Stitched Daisy Sneaky Peek!

Happy Tuesday, everyone! Only two days left until the December sets are released from Our Daily Bread designs.....are you getting excited?! Today I am sharing another "sneak peek" which features two new stamps, the "Daisy" set and the "Stitch Background" stamp.

The "Stitch Background" was stamped with Versamark onto SU Pink Pirouette cardstock, then embossed with Winter White embossing powder. The "Daisy" stamp was stamped twice.....the bottom layer I trimmed close around the edge, but the top layer was cut out with a craft knife and popped up for extra dimension. I love painted daisies of all colors, so with sponge daubers I colored these Barely Banana in the centers and blended Pink Pirouette from the outsides in. The centers were covered with Lemon Yellow Flower Soft to make them look real.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Daisy' and 'Stitch Background';
Cardstock: SU Pink Pirouette, Barely Banana, and Whisper White;
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, SU Pink Pirouette, Barely Banana, Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Versamark;
Accessories: Bow Easy, May Arts Satin Ribbon and Crocheted Lace, 'Lemon Yellow' Flower Soft, Spellbinders Lacey Circles die set, SU Winter White embossing powder, heat tool, Zva Creative Pearls, 'Pearl' Glimmer Mist, Craft Knife, Foam Tape, Sponge Daubers, paper piercer and template;
Size: A2.

"Just A Little Something" CAS Challenge

Happy Monday, everyone! It was a bit of a bummer going back to work today after a four day weekend, but being able to play in Splitcoast's Clean and Simple Challenge after dinner cheered me right up!!! The challenge this week is a sketch from one of resqbarbie's beautiful CAS cards.

The image I chose is from a new ODBD set, "Simple Things", which will be released on Thursday, December 1st. There is even a matching "Clover Die" to cut out the image perfectly....even the tiny little bees!!! This was a perfect image for the sketch.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Simple Things' (release date December 1);
Cardstock: SU Certainly Celery and Whisper White;
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery, Pear Pizazz, Pink Pirouette;
Accessories: Bow Easy, Michael's Gingham Ribbon, Spellbinders Labels 15, paper piercer, sponge dauber, foam tape, corner rounder, 'Pearl' Glimmer Mist;
Size: A2.

"I Will Make You Fishers of Men"

Happy Sunday, everyone! Well, it's back to work for me tomorrow, so I was happy to squeeze in some play time today. This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Stacy Sheldon aka JBGREENDAWN...congrats, Stacy! I enjoyed cruising through her gallery.....many different gorgeous designs to choose from. I chose two photos and combined the elements from each since I couldn't decide on one: "Each Day's Gifts" because I loved the tearing and CAS design, and "More To Life" because of the stamped twill and fishing theme.

This will be a birthday card for my hubby.....he doesn't normally read my blog, so I hope he doesn't decide start to this week!!! haha!! For the background, I stamped the "Fish Background" from Our Daily Bread designs directly onto some Basic Grey "Granola" designer paper. The main panel (and twill ribbon) were stamped with the "Fishers of Men" set by Our Daily Bread designs. The scene was colored with SU Markers, along with ink pads and sponge daubers (using masking). My DH doesn't like when I spend too much time on his cards, so he'll be happy to see a simple design again this year.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Fishers of Men' and 'Fish Background';
Cardstock: SU Marina Mist and Whisper White;
Designer Paper: Basic Grey 'Granola';
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, SU Markers and ink pads;
Accessories: May Arts Twill Ribbon, Antique Brass Brads, Paper Piercer and Template, sponge daubers, and scratch paper for masking'
Size: 5-1/2 x 5-1/2.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit! Have a wonderful, blessed week!!

A Light For My Path

If you are looking for the ODBD Thanksgiving Sale and a chance to win prizes, please scroll down one post or click HERE.

Happy Saturday, everyone! I am so excited to be playing in the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast again this week.....inspiration challenges are my favorites.....there are so many different ways to interpret an inspiration piece. I chose this gorgeous "Esquire" baby bedroom from the Glenna Jean store.....the colors, fabrics, and nautical theme led me to the "Light of the World" stamp set by Our Daily Bread designs and my new fave paper right now, Prima "Alla Prima"!

