Eagles at Sunset

Hi, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from the Great Big Canvas site.....I needed to create a masculine card and thought this photo was so cool, with the mountains and eagle!  For my card, I combined three set from Divinity Designs LLC: the eagle image from 'On Eagle's Wings', the mountain image from 'Keep Climbing' and the sentiment is from 'Hello Sunshine'.  The mountains were stamped using my MISTI to get solid ink coverage, then colored with sponges and markers; a stencil and Blending Brushes were used to color the sunrays.  The eagle was stamped, colored with sponging and markers (using masking and reverse masking), then fussy cut and adhered to the panel which was cut out with the Pierced Rectangles Dies, layered onto a Matting Rectangle Die, layered onto a card cut with the A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer Die set. A clear glaze pen was used to add shine to the eagle's eye, beak, and talons.

Full Armor of God

Hi, everyone! This week's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is to create a simple CAS (clean and simple) card with lots of color. This one-layer card is for one of the elders in my Bible study group. The stamps are from the 'Armor of God' and 'Full Armor' sets by Divinity Designs, stamped with Stazon Jet Black, then colored using Stampin Up markers. The background was colored with Blending Brushes, first lightly with navy blue, then gray ink over a stencil in my stash that has no company name on it.

Clean and Simple Masculine Card

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Susan aka MDO Susan. I chose this beautiful card from her gallery but changed it into a one layer masculine design.  The set I chose is Nature's Prints from Stampin Up. I used the MISTI since I colored each stamp with a marker; using the MISTI ensures the ink coverage that you want.  A mask was used in order to stamp the second foliage stamp.  As a finishing touch, the outside edge of the card base was sponged.

Birthday Bass

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from the Belk store.....I needed to create a masculine birthday card and I was drawn to this Bass wall art. Since my bass image was begging to be mounted on the wall, I created a plaque with a pattern from the Weathered Wood Paper Collection, cut with an Oval die then matted with black cardstock and a Double Stitched Ovals Die.  The images (from 'Great Catch' Stamp/Die Duos set) were stamped with Stazon Jet Black onto watercolor paper then water-colored and highlighted with markers and a clear glaze pen. The green layer was dry embossed with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder, then cut out with the Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, matted with a Rectangle Die and Matting Rectangle Die.  The Nephew dies are from Family Names 3. (Note: products mentioned are all from Divinity Designs LLC.)

Queen Bee

Hi, everyone!  This week's Friday Free4All Challenge theme is 'All Things New'.....I am using a brand NEW stamp set, along with a spring theme for my card. The stamp set is 'Queen Bee' and the following dies from Divinity Designs LLC were used: Treat Tags, Pierced Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer, plus a Blending Brush.  The images were all stamped in Stazon Timber Brown, colored with markers, then coated with a Clear Glaze Pen.  Barely Banana ink was brushed onto the center of the card before adding the SU sequin stickers and gold tag with baker's twine.  Also, the crown was stamped onto the same gold foil cardstock and fussy cut....unfortunately I didn't get the right angle with the camera to capture the shiny gold crown.  This will be an anniversary card for my co-worker to give to his wife in a couple of weeks.

Freedom of the Ride

Hi, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from the Playing Card Decks website....I chose this awesome deck because it's one of my fave color combos for masculine cards. (Instead of a Bicycle, I chose a Motorcycle for my card, wink!)  I began with a denim pattern from the Menswear Material Collection Paper Pad, 'King of the Road' stamp set and the following dies: Large Banners, Pierced Ovals, Ovals, Treat Tags (resized to fit the sentiment), Matting Rectangle, Sparkling Stars, and A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer (all products from Divinity Designs LLC.)
