Bible Verse Thursday - Anything is Possible

Happy Thursday! This week's Bible Verse Thursday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts is to use any verse about how ANYTHING is possible with God, plus you have to use some kind of sticker(s) on your project....I used two different kinds of Zva pearl stickers, plus the verse is also a sticker I picked up at the ODBD store. The nest image is from a brand new set from Our Daily Bread designs, called....um...... "Nest" ....the name is short and to the point, huh?! There are four new gorgeous sets to be released on February 1st.....don't miss our release day blog hop!!!

I have also used Gloria's Sketch Tuesday sketch and Jen's Color Monday challenge of teal, white, kraft and brown; both challenges plus BVT are from Christian Paper Crafts. Jen's Clean and Simple Challenge this week over at Splitcoast is to use designer paper on your CAS card. I used Basic Grey "Marrakech" since it matched the color challenge plus I wanted to give a sneak peek of this upcoming set. The border was punched with a Martha Stuart Flower Bed border punch.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a blessed day!!!

Snoopy Birthday and ODBD Announcement

Just a quick little post to show a birthday card I made for my nephew, Xavier, using my fave Snoopy and Woodstock image, paired up with metallic paper and the Treadplate embossing folder. The sentiment is from a SU set, Riveting. Other than cutting out the Snoopy image with scissors and an exacto knife, this was an easy card!!! This card is for the Ways to Use It challenge over at Splitcoast, to cut out your image or sentiment!

Just a quick announcement:

Make sure you check out the ODBD blog on Saturday to meet our new CHALLENGE TEAM and participate in their very first blog hop!! Bible Verse Thursday - Born of Water

Happy Thursday!!! It's time for the Bible Verse Thursday Challenge for Christian Paper Crafts!!! This week's challenge is to use any verse relating to baptism. I chose John 3:5 from the Our Daily Bread designs' set, "Baptism and Confirmation Verses".

I have also incorporated Gloria's Sketch Tuesday challenge and Jen's Color Monday Challenge to use teal, white, and an optional color.....I had to go with banana in order to use some of my fave K & Co "Wild Raspberry" paper and this yellow satin embroidered ribbon by May Arts (which DOES match the card IRL, by the way!)

Other materials used: Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Spellbinders Labels Four, Martha Stuart Monarch Butterfly Punch, paper piercer and mat pack by SU, Basic Grey Opaline Pearls, and Irridescent Gold Glimmer Mist to finish.

Have you checked out Christian Paper Crafts lately? Whether you're looking for Christian fellowship, bible studies, daily devotionals, or anything to do with paper-crafting, CPC is the place to hang out! The ladies who "hang out" with us are so fun and so supportive and are also talented paper-crafters! Check out our weekly challenges or gallery!! Would you like to be published in our quarterly on-line magazine? Check out Cindy's message regarding submission calls HERE. We hope you find your way to Christian Paper Crafts and witness the best of both worlds.....Jesus....plus paper-crafts.....can it get any better than that?!

Stamping in Time Challenge and Featured Stamper

This week's featured stamper over at Splitcoast is a total sweetheart and talented stamper, Anne aka jdmommy! Check out her blog, Inking In Red or her Splitcoast Gallery. Anne is so versatile....she can do silly and funny, but also make the most gorgeous and elegant cards as well! I chose this card because of the fun and simple layout.

This card is also for Betty's "Stamping In Time" challenge, a new bi-weekly challenge on the ODBD blog, to use ODBD sets from the past....each challenge will have a little twist.....the first challenge is to use a verse from Scripture Collection 1 or Scripture Collection 2, an image from another ODBD set if you wish, but the twist is that you have to use word spotlighting.....make certain words of the scripture stand out in a creative way.

The verse I chose from Scripture Collection 1 is Isaiah 12:2.....this is such an empowering verse for me....such an awesome reminder that there is NOTHING to fear and that the Lord has "got my back"! The scene is from the set, "With Deepest Sympathy". I witnessed the most gorgeous sunset I had ever seen on the way to work last week, and have been waiting for a chance to re-create it....well, the best I can! The designer paper is Memory Box "Butterfield" , the pearls are Basic Grey Opaline, and the satin ribbon is from May Arts .