I love how designer paper patterns can make up part of the card design..... the rolling hillside element helped me to keep this very simple...yay!! The image panel was cut out with an ODBD Elegant Ovals die....while the cardstock was still in the die, I stamped the image, colored it with SU markers and sponge daubers (using masking). By leaving it in the die, I was able to keep the white border edge instead of having to cut an extra mat for it. I then used a die from Spellbinders Labels 18 for the mat behind the image panel.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Light of the World';
Cardstock: SU Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White;
Designer Paper: Prima 'Alla Prima';
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, SU markers and ink pads;
Accessories: Spellbinders Labels 18 and ODBD Elegant Ovals dies, May Arts Twill Ribbon, Gold Brads, paper piercer and template, sponge daubers, scratch paper for masking and sponging clouds;
Size: 5-1/2 x 5-1/2.

Classics Challenge

Hello, everyone! Happy Tuesday! Today is my very first day hosting a new challenge over at the ODBD Forum, previously known as Christian Paper Crafts. Our Daily Bread designs has recently acquired the community forum, which now looks different, but things are mostly the same. Though the normal challenges remain on the ODBD blog each month, at the ODBD Forum, there are weekly challenges just for fun, which have been carried over from Christian Paper Crafts. Come on over and check us out! There is a John Bible study by Natalie Houston which is very thorough and insightful, there are devotionals, praise and prayer requests, plus lots of paper-crafting tips and fun as well.

One of the new challenges at the ODBD Forum is the Classic Challenge, which revisits some classic color and sketch challenges from Christian Paper Crafts. This weeks Classic Challenge, ODBDCC01,is a color challenge and is based on the previous CPC84 inspiration piece.....use the colors from this cute little high chair. I love all of the browns and blues together....one of my fave color combos! I chose to use Memory Box 'Minuet' designer paper since it matched all of the colors of the high chair. Memory Box seems to have just about any color combo you need!

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Faith';
Cardstock: SU Crumb Cake and Whisper White;
Designer Paper: 'Minuet' by Memory Box;
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Ranger Antique Linen, SU Bashful Blue;
Accessories: Spellbinders Lacey Ovals, May Arts Suede Leaves and Crocheted Lace, CM Corner Rounder, Zva Creative Pearls, 'Pearl' Glimmer Mist, Paper Piercer and Template, Sponge Dauber, Foam Tape;

My Soul Thirsts For You, O God!

Happy Saturday, everyone! It's a rainy, cool day here in Indiana....what a perfect day to stamp away!!!!:) Today's Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast nearly made me shop instead of stamp....the beautiful hand-made jewelry pieces at the Singing Cat Studio were amazing! The colors, textures, and shimmer were full of WOW factor!

I needed to make a birthday card for my nephew, so I was flipping through my designer paper packs for some interesting color combos and came up with Basic Grey Pyrus which has the same colors of this gorgeous pendant. Since I didn't have any metallics to match, I went with the flat colors of the pendant instead....copper (burned orange), green for the grass, and blue for the water, sky, and curtains.

I started out by cutting out the window and curtains using the new Spellbinders/ODBD Windows Die Set. I then traced the window die onto white cardstock and cut out by hand for the outside scene, which is from the Our Daily Bread designs set, Quiet Waters. After coloring the scene with SU markers, the window frame was popped up with foam tape. This was a very fun and easy card to make. I can't wait to use this window die with more stamps!!

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Quiet Waters';
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, and SU markers;
Cardstock: SU Bordering Blue and Whisper White;
Designer Paper: Basic Grey 'Pyrus' and 'Life of the Party' (wood-grain paper);
Accessories: Spellbinders/ODBD 'Windows' dies, May Arts Twill Ribbon, Antique Brass Brads, Paper Piercer and Template, Sponge Daubers, Foam Tape;
Size: 5-1/2 x 5-1/2.

Warm, Golden Wishes for Featured Stamper!

Happy Sunday, everyone! Today I would like to share a fun and easy card which I made for two challenges. This week's Featured Stamper at Splitcoast is Anne Harada aka Itsapassion.....yay, Anne! What a treat it was to cruise through every page of her gallery....wow, so many gorgeous cards and projects to choose from. When I came across this white and gold beauty, it reminded me of the Shining the Light Challenge at Our Daily Bread designs (metallics with a twist), so I decided to combine the two challenges together.

