge Team....you don't want to miss this one!!

Bible Verse Thursday - He is Our Protector

Today's theme for Bible Verse Thursday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts is "He Is Our Protector". I see so much fear in people all over these days....fear of the economy, fear of losing their jobs, fear of illness, fear of "the enemy" and so on. Fear is a horrible, paralyzing emotion.....I was plagued with it for most of my life. The Lord helped me to release the fear from my life....I didn't even realize that I was trapped until I was set free!! There is nothing to fear but fear itself....think about those words.....fear IS the horrible thing we are to fear....not the "things" we are normally afraid of! As long as we abide in Him, He will never forsake us....He will ALWAYS protect us...He will always provide....if we BELIEVE!!! One of my favorite verses I like to read, which keeps me strong and reminds me that there is only God and no reason to fear, is Isaiah 45:7. God tells us,"I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things." If you ever find yourself afraid of the dark, literally or figuratively, read this verse and become strong!!

Today's project was centered around Bible Verse Thursday, however, I have used Jen's Color Monday Challenge, to use turquoise, orange, and white; plus, I have used Gloria's Sketch Tuesday Challenge as well. This card was very fun to make.... the colors stretched me a bit and the sketch forced me to keep it simple....which I need those nudges at times!!! The verse is from "You Will Find Refuge" from Our Daily Bread designs, the pearls are Basic Grey Opaline, the paper is K and Company "Que Sera", and the flower is a Prima which I sprayed with Mimosa Glimmer Mist. For the flower stems, I punched them out with a Martha Stuart punch from the dsp, then doused them with Turquoise Blue Glimmer Mist. I have also used the Clean and Simple Challenge (make a project about spring), and Ways to Use It Challenge ( to use orange on your project) from SplitcoastStampers. And last, but not least, I have used the Pile It On Challenge #6 to use flowers!

The close-up shot really shows the shimmer and glimmer!!! The entire card was then sprayed with Pearl Glimmer Mist....I love this stuff!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Don't forget to check out the challenges over at Christian Paper Crafts!!!! Have a very blessed day!

Bluebird Quadruple Challenge

Did you know that Our Daily Bread designs' Challenge Team has a brand new challenge each Saturday? That means each week you have a chance to win $15.00 towards ODBD stamps!!! How cool is that?! This week's challenge, in honor of Valentine's Day, is to use pink or red on your project plus some bling.....check out the challenge details on the ODBD blog post HERE. I used May Arts satin ribbon, Hero Arts pink pearls, plus there is pink in my image and Memory Box "Butterfield" dsp.

This week's featured artist for Case Artist Saturday over at Christian Paper Crafts is thumbunny.....what an awesome gallery!! I chose this gorgeous card to copy and share. I used the Doily Lace edge punch by Martha Stuart for the border and top corners, sponged with Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Antique Linen". For a shimmery finish, I sprayed the finished card multiple times with Pearl Glimmer Mist....yummy!

The Pile It On Challenge this week is to use flowers!!! Who couldn't participate in this challenge?! Woo Hoo, how fun!!!

And lastly, this week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find an item from Geninne's Art Store for your inspiration. I chose this Bluebird with Flowers Print as my inspiration....the thistle reminded me of the new ODBD set, "He Watches Me". The image was stamped on watercolor paper with Stazon Jet Black, then watercolored. The thistle was colored with markers...too small for an aquapainter brush!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Have a blessed weekend!!!

Southwest Birthday

Are "guy cards" tricky for you too? I needed a birthday card for my step-dad today, and really struggled, even using challenges to help me with ideas! I have used four challenges from Splitcoast this week....yay!! The Ways To Use It challenge was to use odd numbers on your project....I used three images, three pewter star brads, and three strips of poly-twill ribbon. I know...it's kinda weird without a sentiment on the outside, but I just couldn't find anything to work! Wendy's Limited Supply Challenge, to use one of the Presidents as inspiration. Color Challenge, to use Chocolate Chip, Sage, and Rust, with the "dessert" option to use patterns and textures...I used the "Stars" Embossing Folder and some cool retired Southwestern-style SU papers from my stash. (*Disclaimer: No stamps were inked in the making of this card!!) I have also used Roxie's sketch challenge from this week. This is my second attempt....the first one I got a little too "creative" and tweaked it almost beyond recognition!

Thanks for stopping by today!! Have a blessed weekend!!!

Bible Verse Thursday - "Do Not Worry"

It's time for Bible Verse Thursday once again.....one of the weekly challenges over at Christian Paper Crafts. This week's theme is "Do Not Worry".....which is a common thing most of us deal with in these tough times. I would like to share what Jesus has to say in Matthew about worry.

"Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." Matthew 6:25-34
Do not worry about a thing, Jesus commands us. All we have to do is seek Him, abide in Him, and BELIEVE! This world has conditioned us to be proud and put our trust and faith in ourselves....we don't need any help from anybody, right? It's time to re-program......we have to find a way to let it all go and trust in our God, the creator of the heaven and earth. He has already given us everything....it's up to us to tear down the walls and receive His blessings!