Speaking of the ribbon, stay tuned on Monday on the ODBD blog for a product review on the Bow Easy ! You will never have to worry about lop-eared bows again!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!! Have a blessed week!!!

A portion of the sales of this stamp set is donated and split between the American Diabetes Association and the Juvenile Diabetes Association. The designer paper is actually digi-paper from Gina K's Stamp TV's "Freebies" section. There are many gorgeous prints plus some fun templates that you can download for free! Stamp TV is an excellent resource if you are looking for technique tutorials or another source if you are a challenge junkie!!! What an awesome gallery as well!!

Organic Grace Inspiration

Happy Saturday, everyone!!! And for all of you football fans, Happy Playoffs!!! I just have to say, "Go Colts!!!!!!!" You know, it's okay if they don't make it to the Superbowl this year.....I'm just so proud to have a team full of guys who are respectful and classy and are led by a man of God, Coach Caldwell!!! Whether they win or lose, I'm a loyal die-hard fan!!!

Today is Case Artist Saturday over at Christian Paper Crafts and JuliaM is our featured artist....congrats, Julia!! I chose this gorgeous card to copy and share. Also, at Splitcoast, the Inspiration Challenge today is to choose an item from Nell Hill's website for inspiration. I loved the Fern Prints and decided to ink up my SU set, Organic Grace, for the first time. The scripture is a "Flair Designs" sticker I got from the ODBD store....it was adhered over a sponged and stamped Nestie circle. The designer paper is a JoAnn's stack I've had for many years....the dragonfly from Organic Grace was stamped directly on the dsp. Everything was sponged with Ranger Antique Linen; added paper piercing and SU ribbon to finish.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Have a blessed weekend!!

Bible Verse Thursday - Dove Challenge

Wow, it's Thursday again already!!! This week's Bible Verse Thursday Challenge for Christian Paper Crafts is more of a theme rather than a verse challenge! Use any kind of doves on your project....stamps, punches, designer paper....you name it! And of course, you must use a verse on your project as well....any verse you choose! I paired up the dove image from the Our Daily Bread designs' set, "Confirmation" with the verse from "Baptism and Confirmation Verses"....I just can't get enough of these new sets!! The designer paper is Basic Grey "Wisteria", the border and top corners were punched with the Martha Stuart Doily Lace border punch, the pearls are Basic Grey "Opaline", and of course I had to finish with my obsession, "Pearl" Glimmer Mist!!!

I have also used Jen's Color Monday Challenge to use light blue and brown...one of my fave color comos!!!! And Gloria's Sketch Tuesday challenge was a perfect fit as well!!!

Today at Splitcoast, Julia's Ways To Use It Challenge is to use a bird on your project....what are the odds of that? I love it!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!!! Many blessings to you!!!

Mark 16:16 Color and Sketch Challenge

I was totally honored this week when Betty Wright, aka gbedwright, asked if I would make a sample card for this week's color challenge at Splitcoast!! (Betty was formerly on the ODBD Design Team AND served a term on the Splitcoast Dirty Dozen! Betty is outrageously talented!!!) And what great colors she chose this week too.....Chocolate Chip, Pretty In Pink, Rich Razzleberry, with the dessert option of houndstooth. Thank goodness for the Houndstooth Cuttlebug embossing folder or I would have to go to bed with no dessert!!! I chose to use two new sets from Our Daily Bread designs...the scripture is from "Baptism and Confirmation Verses" and the gorgeous scene is from "Confirmation". The designer paper, which was Cuttlebug'd, is Basic Grey "Bittersweet", which was a perfect match for Pretty In Pink. After embossing it, I lightly sponged it with Chocolate Chip...heavier on the edges. The image and sentiment panels were cut and embossed with Spellbinders Labels 8, then I sponged all three colors with Pretty in Pink toward the center, then Razzleberry, then Chocolate Chip around the outside. The image was stamped in Stazon Jet Black, colored with markers, cut out with scissors and exacto knife, and popped up on foam tap for dimension. Added paper piercing, satin ribbon, Basic Grey Opaline Pearls, and Pearl Glimmer Mist to finish!