P.S. When you have a moment, please say a little prayer for Anne's hubby....he was taken to the ER on Friday for some heart issues and I haven't heard from Anne with an update as of yet. Please also say a prayer for Cindy Coutt's step-mom, who is in the last stages of pancreatic cancer. Thank you!

For my card, I grabbed some gold mirror paper, which I bought from the Our Daily Bread designs show booth earlier this year, to use with Spellbinders Ironworks Motifs and Ironworks Accents die sets. The background was embossed with a Spellbinders Floral and Stone Impressabilities metal template, then used the template as a stencil to sponge around with Ranger Antique Linen Distress Ink. The die-cut pieces were popped up with foam tape and pearls were added as an accent. The sentiment panel was cut out with Spellbinders Lacey Circles, sponged with Antique Linen. Using a Stamp-a-ma-jig stamp positioner, I was able to stamp one word at a time inside the circle using the sentiment from the Our Daily Bread designs set, 'Warm Wishes'.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs' 'Warm Wishes';
Cardstock: SU Whisper White;
Designer paper: Gold mirror paper (brand unknown);
Ink: Ranger Antique Linen and Stazon Timber Brown;
Accessories: Spellbinders Ironworks Motifs, Ironworks Accents, Lacey Circles, and 'Floral and Stone' Impressabilities template; Stamp-a-ma-jig, Zva Creative Pearls, foam tape, sponge dauber, paper piercer and template;
Size: 4-3/4 x 6.

Burgundy and Sage Blessings!

Happy Saturday, everyone!!! Though I have lots of "work" to do, I decided that today would be all about play! My favorite kind of challenges are those with an inspiration piece to get the juices flowing....this week's Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast is to choose an item from the Sally Meekins Ceramic Co. You should see all of the miniature ceramic pieces of art there...wow! I chose this beautiful Chrysanthemum Plate....I thought the burgundy and sage looked amazing together! This designer paper from Memory Box was a perfect fit and I grabbed some retired SU Sage Shadow cardstock out of my "forbidden stash" just for this card! :)

I cut out two "pendants" from the Spellbinders Lace Doily Motifs, then used a Square Nestabilities die to cut out the center of one of them. The sentiment from the ODBD set, Sacred Season, was stamped on another Square Nestabilities panel, then sponged with Sage, and adhered it to the bottom "pendant". The top section was popped up with foam tape so that the sentiment would be "inset", then I adhered two corner die cuts from the Lace Doily Accents die set for a little flair.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Sacred Season';
Cardstock: SU Sage Shadow, Bravo Burgundy, and Whisper White;
Designer Paper: Memory Box 'Mistletoe';
Ink: Stazon Jet Black and SU Sage Shadow;
Accessories: Spellbinders Lace Doily Motifs, Lace Doily Accents, Square Nestabilities, 'Pearl' Glimmer Mist, Zva Creative Pearls, paper piercer and template, sponge dauber, and foam tape;
Size: 5-1/2 x 5-1/2.

Layered Poinsettia / Peace On Earth!

Happy Friday, everyone! First of all, since it's Veterans Day, I wanted to send many thanks, hugs, and prayers to all of those in the armed forces....and to the families at home. Thanks to all those who have put their lives in danger and for those who have paid the ultimate price....there are not enough words to express the gratitude. God's blessings to all of you!!

Today I would like to share a simple and fun I made for a couple of challenges at Splitcoast this week. The Clean and Simple Challenge was based on a sketch by my former DT sister at CPC, Taylor Usry....yay, Taylor! Thanks for the great sample! Also, the Ways To Use It Challenge was to create "Space" by using dimensional flowers, pop-up 3d items, etc.....a perfect chance to use my new Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia die set! I was so intimidated to make one of these, but I don't know why, because it was easy peasy!! Cut out each section, sponge, then pop up!!

Above is a close up of the poinsettia plus the yummy "Pearl" Glimmer Mist, which is usually camera shy!

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Ornaments 2' (sentiment);
Cardstock: SU Barely Banana, Pear Pizazz, and Whisper White;
Designer Paper: Basic Grey 'Picadilly';
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizazz;
Accessories: Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia Die Set, Spellbinders Grand Calibur (to cut out all of the pieces at once!), 'Pearl' Glimmer Mist, Bow Easy, May Arts Satin Ribbon, Paper Piercer and Template, Sponge Daubers, Foam Tape, Zva Creative Pearls.
Size: A2.