A little about my card today. For the BVT "Do Not Worry" challenge, I have used a new set from Our Daily Bread designs, called "Sing For Joy". I have also used Gloria's Sketch Tuesday Challenge at CPC for the layout. Both pieces of designer paper are from the Basic Grey "Origins" line. The cardinal was stamped on Very Vanilla in Stazon Jet Black, colored with markers and a blender pen, and cut out with an exacto knife and paper snips (a two hour job, BTW!!! Whew!) The satin embroidered ribbon is from May Arts and was tied using the Bow Easy. The fabric brads from K and Company, which I found in my stash, matched the olive tones from the image and paper, so...why not?

Thanks so very much for stopping by today! Have a blessed day!!!

Sing and Make Music!

This was a super fun card I made using some new stuff from Flower Soft. Have you seen the Ultra Fine Flower Soft yet?! The particles are much smaller than the original Flower Soft....I love it!!! I used "Sage" Ultra Fine to create the grass in my scene. The bottom portion of my image panel I used layered strips of Scor-Tape, added the ribbon, then covered the rest with the Flower Soft. I chose the Scor-Tape idea since it was such a large area...the Flower Soft glue is awesome, but dries too fast and I'm slow!! I love these Flower Soft Alpha Pots and Country Taglets bouquets too. The flowers were embellished with "Citrus Crush" and "Raspberry Fizz" Ultra Fine. The verse is from a new set from Our Daily Bread designs, called "You Will Find Refuge". The pearls are by Zva.

I have used two challenges in the making of this card. Jen's Color Monday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts is to use green, orange, and pink....sherbet colors...yum!!! Roxie's Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoast today is so awesome! I flipped the sketch over on it's side.....I used four elements instead of three, but I couldn't find a three letter word for the alpha pots to match my verse.....challenge police, come and get me!!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Stay tuned for Bible Verse Thursday tomorrow! Have a blessed day!!

"The Greatest of These is Love" Challenge Combo

This week's featured artist on Case Artist Saturday over at Christian Paper Crafts just happens to be the newest addition to our Design Team, Randi Barrett!!!! We are so excited that she has accepted the offer to be a permanent member on our CPC team! Randi is truly a joy to work with....you probably know her from her DT position over at Stamping Sisters in Christ. If you haven't before, check out Randi's touching and inspirational story on her blog. I have chosen this gorgeous card from Randi's gallery to copy and share, because I loved the fun design and three flowers!!!
I chose to use the Our Daily Bread designs' set, "Love", Basic Grey "Wisteria" paper, Flower Soft "Lavender Borders" card topper, Lilac Flower Soft, and made my own 5-layer buttons with the leftover dsp and CM heart punches.....so that I could also use this for the ODBD Challenge Team's heart challenge. Click here for a tutorial on making your own 5-layer buttons out of paper! Check out the ODBD challenge here.....another chance to win a $15.00 credit toward ODBD stamps!! Each Saturday there is a new challenge on the ODBD blog. Sign up for email notification of each ODBD blog post.....that way you won't miss out on a thing!!

The Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast was to choose a piece of art from the Erte Collection. I chose this sculpture because of the silver accents. The Flower Soft Peel Off Stickers were perfect for the IC piece I chose.
I have also used the following challenges: the Pile It On Challenge #5 this week, who's theme is "To The One You Love"; the Crazy 4 Challenges "Be My Valentine" challenge; and the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 36 "Love/Valentine".

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a warm, wonderful, and blessed week!!

Bible Verse Thursday - Do Not Fear

Happy Thursday, everyone! One more day and then it's the weekend and then.....SUPER BOWL SUNDAY!!!! I am so proud of my Colts! Even if they don't win, it's okay, because I think they set good examples for kids and everyone....very respectful and class acts whether they win or lose! If the Saints win, that's okay too, since Drew Brees is a Christian and is not afraid to talk about his faith!

This week's Bible Verse Thursday Challenge for Christian Paper Crafts is quite personal for me. The topic is "Do Not Fear". For most of my life, I was plagued with fear in almost every area of my life. Now that the Lord has lifted those burdens from me, I do my very best to help others to realize that it is impossible to have fear and faith at the same time. My dear friend, and founder of Christian Paper Crafts, Cindy Coutts, pointed out that we are told 365 times in the Bible not to fear....hmmmm, isn't that interesting? Why does the Lord have to remind us so many times? Because we have "issues"....we get doubts in our head and do not believe or have enough faith! When I find myself afraid of something, I pray that the Lord fill me completely up with faith.....so much that it spills over.....so that there is no way that fear or doubt can creep back in!!!! Try it and feel the peace and knowing wash over you!!!

I really enjoyed making the card sample for this week's Bible Verse challenge. I used one of the gorgeous new sets from Our Daily Bread designs, called "He Watches Me". The bird is really a sparrow, but I couldn't resist turning him into a Gold Finch to match this gorgeous new "Green At Heart" dsp coming out soon by Basic Grey. (This paper is another sneak-peek sample from CHA!) I have also used Gloria's Sketch Tuesday Challenge from Christian Paper Crafts as well. Other materials used: Melon Mambo cardstock by SU, Martha Stuart Floral Vine Border Punch, May Arts Satin Ribbon tied with the small Bow Easy, Spellbinders Labels Eight, exacto knife, paper piercer, scalloped circle punch for sponging the clouds, and lots of foam tape for dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a blessed day!!!
