Pumpkin Wreath for Thanksgiving

Hi, everyone!!  Yesterday was a fabulous day......I organized and clean my craft room, which had not been done "the right way" in a long time!  So, the card I made today for the Featured Stamper challenge at Splitcoast was pure joy to make.....you know, like cooking in a spotless kitchen! :)

Our Daily Bread designs "Pumpkin Wreath" Designer Angie Crockett

This week's Featured Stamper at SCS is Janine aka nines.....what a fun gallery!  I chose this gorgeous card because of the cool design!  I had never made a card like this before, with the "ray" design, so I created a template with a piece of scrap paper and a ruler in order to get the angles right.
I will also be submitting to the Our Daily Bread designs Shining the Light "L.E.A.F." Challenge again..... L=leaves, E=eggplant, A=angles, F=copper Foil paper from SEI...or "Fussy Cutting".

Perfect Gift

Happy Saturday, everyone! Today I have a fun card to share with you.  I hope you aren't tired of seeing Flower Soft creations yet!  Once I open up my Flower Soft stash, I get a little crazed and have to keep using it!! :)  When I spotted these adorable bears with shopping bags (from the Flower Soft 'Recipes For Friends' Kit), I thought this image would go so well with this scripture from "The Perfect Gift" stamp set by Our Daily Bread designs.  I love to use sets in other ways than originally intended......"The Perfect Gift" was designed for Christmas, but due to the versatility of this and all other ODBD sets, there are so many more options!

I will be submitting this card to the following challenges:
Splitcoast's Inspiration Challenge: I chose these fun earrings from Agate Christina because of the gorgeous color combination.....after digging through my designer paper stash, I found this My Mind's Eye paper to be a perfect match....yay for designer papers!!
The Shining the Light "L.E.A.F." Challenge at the Our Daily Bread designs blog......L = leaves on the designer paper, E = 'Earth' Flower Soft sprinkles, A = Adhesive Pearls, F = floral designer paper.
Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge is "Texture", which was accomplished by using Flower Soft.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'The Perfect Gift' (scripture verse);
Cardstock: Stampin Up 'Real Red', 'Pool Party', and 'Whisper White';
Designer Paper: Flower Soft Image from 'Recipe For Friends' Card Making Kit, 'My Mind's Eye 'Miss Caroline: Dolled Up';
Accessories:  Flower Soft Sprinkles: Ultrafine 'Earth', 'Toffee', and 'Sand'; Cheery Lynn Designs 'Dutch Scallop Square Frame' die, Zva Creative Adhesive Pearls, Bow Easy, May Arts Satin Ribbon, paper piercer and template, Spellbinders Mega Ovals Lg, Foam tape, sponge dauber;

Peace, Joy, Love, and Flower Soft!!!

Hi, everyone!!  Though it still felt like summer in Indiana yesterday, we all know that winter is so very close.....so, I gave in and made a wintery card to help me get ready!  The sentiment is from the "Perfect Gift" set by Our Daily Bread designs and the image is a pre-printed card topper by Flower Soft (link below).

I will be submitting this card to a couple of challenges:
The Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge is about Peace, so this sentiment was perfect;
the Shining the Light "L.E.A.F. Recipe" Challenge over at the Our Daily Bread designs blog is to use elements on your project which start with three of the four letters....L = lamp-post, E = embossing (dry embossing on die-cuts), F = Flower Soft.

I can't say enough about how much I love Flower Soft products!  Their beautiful pre-printed card toppers save sooooo much time, plus....they're just plain gorgeous!!  This beautiful light post scene is from the Vintage Christmas kit, which has many varieties and sizes of 'card toppers' which can be cut out with Spellbinder dies.......to find out how to cut out the card toppers with the coordinating Spellbinder dies, check out the tutorial I did for Our Daily Bread designs HERE.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Perfect Gift' and 'Luke 2:11' (background);
Cardstock: Stampin Up Always Artichoke;
Designer paper: Memory Box 'Tinsel' and Card Topper from the Flower Soft / Spellbinders Vintage Christmas Kit ;
Accessories: Stamp-a-ma-jig stamp positioner (to stamp the sentiment straight), Spellbinders Scalloped Ovals and Floral Ovals, SEI ribbon, Flower Soft 'Russett' and 'Polar White', Flower Soft Ultrafine 'Pine' and 'Sage', Flower Soft Glue, Zva Creative Pearls, Bow Easy, Foam Tape;

The background of the bottom layer was stamped with the Crocheted Background, using Ranger Antique Linen Distress Ink.  The image panel and mat were cut out with my new Spellbinders Labels 28 dies.  I wanted Jesus to be the main focus, so I kept the design as simple as possible.

My sample for the hop today is a birthday card for my wonderful, sweet, and talented hairdresser, Laura!  She is a real blessing to me, so I wanted to bless her with a special birthday card!!  She showed me her fave photo from Pinterest of blue glass and apricot poppies, so I knew which paper I had to use.....along with the ODBD poppy image from 'Mother's Day'.  I stamped the image twice, cut one out with the ODBD 'Poppy Die', then cut out the three blossoms by hand to pop up for even more dimension.