I have used this week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge 121 for this card as well. It was perfect for the sets I wanted to use for the color challenge. I have just recently came out of my cave and discovered the Mojo sketches...wow, I love 'em!! I know, where have I been, right?

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a blessed week!!!

Gina K Round Two

Thanks so much to Gina K Designs for supplying our DT over at Christian Paper Crafts with the best stamps, paper, and accessories to use during our Gina K sponsored month! I have had a total blast playing with the stamps and I am totally in love with the "Pure Luxury" cardstock!!!

Here are a couple more cards I have made with the Gina K set, "How Sweet It Is". I used Gina's Kraft cardstock for both little notecards. The first card was embossed with the "Swiss Dots" CB EF, sponged with Chocolate Chip, then rounded the corners. The images were stamped in Stazon Jet Black, then painted with Smooch pearlized paints. To get the opposite spoon, I stamped the spoon, cut it out, turned it over, then outlined the outside with a black journal marker, then painted it with Smooch also. I love the buttons which were supplied by Gina K.....they are so cute with gingham ribbon!!!

This card is also Gina K Kraft cardstock, the top edge punched with an EK Success Birthday Candles border punch, then painted with Smooch. The image was cut out, popped up and painted with Smooch as well. Once again, buttons are from Gina K.

For more Gina K creations by our design team at Christian Paper Crafts, visit our "Design Team Delights" gallery! And if you are looking for some great tutorials and Freebie downloads, check out Gina K's Stamp TV!

Bible Verse Thursday - Our God is Sovereign

Hi everyone!! Hope you all had a blessed New Year!!! Well, it's time for Bible Verse Thursday over at Christian Paper Crafts! This week, the theme is "Our God is Sovereign". When I first read this verse from Ephesians, I was reminded that so many of us live such hectic lives that we forget that our God is still in control, and that He is not just in the background where we have placed Him for the time being. He created the heavens, the earth, and every single little thing or thought we know! Some of us get "stressed out" at the drop of the hat, instead of letting God walk along with us and allowing Him to be our leaning post. We let fear control us instead of trusting in Him for solutions to our problems. We fear other people, we fear for our well-being, we fear illness, we fear God's enemies, and the list goes on. Here is my point.....God commands us not to fear anything.....if you have fear, then you can't have total faith in Him as He commands us to do. All things....ALL things come from Him and He is still in control of this world.

"That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me, I am the Lord, and there is none else.
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things." Isaiah 45:6-7

So....no matter what.....God has created all. When you think you're alone in the dark, remember that God is there as well! When there is some kind of conflict in your life, remember that God is there, like a parent training his child.....pay attention to the lessons He gives and be grateful for the wisdom gained!

Now, for a little card info: I have combined two other challenges along with the BVT. The Mojo Monday sketch #120 was super fun to combine with Betty's color challenge over at Splitcoast: Bermuda Bay, Hunter, Celery with dessert of any pink elements other than cardstock. The scripture stamp I used is from the new Our Daily Bread designs' set, "Baptism/Confirmation Verses"; the dove and stamped greenery are from the new ODBD set, "Confirmation". The greenery was masked and stamped repeatedly around the circle....took a little while, but it was worth it!!! The designer paper is "Poppyfinch" from Memory Box....it had every color in it for Betty's challenge!! For my pink accents, I used Hero Arts pink pearls and poly-suede ribbon by May Arts.

Make sure to come back on Friday morning for the Gina K sponsored blog hop for Christian Paper Crafts! Gina K Designs is our sponsor for the month of January....wait until you see what our DT has done with Gina's awesome stamps and accessories! Thanks for stopping by today! May God bless you greatly!!!

New Year's Stampin' Marathon!

Happy Continued New Year!! (For me it's New Year until I go back to work on Monday!)

