Hi, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from 'At Home'....wow, there is something there for everyone! Plus, I discovered that there is one of these stores only 45 minutes from my house....that is dangerous! :) I fell in love with this gorgeous canvas art and tried to (similarly) recreate it with a new Stampin Up set, 'Pressed Flowers', plus 'Part of my Story' for the sentiment. Each stamp was inked then spritzed with water before stamping. After the stamping was done, the Confetti White card was sponged with gray around the edges, then I went a bit crazy with the white acrylic paint splatters. It's not my best work, but it was fun practicing with spritzing and splattering. :)

April Color Challenge / Find Beauty
Hi, everyone! This month's Design Team Color Challenge is inspired by the Beautiful Blooms Paper Pad......I chose a fun butterfly pattern to create a birthday card for my niece, Miranda. ( I can't believe she's 17 already!!) I have also used the following items from Divinity Designs: Long and Lean Numbers Dies, Family Names 3 Dies, Scalloped Rectangles Dies, Pierced Rectangles Dies, Scalloped Ovals Dies, Ovals Dies, and the Bitty Borders Dies. The quote used is from the 'Find Beauty' set by North Coast Creations (sister company).
Check out the other team samples here and here.

Mother's Day Apron
Hi, everyone! Today I would like to share one of three Mother's Day cards on which I have used the new 'Daughter's Best Friend' set from Divinity Designs, paired with the 'Apron and Tools Dies' which I haven't used in several years. I thought that a floral apron was perfect for spring! The peony flowers were stamped onto watercolor paper; the aqua background was water-colored and the flowers were all colored with markers. The card base, tools and pockets were cut with the die set. The floral panel was embossed with the Cross Stitch Embossing Folder; the inside lines of the apron dies were used to trace on the backside of the floral panel and the pocket layers were cut by hand then adhered to the die cut pieces. Eyelets and ribbon were added for the finishing touch.

Polished Stone Stencil Lift
Hi, everyone! Today I would like to share a card which was inspired by my new navy blue gingham ribbon! I dug through my folder of alcohol ink panels and found one on which I used eggplant and navy inks with the polished stone technique. I then used the Damask Mixed Media Stencil and sponged Alcohol Lift Ink to create the flourished background. Once the panel was done, it was trimmed down with the Pierced Rectangles Dies, matted in white, ribbon added (bow tied with a Bow Easy), then adhered the panel to an eggplant card. The 'Long and Lean Letters' were cut from navy and white and glued to the background panel. Since the alcohol ink panel was already done, this card didn't take long to come together....I love when that happens!!

Divinity Designs LLC April New Releases!
Hi, everyone! Welcome to the April release party for Divinity Designs! It's flower heaven this month!! You have to check out the entire new release, gorgeous design team samples, plus info on how to win some goodies.....click HERE.
Here are the products featured in my three card samples for today:
First up is a card created for my niece, Paxton, who will turn 2 this month. I fell in love with the Pretty Pink Peonies Paper Collection this month since it is all floral yumminess! I picked this particular design from the paper pack since it was more whimsical than elegant...perfect for a birthday cake! It was so fun trying to come up with die sets to help my vision come to life: the cake stand was cut from the Bitty Borders Dies and the Letter T Die (upside down); the two cake tiers were cut with the Rounded Rectangles Dies, the light pink scallops were also cut with the Bitty Borders Dies; the candles were cut with the Birthday Candles Dies, and the tiny hearts were cut with the Clouds and Raindrops Dies set. The top pink layer was dry embossed with the new 'Damask' Mixed Media Stencil, then cut out with the Pierced Rectangles Dies and matted with the Scalloped Rectangles Dies. The 'Niece' sentiment was cut with the new Family Names 3 Dies and the number '2' was cut with the new Long and Lean Numbers Dies.
My second card was created with the following items: Cross Stitch Embossing Folder, Long and Lean Letters Dies, Pretty Pink Peonies Designer Paper, Scalloped Rectangles Dies, Pierced Rectangles Dies, Leafy Edged Borders Dies, Large Banners Dies, Layering Hearts Dies, and the Clouds and Raindrops Dies (tiny hearts). After dry embossing with the Cross Stitch Embossing Folder, the panel was burnished with Inka-Gold paste, then buffed off. To match the shimmery gold background, I incorporated gold metallic cardstock with the beautiful designer paper layers. (P.S. I love this floral designer paper so much, I would love to wallpaper my house with it!! LOL!!!) Pink baker's twine was added to the banner tag and along the curve of the border die.
My third card is a birthday card for my mom, which features the 'Daughter's Best Friend' stamp set, along with the Scalloped Rectangles Dies, Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, Bitty Butterflies Dies, and the center oval die from the Mini Bow Die set. My Mom loves the deep burgundy peonies in the spring, so I began by stamping onto watercolor paper with Stazon Jet Black, colored the flower centers yellow, then sealed them with a clear glaze pen. The peonies were colored all over with a melon marker, then a raspberry marker on the inside edges of each petal, then watercolored with the same raspberry ink to blend with the darkest sections. The background was watercolored with aqua. The next to largest die from the Double Stitched Rectangles Dies set was used to cut out the image panel and it was used to emboss the stitching into the melon scalloped frame. For the ribbon treatment, I used the center die from the Mini Bow Die to cut an oval aperature into the panel so that part of the ribbon could run under the panel. Yellow gemstones were added to coordinate with the flower centers and a butterfly was cut with the Bitty Butterflies Dies and sponged to match the flowers and cardstock.
Thanks so much for hanging out with us!