Hi everyone!!!  Today is a very special day......Kelley, owner and founder of Our Daily Bread designs, turns the big 50 today!  Happy Birthday, Kelley!!!  I could tease about her being "older than dirt" now, but I'm getting pretty close to that landmark myself, so it's not that funny!!!  lol!!!   Since Kelley is the bestest Mrs.-Boss-Lady (MBL) ever, the Breadsticks are having a blog hop in Kelley's honor! The full link list and all of the deets are here on the ODBD Blog.....hop to each blog (I am first), leave a comment, then head back to the ODBD Blog and leave Kelley some birthday wishes!  Some of the designer blogs have "hidden blog candy" which will be announced on Oct. 10th on the ODBD Blog along with the blogs on which the candy was hidden.  You have until Oct 8 at 8pm EDT to complete the hop.  Blog candy winners will have 48 hours to claim their prize from the designer listed.

Our Daily Bread designs "Father's Day", "Keep Climbing", "Bird Border and Corners" Designer Angie Crockett

Most of you are probably wondering......why would I use a moose on a feminine birthday card?!  Well, Kelley loves moose and collects them.  I promised her a moose diorama last year after doing the Diorama Tutorial HERE, so, I have finally kept my promise!!

Our Daily Bread designs "Father's Day", "Keep Climbing", "Bird Border and Corners" Designer Angie Crockett

The inside panel was stamped all of the way around with the mountain scene from the "Keep Climbing" set, to create a real 3-dimensional scene.  The center panel was stamped with the moose image from "Father's Day" and the "Bird Border and Corners" set.  The opening was cut out with the largest die from the ODBD Exclusive Spellbinders "Elegant Ovals" die set and the sentiment on the front is from "Mini Tags 1".

"Campy" Birthday Wishes!

Hi everyone! This was a super quick card for a co-worker's birthday.  He and his family love to go camping, so I couldn't resist using this adorable designer paper from Bo Bunny "Camping Out" 6x6 pack!!!  The EK Success Alpine border punch helped to give it a little character even though it was very CAS (clean and simple).  The birthday sentiment is from the Our Daily Bread designs "Dad" set.....I use this stamp for soooo many masculine birthday cards....I love the manly font of it!

Our Daily Bread designs "Dad" set, Designer Angie Crockett

Happy Day with a Bleached Dahlia!

Our Daily Bread designs 'Dahlia", "Be Joyful" Designer Angie Crockett
Hi everyone! Today I would like to share a sample I made while doing a video tutorial for Our Daily Bread designs on the "Bleached Image Tutorial" last month.  I showed different variations of the technique....this one I colored the image first, then bleached portions of it for a variegated look.
Our Daily Bread designs 'Dahlia", "Be Joyful" Designer Angie Crockett
For the longest time I shied away from this technique from the fear of the bleach itself, but I'm super happy with the Clorox Bleach Pen, which is a gel-typed substance and you only need a small dab at a time. Sure, you can smell a little bleach, but it is not overwhelming...yay!! Once it dries, after a few days, there was no smell at all. My advice is to wait a few days before you give your card to someone....just in case!
Our Daily Bread designs 'Dahlia", "Be Joyful" Designer Angie Crockett
Card 'Ingredients;
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Dahlia' and 'Be Joyful';
Cardstock: Stampin Up Not Quite Navy and Sahara Sand;
Designer Paper: Bo Bunny 'Country Garden';
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Stampin Up 'Marina Mist' Marker;
Accessories: Clorox Bleach Pen, Cheery Lynn Designs 'Fanciful Flourish', Spellbinders Labels 26, paint brush, paper piercer, foam tape, craft knife;
Size: 4-1/2 x 4-1/2.

The dahlia flower was stamped, colored, and bleached twice, then cut out (one of the flowers was trimmed smaller). To create even more dimension, I used a craft knife on the top layer, around the tips of each petal and then curled them upward.  This makes it look like there are multiple layers, with much less cutting...I LIKE that!!

The Word in the Window

If you are looking for the Our Daily Bread designs October New Release Blog Hop, please click HERE or scroll down one post.

Hi everyone!  I'm a bit behind in my blogging again.....so sorry for the "few and far between" posts of late!

ODBD Exclusive Spellbinders Window Die, "The Word of God", "Mini Tags 1" Designer Angie Crockett

This card is a sample I created for the "Feature Focus" post over at the Our Daily Bread designs blog last week.  This month's Feature Focus is the ODBD Exclusive Spellbinders "Windows" die set, which includes the window, two curtains, and a valance.  What I love about it is that you can easily create a scene looking in or create a scene looking outside...fun, fun!!!  If you haven't seen the post yet, check it out HERE......lots of fun ideas shown with one die set!!

The window, window box, and "siding" are from one piece of SEI designer paper.  The siding was created by scoring the paper with my Scor-buddy, folding it on the score lines so that the edges could be inked, then I scored the same lines the opposite way so that the ink would be inset.....clear as mud?!

ODBD Exclusive Spellbinders Window Die, "The Word of God", "Mini Tags 1" Designer Angie Crockett
Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'The Word of God', 'Mini Tags 1' (sentiment);
Cardstock: Stampin Up Early Espresso, Certainly Celery (plants), and Whisper White;
Designer Paper: SEI 'Mirelle':

I have used the "Apple Wreath" set for my sample.....I'm so happy to have two more Thanksgiving sets now, this one and the gorgeous "Pumpkin Wreath".....thanks, Kelley!!!

Our Daily Bread designs "Apple Wreath"

The wreath was stamped, cut out with paper snips, colored with markers, wrapped with linen thread, popped up with foam tape, and then Ranger Glossy Accents was used to cover the apples and accent the greenery.  The denim is from a brand new pair of jeans which was discarded by my brother after a friend grabbed him by the back pocket which caused a "wardrobe malfunction"! Luckily I was around to save the jeans for my sewing stash...yay!!  Luckier yet was the fact that he was wearing underwear that day!  lol!!!!