If you're looking for the Blog Hop for Our Daily Bread designs, please scroll down one post or click HERE. You can find out all of the details on winning one of ODBD's stamps sets by visiting the ODBD blog. Good Luck!!
I've been a busy little stamper this weekend! Since hubby was working on New Year's Eve, I stamped 2009 out of existence, while listening to my fave radio station, Air1!!! I broke a personal record and made four cards in four hours Thursday night, during Splitcoast's New Year's Eve challenges. Then made another CAS card on Friday....it's a miracle for me to get away from my normal "busy" style, as hubby calls it!

My first card here was for the SCS New Year's Eve Challenge to choose one of the college bowl names for your inspiration.....I chose the Liberty Bowl so that I could use "In God We Trust" by Our Daily Bread designs to make a birthday card for my friend, Ric. I embossed the Bravo Burgundy cardstock with the "Stars" folder, inked the stars and edges with Night of Navy, and added paper piercing and navy ribbon for a finish. Very simple and very fun!

This card was for the SCS New Year's Eve challenge to incorporate some sort of noisemaker theme in your project. I chose music as my noisemaker. I also used Jen's Color Monday challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts to use Bashful Blue and purple on your project. The Bashful Blue card was embossed with the "Allegro" folder, inked with Almost Amethyst; punched the edge with the EK Success Scalloped Scallop border punch; added the verse from the ODBD set, "Sing To The Lord", also sponged with amethyst; added eggplant ribbon and "Glacier" Glimmer Mist as a finish.

This card was for the SCS New Year's Eve challenge to make a CAS Thank You card. Perfect timing, since I needed to send a thank you card to my transmission shop for getting me back on the road in ONE DAY!!! **I just have to share a couple of blessings: my transmission started making a clunking noise; I left work early to get it checked out; while on the test drive, the transmission went out! One blessing is that it did not break down with me on the highway somewhere! The second blessing is that they had just rebuilt a transmission exactly like mine and were able to switch them out in one day!!! Okay....about the card.....I used an old fave Stampin' Up set, Winged Things. Stamped the lady bug straight on Kraft cardstock, colored with markers, added the button and ribbon and easy peasy, that's it!!!!

This was also a SCS New Year's Eve Challenge to make a "glitzy" card. I also incorporated the CPS challenge to pick one of their past sketches.....I chose 141. And the Stampin B's challenge this week was to use your oldest stamp (Stampin' Up "Spring Pansy") and your newest tool ("Victoria" embossing folder). Stamped the pansy layers, colored them with sponge daubers; embossed the banana layer with "Victoria", added paper piercing, Basic Grey Opaline Pearls, velvet ric rac, and about six layers of "Pearl" Glimmer Mist.

Wendy's Limited Supply Challenge on Friday was also a blast! It was a fun twist on the phrase "Happy New Year". "Happy" was to make a 15 minute card....it's "happy" because you have the time to make more! "New" was to use an item you had just received or bought for yourself (I just bought the ribbon for myself last week.) "Year" was to use an annual occasion or theme...I chose to use seasons instead of occasions. I started with So Saffron cardstock, stamped with (unknown name) from Inkadinkado, used a border embossing folder and inked it with banana. Added the ribbon and sprayed MUCH "Irridescent Gold" Glimmer Mist to finish!

Moving right along! Today's Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast was to choose an item from the Design Spirit Studio. I chose this gorgeous pendant because of the awesome color combination. I also used Gloria's Sketch Challenge for this week over at Christian Paper Crafts. I used the new set, "Confirmation" from Our Daily Bread designs, "Victoria" embossing folder once again, Spellbinders Labels Three, Circle Nestabilies, and Ribbon Tags Trio, along with May Arts Ribbon, Basic Grey Opaline Pearls, and LOTS of "Pearl" Glimmer Mist!

If you made it to the end of this post, congratulations!!!! Don't forget....if you haven't done the ODBD Blog Hop yet, you still have until the 4th. There is another chance to win fun stuff from ODBD by leaving a comment on our new ODBD Member Company forum over at Splitcoast. Thanks so much for stopping by today! God Bless!
